I agree with your assessment, Langostino.

His ERA has ballooned to over 5, and he is lucky the sticks have picked him up, but I still think he will have 15 wins this season.

We will see what happens.

They certainly knew what they were getting.

Nobody can say he let anybody down unfairly. Maybe it's just a NY mentality - willing to pay good bucks but fully expect a good return on their money. NY is a tough town - many talents don't do well there; when they leave, they flourish.

The organization knew how old it was when they hired him -- they placed a premium on reputation and buying the current best, rather than the future best.

I agree 100% and that is something that George does all the time. It makes me crazy! For that reason I really hope that they don't get Clemens back.

You summed up Johnson pretty well. Yankees countered the Sox signing of Schill with Johnson. For all the BS talk about the Yankees payroll lets not forget that Schill got a $5M kicker which MLB has since ruled illegal.
