“..targeting end-product applications in fashion and performance apparel.”
My God, I would hope so. That’s all they have signed a contract for so far. Who knows if it’s still valid.
“Everyone knew that BAM 1 eggs had to be shipped over to Vietnam. Having someone from KBLB accompany them is fine.”
The PR didn’t say anything about shipping eggs. Previous PRs lead me to believe that they already have the parent lines at Prodigy1 and have been increasing the parent lines there. That’s probably where their pictured silk came from also. Could be where nearly all of their hybrid breeding has been taking place. Don’t really need scientists if you’re not operating on the DNA. It’s a whole lot simpler just to breed the genes in to another kind of silkworm. The pooper scoopers are a whole lot cheaper there also.
“many many things have changed since then...many improvements have been made...”
Not near as many improvements or as fast as some on here are trying to suggest.
“Finalizing is what you do at the end.”
They are finalizing agreements not trials. I don’t see how they can start any kind of production if they don’t have the license to do so in place first. “Arriving this week to oversee the launch of spring trials” doesn’t say to anyone that the trials have been started yet. Looks like spring in Vietnam starts the same time as it does anywhere else in the northern hemisphere. Go figure. Be careful who you believe on this board.
“Some generation previous to BAM1 is supposed to be in mass production in Q1.”
The previous generation was their pure DS line. It failed in production a year ago. Don’t know why it’s so hard for people to figure that out.
I didn’t see where they said the 2027 notes were getting paid off, just said that they could be redeemed because of the stock price hitting the required level. Do you know something I don’t? I haven’t checked, but the price has probably been over the required level this quarter also so notes should be redeemable next quarter also. I don’t know that it is to the note holders advantage to redeem them early though. If they shorted the stock, which is common with convertible notes, then they could be getting 3.5% interest on $460 million without having much, if any, cash output.
I would hope that they are done with this debt crap after they pay off the 2027 notes. I don’t see where it did IDCC any good to have this debt and they would have had more cash on the books afterwards without it.
If the warrants are set up like they were in 2016 they will expire in daily tranches over a three month period. I believe there was some shorting going on associated with the notes/calls/warrants and I don’t see many of those warrants expiring out of the money. Go back and see what happened in 2016.
The warrants become in the money over $109.43. The calls and notes will cancel each other out after IDCC pays back the $126.2 million principal in cash. Will be interesting to see what the stock price does after the notes and calls expire with the warrants still hanging out there for another 3 months or so.
Rest of 2024 Notes expiring June 1. Warrants after that.
“Self control….Life it too short to attack anonymous posters you don’t agree with and will never meet!”
Funny how you think that only the non rah rah posters have this problem. I don’t mind if somebody disagrees with me as long as they don’t throw an insult in with it. The fact you’re directing your advice only to me is actually kinda insulting. Thanks for the fatherly advice though.
Sorry you feel that way. I don’t believe I ever picked on you although you have been wrong way more than I have. As far as missing the boat. No, I bought how many shares I wanted years ago. Haven’t been trading in and out like other posters here. Funny thing how my shares have increased in value just as much as everybody else’s these last couple weeks. Don’t know what I’m missing out on. Just because I don’t put a pie in the sky valuation on this company like other folks do doesn’t make me any less of an investor than you are. If you don’t want me to pick on you then don’t insult me or other posters looking to add their input.
And by the way, BAM1 isn’t a new kind of SpydaSilk. It’s just the designation given to the new hybrid they developed to produce the same DS SpydaSilk they have been trying to produce.
Man, you really need some psychiatric help if you believe that.
Thanks, saved me a lot of typing. It all depends on which definition of Vietnamese spring one wishes to use. Only one is logical.
I’m sure he took it as a compliment. Have you seen the other replies he gets?
“Da Lat is the capital of Lam Dong and it’s known as the city of eternal spring”
Well, that would definitely be the definition of spring that Kim would use then. Fits right in with his definition of soon. I mean, why would he use the definition that means the same no matter where in the northern hemisphere you are?
I thought you were better at reading the fine print than that. Try reading more than just the subtitles of that article.
“Man I know how hard it is for some to say “I was wrong”
Still waiting for you to do it. North Vietnam is not all of Vietnam. Just because you shared the first answer you came up with on Google doesn’t make it the right answer. And, by the way, you’re the one that started the argument trying to “dig out a win”. I just stated a fact. Get over yourself.
“Spring is a short season in Northern Vietnam which lasts from February to early April.”
So when did KBLB open an operation in Northern Vietnam? Try Googling what the seasons are for where they are actually operating.
“Now we are down to waiting on revenues and sales since we saw the product in December.”
That’s the product they paid somebody else to produce for them, not the actual end product. I don’t know why Kings would do more than reimburse KBLB for the cost of producing the yarn if KBLB is planning on taking a cut of the actual end product’s profit. Keep dreaming though.
