Yes sir, I agree with enjoying the passage of time now more than ever with a kid that's getting older and less dependent. I enjoy doing things for him now that used to be sort of a hassle...it's now a privilege and I take the time to enjoy, knowing how little of it is left.
I know that Missling is incredibly talented, way smarter than me, no doubt. My whole point is that when things are late, especially things with the magnitude with which he's dealing, the information delivered needs to be thorough and not leave anyone guessing what it means or waiting on some addendum...like some have in the past, period. That provides fodder for those that revel in the murkiness of the details we've gotten before where they claim the numbers have been cherry-picked, the data meaningless, or whatever. I know what "they" say is not the end all, be all, but there's a reason this board is filled with those that do it and those that counter it. If it meant nothing, then no one would bother to argue it, except those that do it for sport or more nefarious reasons. Honest people are left with questions. So, hopefully Missling takes the argument away and when he says something you can take it to the bank. I want him to finally put some folks in their place...even me...put me in the place where "I told you so" applies to my questioning his timelines and setting of expectations. I will happily take the shame.
I don't mind the extended wait (obviously), it's expected with the number of trials going on, and the complexity of it all, even if it's more than a year or two or three, as long as what's presented is concrete and continues to instill confidence and further de-risk the investment.
I'm done complaining, rambling, or whatever it was. Added no value to my life or to the life of anyone else.
That's the problem: He set the criteria for himself and AVXL.
So, no need to point to others in that I was not talking about others. I assume you are 100% pleased and if not, what other company set your expectation about how AVXL should be run?
We've been on the cusp of great news in '6 to '12' months for the last 6+ years. :) Not one announcement made by the CEO has left this crowd with anything other than more questions. Hoping that he fixes that, but the guy simply does not meet his own timelines, falls short of the expectations that he sets. Regardless of what fan boys say. It's just a flaw of his. No one is perfect. He does appear to be an excellent manager of money...he needs to be. :)
People point to the September 2020 release of the PDD as being on time, but that left people here wondering all sorts of things...and they are pretty much wondering the same to this day. People also point to the 'data rich' quarter and give him credit for that...but I don't think very many questions were answered then either. I think he pretty much restated what everyone else expected.
The results due at the end of the year 2021, pushed to then be around the end of the year 2021, and now around the corner as of January 2022, need to be of the type and the thoroughness that restores credibility.
If what's presented leads to any number of months of people waiting on supplemental information (as many are now for PDD), Missling himself will become a drag on the SP. Some think our SP has a Missling discount already. I personally think he has created a "show me" mindset with investors (big ones and little ones) and that's why the SP is not in some uber-speculative price range.
I have fewer shares than I used to have. About 10% less. Been here since 2015. Willing to wait until the end of this year. ALZ is why most of us started here.
A sure thing up or down? I need to make a big bet as well...big to me at least.
On the software side: In any decent EMR (I've seen some that are bare bones), there's extensive coding that allows for a myriad of configurations all related to routing messages, prioritizing messages, confirming messages, handling messages, etc., with whole development teams dedicated to this alone.
On the users side: Could be as simple as one person saw it as 'sent' because it left their queue only to be routed to another user (or pool of users) for approval/review and the approval or review never happened.
Pray all things happen as you hope. I read your post the other day about taking the fight to the issue you're dealing with.
I always think of him as Bobby Finstock (the original)...and there's a Michael J. Fox association which makes it even more applicable.
I basically did the same...got a partial fill at $19 a day or so ago and have been slowly moving my bid up thinking I would take advantage of some flash crash, but to no avail. Will try again tomorrow.
You think the high $18s? I have a bid in the low $19s...but have been wondering where it was headed.
Columbus used to have the double-A affiliate for the Astros. The Columbus Astros. Saw Glenn Davis play there when I was a kid. I believe he's the one whose foul ball almost hit my Mom in the head. :) He owns some businesses there now. Then they became the Mudcats, then the Red Sticks and now another minor league club is/is about to play there.
I know you were not asking me specifically, but I "think" AVXL is not trending with those folks because they are not seen as an ALZ play at this time...they've only really reported RETT and PDD results...nothing results-wise with ALZ in a long time...the last report, someone reminded me a couple of weeks ago, was about trial enrollment. I believe if they give an ALZ report that's good/great, coupled with the period of time A2-73 has been safely dosed, then we will see significant increases in SP.
Currently in Troup. Born in Columbus.
I'm in GA too. Good to know I'm not the only Georgian. I cannot remember the last time Fidelity was down...so I thought it was me.
Yes, I do not think that the lack of new ALZ information is an excuse for an analyst making price predictions for those companies as if they are on the fast-track while ignoring AVXL, but it could be that, with at least two of those listed (I am not familiar with one of them), that the analyst is playing the news cycle and not doing true long-term analysis.
Maybe once AVXL enters the news cycle for the ALZ space, some analyst(s) will make similar, bold predictions.
Sincere question: Is some of it because AVXL has only been reporting RETT and PDD information/results? When was the last AVXL ALZ update? I wonder if AVXL begins to be included in these discussions once additional ALZ information/results are delivered.
Those were some of the first buys I made in my IRA and I still have them. It was like buying them pre-split all over again. All the pre-split shares are still in a former Scottrade account...seeded with the proceeds from the sale of a beautiful 72' Corvette that would never have reached the value of those shares. :)
About 41 mins in…and toward the end she speaks highly of it again.
Is that why 'benny' and 'Zig' quit posting? :)
I tend to agree with most of your rants/venting/observations.
Did anyone ever get in touch with 'bennyboy1' to see where/how's he's been? I know someone posted basically the same question a while back.
I thought they really meant Citadel and Robinhood in that others (not here per se) speculated that Robinhood made some of their decisions to protect Citadel. Not sure how true that is, but both were called to appear before congress.
