Thanks for sharing excel,
I got chills and tears in my eyes. I do still pray for her, believe it or not. God is Good!!!
Long2Retire. Like you said context.
Here was my problem with this. The Bible say's in Matt.19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder,...In Vine's Greek Dictionary it says Note:In Matt, 19:18. A.V., phoneuo, to kill (akin to phoneus, see below) is translated "thou shalt do (no) murder" For me the Bible makes a distinction between murder and kill. So I thought why is Franklin helping murderers? Who's paying for this?
I never had been to that site you put up for me. Thank You. After that site I hit 3 more(Canada) one main stream and Franklin told it like it was.
Church planters are famous for going, or trying to go, and plant churches among evil (murderous) people. They get killed, or die real young from all kinds of disease. O.K Franklin has a more tender heart than I do I figured. BUT I hate the U.N.'s guts and thought what's he doing with that? Then now, you make me think, well you just make me think. THE Great Commission, but when you said commission on that one post, did you mean like getting a commission ($) for his efforts? That even made me think. The UN? sheesh Then I thought of a missionary pastor who told me once, when we were discussing gambling, and the lottery, he said " Only thing wrong with tainted money is there taint enough of it" LOL. For me the UN is tainted, but o.k. context. Sorry for wandering on you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Hi excel. :)
When you said on a different post, that criminal ISIS patients go back to the so called "battlefield" I thought no way. These guys are severe. It's triage. The Drs. have to pick who has the best shot at life to live. But at any rate, I did speed read one of the links you gave me now, and before I even posted you I had read it, and I thought it looked like phoney news. lol I'm not to good at this. I tried to get you the Canada news I found and I'm doing something wrong. Ask excel about my computer knowledge. LOL...Try a google, if you have time enter. pressreader Canadians aid Yazidis recovery. It looked legit to me.
I had to think about this too. He respects our Gov..and it was well written I feel. My question is who is paying for this? It's a hospital. Hospital's take anyone. The money I think? is coming from Canada funneling through the UN? I know nothing about Canada and it newspapers. But after trying to get to the bottom of this, it looks like a newspaper called the Pressreader with headlines saying Canadians aid Yazidis recovery... states where the money comes from for this.(hospital) Once again, it's a hospital in a war zone and these Dr.'s and nurses are putting their lives on the line. It must be their calling from God. As long as the money isn't coming from my tax dollars, I don't have a problem with it. I don't have a problem with Franklin. I've read maybe two of his books long time ago and I feel he's o.k.. But not on my dime. I'll donate to causes, but I can't donate to this one if asked. But that's just me. It's late for me, but let the Canadian's help. If Franklin help's the enemy so be it. After all, once again, they must have a calling from God to do this. God Bless them. I will try to remember to pray for them. Thanks for posting this. If you have any more thoughts on this please share.
Merry Christmas to all.
Thank you for your Service! And
may God bless you and your families.
Yes I know about it.
It's called Fat Tuesday? I suspect a Catholic tradition. I think? it's the last day of Mardi Gras (New Orleans) region. You eat rich foods and get really liquored up.
Then you have to dry out if you're a boozer, and no more rich foods if you're a glutton... for Lent.
Fat Tuesday = Party hardy if I remember right?? No pancakes. More like
last call for alcohol and good food. imho
You might want to check
cbd.com
They could have something geared for what you're looking for and they are inexpensive.
I've had all kinds of study Bibles.
I've worn out two Ryrie study Bibles and I'm on my third Ryrie now. NAS
Then I have a NIV study Bible that is only semi worn.
I have a Prophecy Bible by Grant Jeffrey that is showing wear. KJV
I have a Archaeological Bible that is so so. Haven't read it much.
But you're looking at a person who loves The Picture Bible for children. I try to read that one once a year.
Halleys hand book is really good. I'd go with the Ryrie.
(He's a semi Calvanist)
The NIV Study Bible is good, but Ryrie is better. More details. Like I said. I'm on my third one. I thump my Bibles. I looked at McArthur (sp) and no thanks...for me.
Good Luck :)
Merry Christmas to all. You yelled out...
"crap"?? LOL
I yelled out a really loud wolf call when they finally played a Christian Christmas song in the mall.
(It was a concert...a politically correct concert?)LOL
Yes, I can just imagine
the heart break.
None the less, the Bible says,
1Timothy3:4-5
4. He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity
5. (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?)
First of all children is speaking of under age kids? Yes. I would say.
I would say you must resign.
v5 "How will he take care of the church of God?"
In other words find a new job for now. Thoughts???
Even more important
