Thanks for that, Solarplay!
Greetings --
Does anyone know where the XSNX cash came from? It's quite an asset with no corresponding liability....
Rick
Excellent -- I look forward to his response. (A while back, I complained about something and his staff said that they'd be looking into it. Never did get an explanation, or answer, from anyone at Changewave....)
I'd say that TS should explain the apparent contradiction. We're not taking him to court, we just want to be able to make sense of what he's saying in his voluminoous correspondence with people, subscribers and non-subscribers both. Plus, maybe we'd learn that we're getting "counterfeit" messages from a fake "TS"....
What's to lose with an e-mail or a telephone call? I would certainly like to know whatever people were able to discover from his office! I "lurk" in anticipation.
Rick (a small long position holder of NEOM)
And another Canadian, who lived in the States for a long time, a 62-year-old social anthropologist lurker who posts from time to time and who wants to remind Dr. Mike that there hasn't been really big dilution...yet!
Can you explain what you mean by "Country Joe wanting back in?"
(Just for the fun of it, I'll mention that I used to choose to walk right behind a sound truck -- which often had Country Joe and the Fish on it -- during Vietnam War marches when I was a student at the University of California -- "Pro mobile entertainment" all the way!)
And Mobilepro is looking good, too!
R.
Thanks, Success. I guess it's true!
I was suggesting that potential buyers of the stock review past posts and other material -- there's way too much to synthesize in a single post, and it's not necessary to do so, anyway, when it's been said already. I pointed to specific posters to make the search for relevant information a little easier. If I had brand new information or insights, I would likely share them with the board.
Greetings, all!
Another "lurker" would like to thank the folks who were at the ASM -- excellent and very useful multi-dimensional reporting!
Thanks again.
The reason my message is like the older one is because I am pretty consistent, thoughtful and empathetic. If you want to take the risk, and you're truly informed, be my guest. If you're relatively naive, and looking for something completely legitimate for a long-term, meaningful investment, and you haven't read the positive and the negative stuff about XsunX, I'm saying "Do the reading and be careful."
If you look at other posts of mine, you'll see I mention that I made some money on XsunX -- but I didn't feel good about benefiting from a scam, which I have concluded this is.
I am interested in the psychology and sociology of these boards and the penny stocks, and the people who are looking for interesting and hopefully very, very lucrative plays...and this is why I still occasionally post. But I'm an investor, not a trader -- I was sucked into this stock by the newsletters, which trumpeted XsunX's potential, all of which, as far as I can tell, have left this particular stock behind, way behind. (That is, the newsletter writers have sold.)
I'm also interested in consumer advocacy issues -- it seems to me that way too many unscrupulous people profit from the naivete and ignorance of the deeply hopeful.
Please be careful, folks. I'm out of this stock, having concluded, for many reasons, that it's bogus. Interested readers might want to look at the posts of mike306oh who has written persuasively about Xsunx's failings. If you read the thread, you'll come across many more. This stock is great on the surface, but watch out for your own wishful thinking.
Captain Edit: There's no need to capitalize "Guarantee" and "billionaire" was misspelled. But, of course (surprise!), you're right, no one is perfect. There's a practice in India for craftspeople to purposely add an imperfection to something crafted, in order to recognize that only "God" can make a perfect thing....
Please be careful. If you haven't already reviewed the board carefully, it's probably a good plan.... Maybe betting the farm on XsunX, as you said you were, isn't really a great idea. On the board, among others, the posts of Mike306oh are very useful. I think xsnx is -- to put it kindly -- a very problematic company.
Dear Extelecom, Tom and Toofuzzy --
Thanks to you all for your thoughtful, helpful and friendly responses to my post.
With good wishes,
Rick
Dear Tom Veale, extelecom, toofuzzy (and others) --
I just wanted to say that I've just read (today) all the posts since the board was founded...and it kind of seems like I know you guys! (At least a little.) And you all seem like great people!
I bought a few shares today at $13.10 Canadian! (A long way from where Tom started.) And, like Tom, I'm interested in the technological (ethanol) dimension of the company, but am also (mostly) eating organic food, so the purchase seemed to make sense to me all around. (It was interesting to read The Motley Fool piece which suggests that SunOpta is sort of "wierd" because of its combination of elements.)
I wonder about two things:
1. How big can the bio-process division get, in financial and other terms? (As Tom points out, their contribution to an ethanol plant is just one component.)
2. They don't forsee paying dividends, I read somewhere on the company's website. Does anyone have reason to believe they will approve a dividend in the (forseeable) future?
Love to hear other thoughts about SunOpta's future -- especially in light of ethanol production issues, the current "promotion" of the company by Jeff Siegel in his internet mailings and today's big increase in price.
With best wishes,
Rick in British Columbia
Ah, thanks. That's the minimum value per share before a NASDAQ listing is possible, right? Silly me.
Greetings --
Can anyone offer a realistic sense of when MOBL might have its NASDAQ listing?
Thanks,
Rick
Ah, Mike --
You see, I don't know all the conventions around here....
1. I'm happy to help on the board if I can, but I really don't know -- concretely -- what that means in terms of actions, procedures and so on. Of course, I'm getting something of a sense of how these things work through "hanging around."
2. In terms of the GVPB board, you've indicated a number of times that MOBL and NEOM are "interesting." If you were able to sum up some of your current thinking about these companies, I, for one, would be really interested in seeing your comments and I'm sure so would others.
3. And I thought that perhaps the wind company, Uniterre Resources (UNT) would be of interest to you and other folks on the GVPB board.
