You guys might recall that when Missling exercised and retained 232,000 shs it was @ $8. per share (not so long ago), so he is back to a flat cost basis on those shares!
😍

ha ha you got me!
I thought I dealt with it OK since I did answer the 1st part correctly in that stocks go "parabolic" and indexes and etf's don't (which does not eliminate the influence group leadership that those have on stocks in that group)....in the 2nd part, I did admit to a possible "hype" on my part 😔....finally, we should, at least, consider this while waiting for a surprise to happen!
Steady T
Yes, me too! Cheers
mrplmer
You make some very good points, so I hope it works out by end of December for that "surprise"....I agree that he lacks what a large company expects from a high end CEO and how they execute and communicate!
Joseph K
Stocks go parabolic, normally NOT indexes or etf's....I think I might have hyped up my comment, but why not consider it? Did did add a question mark to it, right?
😄
Citrati
Yes, it is concerning....but notice what CVS is doing now with drug prices....who knows but politics are politics!....just got back from my brother's house, he is dealing with medical problems with his wife....
mrplmer:
I thought Missling said end of December....maybe he was in error.

Yes, that question about Flomax was asked by my doctor and I did, indeed, take it when I was around 45 years old, so he took that into account on my pre-op visit when I had the 1st eye done....the PRK surgery was more worrisome since they had to make sure that the lens implant had adjustments based on that.
Parabolic Potential???

I think Dew's reply to you is correct: it's either a moon shot or bankruptcy!
Hope you are doing well!

PS.....Still waiting on $SWAV...
Yes, red solo cups with beer is a common practice at colleges around the country!
Gotta warn my 3 granddaughters who are attending the same university about drinking (surely) with their sorority girls!!!
😫
Tom:
It was easy for me, had my left eye done in August and now on Dec 12th, I get the right eye done...my only difficulty is that I have diabetes (under good control...A1c is 6,2) also, I had PRK surgery both eyes many years ago but eventually needed reading glasses....my left eye only needs readers +150....and the same should happen with the right eye (currently need +375)....bottomline: distance no need for correction, but will require readers....I did not go for total correction because of my age!
BTW, my calendar is FULL with doctor appointments...ha ha
Best, Steve
Traders will move if they are going positive, the price and volume are the key, imo...naturally breaking above resistance needs to happen....VOLUME and PUSH
Good analysis!
Let's give it wait and see....sometimes one must just figure out when and where to take a shot!
I personally believe that we are at a Big Inflection spot.....using the weekly charts give the best view for investors at this point...looking at AVXL the weekly shows the trendline resistance level clearly with the spike high levels where a line can be drawn, it stands out & you can just "eyeball it"...I don't even need charts, I can just look and see the standout levels. If AVXL pushes higher from here, it might just explode beyond that 10 level, there is a sweep up channel...perfect set up.
As far as the XBI is concerned...I made the comment several weeks ago that many portfolio managers know that groups that did not do well in any giveThe XBI has taken out the 200 day on the daily and is right on the verge of breaking the 50 week (1 yr) sma...n year, do very well in the new year & I realize that the biotech group has done poorly for several....anyway, I think 2024 will be strong for this group.
boi568
Thanks for your response and I totally missed the word connection: "study" vs "trial"....you are sharper than I am, but that's why I listen to every side of the arguments being posted!
I have to lean towards what makes common sense to me & so I am with you on this!
BTW, many lawyers twist words around, but I think you don't....😌
I doubt very much that a CEO would go to the EMA, AU, or FDA
with a bag of tricks, rather that person would bring everything possible to convince them that they have promise...48 weeks of data and OLE seems logical to me; waiting longer 96 weeks might be needed....or.....not!
Check the price, volume and any and ALL prior reversal levels and place your bet on a favorable outcome; or you can wait for an unfilled gap to happen. Yes, we might have a downswing/pull back...but something leads me to believe that the push points to higher levels. I've been wrong before, so I am used to it....my plan is to expect and anticipate the prevailing trend after been convinced of it being UP!