for me, is to make sure I don't end up there.
Jude 21
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Deep Sea Hydrothermal Vents
I heard (new news for me) That giant tuberworms that live around hydrothermal vents on the sea floor. These creatures are about the size of your hand in shallower waters, but in the oceans deep they have been found as big as eight feet long.
So not my bag, (science) but I have been reading about these worms on the ocean floor on google this late morn.
I couldn't help but think....
If you were to ask me where hell is I would say in the center of the earth.
In Numbers 16:33... they went down alive into the pit...
Job11:8 ...deeper than hell;
Mt.11:23...shall be brought down to hell...
etc. Although I can't find in the Bible that hell is in the center of the earth. But that's where I would GUESS it to be.
Also it's hot in hell.
Rev.20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone...
Lk.16:24...that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
And where the worm dieth not.
Mk.9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
46. Where their worm dieth not, and fire is not quenched.
48. Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
so, here you have Hydrothermal vents, on the bottom of the sea floor, with tube worms. I can't help but wonder if you were to go into these cracks on the bottom of the ocean what would be inside. Sounds like hell to me. FWIW
I just thought this was interesting.
(Thy word is truth)
I think John MacArthur
is either a hyper Calvinist? or an altra Calvinist? which I am not.
I could not join his church.
I would not want to sit under his teaching.
Is John saved? Of course.
Am I saved? Of course.
Just differing opinions on theology. (I guess you could call it.)
To Take Captive Every Thought
Spirit Controlled Living
Clark Cothern (edited by me)
To Take Captive Every Thought
1. Put on the mind of Christ by reading His Word.
(When you do this, you are walking in the Spirit by letting the Word dwell richly within you.)
2. As you study His Word, ask Him to guide you into truth through His Holy Spirit. (He promises to do this in John 14:16, 17, 26; 16:13, 15. Key verse 16:13.)
3. When you get hit by a dart, look at a brick.
Look at a Brick
"I'd like you to think of each truth in God's Word as a brick. Can you picture a whole bunch of truths, all stacked on top of each other, forming a strong wall?"
"Now, as we build our shields of faith, what makes up the uburnable building material?"
"Truth from God's Word,"
"Right. And so, instead of a small, wooden shield, we're going to build a huge, nonflammable brick shield, big enough not only to stand behind, but big and strong enough to build a jail cell around the negative thoughts that come as a result of the fiery darts.
"Now I'm going to share one of my favorite verses for you to think about while I explain this Look at a Brick concept. I love Proverbs 30:5, which says, 'Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.'
"In that verse, who is the one doing the shielding?"
"God."
"And what is it that is flawless?"
"His Word."
"Every word."
....Paul tells us in Philippians 4:8 that we should think about 'whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable,' and if anything is "excellent or praisworthy,' we should think about those things too. When you put on the mind of Christ by daily pouring His Word into your heart and mind, you store up a whole supply of bricks. And each time a dart starts you down the path of negative thoughts, you can simply bring to mind one of those truths--one of those bricks--and focus on it. In a matter of seconds, your emotions go back down the thermometer, because you've arrested the thought and built a jail cell around it with your 'truth bricks."
The Spirit Gives You the Bricks
John 16:13
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth.
When you are putting on the mind of Christ, you have access to the Spirit of truth. He will guide you into all the truth you need in order to store up a huge pile of bricks.
"I'd like you to choose one area you are struggling with... Then, each day, whenever you have a Bible reading and prayer time, I want you to begin with a simple prayer thanking the Father for giving you His Holy Spirit. Thank Him that Jesus promised you the Spirit of truth. Then, as you read through portions of the Bible, ask Him to guide you into the truths that will help you develop a sheild of faith. Each time you read a verse or passage with a truth that counters the lies Satan is trying to deceive you with, write that passage down. If possible, memorize the key verse in the passage. You can journal it if you wish, by keeping a sheet of paper handy, so you can compile a whole list of 'truth bricks."
Answer the following questions to review what you've just learned about taking captive every thought and making it obedient to Christ:
1. What is the material used in building your shield of faith?
2. What does it mean to "look at a brick" when you find yourself in a downward spiral of negative thoughts?
3. Where do you find the bricks you will pile up to make your shield and the "jail cell" for the negative thoughts you will take captive?
4. Who leads you to those truths?
5. What will you do this week to start piling up your bricks?

