NAK bagholders are going DOWN, DOWN, DOWN!
Into Alaskan earth and pulling out the only true valuable materials for 21st century
In the face of growing trade turmoil and current restrictions on domestic production, it is growing less acceptable, near treasonous, to further restrict extracting raw materials from US soil.
But I'm sure that Russia and China will soon return to supplying our country with as much raw materials that we require. And at very friendly prices.
This is a good sign. Historically, appeals are shut down rather soon if the denial is legitiamate.

The longer this stays in limbo, the higher chance the outcome is "Remand to District" in my opinion. Now PRIOR to the application the Corps. seemed positive, if you recall the positive EIS statement and all that.
This will grow to be more difficult to spin politically the longer this drags on. China pledged to be emission free by 2060, whether or not this is bullshit if they are moving toward an environmentally considerate form of production it ISNT out of concern for the environment. The implications are such that pollution and environmental upset will begin to effect the lives of the upper class, either directly due to pollution or indirectly from social conflict.
I think that China is going to turn hard into "going green" thus resetting the price for rare earth metals very high. It will become impossible for Democrats (or whoever in actuality) to promote tech/green energy while simultaneously denouncing mining for it domestically.
Round of applause for Governor Dunleavy! Representing the state!
"Notice, the wind caused them to lose control of some string(s) the other day during a walk up the stairs to Air Force One."
Wow. Watching that footage was strange and eye-opening. I don't dislike Biden as much as I am concerned. Legitimately concerned that he appears SO VERY WEAK AND INCAPABLE.
And where was the media? SNL would have done beat this slip-up to an unfunny pulp if it were Trump on camera, with all the coordination of a newborn calf.
It's been two months now since the PLP appeal has been accepted.

The longer this takes, the less likely rejection is the decided outcome. Just saying, look at the appeals that are rejected. They all are quickly settled and determined "No merit".
The Fate of Donald Trump
Thank you Zildium,
I found the article very interesting, it is a very out of the box idea....
While it certainly would be a "win-win" for Alaska, I'm not so sure it would be a win in the eyes of the Fed. or PLP. So I'm not sure why the Fed. would agree to buy the land so they could "protect" it.
Definitely is an interesting thought and lots to ponder.
The status has changed since this morning.

The State of Alaska appeal (same appeal # as the one recorded for the Pebble Limited Partnership) is "Not Accepted".
I recall from another source that the PLP appeal is accepted. So it would make sense to accept TWO of the same appeals. I still am looking for clarification as to why the State of Alaska jumped on board this appeal. If not, perhaps, to threaten taking this issue to Federal courts. Minerals and natural resources belong to the state.
It really is ingenious how the Fed need only to provide a link or connection as to how one action may affect another industry. It really isn't hard..."Well, if you construct HERE it may potentially affect the water HERE." Essentially allows one to control production, provided there is a "reason". Brilliant.
Most likely scenario, additional research and study is required. Whether it be Biden's term or the next, progress is inevitable :)
Whoa. The appeal decision is still not recorded on the USACE website.
https://www.pod.usace.army.mil/Missions/Regulatory/Appeals/
I always thought it was weird that the state of Alaska was appealing a permit that they did not submit to begin with....perhaps this was all a show of support for Pebble Limited Partnership. In support for state rights.
Well, let it go to the Supreme Court and draw more attention to $NAK.
Wow. Haha, which society is more likely to survive?
In the catastrophic event you have described it doesn't really matter. The world will be ruled by GOD (Guns, Oil, and Drugs). Reeeaal MadMax.
Well....and food.
In my country, communism defines YOU!
OK. I was speaking more towards whether the election results are "legitimate" or not. Ever notice how only the losers of a contest (or election in this case) are 99% the voice crying UNFAIR. I don't recall strong claims of fraud being made when Trump won 2016...but that's because I think most people found it acceptable that Hillary lost. I will take a crass "idiot" over a liar ANY day, and I think most people agree with this sentiment.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the election was legit. I'm saying that many decisions made are unfair. I just don't see how this relates to Pebble Mine. Developing the mine would span across both democrat and republican parties, It will be slow but it will happen. The seemingly excessive number of steps, approvals, etc. are all frustrating but are in fact the ONLY feature which can be installed into the process which defeat corruption. If you do not agree, than I hope the All-Perfect-God-Emperor shows up soon.
LEFT, RIGHT, FRAUDULENT, LEGITAMATE, other than possibly being considered "off topic " to this message board. The narrative can change at any moment. I like what rugh said earlier. Great wealth and industry determine whether there is peace or war. What is profitable now?
I shared the same link. And made the observation that the appeal process has a history of taking 3 months to a year.
Appeals which are denied and decided "No merit", take less take three months. So at least if the permit appeal is denied, everyone will know sooner rather than later..in fact the longer it takes the better chance of a positive decision for permitting.
My confusion is over the appeal decision "Remand to District". Which I may have found helpful info at this source...https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2000/03/28/00-7439/final-rule-establishing-an-administrative-appeal-process-for-the-regulatory-program-of-the-corps-of
In summary, if the appeal has merit..which I think it does, after all many preliminary steps and measures have been made and APPROVED by the USACE. The Division Engineer bounces this responsibility to the District Engineer, and this decision is referred to as "REMAND TO DISTRICT". Historically, from looking at past appeals, the decision "Remand to District" for "Permit Denial" types of appeals, results more often in approval of permit.
What I can't understand fully is how "The State of Alaska" is also on this appeal. Unless they withdraw from this appeal themselves, it would seem that at very LEAST additional studies be made.."For permit decisions, where the district engineer determines that the effect of the district engineer's reconsideration of the administrative record would be substantial in scope and impact, the district engineer's review process will include issuance of a new public notice, and/or preparation of a supplemental environmental analysis and decision document"
Considering "historic appeals" (see link below) the time between "date received" and "date completed" ranges from approx. 3 months to roughly a year.https://www.pod.usace.army.mil/Missions/Regulatory/Appeals/
Most which are denied based on "No merit" are typically completed in a few months time. Other outcomes such as "Remand to District" would mean permitting be decided by the state of Alaska? Which is tricky because the state of Alaska is appealing this denial....
I haven't found a similar case of the state appealing, neither in the Pacific Ocean Division or in any other division. In fact, I cannot find a history of permitting for any of the divisions (see link below). Any one figure why that is?https://www.usace.army.mil/Locations.aspx
