so lucent is not alcatel quite yet. However, saying Juniper and Lucent/alcatel are joined at the hip is not quite right. Juniper has a much better relationship with avaya. Partnering for a switch is not what Juniper needs, they need to own it. As far as Juniper being bought, Motorola was the one mentioned, but with their buy of symbol, i dont know anymore.