Satan's Weapons
Spirit Controlled Living
By Clark Cothern
(edited by me)
"what happens, way back at the trigger stage, is that Satan shoots weapons at us. Paul calls them "fiery darts." He uses that passage in Ephesians 6 where he talks about putting on the armor of God....
"To give you a little background about this unusual weapon, Paul knew that it was common in those days for soldiers to dip the tips of short, wooden missiles into a flammable substance like pitch. Pitch is kind of like tree sap. Have you ever seen how quickly sap goes up in flames?...
"That pine makes a great fire starter because once it's ignited, highly combustible sap burst into flame, and the sticky, gooey burning substance ignites all flammable surfaces around it. It was a similar molten mess that made the darts such useful weapons back in Paul's day."
"This stuff was really a fiery mess. And unlike longer arrows, shot over longer distances by archers, these shorter 'darts' were shot into the enemy camp at closer range. That means the enemy had to creep close enough to scope out vulnerable targets. These stealthy attackers knew the purpose of their weapons. They weren't trying to mortally wound people by putting holes in them. They were trying to hit targets that could be ignited by the burning pitch."
If you had been a soldier back then and if you could have strategically aimed a dart at a combustible material, what kind of material would you have tried to hit?"
"Perhaps a tent made of cloth?"
"Or maybe a wooden sheild?"
"Exactly. If you could fire your dart at those object, it would damage or destroy the soldier's protection, leaving him exposed to further harm....
The soldier's shield wasn't covered by copper, tin, or brass. It was only bare, dry wood, often covered by leather, both of which were highly combustible. What do you think might happen if a flaming dart hit that kind of shield?"
"The molten goo would splatter all over the shields surface and the whole thing would become a mess."
The trick in using the fiery dart was threefold: first, a sneak attack; second, careful aim at a combustible target, and third, careful timing in its release. When used properly, these small but dangerous weapons, by spreading their burning payload, would do far more damage than an untreated arrow."
1. What two-word picture does Paul use to describe Satan's weapons?
2. If the purpose of these weapons is not to kill, then why are they used?
3. Are these long-range or short-range weapons? Why?
Ephesians 6:16 NIV
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

