Can someone mire knowledgeable than I tell me how big this news is? It sounds like a pretty big deal.
It has been a while since Solartech has posted here, and he normally posts everyday. I wonder if he threw in the towel? Or maybe something happened to him?
I have no idea what has been causing the dip. I'm not near selling.
If QMC can just show their sustainability through some decent steady revenue, this thing is going to break out. I think the deal with Freschfield and revenue from online sales will be enough to hold them through 2018, but I really hope they land a new deal next year to prove they can survive until the QD rush. For the love of science!!
There's no doubt quantum dots will be in high demand in the future, but what if it takes until 2020? Can QMC survive until then?
Yes, we were supposed to get our first installment in June so hopefully it shows up in the next earnings.
Wow, I had no idea smart cities are going to be popping up this soon and the revenues could be THIS HIGH so quickly! What Freschfield is doing seems overly ambitious to me, but I hardly know anything about them or the science. If QD's are going to be used in smart cities, my god.....
May I ask for why so many feel so strongly against a possible R/S? The company had to dilute shares to raise funding, leaving way too many shares out there. This will make it very hard for the PPS to increase due to demand, making uplisting very challenging. Also, there are many investors who won't even touch a company unless they are at a respectable price point. The earnings per share will also be very unattractive with this many shares outstanding. For those of you who are voting no on R/S, are you going to reconsider the possibility next year?
It is this way for all deposits. However, I think they just lowered it to two days now.
Yes I am. Sorry, I completely misread that, I'm using mobile. That's the projected revenue for smart city technology in early 2018. Silly me.
What is that annual projected revenue? $268 B by 2018? Wtf is this...
"Quantum dots are extremely tiny nanoparticles typically between 10 to 10,000 atoms (1 to 9 nanometers) in diameter; they are thus smaller than 1/10,000th the width of human hair. Quantum dots are so small that they cannot be seen under a conventional microscope. To put it simply, quantum dots are incredibly small particles with sizes on an atomic scale.
They basically started this PR off by saying "Quantum dots are small. Quantum dots are small. Therefore, quantum dots are small." It's like they weren't sure which copy/paste version to use so they just threw in all three.
It could be that more and more people in the US and elsewhere are realizing that Canada is legalizing recreational use. I'm in my late 20's and live in southern California, and none of my buddies here had a clue.
I'm happy to hear more about quantum dots, but honestly, that PR is poorly written. I understand English is probably not their first language, but this is an official release, right?
Finally an update on the permitting process.
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Sept. 7, 2017) - Mason Graphite Inc. ("Mason Graphite" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:LLG)(OTCQX:MGPHF) announces that it has been informed by the Ministry of Développement durable, Environnement et Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MDDELCC) that a public hearing mandate has been given to the Bureau des audiences publiques en environnement (BAPE) for the Lac Guéret graphite project. The hearing process, with a maximum duration of 4 months, will start on September 25th. To the Company's knowledge, no mining project in Quebec was ever able to avoid this phase. This is the last step in the permitting process before the recommendation by the Minister of MDDELCC to the provincial government cabinet on the decree.
The Company will keep on being actively involved with all stakeholders and local communities. Furthermore, considering the warm reception by the population and the full support of the Pessamit First Nation, as evidenced by the recently announced Impact Benefit Agreement, the Company believes that the project should not face any other hurdle in the remaining permitting steps.
Notwithstanding this hearing process, the Company had already launched and continues several actions usually undertaken only after obtaining the final authorizations, such as the procurement of major equipment and hiring of key personnel. The detailed engineering, ongoing for the last few months, and sufficiently advanced to be construction ready in certain sectors this fall, carries on following the initial schedule. The suppliers of the main process equipment have been selected and orders for the equipment engineering have been placed.
The construction of the new segment of highway 389 being built by the Government, at this time only for Mason Graphite, is advancing well; the road and related services should be completed by the end of 2017.
Benoît Gascon, President and CEO of Mason Graphite commented: "We have spent a lot of time with the local communities and when we made our last presentation, part of the BAPE process, it was clear that the attendees were already well informed on the project and highly receptive. Clearly, the populations of Baie-Comeau and Pessamit are eager to see this project get off the ground."

If an insider is buying shares, then so am I.
The EPA is basically non-existant under this administration. There shouldn't be any issues.
Someone stick this please.
I see. May I ask how you can tell the number of shorts? I'm not sure how benicificial it is to know this, but thanks for the information, it is interesting nontheless.
Nevermind, I guess there is just very, very low volume today.
Has trading been halted? I'm seeing zero volume today.
Try not to pay much attention to share price (I know, much easier said then done). Our emotions are the biggest hurdle to overcome when dealing with the stock market. This company has done nothing but good things, so there is no reason at all for the share price to drop. I myself am trying to spend more time learning about the technology and what the company is doing, instead of joining the crowd of people running around like chickens with their head cut off while day traders have their fun.
