Heck if their going to incur restructuring costs in the Qtr of $250K you might as well get all the ugly our via Goodwill impairment and any other write-offs in one QTR rather than having multiple ugly QTR's. Maybe they have more obsolete inventory to write-off too :(!.
At first glance next year the YoY comparison will surely look good if they ever start to do something. Of course the notated exclusions will explain why. Boo!!!!
Thanks for the detailed explanation.
Second Qtr in a row where they needed to file an extension. My personal opinion is having to file extensions doesn't reflect well no matter what the reason. Example: Kraft Heinz
So we should see the extension show up in EDGAR tomorrow since that would be 24 hours. Or unless the EDGAR postings don't get reflected until the next business day I guess.
I'm easily confused!! Where's the 10-Q, it's day 40 for accelerated filer isn't it?
Your joking correct? Figures are in 000's. I can't recall when the female engineer moved on. Just a guess.
Subsequent event in reporting per my review. Accrued Severance.
Legal Contingencies
During October 2018, the Company received a notice of intent to sue from a former employee. The Claims raised in the notice included accusations of pay discrimination, employment misclassification, and unfair labor practices. In April 2019, the Company reached a confidential settlement of the matter in the amount of $250. The Company has accrued this amount as of March 31, 2019, as a component of general and administrative expenses.
Just what I suggested yesterday
Maybe the auditors told them to clean up the 800K liability they have had on the books for years
Their just waiting as long as possible as they have to figure out how to write up their commentary to spin a productive story for what they did in the last 3 months. I guess a fact is they have 45 days after Q1 end unless they extend. Wednesday is the 45 days
They typically would report Q's in 37-39 days and we are past that.
Sincerely, a disappointed shareholder
No direct BUSINESS related press releases since 2017. WOW
I'm not sure what the "numerous delays" are but they are excuses in my opinion that most high achieving individuals/business's limit.
I believe BB said power wasn't an issue as they could run on the weekends.
It has to be a RM/cost/mass production issue that customers reject.
From inception to approval it may take roughly 12 yrs to get FDA drug approval. Is that what this is? I think I may be drugged!! LOL
Not on the board but marketmakers!! The PPS starts to drop 4-5 tenths of a cent on 5k to 10k orders and then a small 10-500 qty order props it back up! Never allows it to drop further.
The hype catches up with you!
Issued to CIP or wishful thinking?
"My expectation is to see us in the black by 3QTR19. That’s doable, IMO"
Sounds like a pretty aggressive opinion given $144K rev and $1.2M net loss in Q418.
Logical, emotionless and forward looking. Sounds like a plan others should follow as well.
ONE day, shortsided... sounds defensive! Regardless of what direction LQMT's PPS moves near term we as individuals are hopeful for their success otherwise we wouldn't spend some of our time on this board.
After 3 years of little noise I think we all are tired of hearing weak commentary such as we validated, we have our first, we are near completion, we continue to learn.......
Subsidize something if you have to in order to sell it and get your name out there. This industry will pass LQMT by if they don't start to move with more sense of urgency IMHO. Patents only hold others off so long.
You can be right if that's what you are looking for. I was just stating that it would be nice to see more current Apple activity with LQMT/CIP rather than Glassimetal. And I gave the example.
I could give a subjective answer as to how injection molding and amorphous metal are related to this patent and that can be using in mass CE production but why!
Your comment
"Apples most recent patents are written in generic enough form to use any amorphous material and the patents are assigned to Apple (not CIP or glassimetal). So there is no implication of any preferred choice specifically in any recent patents."
My comment
"Apple actively issuing patents with Glassimetal is better than silence with LQMT. :( "
Better to be a master at licensing ..... then a Jack of all trades and a master of none uhhhh LQMT.
Bottom line is results matter however we get there. We need to see Liquidmetal revenue and profit without having to kick the can down the road another 1 yr.
Is LQMT mass producing? Maybe Glassimetal is moving at a pace of 3 yrs to LQMT's 1 and since LQMT's carrot keeps moving they catch up. It's not like Johnson is starting from scratch.
Apple actively issuing patents with Glassimetal is better than silence with LQMT. :(
Apple's working with Glassimetal rather that LiquidMetal!!
Is this company a part of the MAZE? I don't see it at first glance.
New patent issued 2/26/19. Wearable device using amorphous alloy. Dongguan Jianye Material Technology Co., Ltd. (Dongguan, CN) Lugee Li was involved with them at some point if my DD is correct.

Is the inventor of the below 2018 cellphone patent our CEO? If so it was issued to the same company as above Dongguan Jianye Material Technology Co., Ltd. (Dongguan, CN).
Hopefully LQMT can benefit in some way at some point. :) Wishful thinking maybe on my part.

Subjecting a metal part to the shot peening process induces a residual compressive stress in its surface. This compressive stress counters the effect of tensile stresses during operation of the part, thereby improving its resistance to fatigue failure.
Wait for it, wait for it, a small order to drop it to .161 or to incr to .1645.!!
What are the odds that LF receives more machines in late 2019 or 1st half of 2020 once the power upgrade is behind us? 0%, 20%, 50%, 80%, 100%? I think there is more opportunity than just R&D at LF......Just my subjective opinion. "You build it and they will come"!! Sounds good anyways.
I understand you want demand but sometimes up front capital spend is necessary to bring the demand in. Li has the money.
Geopolitical environment may kill everything.
I'm interested to see what happens with the Raw Material Inventory (WIP, FG) balances (Trade A/R) once reporting takes place for YE.
Maybe the status of the new material import shipments late in 2018 really won't impact the 2018 10K but will be more of a wait and see look until 1Q'19 reporting.
We did have the large raw material obsolescence w/o in the 3Q'18 and we hope that doesn't continue. Produce!Produce!Produce!
Thoughts?
Is this the LQMT maze you refer to?

I think I heard a quote when the last President was laid to rest.
"negativity corrodes the vessel it resides in"
I think many people should remember this including myself at times! :)
As a business I wonder what everyone would expect the payback or ROE to be for an investment of 64M when the investment takes place in 2016? My guess is Li would have expected more revenue than we have seen.
Were we still on first base in 2016? I'd like to think not!

"How long did it take to perfect Liquidmetal?
I would not say Liquidmetal was perfected. This is a technology that has yet to be matured and perfected both in manufacturing process and application development. I should note that this is a completely new and different metal technology. Therefore, there is no suitable manufacturing infrastructure yet to take full advantage of this alloy technology.
For example, I estimate that Apple will likely spend on the order of $300 million to $500 million -- and three to five years -- to mature the technology before it can used in large scale."
Just my opinion but I believe the Chinese government played a role years ago in Li's plan. They are a bright, calculated and tenacious country.
Read this script and decide for yourself if it is plausible.

Really! just stop.... a 500 qty share purchase @ $0.169 ($84.50) by a pumper at 3:59:17 to make the PPS jump isn't really what we are all looking for in a rally.
A stable climb on positive company released news is what we all want!
Just curious ..... have you ever provided a $0.60 PPS prediction like many others have?
We all HOPE LQMT's product & machines will become the main go to material resource. 6mo old desc.
At present, the main materials of the body of mobile phones are metals, glass, and plastics, and ceramic materials are also used in some more advanced mobile phones. The metal Body is made mainly of aluminum alloy, which is mixed with a small amount of magnesium or other metal materials to enhance its strength.Jun 11, 2018

Wow you are really laying it on thick :) ...... where are my high water's when I need them!
Is this a 6 degrees of separation link to LQMT?
We can always HOPE in our lifetime we see meaningful revenues!! I think the rabbit is skin and bones because the carrot keeps moving out.