The Hiding Place (edited by me)
The Three Visions
....That very week I began to speak. If this was God's new work for me, then He would provide the courage and the words. Through the streets and suburbs of Haarlem I bumped on my bicycle rims, bringing the message that joy runs deeper than despair.
It was news that people needed to hear that cheerless spring of 1945. No Bride of Haarlem trees filled the air with fragrance; only the stump that had been too big to haul off for firewood. No tulips turned fields into carpets of color; the bulbs had all been eaten. No family was without tragedy. In churches and club rooms and private homes in those desperate days I told the truths Betsie and I had learned at Ravensbruck.
And always at these meetings, I spoke of Betsie's first vision: of a home here in Holland where those who had been hurt could learn to live again unafraid. At the close of one of these talks a slender, aristocratic lady came up to me. I knew her by sight: Mrs. Bierens de Haan whose home in the suburb of Bloemendaal was said to be one the most beautiful in Holland. I had never seen it, only the trees at the edge of the huge park in which it was set, and so I was astonished when this elegantly dressed lady asked me if I were still living in the ancient little house on the Barteljorisstraat.
"How did you--yes, I do. But---"
"My mother often told me about it. She went there frequently to see an aunt of yours who, I believe was in charitable work"?
...."I am a widow," Mrs. Bierens de Haan was saying, "but I have five sons in the Resistance. Four still alive and well. The fifth we have not heard from since he was taken to Germany. As you spoke just now something in me kept saying, 'Jan will come back and in gratitude you will open your home for this vision of Betsie ten Boom."
It was two weeks later that a small boy delivered a scented envelope to the side door; inside in slanted purple letters was a single line, "Jan is home."
Mrs. Bierens de Haan herself met me at the entrance to her estate. Together we walked up an avenue of ancient oaks meeting above our heads. Rounding the final bend, we saw it, a fifty-six room mansion in the center of a vast lawn. Two elderly gardeners were poking about the flowerbeds.
"We've let the gardens go," Mrs. Bierens de Haan said. "But I thought we might put them back in shape. Don't you think released prisoners might find therapy growing things?"
I didn't answer. I was staring up at the gabled roof and the leaded windows. Such tall, tall windows...
"Are there--" my throat was dry. "Are there inlaid wood floors inside, and a broad gallery around a central hall, and--and bas-relief statues set along the walls?"
Mrs. Bierens de Haan looked at me in surpise. "You've been here then! I don't recall---"
"No, I said. "I heard about it from---"
I stopped. How could I explain what I did not understand?
"From someone who's been here," she finished simply, not understanding my perplexity.
"Yes," I said. "From someone who's been here."
The second week in May the Allies retook Holland...
In June the first of many hundreds of people arrived at the beautiful home in Bloemendaal. Silent or endlessly relating their losses, withdrawn or fiercely aggressive, every one was a damaged human being. Not all had been in concentration camps; some had spent two, three, even four years hidden in attic rooms and back closets here in Holland.
...in Bloemendaal they were reminded that they were not the only ones who had suffered. And for all these people alike, the key to healing turned out to be the same. Each had a hurt he had to forgive: the neighbor who had reported him, the brutal guard, the sadistic soldier...
I continued to speak, partly because the home in Bloemendal ran on contributions, partly because the hunger for Betsie's story seemed to increase with time. I traveled all over Holland, to other parts of Europe, to the United States.
But the place where the hunger was greatest was Germany. Germany was a land in ruins, cities of ashes and rubble, but more terrifying still, minds and hearts of ashes. Just to cross the border was to feel the great weight that hung over that land.
It was at a church service in Munich that I saw him, the former S.S. man who had stood guard at the shower room door in the processing center at Ravensbruck. He was the first of our actual jailers that I had seen since that time. And suddenly it was all there---the roomful of mocking men, the heaps of clothing, Betsie's pain-blanched face.
He came up to me as the church was emptying, beaming and bowing. "How grateful I am for your message, Fraulein." he said. "To think that, as you say, He washed my sins away!"
His hand was thrust out to shake mine. And I, who had preached so often to the people in Bloemendaal the need to forgive, kept my hand at my side.
Even as the angry, vengeful thoughts boiled through me, I saw the sin of them. Jesus Christ had died for this man; was I going to ask for more? Lord Jesus, I prayed, forgive me and help me forgive him.
I tried to smile, I struggled to raise my hand. I could not. I felt nothing, not the slightest spark of warmth or charity. And so again I breathed a silent prayer. Jesus, I cannot forgive him. Give me Your forgiveness.
As I took his hand the most incredible thing happened. From my shoulder along my arm and through my hand a current seemed to pass from me to him, while into my heart sprang a love for this stranger that almost owerwhelmed me.
And so I discovered that it is not on our forgiveness any more than on our goodness that the world's healing hinges, but on His. When He tells us to love our enemies, He gives, along with the command, the love itself.
It took a lot of love. The most pressing need in postwar Germany was homes.nine million people were said to be without them. They were living in rubble heaps, half standing builings, and abandoned army trucks. A church group invited me to speak to a hundred families living in an abandoned factory building....How could I speak to these people of the reality of God and then go back to my quiet room in the church hostel outside the city? No, before I could bring a message to them, I would have to live among them.
And it was during the months that I spent in the factory that a director of a relief organization came to see me. They had heard of my rehabilitation work in Holland, he said, and they wondered---I was opening my mouth to say that I had no professional training in such things, when his next words silenced me.
"We've located a place for the work," he said. "It was a former concentration camp that's released by the government."
We drove to Darmstadt to look over the camp. Rolls of rusting barbed wire still surrounded it. I walked up a cinder path between drab gray barracks. I pushed open a creaking door; I stepped between rows of metal cots.
"Windowboxes." I said. "We'll have them at every window. The barbed wire must come down, of course, and then we'll need paint. Green paint. Bright yellow-green, the color of things coming up new in the spring....."
BullNBear You're funny.
This post of yours is too much. LOL
It gets worse!
I'm just trying to figure stuff out. fwiw
Good guess. eom.
I guess the good Christian thing to do,
would be to cheer you up like your wife did before you went to the hospital. LOL
And you have the nerve to talk about me and the Dr.s? I don't think so bro.
Also good to know that they have a smaller tube to go in the nose. Right there, things like that, is why when I go to the hospital I don't volunteer on the admittance form anymore, anything that will link me to being a believer.
They lie, like you found out. They always bring the worse out in me!!!
I think they learned no lesson from you, unless you gave them a good lesson with your tongue, that they wish they could forget, but can't. If you're too sick dirty looks will suffice. LOL
You have wonderful sense of humor and a keen sense of praising God through all of this, that just went down. Keep clinging to the Lord bro.