That’s not what they meant by new transgenic. They are talking about something other than MS or DS.
“I say spring trials.”
Spring is still several weeks away.
“I wonder how long it took to get Bam Bam homozygous via breeding.”
Evidently it was faster than by doing it with a needle.
I hope you have a pair of hip waders then.
“Hybridization via the insertion of different genes has been done for centuries?”
They haven’t been surgically inserting genes to solve their current issues. They have been using common silkworm breeding practices. Try learning the difference.
“It's better to remember and judge people by their past. Know them for what they are until they prove they have changed.”
That’s quite the double standard you’ve got there. Isn’t that how most of the negative posters are judging this company? The ones whose comments you are taking so personally?
“2020BC (Before Covid) successful game changer announced. large plasmid cassette insertion with knock in- knock out. Gens 2,3 were successful. Immunity worms for mundane silk now possible. Ability to customize became much easier.”
Recent PR’s would suggest that immunity worms have failed and also that they haven’t figured out the customization part yet.
Years ago they sent a batch of immunity worms out for testing and evidently they fell off the face of the earth. Never heard another word about them. They are now using crossbreeding to try and get more robust healthier worms. Something that’s been done for centuries.
As far as easier customization, this was in the latest Christmas letter:
“While our core focus remains on the immediate commercialization of existing spider silk technologies, our molecular biology team continues to work on the next generation of materials. This work continues to advance forward but is moving more slowly than we had hoped. This delay is primarily related to our transition to more advanced technology platforms. Our work is now focused on larger, more complex silk protein designs as well as newer splicing technologies that have challenged our team. We had hoped to announce the creation of a new transgenic in November, but we have not hit that mark. We will add additional resources to our molecular biology team in early 2024 to speed up this process. We remain confident in our ability to further improve our spider silks and obtain goals which we have not yet publicly announced. As new transgenics are produced and verified, we will continue to share those updates with you.”
“If they were always bashing, then they weren't giving the whole picture.”
Neither are the ones that are always saying how great the company is. Too bad you and others want to take it personally. Webslinger may always be negative but a lot of the facts he brings up should be of concern to everybody invested here. If you can’t prove him wrong it’s not his fault, it’s the company’s. Same goes for any other poster with a different viewpoint than yours. Counter them with facts not feelings. Find something else to do with that flock of crows you’ve been fattening up for the last 8 years. I hear they taste like chicken. All you’re going to end up with is a yard full of crow shit no matter what happens with this stock.
“But now those who were attacking seem to want Immunity of sorts from all their years of negativity just because now the company is displaying consistent positives. Now tell me, Mr. Victim, how those attacks were advancing KBLB?”
This isn’t a KBLB advancement board, it’s a KBLB discussion board. Positive and negative comments about the company should be welcomed and discussed. Too bad you can’t tell the difference between a personal attack and a negative factual comment about the company.
“Can’t say I disagree with much of his analysis though.”
Heaven help you if you ever do. The guy just can’t admit when he is wrong no matter how much proof he has against him. Probably has something to do with his feelings of inadequacy. Hopefully he can get over that someday.
Bad batch of weed or something? Maybe I got tired of you taking the first jab. We all know you won’t stop until you get the last shot in though. Goes back to that PT thing we discussed before.
“Look back at any sequence and exchange.”
I think you need to look a little deeper.
“Another fine example of you taking the high road.”
You’re the expert.
“I'll offer support”
Thanks for that. That extra curricular stuff is just aimed at those that can’t show any respect for other’s opinions and I can assure you that I am not the one who started it. They just pile on because they don’t like to be challenged. Too bad folks with reasonable expectations and balanced opinions can’t post on here without being personally insulted by the rah rah crowd.
“Jellymac said the cost basis couldn’t be lowered…
And that is just flat wrong…”
I hope you don’t do your own taxes. M4N welcomes you to the moron club.
Just because the average price you paid for your shares is lower than the current stock price doesn’t mean that you all of a sudden aren’t losing money on the shares you bought above the current stock price or that, somehow, you’re a better stock trader than somebody else who traded other stocks the last 5 years instead of averaging down on KBLB stock.
“Better to Remain Silent and Be Thought a Fool than to Speak and Remove All Doubt”
Try looking up the definition of cost basis moron and follow your own advice.
“That is more on them since there have been PLENTY of opportunities to lower your cost basis below 10 cents in the past decade.”
Buying shares below 10 cents doesn’t lower your cost basis of the ones you bought over 10 cents. Only a moron would think that.
“You could choose an even smaller market niche if you’d like to lower projections though”
I’d say it more than covers the military aspect that everybody keeps creaming their pants about. How big a niche did you say M has in the fashion industry? I’ll be waiting for that answer.
