Hello all....I guess I was correct in believing this stock may ultimately benefit my grandchildren after all...LOL.
The one thing that is actually pissing me off is that I am sure Iconix did not just fork over $70 mil blindly. They had to have been provided audited financials among other information regarding DANS. It would appear to me that we should be treated just as well, if not better, than Iconix. As a shareholder/owner I should think I should have the same info as Iconix had before they shelled out the money. Have to remember....before they shelled out the money, they were just like anyone else walking the streets....absolutely no connection to Danskin at all !!!!
It does seem that the downward pressure has more or less evaporated.
Have been holding for quite some time....don't see any logical reason not to continue doing so.......
Retired yes, but not too old yet...although every once in a while this 57 year old body has a tendency to remind my brain of all the wear and tear it has endured over the years...LOL.
As far as the weekend goes, I am heading up to Maine in the AM, so I considered tomorrow the start of the weekend...:)
SLOJAB.....
"Need news here soon. Neither John Sarto nor Carol Hochman responded to my emails asking if they would be improving shareholder communication in the near future."
This can be considered a response in a perverse way....LOL.
Have a great weekend all!!!!
Glad to see you still have your sense of humor, CASH...:)
I must admit that this trading is absolutely crazy to me. I didn't think there was anything near the number of shares outstanding that were bought at higher prices than this to warrant selling at these prices.....they could have been dumped in the 20's to the 40's. Everything else has been held for years, at prices lower than this. If you've held that long, why bother selling now when the best times are ahead ?
What am I missing?...LOL. At least we are getting some good volume lately...:)
OT....did not want to mislead....the shirt is $12.95, the stock is a penny stock with $70 million cash in the bank !!
OT...cute. Funny you should mention DANS in that context, though. Defense department approached DANS about them
developing a fabric which would help benefit our troops in IRAQ. They did, it was tested, and is now available at every PX....and the Marines love it....$12.95...great deal!!!!
OT.....speaking about storms NY, I have noticed some of the hurricane stocks have seemed to start attracting attention, and have begun their annual move a little earlier than usual !
Well VIC, Lebed had a pretty good reason to pump the stock....somebody paid him to do it :) I just wonder if the person that paid him actually got their money's worth!!!
With all due respect BUZZ, I don't think this stock has ever been sub-penny, so I don't think it is something to be concerned about. If you are accustomed to reading/posting on sub penny boards, I can understand that this one may be quite different to you.
Also, this stock does not need to be 'pumped'. It needs exposure, nothing more. If anyone looks at the facts, and cannot see what an excellent opportunity is before them, CASH's 'enthusiasm' is not going to be the decisive factor in their decision to buy
Maybe someone took their deposit bottles back for refunds, and didn't know what to do with all that money...LOL.
I think the problem is more that the stock has been dark for so long that it is not on anyone's radar. My thoughts are that this is quite a unique stock, in that it sits among thousands of pinkies.....not the place the average investor is looking.
The way this stock is going to move, in my opinion, is first for the typical pinkie day trader and flipper to discover it. Let them see all the facts and DD CASH and others have done a great job in gathering....all verifiable and public. No worries about whether it is a scam, a pump and dump, etc....and has been around since 1882. Take a look at the 20 most popular boards here on I-HUB, and if you add up all the time some of the most popular ones have been around, you MAY come up with a couple of years (and we know they won't be here in another couple...LOL). Yet, those stocks are generating hundreds and hundreds of thousands of shares trading hands in a matter of hours. Can you imagine that kind of interest here...on a stock with a price very similar to an AURC or USSE?
Once that interest is initially here, just think that a tiny fraction of the traders and flippers will see the true value and decide to become investors...and they tell their friends and family members.
After all, the more people who want a stock, the more it is worth....and with this one, as opposed to a normal pinkie, there are NOT that many shares available.
Too bad we can't divert everyone on other boards over to this board for a mere couple of minutes. Once they see it...understand it....they will buy it.
It will happen sooner or later.......
