This is what you do when you are determined to be optimistic about everything. Everything conforms to the narrative. Including history.

It does the CEO no good, of course. When shareholders become apologists and excuse-makers, their role is nullified. As protective as the black knight. It is good for Solms to be held to account when he fails to reach his expressed goals.

It is far more valuable to Wave to acknowledge the good stuff and question the bad stuff, regardless of your investing position. Heck, the CEO even admitted he had been too optimistic about Wave's advance recently. I agree with him, hope he has learned, and move on.

Is there something wrong with purporting in retrospect that a quarter earlier release of the new version of an important product might have resulted in an internal target being met? Not excuse making for the company, just a simple proposition.

Perhaps you have an issue with the target being cited as "internal" when your contention is that Solms publicly stated a BE date when he became CEO and repeated it every CC?
