Management and the judge cannot just choose to wipe out commons just because they feel like it will be better. Sure, if the financial future shows it is NEEDED, then they will have to wipe out commons in order to continue on. The decision to wipe out commons is not a simple choice. I know we're beating a dead horse here, but if assets clearly outweigh the liabilities and no bonds requiring present repayment have been impaired, they legally cannot wipe out common shares just because they might want to. Also, don't forget, it shares get wiped out, management loses all of their shares, as well

IMO the reason for so little movement in share price lately is that the exact value of the assets is still unknown. Many of us have speculated, but until we get concrete numbers from GT or some evidence of for sure future contracts, it's still up in the air. IP value is still very much up in the air, too. I think as soon as we see actual news from GT, the price will react sharply, whether that's up or down.

It has been discussed. I myself have said many times that there is no guarantee that commons will survive.

With that said, when looking at the info we do have, it appears that there is no factual basis, or logical reason they should be wiped out.

Of course for the benefit of the company, it would be better to just "start over". But, according to Law, you don't get the opportunity to do so just because you want to. If that were the case, every single company in the business world would claim BK the very second they fell on financial hardship.

There are Laws and standards that must be upheld. The Court will be the one to determine the outcome...not GT, not Apple.

There are other entities involved here also that could either benefit greatly, or lose substantially by having GT start over. It just isn't that simple.

If you would like to discuss it...please, by all means start the discussion. Please just be sure to have a factual argument so it may be debated logically. I would be happy to discuss it with you and if your argument is valid, you may actually convince me to share your opinion. I am by no means irrational and suffer from lack of objectivity.

Lastly, if you are so convinced that your long shares aren't going to fare well....my advice to you is to sell them. It will save your investment. It will allow you to sleep better at night. And it will do wonders for your blood pressure. Wise investors know when to buy. Incredibly wise investors know when to sell!