Not a problem....there are too many women wearing Danskin that shouldn't be, would hate to see a St. Bernard in spandex...LOL
I wouldn't complain if it went up....<smile>
I was basically trying to point out that there is absolutely no reason for the PPS to be falling, if we know that right now it is worth 3x more to somebody...
The price doesn't matter....look what happened when they announced .38....the price started crashing. Everyone here should know by now that a stock is only worth what someone is willing to pay for....that is the sole determinant. So here we have supposedly a legit offer of .38 which means that the price should be approaching that figure. Instead, the actual price is running away from that figure....which means the market does not believe it one bit.
By all rights management has the responsibility to see that their stock approaches fair value....in this case .38, since someone is willing to pay that for it after doing far more DD than anyone here ever could. Yet, not one word from them to say yes, that is what we are worth, or no, we are worth more and this is how we are going to get the PPS up there.
I am sure that the next PR will merely say "we do not believe that this buyout price would be in the best interests of our shareholders, so we have rejected the bid." At that time they have an obligation to shareholders to inform them of what they believe is fair value, and how they intend to get the share price to reflect it.
So far, this looks SOOOO MUCH like Nord Oil all over again....LOL...and I cannot believe that everyone fell for it again. At least the con men didn't decide to hurt the investors nearly as bad this time.
Take a look at the facts, people. On April 2, the company already knew the bid for the stock, as they announced that THE BIDDER only wanted to verify certan facts. On April 18 they announced that THE BIDDER was satisfied after their DD, and that they would follow thru with the deal. This whole stall was designed to give certain people time to liquidate their holdings before the announcement and fall in share price.
The way I see it, if the management of AURC was legit and actually knew the 'value' of their company, they could have revealed the offer and began negotiations. Let's face it, AURC management knew at that moment what they were worth, and that DD on the part of THE BIDDER was only a formality to see whether or not AURC was hiding anything. Does anyone really believe that they would find out anything on their own that would have caused them to RAISE their bid.
It is amazing to me how supposed 'investors' are so easily led around like sheep by management and certain posters...long live the PINKS...LOL
Okay CASH....with all due respect....does that 'cup and handle' and all the other technical stuff that you are educated about really work ? <smile>
I don't doubt my investment here at all. In fact, of my total holdings, I have had 40k since 2002 or so. The only thing I cannot seem to wrap my brain around, is why, with such a huge insider holding, they seem reluctant to capitalize on the present news. No matter how wealthy an individual may be, there is not one logical reason that I have ever discovered to account for anyone not wanting their wealth to be valued at fair value!!!!
That has always been the case with DANS.....everybody has heard of it, and nobody knows anything about it. Sort of makes you cringe when you visit so many boards during the day and see millions of shares of borderline scams trading hands....everyone hoping they aren't the ones holding when the music stops....LOL.
I think one of the reasons I enjoy this board is because we are not at each other's throats....humor is a good thing!!!!!!!
They also do roofing year round down in Florida. Roofing is big big business down there.
CASH....don't have a subscription...use my E-mail....thebronxcowboy@yahoo.com. Anyone else can use it as well, just don't go writing it on bathroom walls, even if you don't agree with me at times here or on other boards...LOL
That was my point....we all do what we enjoy and feel comfortable with.
Just out of curiousity, how long would you stay in a stock, and what kind of profits do you look for ? Pennies, fractions of pennies ?
Actually, what makes this board different from most penny stocks is the ABSENCE of anyone being labeled a basher or pumper.....as this stock doesn't really need either. There are no questions about this being a real company, and all the facts, or lack thereof, are out there for all to see or not see.....LOL. The only decision to be made regarding DANS is whether you want to hold the stock or not....which happens to be a pretty straightforward decision once you actually know your goals and comfort level.
It's not something I would complain about...LOL
Might see a bounce Monday AM after the bad storms down south Friday and Saturday....maybe get the season started a little early.
I just love it when a plan starts coming together. A whole new marketing campaign and new lines in the works...