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.

O God,
You are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.
I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.
My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.
Amen.

Prayers have and will be sent up for you.

I don't think Scordo is laughing over this.
I've shadowed Ken off and on since 1999. (RB) Granted he use to have a filthy mouth, and could rip a new button hole on anyones shirt he so desired. My guess is in the old days he would post tipsy too. None the less I've made $$$ from his stock picks.
Sometimes I would even find Kens post very entertaining. Like you BullNBear. I find you to be an enjoyable read. fwiw
I find Ken to be a high achiever with a triple AAA personality. lol He's honest I would say as the day is long. I think Matt got rid of Ken because Ken wanted to put a message board at OCI? (I think that's the name of Kens business.) That would cut into IHUB's business.
Ken loves $$$ but no way would he lower himself to dishonest gain. He would be too afraid God would strike him dead. LOL imho
MSC290 I know that
this post of yours is from awhile back. I wanted to share with you that if you like stats Barna Group or maybe it's called Barna Research Group is much better than this one. (or it use to be) IMHO
George Barna is the guys name if I remember right. I use to be able to spend some time on that site. lol
Your site when I checked it out (in very little time) I found it said,
"That Baptism by complete immersion in water is necessary for salvation."
There's the thief on the Cross that proves this wrong.
Anyway if you like stats try Barna Research.
(And yes excel I still love you. LOL !!! I do have to go to the Dr. soon as I've been doggin' it. I will require prayer again from the board. I will need to read the text books so I can "arm" myself in that way as well.) LOL
I find that
for the most part, that I can trust certain commentaries. Not that I agree with them all the time. :) I do and will look at what certain "theologians" have to say on what I question. For example.
Mt.1:16 NAS
Jacob was the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called the Messiah.
1:16 by whom. The word is feminine singular, indicating clearly that Jesus was born of Mary only and not of Mary and Joseph. It is one of the strongest evidences for Jesus' virgin birth.
Charles Caldwell Ryrie
Luke 3:23 NAS
When He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was about thirty years of age, being, as was supposed, the son of Joseph, the son of Eli.
3:23
Luke affirms the Virgin Birth by the phrase being, as was supposed. son of Eli. Joseph was Jacob's son by birth (Matt. 1:16) and Eli's son by marriage. This is apparently the genealogy of Jesus through His mother, Mary. See note on Matt. 1:
Charles Caldwell Ryrie
Mt. 1:16 NIV
and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
1:16
Matthew does not say that Joseph was the father of Jesus but only that he was the husband of Mary and that Jesus was born of her. In this genealogy Matthew shows that, although Jesus is not the physical son of Joseph, he is the legal son and therefore a descendant of David.
NIV Study Bible
Luke 3:23 NIV
Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph, the son of Heli,
3:23-38 There are several differences between Luke's genealogy and Matthew's (1:2-16). Matthew begins with Abraham (the father of the Jewish people), while Luke traces the line in the reverse order and goes back to Adam, showing Jesus' relationship to the whole human race (see note on 2:31). From Abraham to David, the genealogies, of Matthew and Luke are almost the same, but from David on they are different. Some scholars suggest that this is because Matthew traces the legal descent of the house of David using only heirs to the throne, while Luke traces the complete line of Joseph to David. A more likely explanation, however, is that Matthew follows the line of Joseph (Jesus' legal father) while Luke emphasizes that of Mary (Jesus' blood relative.) Although tracing a genealogy through the mother's side was unusual, so was the virgin birth. Luke's explanation here that Jesus was the son of Joseph, "so it was thought" (v23) brings to mind his explicit virgin birth statement (1:34-35) and suggests the importance of the role of Mary in Jesus' genealogy.
NIV Study Bible
3:23 NIV
about thirty years old. Luke, a historian, relates the beginning of Jesus' public ministry both to world history (see vv.1-2) and to the rest of Jesus' life. Thirty was the age when a Levite undertook his service (NU 4:47) and when a man was considered mature, so it was thought. Luke had already affirmed the virgin birth (1:34-35), and here makes clear again that Joseph was not Jesus' physical father.
NIV Study Bible
Now I have a few more study Bibles but you get the drift.
And make me not quote someone elses interpretation. :)
I don't think so.
In Matthew 1, we have the genealogy of Jesus Christ through Joseph.
In verse 11 we have Jeconiah. Who is Jeconiah? In the Old Testament he is known as Coniah. During his captivity in Babylon, the Babylonian king renamed him Jehoiachin.
It is important bcause Joseph is in the bloodline of King David through Coniah and in Jeremiah 22:30 Coniah is cursed. He is declared childless, meaning no seed of his shall ever sit on the throne of King David. Coniah had seven sons, but they and their posterity all carried the curse.. During Coniah's lifetime the Jews were taken off into captivity and have not had a king since.
If we could go to Israel in Jesus's day and ask educated Jewish Pharisees or scribes who their king is, they would say they don't have one. We could answer, "But I thought the Jews had a king. You had many kings in the past. If you had a king today, who would it be?" If the scribes and Pharisees searched the records they could have traced the kingly line to a man named Joseph, who was the legal father of Jesus. They would have to admit if Israel had a king in Jesus' time, it would have to have been Joseph, but the curse on Coniah still applied. Joseph was only royally entitled to the throne.
Was there any descendant of King David legally entitled to the throne of Israel? Tracing the genealogy of Mary beginning in Luke 3:23, the line from King David goes down through Nathan to Heli. However, Heli had no sons, only daughters. One was Mary.
In the infinite wisdom of God, Joseph, who was royally entitled to the throne of King David, is engaged to a young woman, a virgin, who is legally entitled to the throne. But Joseph is cursed, and all his children would carry the same curse. Because Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, the curse does not apply. He was not the seed of Joseph, but Joseph was Jesus' legal father, so Joseph passed his legal right to the throne to Jesus. Mary passed her royal right to the throne to Jesus.
In the Jewish economy, the father could choose whom to give the birthright to, as David chose Solomon instead of Amon, his firstborn. Joseph had this right by adoption, and he chose Jesus. So by the process of adoption, Joseph passed his legal right to the throne to Jesus, but the curse did not apply, because Jesus was not of the seed of Coniah! Jesus was entitled legally and royally to the throne of Israel and he had no children. So, the right to the throne ended in a man named Jesus! He was crucified on a hill outside of Jerusalem. There is no one alive today who is entitled to the throne of Israel except Jesus!

