The administration gutted the relevant functions. This is their fault. That people are sensitive about it is understandable. It is a failing with immense consequences, and denial won’t save them, or change the reality. Many more Americans will die, though thankfully we have some drugs that will help, coming on line to keep people alive, and I hope those will also mitigate the long-term effects on lungs and possibly elsewhere of having COVID19, which also it seems affect people who are asymptomatic.