Nice find, CASH.....maybe that is why they decided to do it now...LOL. (Didn't think you read Woman's Wear Daily....had you figured for MAD Magazine...WHAT! ME WORRY)
FWIW guys....just keep in mind that this company is not doing anything differently today than it has done for the last 4 years or so. The only difference is that now there are probably a whole slew of new shareholders that have been conditioned when 'playing' the pinks to expect self serving PR's to move prices up. With all due respect, this is NOT a BHUB, CKYS, CSHD, SLJB, PMCL, ACMG, ETC ETC ETC....LOL. You have not seen any any discussions here about scams, bashers, pump and dump calling the SEC, shorts, naked shorts....you know ....the stuff you see on pinkies. This is a legit company, with real people behind it, a huge insider ownership, some very rich successful shareholders....everything you could want in a company, as I look at it.
Just remember....for some reason the management has decided at THIS POINT IN TIME to get involved with Iconix. Only they know what their motivation is/was...but I am convinced that it was definitely NOT to lose value on their personal investment in the company....they could have done that at any time in the past.
Sometimes buying a stock is not based on anything at all but logic and common sense. My logic tells me that no matter what the condition of DANSKIN the company was before the deal with Iconix, it now has $70,000,000.00 dollars in cash that it did not have 2 months ago....and no matter how you look at it, that translates into more value!!! Markets eventually figure that out.
I have to agree with you regarding TA....although I never quite heard it described that way...LOL. I have always felt that possibly in a vacuum it could be a tool in following a stock, but with different news always circling the market...whether specific to that one stock, or an industry, or a natural disaster, asassination, etc, charts cannot possibly factor in the unknown.
I have found that most times patience is key to making large gains in the market. Surely, in the 30 or so years I have been doing this, there were probably hundreds and hundreds of times I jumped into and out of stocks so fast that I would get dizzy....and luckily (and happily) was successful a good majority of the time. But the instances where I have TRULY been rewarded have been the times I have found investments and had the patience to stick with them. The last one was about a year and a half ago. I found a stock on the Amex..Internap...symbol was IIP...it was about 22 cents a share. The name sounded familiar to me from the dot.com days
of the late 90's and early 00's...both boom and bust...LOL. A little research, and I found it was one of the busts...LOL. Had once been a $200 stock...and now it was pennies. Nothing had changed in the interim other than changing attitudes of investors...but they had'nt changed and were still doing what they always did. They must have been doing something well, because they were still in business is the way I looked at it.
I think my first buy was at .25...10k shares. Week by week, it tacked on a nickel, sometimes a dime. Some weeks it may have dropped pennies....but it always seemed to be gaining, so I bought another 10k, and then maybe 5k, until I had about 65k. Then they decided on a reverse split...1:10....to get back onto NASDAQ where they started. I believe by then it was .91, so it rejoined NASD at $9.10. I sold 5k of my then 6.5k shares just last month for slightly less than $20/share.
I was quite rewarded for my patience.
FWIW....remember 2 days ago....BHUB....large volume (752 MILLION shares traded hands)....consider it wallpaper today...LOL
Time for a cup of coffee......? :)
Same as I see it...
The way I see it, you guys have been differing over 2 SEPERATE statements. One 15 mil is an ADDITIONAL contingent payment to Danskin from Iconix if certain conditions are met. The other 15 mil mentioned is what Iconix believes Danskin's name will be worth to them the first year. (At least that is how I read it with the word 'additional' in the same sentence as the statement of the purchase price.)
In either case, what's 15 mil between friends...LOL
Took my own advice and raised my bid to .15....still couldn't fill my total order, but closer...LOL
Sometimes I wonder if the MM's have any shares at all. Just think about it. Relatively small float...company has been dark for 4 years....hardly any trading at all during those years, and those trades were in the 4,5,6, cent range when they were traded. I wonder how much of the float is actually sitting in abandoned accounts or in great grandma's attic or basement...LOL.
Just something to ponder...LOL...float might be even smaller than we think....
They are holding onto these shares awful tight. Have had an order in for most of the day so far for 25K at .145, and so far have been able to get maybe 2500. Yesterday had the same exact order at .135 and couldn't get a share!!! The funny thing is, if the stock moves the way I hope/expect it to, half pennies and pennies are absolutely meaningless...LOL...and yet when buying, they seem important. GO FIGURE...:)
