As well, an agreement in principle may involve collateral in cash, and/or property, and/or stock held in a "type of escrow" as a show of good faith, which is the precursor to a formally signed contracted agreement. When inked the escrow is transferred.

The Russian deal was an LOI....no money was transfered to move it from an LOI to a binding agreement.


The Tao deal WAS an LOI.