I certainly agree with you about where the stock is; and so far we have been able to hold above the 200 day for a quick back test to that important price level yet for only one day.
Should we be able to move even higher and towards $9.50 which is prior resistance with a sudden reversal, I think we might see a sharp ramp up!...yes, parabolic is still able to happen!!!!
Let's see if we are able to punch it and progress higher....the news will follow, hopefully good news!
There is a very nice channel holding up, so it's quite "possible" that $AVXL might go parabolic...the low end started at 5.50 with no touches to that lower line which is positive; rather the topside of the channel is "hugging near the highs", so this area also touches the 200 day sma offering support...crazy but I assume a run towards $9.50......or........I'm dead wrong.....have fun for the next 30 minutes!!! :)
I gotta admit....holding up for this long (3 1/2 hours) without a sharp drop is very impressive to my eyes, but there is time for possibly another SURPRISE to the upside!
Maybe someone else can debate LOI and the odds some more, for me price, volume & breaking through the resistance clear away doubt!
Good to hear from you, Tom! Yes, that $8 level plus or minus is a very tough spot and most can see that the 200 day sma on the daily running into some stiff resistance...using the Weekly Chart you can see that the 50 week (1 yr) is also offering big resistance...so if nothing else "respect those levels of resistance" on the moving averages and prior resistance...seems simple even for non-believers!
I'm fighting bad pain right now in both hips and lower back and get my 1st shot on 12/18...also get my 2nd cataract surgery on 12/12 before that...my wife thinks I'm overdoing it....ha ha
BTW, that Maria Maccechinni (CEO of ANVS) is so "open" and seems to me to be a great CEO...always willing to keep investors posted. Maybe Missling will follow her example in the near future! About 2 weeks ago AVXL was trading at a price premium of appx 50 cents over ANVS when she made an open market buy and now ANVS is selling at a $2.00 premium over AVXL...
Stay healthy, my friend, and try a Modelo..............Cheers.......Steve
Quite some resistance here at the 200 day sma....maybe a pause or SURPRISE! ha ha
Yes, I agree with that & the jury is still out on Chris Missling on either his fear of stepping into a legal attack and keeping things very close to vest.
My problem with him is his inability to be clear with investors and come within "normal medical protocols" on data reporting...
He has fumbled enough, time to execute properly...Companies get big by being guided properly and being honest with investors and they stand out! Examples: Walmart, HomeDepot, Costco, McDonald's, Morgan Stanley (because I worked there and saw how they have performed against the likes of Goldman Sachs & others)
My hope is that Dr. Jin is giving him good advice!
It seems pretty clear to me that Missling did actually have a Letter of Intent submitted, but that he does not want to be accused of pumping for legal considerations.....until accepted as such! I've had enough of legal statements and misstatements, so it is best to avoid that until it is accepted as fact.
boi568
That's very clear especially your step-by-step illustration provided..thanks!
Although I was not here in 2015, I can understand Missling's strategy of avoiding any degree of "pumping" at this point for legal reasons.
I also agree that this current phase of progress is in fact a "Letter of Intent"
steady t
that's a clean cut reply...your explanation clears out the need for "precision medicine" in this case! thanks!
Thanks, I understand the logic of extending the "safety factor" but my reasoning points to already convincing safety data over 1 year (seems pretty long enough for me and should be used with ongoing observation of the patient under treatment.
Why not ask the patient who wants it to give it a try?
Little Joe From Kokomo
Like going for a hard four rather than an easier point like 8 or 9 in craps...RETT first, Alzheimer's second seems most logical to me....Also, why wait for the FDA?
Gimme Europe approval, those guys can move faster and need to do it for their populations.
We and many others here totally agree with that....let's get RETT approval and then see what happens.
If 48 weeks is long enough (1 year) why do we actually require 96 weeks? Seems to me that a good safety record with no AEs should be convincing unless that's what the FDA actually requires...
Seems true, but was it the CRO to blame.....or? It's very easy to point fingers at someone who is unable to respond, right?
Good counterpoint...since those high percentages of carryover approvals are pretty convincing to me!
I don't think it was a slip up, he explained himself by saying that he is currently waiting (as everyone else is)....but I do think that the EMA has at least pointed to better odds by allowing this to go forward.
I will have to admit that I have had all of the covid vaccines and also the RSV shot....during Christmas of 2022, I did get Covid and it took me until mid Feb to recover. I was never sick from 2019 until 2022....in Sept of this year I had the RSV shot and within 3 days had a terrible auto immune flare up which then triggered other problems with my back etc.....since I have other medical conditions that may have impacted me, it's impossible to connect all of the dots. In Oct of this year, I took the flu shot and covid shot, so who knows....but I have ongoing medical problems right now!
I visit my oncologist Dec. 14th and had 8 vials of blood taken (Dec 1st) to see if there is any connection, basically I told my wife that I will no longer take anything until I am clear on my current lousy feelings....
I really hope this does not affect my children and grandchildren....
Citrati
Excellent view of the overhead resistance, hope we break through and "stick"....big potential, but one step at a time! Cheers
I agree with that totally & I remain in the camp that he offers more information than many here who think his observations are only geared to offset the bullish "locked in opinion" here.
So maybe I and some are misguided, but I sense that he offers a more informed analysis..
I am long, but willing to listen to different opinions unless I feel that they offer zero information.....he offers sensible argument.

Appreciate your thoughts on these things, especially your inclinations to incoming data points!
Yes, support and resistance levels are extremely important and the lack of follow through should be respected in the meantime, but T/A is what I have used during my past career especially in commodity trading which is more a reflection of supply & demand albeit with commercial efforts to control prices.
Some fundamental analysts do respect some technical input and oftentimes use that when giving their entry and exit points.
I really rely on things you discuss and wish more here would just listen and not try to fit you into "a category" without giving credit to your knowledge base which is WAY ABOVE most here!
George, I believe you are correct on that!
Indexes, ETF's etc do have a habit of closing gaps, but there are many stocks which do not!
Citrati
I never buy into any unrealistic target like $54....My targets are very conservative and I also use one step at a time....I think my post 1st pointed to $8 which is heavy resistance, over that then: $9.50....pretty reasonable and just using support and resistance and high spike levels.
Anyone with eyeballs can see it!
Tomorrow might prove to be interesting, so I remain a "closet bull"...ha ha....let's see that $8 level busted with extreme volume conviction...
