I’m more interested in Frain’s response around the 36’ mark… RFP’s they are responding to, and awards in the coming months, lots of activity, etc.
I’m not certain but I spent awhile looking for the patents…I did come across some info stating Provisional Patents are only published very rarely, less than 3 circumstances. So I am assuming because these patents are supporting patents (children) of the original (parent) I do not believe we will see them until approved (if we are lucky). 🙁
Unfortunately if they are anything like the USPTO … could take years

If you are seeking patent protection in a number of countries worldwide, a good option is to file an international application under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), administered by WIPO. Any resident or national of a state party to the PCT (contracting state) can file a single international application which has the effect of a national patent application (and certain regional patent applications) in some or all PCT contracting states. In some cases, this can be a more straightforward choice than choosing to try to submit individual applications in each and every country in which you require protection. Find out more about the PCT System.

pleased to announce that its HEXWAVE system was selected by Manchester-Boston Regional Airport ("MHT" or the "Airport") to deploy the HEXWAVE to meet the TSA's National Amendment for Aviation Worker Security Screening.
Strategically situated in the heart of New England, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is located less than fifty miles north of Boston, Massachusetts, and less than an hour's drive from the region's most popular ski areas, scenic seacoast beaches and peaceful lakefront resorts. MHT is the premier aviation gateway for the region and was recently named #1 Best Domestic Airport in the country by Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards 2023.
With the recent release of the TSA mandate to implement screening for aviation workers, airports will need technologies that provide a broad range of threat detection that can meet the current screening requirements and those mandated for the future.
"As industry leaders, we are excited to acquire the HEXWAVE system to use in our broader airport security program," said MHT Airport Director Ted Kitchens, A.A.E. "The portability of the HEXWAVE solution will provide enhanced security in non-traditional areas of the airport. We are excited to work with Liberty Defense, as we are continually looking to innovate and improve the overall safety of our airport."

IBM is preparing to invest heavily in its 800-acre semiconductor packaging and testing plant
The federal and Quebec governments are spending close to $100 million to boost the country’s manufacturing capacity for semiconductors, which are vital in technologies ranging from artificial intelligence to quantum computing.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told reporters today in Bromont, Que., that Ottawa will invest $59.9 million to help fund IBM Canada’s semiconductor packaging facility in the town about 70 kilometres southeast of Montreal. He says the investment will also go toward the Bromont-based MiQro Innovation Collaborative Centre, a research group that tries to speed up the commercialization of components in digital technologies.
Quebec, for its part, is offering IBM Canada $38.9 million in loans to help the company buy equipment, increase capacity at its Bromont plant, and create a new generation of switches. A news release from the federal government says the funding from both levels of government will help create 280 jobs in the region.
IBM Canada says its plant in Bromont is one of the continent’s largest chip assembly and testing facilities and that the money will solidify Canada’s place in the supply chain for advanced packaging of semiconductors.

is pleased to announce that its HEXWAVE™ system has been purchased by a major international airport in New York to support its aviation worker security screening program.
"We are thrilled to have received the award following a public tender and to be chose to support the airports aviation worker screening requirements," said Bill Frain, CEO of Liberty Defense. "The flexibility and comprehensive detection capability that HEXWAVE offers are driving widespread interest in the system from across the aviation sector. It is highly portable and can be rapidly deployed both indoors and outdoors to seamlessly facilitate screening in various areas of the airport."
In April 2023, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) issued an Airport Security Program National Amendment, which will require U.S. airport to adopt physical screening procedures for employees with access to secure-side areas.
HEXWAVE enables rapid, automated, high-throughput screening using a contactless, walkthrough portal that can detect a diverse range of threats well beyond what enhanced metal detectors on the market can detect. It uses millimeter wave, advanced 3D imaging, and AI to detect all types of concealed threats, including both metal and non-metal items, liquids, powders, plastic explosives, 3D-printed ghost guns, and other novel threats or prohibited items – without the passenger having to divest common items like keys, wallets, or phones

EU's Gigabit Infrastructure Act gets final green light
https://www.telecoms.com/regulation/eu-s-gigabit-infrastructure-act-gets-final-green-light
https://www.reddit.com/r/EdgewaterWireless/s/DgkqBzJ2Jy
“
There can be no doubt that the act will help network builders. It includes provisions to speed up the process of obtaining permits from landowners, albeit at a more watered-down level than many had hoped, and to run networks into buildings, for example. It also includes an extension to intra-EU retail price caps, which were due to expire on 14 May. The current caps of €0.19 per minute for voice calls and €0.06 per SMS message will now run until 30 June 2032. The EU is aiming for full gigabit coverage by 2030 and 5G networks in all populated areas by 2030. It recently published a State of the Digital Decade report which showed that at present fibre networks reach just 56% of households, while 5G covers 81% of the population, dropping to 51% in rural areas. So there's certainly some way to go, particularly when you consider that much of the low-hanging fruit has already been picked.
The EU has often quoted a figure of €200 billion as the necessary investment required to meet its coverage targets, so there's much more at play here than rules governing permitting and so forth.
Industry bodies ETNO, ECTA, GIGAEurope and the GSMA have made their feelings clear on the act in recent months: namely that the content of the act has been diluted far too much compared with what was first presented by the European Commission in early 2023. The industry is now looking to the next Commission – elections are due to take place later this year – for further development of infrastructure rules.

