Not a replacement for statin therapy but as an incremental and separate prescription treatment option for patients at risk for CV events



I think some here are misinterpreting this statment. The key word is "incremental" - Although an odd word choice, I think this means "in addition to" statin.

I see it as

First; a prescription statin is obtained.

Second; A prescription for V is obtained.

V is the second increment in drug treatment.

Separate is that V is independent in regard to which statin is used and what dosage is used and independent of any change in type or dose. Indeed, if there is an incompatibility with a particular statin leading to a break in stain treatment, V can continue to be used pending further statin treatment or despite no further statin treatment as it is separate treatment option from the statin.