MSC290 I don't think so.
Your post said, "Thus, while a small number of researchers suggest that this flood covered the entire earth in vast amounts of water, most geologist agree that such a scenario is an imposiblity."
After suffering thru a few articles of reading,(this stuff is over my head) I found the perfect article for you!

Glad you asked.
I have an Archaeological Study Bible. It has the Ancient Flood Narratives in it. Atra-hasis is mentioned. If I want to know more I have to See 2"Humaniy and the Divine: Comparing the Bible to the Myth of Atra-Hasis on page 1176. I'm not doing it. All these myth stories are so jack backwards for me.
You might like an even earier version, known as the Eridu Genesis with Ziusudra. lol I'm not reading anymore about that story either.
Moving right a long. I went to google. I can't remember what I typed in. It's late. I found this site. I don't know if it's reputable or not. Never been there before. Not my bag. Anyway it said, "I also found the shape of the anomaly appears to fit on a circle. I am not sure what this means, if anything, but I find it curious."
In the NIV Study Bible Gen.6:14 the footnote says. ark. The Hebrew for this word is used elsewhere only in reference to the basket that saved the baby Moses. (Ex2:3,5)
Then on the site it said, ""very rugged looking strato-volcanic rock, however, the texture of the feature in question is relatively smooth and appears to be made of a different substance.
My guess is maybe?Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
(Who would know what "all the fountains of the great deep broken up" would look like then or now.)
Now I'm not saying this site or what it says is true. I just find this topic interesting. I have read two books on Noah's Ark over the years and just a few weeks ago picked up another book at a used book store.
BTW The Bible says "the LORD shut him in" Gen.7:16

126 hours made me laugh. I wonder if I could get one from home? :)
Before I join a church or attend on a regular basis I always ask or find out the name of the college the preacher came out of.
On another note, I had a friend once who while he was in prison he got his high school diploma for one carton of cigarettes. When he got out of prison it flew just fine.
I could tell you some more stories but I don't want to bore you. Think I did that enough tonight. LOL!
Good to hear! eom
That was interesting...
Especially when this came to my mind.