Or they would be down 70% waiting on results...
In your opinion, who is dumping the shares? (If you'd rather not say, I understand.)
I've only been around since October of 2020. Since then, the only ones I know that have shares of mention are a couple on this board, RB Capital, and company executives.
So, no one has a real explanation of why we went from $5-6 to current $11-12 (and momentarily beyond). However, when people question approving a 100 million more shares, the response is sometimes 'but look at what we gained'...when in reality, the CEO of AVXL doesn't know why.
They are, in essence, asking for 100 million more shares based on what they've done to date, which amounts to $5-6 a share. That's where we'd be without this mysterious gift of increase...not via an AVXL triggered catalyst.
How many would vote for an extra 100 million shares while at $5-6, while still waiting on results for any number of things? And with timelines associated with those 'things' being forever pushed forward? Another example today with the clinical trials update. This example associated with what was supposed to be easily managed and quick, right? All the patients lined-up, they bragged on their ability to adapt to the pandemic, etc.
This is why I voted 'No' to the additional 100 million shares. Tie the request to something tangible...anything at this point. I think the CEO has managed the funds better than I've seen from others (at least in 'how' they dilute), but they have yet to deliver anything that doesn't have an asterisk beside it. The asterisk is like a dot, right? The dots give hope and that's why most stay invested.
If something comes up and they need additional shares, they can call a special/emergency meeting or whatever. Do they 'need' them or just 'want' them? If they need them, tell us why as opposed to a request with minimalistic detail which amounts to standard, ho-hum legalese.
I hope that AVXL delivers something sans asterisk, something irrefutable. My share of AVXL is only .00045 (based on current AS count…soon to be .000225), so it won't cause them any trouble that I voted 'No', but hopefully enough do it to where they become more forthright with their plans, more transparent as to why dates always change, why deliverables remain undelivered.
I've yet to receive an email. I did get a call from (855) 643-7313 yesterday. I searched for it and it's listed in this form: https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/avxl/SecArticle?guid=14866008
I assume this was because I had not voted all my shares (half in one account and half in another). I've done that now and do not anticipate them calling back.
I do remember reading people getting calls about their shares, but this is the first time for me.
I agree and will be voting ‘No’ as has been my plan since it was presented. If you claim to have three years and no reason to raise money as per one of the last updates, then deliver something on time for once and then circle back around and ask.
I wrote them a long time ago about the same subject, conveying the same concerns. AVXL has a serious problem with dates, milestones, whatever is related to expectations...expectations that they themselves set. The counter argument is always 'this takes time', 'no one has ever done this before', etc. But, at some point what is said, what's projected, conveyed, announced has to happen...I cannot recall one instance where they said something would complete by a certain date and hit that date. That's why those that have been here a long time have a normal calendar and an AVXL calendar...where the AVXL calendar has a proportional lag time: Days = Months, Months = Quarter years, Half Years = Whole Years, etc..
It's hard to understand how one person can be so spot on from a financial standpoint and not hit a date to save their life. And when they do announce, late, they tend to leave people with more questions than answers. This is why the SP is where it is.
Hold on...the SP is rising as I type...never-mind. :)
Same here, since 2015. Not that I knew it would be great. I thought PRAN was going to be great. :)
The shelf registration was after hours on a Friday. :)
Maybe not necessarily a PR.
Hopefully there's a third category into which I fall. :)
I'm that daft. :) I am not greedy, but when you weigh the long-term potential, $50 seems like short-term thinking...and most short-term thinking is based on greed/impatience...which fuel one another at times.
I've been trying, but they have not quite gotten to my bid. Probably will not...today at least. Would be happy if it never hit it.
Been waiting to see what you wound-up doing. :)
I will attempt to get the rest of the ones I want soon. I have a GTC set, but unless it flash-crashes, I may not get them that cheap. Maybe I can get some in AH if it gets silly.
Thanks for the reply...appears the train is leaving the station...not sure if I will chase it or not.
You do not anticipate a Friday swoon due to a long weekend? I have a few more left to get, but wasn't sure if I should wait.
Thank you for the information.
I tend to pay attention to what you post, even though it's usually in the form of a riddle. :) This particular one, not so much. I hope that you are correct and I do not have to chase anything...and I hope we are talking about the same gap...and not the store.
I have a GTC at $10.75 for 17k. Maybe it will get taken out at some point...else I will have to chase it a bit.
I though I was the only one watching ANVS...no clue you two from the AVXL board were here and actually invested.
I owned a few thousand shares a while back but sold them because they were not doing anything and, to be honest, knew too little about the company to know when any real catalysts would occur. I saw another opportunity and 'thought' I had time to get back in at the same position or better.
I intend to buy in the near future. Just not sure where a good entry point will be.
Thanks for creating the board.
Fidelity was having issues too.
I know I'm an idiot. :)
After 5+ years, I finally feel that we are making real headway. Not sure where or when it ends, but the foundation seems to be firming up.
Nidan7500 and Fireman, you are both exactly right. She chose her own words, she's a leader in her field, she knows the ramifications of what she says, in a professional sense, and what happens to her if what she says has no validity. There was no rah-rah, no false enthusiasm...it was, more than likely, the fact that she's been exposed to suffering children and parents and when she finally sees some hope, she spoke of it. Did not veer outside of any lanes, stayed true to her position and profession.
There are some that post here that have taken on a self-appointed role whereby they write as if they are saving us from ourselves, as if they are sent from God to temper our enthusiasm. I for one do not need a lesser-savior. They can save the 'Yeah, but...' for a time when they know more than the rest. Until then, the constant taking of the opposite side of an argument, for the sake of argument, is boring and bears no fruit.
But, I'm a 'dumass'...so, don't listen to me.
