Interesting article! The biotech sector will be doing very well in the next few months, even as PSTI is getting ready to release (hopefully) good clinical data. That should have a nice multiplier effect on the valuation.
Greggors, you managed to tickle bio-rese's funny bone. Good work. He needs something to cheer him up. He seems to "fear" something or other most of the time.
I did reread it, and unfortunately I can't completely disambiguate it. You're best qualified to do so, and if I misfired, my apologies,
zzaatt.
Thanks! I think the "silent majority" should speak up more often. The left is quite uninhibited in their non-stop (vile, fraud based, race-baiting, destructive) assaults on the rest of us. For those of us who have a deep appreciation of the greatness, generosity, idealism of this country, the incessant libel is unacceptable, and even on a "non-political" board, the not so subtle "slings and arrows" require a response.
If you only watch CNN (and main stream media), you'll see a non-stop jeremiad on Covid, driven by a vicious hatred of Trump and conservatives.
The left would do anything to regain power, including assaulting the last election (remember the massive fraud with the pee "dossier" in the center), and using Covid to destroy our economy, and impoverishing millions of the people least able to manage it.
The latest is a so far very successful effort to erase our history and heritage. Engendering race hatred is just a part of the effort. This is ISIS/Taliban level of destruction, and more effective, since it's done by left wing sociopaths, egged on by the highest levels of the Democrat party. Watch ISIS thugs smash 3000 year old antiquities with sledge hammers, and you'll see the parallel to the ANTIFAFA shock troops of the left.
The virus was loosed upon the world by the Chinese Communist Party, with malice aforethought. But the crazed, hate filled left is using it to demolish this country. I cannot imagine how H.Clinton would do any better. After all it was Trump who stopped Chinese travel to this country (coincidentally, contrary to Saint Fauci's advice), mobilized our industrial power to produce more ventilators than needed, set up hospitals in NYC, while Cuomo was sending the elderly to their death forcing nursing homes to take Covid patients.
I do appreciate your insights on Pluristem, but the political overtones are inappropriate and in my view utterly wrong-headed.
A good reminder for anyone in the USA who is pining for socialized medicine. One might also look at the performance of socialized medicine in Sweden, where "health" bureaucrats (faceless and unseen) practiced what is tantamount to euthanasia of elderly Covid patients.
No thank you!!!
I think they will (as others have posted). Ultimately, if it can save money for the overall treatment, AND, even if not, but it's of greater benefit for the patient, the insurance companies will have no choice.
The price becomes irrelevant if PLX-PAD produces substantially better results. I think patients (and even doctors) will insist on the best treatment, not the cheapest.
I didn't know. In any case, my desire is for a quick answer to the Covid efficacy question, and if it turns out to be under the purview of BARDA, it's perfectly fine with me.
It is interesting to note (as some have noted on this board) that Pluristem will be a huge success if it does nothing but produce good results for CLI.
On the other hand, there's good reason to hope that the Covid target will turn out as well, and in that case we have a huge multiplier effect.
Here's why I think our Covid chances are good:
1. It just happens that PLX-PAD does the sort of things it needs to do to modulate the immune response, and provide support for the organs that are under attack by the virus. In other words, there's good scientific rationale for expecting efficacy, based on many years of experience with stem cells (and I don't mean JUST Pluristem).
2. Many other organizations that work with stem cells have the same sort of expectations. In other words there's a general consensus as reflected by other significant (commercial) efforts using the same technology.
3. We have had some clinical feedback already. Yes, it was a small sample, but very strong results. Could it be coincidence? Maybe, but not likely.
I would rephrase the "High Risk, High Reward Play" to "Moderate Risk, High Reward Play"
Just read an interesting article from the guy who is the Chairman of the Global Lyme Alliance.
https://globallymealliance.org/covid-19-is-a-vaccine-the-answer/
He cautions about expectations for a quick vaccine solution, and emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic effort. In particular I found it astonishing that the research into finding a therapeutic is ten times greater than for a vaccine.
I think we've has a consensus on this board that if the effect of Covid could be mitigated to a point that it's no worse than a minor flu, we've gotten to a very satisfactory point.
It would also mean that allowing wider spread of the infection will get us to the famous "herd immunity", effectively achieving a general "vaccination" without a vaccine.
Let's hope Pluristem will be the hero who will achieve this goal.