I introduced myself, and to convert what might have become a slightly awkward exchange into a conversation, I asked him whether he knew that Hebrew was the Lord's language. It turned out that he did not know a great deal about his faith or its language, but he was inquisitive about what I meant.
Well to quote Sir William Bradford, the second governor of the Plymouth colony, Hebrew
is the language in which God spoke to the patriarchs of old,'"I explained. "More than merely a medium of communication between man and man, like most languages, Hebrew is also one of the means of transmission between God and man.
Just thought I would share.
tenac you said,
"Is this not a place to do exactly the same things for others that we do in that building that we call church?"
NO
We do not baptize here.
We do not marry people here.
We do not share Communion (The Lords supper) here.
We do not receive offerings here to help the needy in the congregation or in the community, nor send out money to missions.
We do not perform funerals here.
We do not gather at a set time for Worship or for prayer meetings.
We do not have a childrens ministry nor a vacation Bible school for children, or other ministries churches provide.
Mt.9:37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
We do not have to submit ourselves under authority to those in headship over us here, like at church. (Preachers, deacons, elders, etc.)
Perhaps I'm taking this wrong,
What do you mean by "Gods house"?
This is a message board. imho
Yes Lord, Yes,

And we need to keep in mind; all our lives are as fragile as glass.
One thing for sure is...
God is on the throne,
He is in control,
And He will take care of it.
And may His name be GLORIFIED.

I will pray too...
and I will remember for sure Jan. 5th as it's my birthday.
Do know I will be praying for you!
masko In the Greek language,
God's Love is called Agape. Agape represents something greater than what most of us can even imagine because Agape is God, and no one can really fully comprehend God.
The Greek word Agape was coined exclusively for its specific use in the New Testament. Every time it's used in Scripture it means, without exception, God's pure and divine Love. Besides the Bible, there is no other usage of the word Agape in literature. (There is one exception--a couterfeit.)
...The only other usage of the word Agape appears in literature as a perfect counterfeit to the Trinity of the Bible.
Agape was another name for the Egyptian goddess, Isis, whose center of worship was Rome. Isis, her husband Osiris (known as the word logos), and their son Hermes were classically called the trinity throughout history. It is said that Isis' supernatural and divine powers superceded that of all the other deities combined.

Understanding God's Love
There are hints in the New Testament itself that, while the apostles were yet living, and under their own supervision, collections of their writings began to be made for the churches and placed with the Old Testament as the Word of God.
(If you want the Scripture to this I'll give it to you)
The apostles, it seems, wrote many letters with the immediate needs of the churches in mind. As to which of those letters were to be preserved for future ages, we believe that God Himself watched over the matter and made His own choice.
The New Testament books were written in widely seperated countries.
Palestine
Asia Minor
Greece
Crete
Rome
...Moreover, beginning with Emperor Nero in A.D. 64, it was an age of persecution, when precious Christian writinigs had to be kept hidden. And there were as yet no church councils or conferences, where Christians from distant parts could come together and compare notes on what writings they had, until the days of Emperor Constantine (A.D. 306-37). So, naturally, the earliest collections of New Testament books would vary in different regions; and the process of reaching unanimity as to what books properly belonged in the New Testament was slow.
Besides the books that would ultimately be accepted as canonical New Testament books, there were many others that ranged from good to silly to fraudulent. Some of these were so fine and valuable that they were for a while, in some areas, regarded as Scripture. Ultimately, the one criterion by which a book was judged before acceptance into the canon was whether it was of genuine apostolic origin, written either by an apostle, or under the auspices of an apostle, It was not always easy to determine this, especially in the cases of lesser-known books from a distant region.