I've got a hunch that has something to do with our new president.
I really do believe in this company too, I was just being sarcastic. I just watched the 2017 shareholder presentation on youtube (thanks to whoever posted it) and although about a third of it was over my head, I was very impressed. This is going to be an exciting year, and I will be periodically accumulating more shares when possible. What a brilliant group of engineers.
Can we sticky this to help new investors? It is a great introduction.
Thank you so much for the great explanation Richard. You helped me understand what Lightwave is all about, and as a bonus I now have a better understanding of how the mysterious world wide web works! As a young electrical engineering student, I sure am glad to have found this company. At the very least I can learn from the company and knowledgeable shareholders.
But they should start receiving money from Freschfield in June. Shouldn't that be on the 10-Q?
They just converted all of the preferred shares to common shares, so there are no preferred shares.
I get it, you don't like the CEO. What did he do specifically at those companies that you disagree with? And how has he fared with this company so far?
This company seems very intriguing and I really want to buy in, but to be honest, I'm having trouble understanding what it is they do exactly. It sounds exciting, I have researched the management and they all all are great. But I just cannot buy into something I don't understand. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Check out that volume, 2.25 million so far. The world is watching you Terra Tech, show Canada how to make money! I have plenty of doubts, but I also have a lot of hope that Terra Tech will succeed. I would much rather be on the front lines of this new sector than watch from the sidelines. C'mon TRTC, you have been priming yourself for this moment. To the future, 2019 and beyond!
While the public fixed their eyes on Osram’s deal with the Chinese consortium, another acquisition secretly took place in Europe. Philips, the Dutch lighting giant recently focusing on healthcare technology, last year privately bought Luciom and relocated it from France to Eindhoven, Netherland, reported LEDs Magazine.
Refusing to disclose what exactly is under the Luciom team’s current research, the Philips spokesman, however, told that the two companies will together ‘study a number of technologies that could enable existing and new lighting technologies.’ On the other hand, Michel Germe, Luciom chief executive, did not comment with regard to it.
Philips’ move to acquire Luciom is believed as part of Philips’ cultivation of its capabilities in Li-Fi, the lighting technology transferring data through lights at a incredibly fast speed.
While it sounds more likely that this company researches Li-Fi, the following quote leaves the possiblity that Luciom researches quantum dots. Keep in mind that this company was acquired two months after Samsung bought QD Vision.
Another thing worth noting is that the acquisition, for Luciom and Germe, is kind of a ‘back to where it begins’ consequence, for Germe used to work as an LED lighting architect at NXP Semiconductors, where Luciom evolved from and was actually a division of Philips before 2006.
I can't seem to find out who is supplying these QD's to Phillips. I see that in March 2016:
TPV Technology, the company that produces monitors under Philips brand, has started to sell displays with QD Vision’s Color IQ quantum dot technology. What makes this notable is that QD Vision's technology is one such method being developed to significantly and inexpensively increase color gamut that displays can produce. The new 27” monitor can cover 99% of Adobe RGB color space, and is launcing at just $299.
However, QD Vision was bought by Samsung December 2016. Is there a way to find out who is supplying the QD's to Phillips?
Philips unveils quantum dot 8000 series and flagship 65in 4K OLED TV
31st August 2017 by Kashfia Kabir
The 8602 quantum dot 4K TV features Ambilight and an integrated soundbar, and comes in 55in and 65in screen sizes.
Philips has taken the wraps off its 8000 series - the final missing piece of its 2017 TV range - and its new flagship 65in OLED TV at IFA 2017.
The 8602 is a 4K LCD TV (with edge-lit LED backlighting) featuring quantum dot technology - the first Philips TV to do so - and comes in 55in and 65in screen sizes.
The range also features three-sided Ambilight, has an integrated front-firing "floating" soundbar, and uses its latest P5 picture processing engine to deliver better-than-before 4K HDR picture quality.
Philips claims the 8602 delivers a peak light output of 1100 nits and 98% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, meaning the set qualifies for UHD Premium certification.
The 8602 also features HDR10, Android TV OS and Google Assistant voice control (which will be available with Android Nougat - the update is due in 2018), and, we presume, the usual complement of Netflix, Amazon Video and other TV apps.

I'll bet it has no "says" from film either, whatever that means.
You guys are too funny. One PR and you guys go bonkers. One bad trading day and you think this company is a bust. You really shouldn't even bother investing in this company unless you plan on sticking with it through 2018. Otherwise you're going to die of a heart attack.
Does a single person here besides me even believe in Intel? They might need to rename this board "I hate Intel".
Who wrote this piece?
Jesus, a year-to-year lease is the breaking point for you? I guess overly anxious people like are the reason we get sweet deals on stocks. This apparently wasn't the right one for you. Good luck.
May I ask what your question was? And how long has QMC been at STAR Park for?
