Guys - I saw your comments on the Symantec/Juniper announcement. Lets make a few things clear. First of all this is far from a merger. They are collaborating on security offerings, not merging companies. Secondly, they made the announcement on perimeter security not me. Third, Symantec is far from a thought leader on the TCG/TNC standards, Juniper is. Also, Symantec recently announced they were getting out of the security appliance market. Their IDS/IPS technology is 2nd tier at best. Their bread and butter cash cow, anti-virus is under attack from Microsoft. On top of this Cisco (who is Juniper and every other network infrastructure company's biggest nightmare)is hitting them hard on security as well with their CSA product against Sygate. This deal is really about them trying to join up in an anybody but Cisco deal. Lets see what really comes from it. I think the key for the TCG/TNC is to enlist other Cisco competitors to be more active. I am involved in this. If you would like more insight, you can email me or comment on the blog.
thanks for reading the blog, btw, I am flattered