Everyone is different. By Dr. Henry H. Halley from Halley's Bible Handbook
How did we end up with the 66 books in the Bible?
How did the Bible as we have it--66 books, written over a period of more than 1,500 years---come together?
The 66 books that are included in all Bibles are called the canon of the Bible (the books are therefore referred to as the canonical books.) "Canon" means "rule or standard." and the canonical books are those that have been formally accepted by the church as part of the inspired Word of God.
Most Protestant Bibles contain only the 66 canonical books, but some Protestant Bibles as well as Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Bibles also include books that are not part of the canon but are considered "good to read." These are the Aprocrypha, or aprocryphal books (from a Greek word meaning "obscure, secret").
I'm the last person here who can explain the canon to you or the Apocrypha. I hold to the canon. fwiw

2 Timothy 3:16 KJ
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
John 7:24 KJ
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
By Jay E. Adams
Not only are there situations of all sorts in which judging is essenial, but the Scriptures specifically command believers to make judgments (cf John 7:24). The passage only condemns illegitimate judging. Christ assumed that Christians would find it necesary to judge others, and in Mathew 7 was therefore specifically directing them how to do so. The passage in question condemns judging in a hasty manner, without evidence. Judging others before straightening up one's own life is also forbidden. Judging intended to denouce another in order to raise one's own ego is condemned...
Mt.7:1
JUDGE NOT, that ye be not judged. KJ
I heard once.. that this is the non believers favorite passage.

God's Call
By Brother Andrew with Verne Becker

The first shipment of one hundred thousand New Testaments arrived in Moscow during the first week of December 1988, just in time to close out the Russian Orthodox Church's millennial year. The ceremony in which I officially presented the "first" Bible took place on January 13, 1989, in the partially restored Danilov Monastery. The beautiful old facility, which serves as the Russian church's headquarters, had been confiscated by the communist during Stalin's rule and only recently had been given back.
I said that the New Testaments were a gift from Christians in the West to mark the millennium of the Russian Orthodox Church. I also spoke of the gifts the Russian church had to offer to the West--their love, their faith, and their endurance.....
After I spoke, several church leaders came forward to respond...
Then Father Borovoi went on to give a striking bit of Russian church history that I'd never heard before. "[The millennium of our church] is the occasion for the gift, but it is a very symbolic occasion. This is because of the brother who has offered the gift--Andrew"
He turned and pointed to a large painting on the wall behind him. "Christianity in our country," he continued, "was introduced by the apostle Andrew. You can see him there in that painting. According to tradition, he was the first to come to Russia in order to preach the gospel of our Lord. Our church considers itself to be the church of the apostle Andrew. He brought Christianity to the Greek-Roman world, and you, with your books and activities, are a continuation of that apostleship. The acts of the apostle Andrew go on, and this is a continuation that we welcome in our country.
"However...it is not only you and our Western brothers who must print these New Testaments and distribute them here. I think it is our task--the most important task of our church--to continue and to print Bibles ourselves. We have done it six times, but that was not sufficient for the fifty million Bibles that our people need. This is our clear duty and task because without this, because without [the Bible], our church, which is so rich in spirituality, would not be a church."
....The final consignment arrived in early 1990. During the first week of March, I went back to Moscow to present the "last" New Testament to Patriarch Aleksi, the new head of the Russian Orthodox Church.
... We returned to the Danilov Monastery with Patriarch Aleksi, and a closing ceremony in Aleksi's private chapel. He was a man of at least my age, with a long gray beard. He wore black vestments, a white headdress, and a large medallion on a chain around his neck. We both gave brief speeches, and then I presented Patriarch Aleksi the one millionth New Testament. I also gave him a copy of God's Smuggler.
"This is the last of the first one million," I said to him. "I hope I'll never have to smuggle Bibles into Russia again."
He nodded in agreement as he graciously accepted the books. Then he said, "Andrew, can we pray together?"
We went into his private chapel and stood before a wall of beautiful icons known as iconostasis, which have for centuries been part of the Russian Orthodox style of worship.
"Let us pray the Lord's Prayer together," he said, "you in Dutch and I in Russian."
As we prayed out loud, and I heard us both say, "Our Father" in our own languages, it suddenly hit me: We Christians are all one family. In spite of this man's language and culture and appearance, his heart is just as hungry for the love of God as mine is.
Sorry for typos
(Got to love Brother Andrew)
