Look, i'm not trying to argue or pointlessly talk negative about the company. The process just seems very illogical to me and not very planned.
Why would Coates need to take apart a generator sent by Cummins in order to take internal measurements to manufacture parts for a Cummins engine while they supposedly are working in some fashion of a business collaboration with Cummins? It doesn't make any sense. Cummins should and would be able to provide them that data immediately. Why waste "a relatively short timeframe" of waiting for components to be manufactured when you could have already had that started or even delivered? It's not in either of their interest. They could test, immediately take apart the engine and make their replacement, reassemble, then retest and save weeks. Historically speaking, at least. Also, there's 0 reason to not have a pretty darn close to accurate timeline.
Am I missing something?
It's a motor bud, its the same spec as every other motor made under the same model. Do think there are spec differences between every 2015 Ford F-150 2.7? If you concerned about variances in pre-purchasing the same motor used in these generators to take measurements, then the company is already done. If they take measurements directly from the motor in the generator and those measurements don't match every single other motor of that exact same model then they are doomed either way.
I work with a collective of 20+ engineers and 300+ industrial mechanics in a $400MM industrial facility and deal with specs on equipment that make the engineering of these components look like sunday morning toilet reading. What i am discussing here is, in the scope of engineering, child's play, not nuclear physics. I'm not talking out of ignorance here and if you truly knew engines you'd be asking the same question i'm asking.
Yea it doesn't make sense to me. If i have the potential for millions of dollars in profits and I'm told in advance that they are sending me a generator with a Model# XXX engine that I am to retrofit. I would have bought a Model# XXX engine ASAP and had those parts manufactured way in advance. I mean we are talking several thousand dollars here not some large capital investment.
Wouldn't you suspect that Coates knew in advance exactly what model engine was coming their way and would have these components made in advance? I would figure that setup would be more advantageous for Coates and Cummins. No?
I concur. Quantity of forum posts directly correlate with accuracy and pps movement.

"...in a relatively short timeframe..." haha that's one of the more funny statements i've seen in a PR.
I started to go back and do a little timeline of your posts from April forward, but I can save a lot of time and just write it out.

Your historical accuracy is so on point. This is my lowest performing stock, my penny portfolio is averaging 31% for the year and my real investments are at 9%. I need to take your advice for what? SNTA was doing really great too until that 80% drop on canceled trials....don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Weren't you going into the shadows or something yesterday?
How many of those things have generated profits as of today, and/or are 100% no questions asked guaranteed short-term future profits?
It jumped on speculation of FDA approval and now that's potentially months away. Anyone hoping to make money in relatively short term is bailing
Manipulating this how? It's at the same point it was back in August and there's literally zero reasons for it to be increasing
my buy is set at .003
meh
He designed a component to make engines more efficient, those people effectively changed the world...let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
you literally said the exact same thing last friday....
I think that this company has a very strong chance of doing well in the long run, but I don't share your optimism around bottoming out. If openly stating that they have 150MM in pending orders doesn't keep the stock from dropping, what could possibly keep it up over the next several months waiting for any real evidence of shipments? Just seeing the response from the two recent PR's makes me believe that even a PR stating shipments have been made won't do too much. Revenues are going to have to be shown on a 10-Q or 10-K before it moves up.
Not bashing the stock or company, just my thoughts. I got out Friday, but i'm definitely keeping an eye on it. Hope the longs make some serious cash here though.
look at it run....
look at the 90MM PR last week and see how it did....
without an explanation the deal from last week by friday, im out
I wouldn't argue that at all, but that momentum would have to be followed up with something bigger within a few months to keep it from selling off.
A decent detailed update on what Jack is up to would definitely be very beneficial.
The test with Cummins is definitely crucial, but its one baby step in a long process. Positive results there would definitely provide a spike to the stock, but it wont hold. Profits create that hold and even if Cummins thinks this product is the greatest thing since pockets, they still have to go through vigorous field tests outside the control of Coates before they would actually commit to creating any sort of real joint venture. Then at that point they have to convince their customers to buy...and I can tell you from my point of view that when a rep comes into my office and tries to sell me any sort of new technology, I require 3 or 4 references running in our environment that have had that equipment running for a few years before I really give it a second look....which you can obviously see the dilemma there when it comes to making sales and generating profits. This product may do amazing things, but it's not going to take the world by storm in the next 6-12 months. In China, North Africa, and the middle east, maybe they can do big things over there because they are more able to take large risk and not function under strict policies and standards.
