Thing is, if marijuana is is fully legalized, there'll be some consequences that, while neither unanticipated nor unintended, will be a mixed bag for companies, users, and investors.

On the upside, those groups will no longer have to worry about legal threats. But on the downside, "medical" dispensaries in states where ONLY medical marijuana is legal may find themselves facing questions from the FDA. And of course at that point both medical and recreational pot will be subjected to federal as well as state taxes.
