The touchscreen mirror allows you to download apps from the Google Play store, stream YouTube and ask Google Assistant anything you would in a standard smart speaker. You can also compose emails and messages by typing directly on the mirror.
Voice control in the mirror can recognize six different voices and log users in and out of Google accounts. The company says this method still keeps user data private.
The mirror does require the Capstone Connected Control Hub. The hub is also a touchscreen device, like a tablet, that acts as the command center for the mirror.
You can hang the Capstone Smart Mirror or stand it up on a counter. The mirror will be available in multiple sizes, beginning with a 19-inch by 22-inch model.

Between significant announcements at CES, we sometimes find smaller companies releasing rather ingenious products. One such company is Capstone Connected Home, which just unveiled a Google-enabled Smart Mirror.
As seen in the image, the Smart Mirror’s display is placed behind the reflective surface. This technique makes it so that you can still use the device as a mirror, but can also make out what’s being shown on the screen.
Now, before we go any further, this isn’t a Smart Display like the Home Hub or just a Google Assistant speaker. The Smart Mirror seemingly runs a version of Android as it can download and run apps from the Play Store, has access to the Google Assistant for voice commands, and much more.

Designed by Capstone Connected, the Smart Mirror functions like a tablet. It has touchscreen and voice interfaces, and of course, internet access. Using Android’s operating system, the mirror has the ability to download apps and use Google Voice Assistant.
The whole family can customize the mirror to fit their personal needs, including which launcher or browser they want, which apps or short cuts appear on the main screen, or what custom routine is triggered by saying, “Hey Google, Good Morning.”

The phrase “Doing ____ is like reinventing the wheel” isn’t something I say often, but when it comes to something as simple as a mirror, you’d never think they could truly evolve. But here we are in 2020, and Capstone Connected, a designer of consumer products that attempt to bring tech to everyday necessities managed to do that with their Smart Mirror.
Now, I’m not one to stand in front of a mirror that often, but on the surface, this technology is absolutely brilliant, and I feel like its one of those understated CES products that will certainly wow on the showroom floor, I just really would love to see it in someones home (preferably mine) to use in everyday life. You can set up routines and shortcuts, customize the launcher or browser, and even configure the apps you want on the main screen. Somehow, I feel like my wife will get more of a kick out of saying Hey Google, Good Morning” to the Smart Mirror than she does the Nest Hub that sits in our bedroom.
Created to integrate into any space (not just a bathroom), its modern design would look great in a hallway, entryway, or even above a vanity.

A few companies are building smart mirrors with android and google assistant built in so you can do things like pull up the traffic and weather, or watch a hair or makeup tutorial on YouTube while you’re in the bathroom. DIY smart mirrors have been a thing for quite a while, and last year the company Electric Mirror brought their very feature rich, but cost prohibitively expensive smart mirrors to CES. This year a new company called Capstone Connected has brought their own android touch screen mirrors to market starting at $600, roughly 20% of the price of the cheapest mirror by Electric Mirrors, still not cheap, but not unreasonable considering there is a fully functional android 9 tablet inside.

Rxi's annualized revenue for calendar year 2020 is approximately $16.6 million with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (“EBITDA”) of approximately $600,000(2). Terms of Acquisition
In consideration for the purchase of 100% of the outstanding securities of Rxi, CloudMD has agreed to pay shareholders of Rxi aggregate consideration of $9.5 million payable as follows: (i) $2.5 million in cash, subject to a working capital adjustment; (ii) $4 million in common shares of the Company; and (iii) a performance-based earnout of $3 million, which is payable in common shares of the Company in equal annual issuances over a period of two years. All common shares issued pursuant to the acquisition will be issued at a deemed price of $2.39 per common share and are priced by calculating the 10-day volume-weighted average trading price of the Company's common shares for the 10 trading days prior to the execution of the binding term sheet. The common shares will be subject to certain contractual restrictions on trading for a period of 20 months from the date of issuance.
The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including the execution of a definitive acquisition agreement and receipt of TSX Venture Exchange approval.

Terms of Agreement

Westport Fuel Systems is generally known as a natural gas fuel technology company, but today it announced an agreement with Swedish truck and bus maker Scania for a hydrogen engine research project.
Now what
Scania -- part of Volkswagen's Traton Group truck unit -- will seek to apply Westport's high pressure direct injection (HPDI) natural gas fuel system using hydrogen. The companies say preliminary test results on using the HPDI 2.0 system with hydrogen on Scania's latest commercial vehicle engines are expected in the second half of 2021.
General enthusiasm for the sector has driven the stocks higher this year.
Today's news from Westport has investors excited for a potential new path for the company's technology. "Hydrogen use in an internal combustion engine with our HPDI fuel system could offer another cost-competitive pathway to reduce CO2 emissions from transportation," Westport CEO David Johnson said in a statement. He added, "This exciting evolution of our patented technology could provide an economic, competitive alternative to fuel cells."
Investors should be aware that any new potential market for this technology remains speculation until test results prove otherwise. But with general sentiment on clean energy gaining momentum, Westport Fuel Systems shares are the big winner today.