The percentage makes no sense as a good faith committal. The fact that they can't cash it until they can provide lead times shows very blatantly that George either has no idea when they can start production and what his production capabilities will be at that point or that his supply chain isn't anywhere near to being set up. I generic response would be "they didnt just give him 500M for nothing", but in all reality they haven't given him a penny until he can give them confirmed dates. You can't claim in a PR that it's a 90MM deal if they are only providing an LOC for 50% of the order...that's called a 45MM deal and as a manufacturer, George is a god awful business man if he has factually sat down and signed an agreement worth 90MM while only receiving 1/2 of 1% of the agreement as up front capital. For non-commodities, you just about can't get a 500M order from a manufacturer these days without putting up at-least 30% before shipment, and that takes negotiating from the procurement side to get it to that point.
It's just super odd to me. I don't care if someone signs a $50 Billion agreement for future sales, it all means jack until they are mass producing units because at the current rate of production, it will take infinity to generate these 5000 units.
Again, im not saying its BS, im just saying it looks super odd. As always with my skepticism, i hope im wrong.
Which makes 0 sense
that wont be for some time from what i get out of that PR
if you are a manufacturer its just as easy as 10,000,000 or 11.
He must have no idea when production will actually be able to start
I wouldn't expect to see an update today. Even if a verbal deal was confirmed yesterday, it could still be weeks before any formal deal is finalized. Not to say that it wont happen either, but in my experience, a manufacturing deal as described would take some time to iron out details and legalities. I spend several days reviewing just the t's and c's of capital equipment suppliers and contractors and sometimes it takes weeks to get to a finalized set of t's and c's for any given contract if i have disputes or vice versa.
Not trying to be a downer and I hope in this instance I am incorrect, just my thoughts.
LOI's do not mean there will be a signed contract. Please keep that in mind.
I was a big fan of a week ago, but now is just as good a time as any
Sylvia
Hasn't he confirmed that the RS will happen in 2015?
I second that. I'm not selling jack and I actually bought a little more on Friday. I've shared this design with a lot of my engineering colleagues and had a lot of good conversation and although I wouldn't go as far as calling George an engineering genius, i believe in the design and the solutions it provides. However, at the end of the day, Jack Perkowski is my focus and the only reason i confidently own shares.
where is the 8-k from friday?
I wouldn't be overly worried. Don't buy and sell on emotion, you'll kick yourself in the butt for it and lose money. I've owned stocks that have dropped 30% during the day and recovered green. There are definitely a lot more knowledgeable folks than I, but I've done a lot of reading around Amedica and I feel very good about the next 2-3 months. I have an account with a decent amount of shares that I bought at .25 for long term hold and I have another account that I've been accumulating in the .38-.45 range for what I plan to sell in the .8-1 area in the next two-three months. Whether that will happen or not is up to the universe, but I feel confident in it. Just my thoughts. Do your own research and never believe a damn thing you read on IHUB for face-value:)
I'm Still Yelling!
Exclamation Points! I'm Yelling! I'm currently yelling on COTE, RXMD, AND PPCH!!! Everyday! Several Times a Day! I Have Been For Months! Even Though I Dont Own Any Shares of Any of Them! Listen To Me! Because, Exclamation Points!
I think anyone who has been paying attention for any length of time put any eggs that they had left into this basket back in the .015-.016 range. The quick jump up spawned a good selloff on profits from the more daytrader oriented folks and it hasn't fallen to a level for those folks to jump back in. All the rest of us are just sitting with our positions as actual investors. Tomorrow will bring larger investors and the smaller folks sitting at their PC's will chase.
Then why are you here? Please answer that one question. Why do you post 20 times a day on a trash company stock board that you have 0 position in. Do you really have no other obligations in your life at all whatsoever that this is what you're left with?
To who?