is pleased to announce that it has shipped commercial units of its HEXWAVE™ system to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and to Subic Bay Airport in the Philippines, expanding its international customer base with the support of its distributor network.
…
"We continue to see growing demand for HEXWAVE from airports and other high-security facilities, not just in North America, but from overseas as well, particularly as the world continues to face geopolitical tensions and threats of terrorism," said Bill Frain, CEO of Liberty Defense. "As we expand our footprint globally, we are working closely with distribution partners to ensure we can effectively serve markets throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia."
Liberty strategically partners with experienced and established companies in foreign markets to provide additional sales and service support to international customers. These partners have deployed thousands of security systems for baggage screening and HEXWAVE is a perfect complement to these technologies offering on-person screening.

I lowered the count on my order, but I don’t expect it to go through after that article…

Liberty Receives Formal Approval from Canadian Government for Immediate Deployment of HEXWAVE

is pleased to announce that the HEXWAVE™ product was granted a formal equipment authorization approval from the Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), another important milestone for Liberty's ultra-wideband technology. This certification allows the Company to deploy HEXWAVE for commercial and government applications throughout Canada.
…
Radio Frequency devices are required to be properly authorized before marketing and deploying the product in Canada. ISED Canada certification is a mandatory process for any radio equipment that wants to be sold or imported into Canada. This certification ensures that the equipment meets all the technical requirements and safety standards set by ISED Canada. This certainly can prove to be a barrier to entry in the securities market.
"This is an important milestone for HEXWAVE, allowing the Company to deliver product into Canada, a growing market for enhanced on person screening applications" said Bill Frain, Liberty's CEO. "We already have orders in the region and plan to start delivering units in April given this important certification."
In addition, the Company's Chairman and Executive Director, Daryl Rebeck, will be presenting a Company update at the International Investment Forum (IIF) at 1:00 EST on April 17th, 2024. Please feel free to register now at:

In a January 2024 presentation, an Evolv sales manager cited the Super Bowl as an event where Evolv detectors were set to deliberately miss guns to reduce false alarms:
So where we've used like a B setting is at the perimeter of the Super Bowl. So we wanted to make sure nobody coming into this enclosed area had a press trigger bomb or an AR-15. But you know, maybe they had, you know, a 38 [caliber pistol].
…
A statement from Tim Schlittner, NFL Director of Communications, asserted that - contrary to having done "a fair amount of Super Bowls" - Evolv has "never done gameday perimeter security at any Super Bowl." Furthermore, "They are not contracted to work at the upcoming Draft."
Evolv did not respond to IPVM's request for comment on its claims of NFL use and the NFL's response.

Pentagon Scraps Plan to Spend $2.5 Billion on Intel Grant

It’s the latest complication for the Chips Act, which became law in 2022. The Commerce Department has emphasized that it doesn’t want to give any company a penny more than needed. The agency only has $39 billion in grant funding to build a portfolio of projects spanning large-scale manufacturing, smaller-scale supply chain efforts, and commercial research and development.
That’s a lot of taxpayer money, but it’s a drop in the bucket for the overall chip industry. Advanced chipmakers alone have requested more than double the money set aside for them. And more than 600 firms have expressed interest in federal grants. The Commerce Department also has a loans and guarantees pool worth $75 billion, but the companies aren’t all interested in that financing.
…
The Commerce Department has already announced three awards to firms that manufacture older-generation chips, including a $1.5 billion grant to GlobalFoundries, which is among the top suppliers of older processors to the US military.
GlobalFoundries lobbied against the defense provision for Intel as government funding bills moved through Congress last week, according to people familiar with the matter. Some lawmakers have also expressed concerns about relying on just one company — Intel — to make cutting-edge chips for the most sensitive US government applications.
Right Approach?
In a statement, GlobalFoundries said it doesn’t believe Intel’s sole Secure Enclave designation is the right solution.
“GlobalFoundries has been a secure chip provider for decades,” a company spokesperson said. “We appreciate the US government’s effort to address the challenge. We have a proven approach.”
The Chips Act received bipartisan support, fueled by concern that a faltering domestic semiconductor industry was a national security problem — particularly in light of Washington’s growing rivalry with Beijing.

Liberty Receives Formal Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Approval for HEXWAVE
https://www.reddit.com/r/LibertyDefense/s/tQOcw9PSvu
“
is pleased to announce that the HEXWAVE™ product was granted a formal equipment authorization approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), another important milestone for it's ultra-wideband product technology. The Company previously had an FCC Waiver in place.
…
The Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) administers the equipment authorization program under the authority delegated to it by the FCC. This program is one of the principal ways the FCC ensures that Radio Frequency (RF) devices used in the United States operate effectively without causing harmful interference and otherwise comply with the FCC's rules. All RF devices subject to equipment authorization must comply with the FCC's technical requirements. This certainly can prove to be a barrier to entry in the securities market.
"This is an important milestone for the New Production Unit, allowing the Company to deliver product to non-government/commercial customers" said Bill Frain, Liberty's CEO. "We continue to receive orders in several market verticals in the commercial space given the HEXWAVE's ability to detect a broader range of threats, including non-metallic items."
