It’s quite astounding what a global medical emergency reveals about who’s playing what role regarding whom and when/where. I find the entire situation completely cluster fucked. A guy like me, boots on the ground, needs guidance from someone who’s doing the epidemiology, the research, etc. because I simply don’t have the luxury of doing that aspect of the work. When we get constant bickering, constant conflicting evidence, retracted articles, etc. it undermines trust in who’s running the damn situation. In that instance I end up going back to my own experience and research I’m able to do in the time I have available and treat according to my conscience. I give adequate warning of risks and what precisely to look out for.