I mentioned all these things initially in a public message to you a number of days ago...but didn't hear from you. The private message (intended as vaguely humourous), and in which I basically repeated myself, followed spontaneously on your message in which you mused that no one was listening....
But I am a public-spirited kind of guy, no fear.
With good wishes,
Rick
Dear Neom --
Are you able to enlighten us? You spoke for 35 minutes...can you tell us about the conversation?
At last -- something solid....
Thanks, RM
I've been following the conversation and trying to pull things together.
One thing I've been wondering about: Why is the Neomedia "family" so shy?
If you go to the websites of the companies that Neomedia has "acquired," you may find a media release describing an letter of intent to acquire the company, but little more....
There is no excitement beyond the media release (that I've been able to locate) and certainly no indication of the essential nature of the relationship or its financial consequences in other sections of the websites of these companies.
If Neomedia is the "father," the children seem indifferent to dad...and there's not much sign of his presence.
Can someone explain this? Am I missing more substantial connections or some animating vision? (I know there was a "family gathering" in Florida (?) a while back, but it was described as a low-key "getting to know you kind of thing," which seems odd for the quick-moving world of mobile phones, computers, sophisticated marketing and endless deals.)
Thoughts and comments, folks?
Thanks, RM
Mike, greetings.
I was delighted to find your posts and the GVPB board. I had been sucked into XsunX and it took me a while to figure out that I had been scammed....
I really support your thoughtful, cooperative and intellectually-honest approach to making sense of stock "opportunities."
I'm wondering if:
1. You could comment on the current situation of NEOM and MOBL, both of which I've followed because of Tobin Smith's writing (and pumping?). Both, but especially NEOM, are puzzling companies. (Should I hold or fold, I wonder.)
2. Do you know about the Canadian company UNT on the TSE Venture Exchange? Uniterre Resources owns a company called Nai Kun Wind Development Inc. The plan is to build a 700mw. windfarm off the British Columbia coast near Prince Rupert. I don't have a lot of current information, but I have a very high regard for some of the people who are involved, and know one person well (who is very circumspect with insider knowledge). The windfarm is a very challenging and expensive project, but certainly never a scam!
3. I wonder if I could help with the board. Could you let me know what is needed in concrete terms? (I'm a social anthropologist by academic training, but I seem to be an editor by avocation.)
I really support the tenor of your approach and look forward to hearing from you when it's convenient.
RM
Greetings.
I have been trying to sort things out with this company and have been overwhelmed by the sheer number of postings, many of which are inconclusive.
Should I hold my shares or should I sell?
Neomedia plusses:
-Attractive idea
-Promoted by Tobin Smith
-Lots of supporters
Negatives:
-Aside from the car painting division, I can't find much about what Neomedia is actually doing. Are there synergies with the new acquisitions? New revenues?
-I can't find current financials. The Globe and Mail Investor Gold site has financial information only through 31 December 2004!
-Book value is apparently about 1 cent a share
-There is very little independent media coverage
-Price keeps dropping
-Share numbers expanding
-Insiders selling
-And so on....
This seems like a good time to me for a good current update to be presented to the posters -- a sober summary of the good and the bad that's in play with this company.
I'm neither a pumper or a dumper -- but I'd sure like to figure out if I've invested in a scam! Please help outline the issues that I've raised...both for me and others watching this board.
Thanks, RM
Yes, RB is very slow today, but functional.
Ecris1 -- Thanks for the quick follow-up.
I'm not sure how closely-related these various enterprises are to the challenges facing XsunX or how substantial these companies are (or were in the past). And I'm doubtful that "thin-film" in relation to drives is what is required in the context of "power glass," a solar power application.... Sadly, I'm very uneasy about the whole thing.
But thanks for your openness -- it bodes well for the discussion.
However, I think I'm pretty well out of here....
I'm still attempting to make sense of XsunX. My last post was met with some resistance -- "watch out for folks who want to 'correct' our thinking" went one. "Horse's ass" was another. However, for people who -- like me -- were sucked into the newsletter excitement about XsunX, but then began to think a little more carefully about things, I suggest the following: Check out the history of Joe Grimes, who has just joined XsunX, according to a media release issued by the company today.
My quick work with Google wasn't definitive, but sure would leave me concerned if I were still holding a big postion in this company: I can't find an website for Envisage Technology Company at all; ISERA Group looks small and unimpressive, and doesn't seem to have been bought out by Envisage, but rather by a deal-making organization (like Cornell?); and Applied Magnetics Corporation went bankrupt some years ago, and doesn't seem to have been involved in anything to do with thin-film technology. And Google has nothing obvious on Joe Grimes himself, at least that I was able to spot without going through a lot more entries than I wanted to.
So does this make me a "basher"? Or, rather, someone interested in protecting other trusting folks from being sucked into a scam? I've made some money with XsunX, but it isn't the kind of company -- or profit -- that I feel good about....
And doesn't "due diligence" mean intellectual honesty and openness at all times?
Greetings --
I have been attempting to come to a conclusion for some time on XsunX. I believe that Mike is pointing to some important issues. Regarding the award: it looks to me more like an elaborate public relations exercise than a genuine award. Plus, check out the people involved in XsunX's research -- I'm not convinced that you'll find impressive scientific credentials. If you do (or don't!), please share with the group. It might help change my conclusion mind that XsunX is, sadly, a major scam. Another point: the company's website hasn't changed in ages -- beyond listing the media releases that are clearly self-serving, but not supported by real business activity, at least as far as anyone can tell!
