Man, you ask tough questions. I own all three and am overloaded iae.v as well. I have an overweighted position in mauxf.pk, but not by much and I am somewhat nervous about Nigeria, which is the only reason I am not adding more. I have an underweight position in Mill.ob only because I should have bought more in the 1's and all the way up to its current price. Problem is, I can't decide if it is going to go anywhere any time soon. Personnally, I see the upside and downside of IAE.v and Mill.ob as about equal right now. I will be interested as well in any other answers you recieve.

This news from the CEO came out approx. 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Why could it not wait 90 minutes until 4 pm for the release? Did KD have a friend waiting for happy hour? At least everyone would have had time to speculate about the meaning and ramifications of the news over the weekend before the selloff on Monday. I am not saying the market reaction would be any different, but it was again poor form on the part of management to put this somewhat confusing message out before the market close. If there are assets to be recovered in a class action, perhaps the handling of this news release will just add more fuel to the fire. Just thought I would get that out there since I have not read any comments on this latest lapse by management.

Well, here goes, I had to search for the brackets, I have not hardly followed college BB or the pros this year, so can only go on seedings and gut feeling. Hope I am not too late.

IAE.v is already my #1 position with NEP a close second. Now we just need some strong execution and a little drilling luck.
tmcal6
iae.v
Well, is today that breakout day for IAE.v? I don't see any news, but volume and trades would suggest that there is some institutional size buying. I am holding on to every share until the story changes, which I hope will be a long, long time.
tmcal6
With no news, the silence by EGMI will justify shareholder lawsuits if there is anything there to recover. Silence also should tell shareholders that there is nothing there to recover. Either way, it will keep trading between 20 and 40 cents for some time.

In my account Schwab assigned a number, 1822287, for it. They often do that for a stock that is going to have a symbol change, be acquired, or have some other action associated with it.

10 bagger, I am like many, somewhat indifferent. I follow the Motherboard obviously, Junior O&G, Junior Minors (mainly gold these days), Emerging Chinese Small Caps, some individual stock boards, and once in a while, the Free for All. I don't post a lot, but once in a while I will post a junior miner or O&G post on that board and the Motherboard if I feel it merits broader attention. I assume I don't violate a rule if it meets the profitability criteria. Anyway, I will be glad when I stop working my full time job, retire and start doing VMC boards full time.
tmcal6
Well that is an interesting bombshell for your first post under your new screen name. I can understand why you might want to present the information in that manner. If true, it is amazing that some one has not posted it before. I live in No. Cal and will be in SoCal next Monday and Tuesday and though about doing something similar, but thinking about it and acting on it are two different things. I have only a token position now after selling over 400K over the past 8 months, so I probably would not have taken the time to check it out. I hope it was only an official mail drop, but I am afraid that may not be the case. GLTA
NEP
Definitely not good news, but I understand NEP is not the first of the US listed China stocks to go through this. I believe NEP is the first O&G stock, however. There will be a selloff, and although I already hold a bunch, I may buy a little more if the price gets attractive. Any thoughts on the accounting issues?

Maybe the ships will take the new prototype P2O machines and their catalysts offshore and operate without environmental permits. That is one PR we have not seen yet. Oh, I almost forgot:

Here is the latest post from JBII board that disappeared:
JBII will probably be one of those stocks talked about for a long time, but I doubt that it will be for achieving a possible exchange listing or ever turning a profit. I can only talk about the stock here, or something may happen to me. I have already been told I am close to being banned from this Board, so if you don't hear from me again on this Board you will know why. It may prove to be a badge of honor to be banned from this board. I am trying here to write a post that won't be deleted, since so many of them have been today.
So let's ask the question, are any of these facts true?: John B, the CEO and founder and inventor made a habit of reviewing the information he salvaged on thousands of computer tapes from NASA. He was the only one who could read the tapes, and each tape has thousands of pages of information and John B. found this needle in the haystack of a catalyst to convert platic 2 oil, cheaper and better than any other technology out there and that have not yet proven to be commercially successful. I guess John B achieved this because he has an IQ over 170 and he works harder and smarter than anyone else. I am talking about the CEO here, and things that have been said about him already on this Board. So I hope no one is offended.
Send me a PM if you would like to share some thoughts about JBII that somehow can't seem to stay posted on this board.

Here is one of the posts that was deleted:
Why do you feel the need to repost your lengthy pump entitled "JBII for dummies" about once every 2 or 300 posts, when you already have "stickies" with the same "valuable" information? One of your crew sent me a PM saying it was for people who just drop by this popular board and are not familiar with “stickies”. To that I replied, well why does the same post “JBII for dummies” appear multiple times on other boards.
I know you and a few other large investors on this board will protect your existing and future gains by dumping when the time is right, or should I say before the house of cards comes tumbling down.
I just can't decide whether that will occur before April 24 or six months from now. But it will happen.
You and a few other unnamed frequent posters on this Board who are pumping JBII are a couple of the best at this style of "promotional" investing I have seen, and I admit I have participated by investing alongside in some of these investments. That is part of the investment process/game and all investors are responsible for making their own decisions.
Maybe I should repeat this post once a day on this board just to level the playing field. GLTA

Yes, Z, I am having a good day. This post is specifically related to JBII as the best performing stock on this Board. Don't think about posting discussion of the motivations of some of the frequent posters on the JBII board, oh and I forgot, possibly on this board as well. The posts will likely be deleted as rapidly as possible.
Any post that might disrupt the current pump and the expected future successful exit from JBII by certain pumpers will disappear. Oh, I forgot, and you might disappear from that board also.
I will post a couple of my recent posts from the JBII board that were deleted so you can discern my nefarious intent.

Is it good or bad that management needs a week to decide on or maybe have something to say?
tmcal6
IAE -- No news yet that "I" can see. Could be one or two decent size holders not liking the drop in oil prices, or possibly moving to cash in a big way, or having some insight into the Reserves numbers, or just dumb and scared, or just smart and scared. In other words, Don't know. But I have another buy order in at 1.17 if it gets back there. I missed the initial drop to that level.
tmcal6
Sold my last 45K today. Owned over 400K a year ago, probably 200k 2 months ago, and about 120K just a week ago. EGMI always has been an interesting stock, it is just that I can't grasp whether it will be a success or a big disappointment. I guess risks on the downside offset the potential. GLTA
R59, I agree with Len, great post to summarize the two decades. The only measure left out that may add perspective is inflation. I suspect inflation even beat the averge for the R2K in the "Lost Decade". A big question for public and private pension plans across the country are what investment returns may be achievable over the long term going forward. Good luck and investing in this new decade.

NEP
R59, I am not a technician either, but while there was no news that day, it was being pushed as a top stock by Motley Fool for a couple of days running. I don't think it fills unless it disappoints with announcements in the New Year or the price of oil falls to the low 70s or lower.

Correct Cl, and this may just be the start of an uptrend that is overdue. We need some nice increased Reserve reports for Jacky and Beatrice to really set this one off. Hopefully there will be nothing but good news for the next 2+ months.
And NEP is just aching to break out. Two days in a row it powers above 6 to just fall back near the close. A nice earnings report next quarter reflecting the recent acquisition should be the impetus for the stock price to knock on the double digit door in 2010.

IAE.v and NEP
Both companies have positive news today and both are undervalued and are my largest positions. Both are drillers/operators in areas where they know there is oil and they are good at extracting it. If the average price of oil stays above $70 over the next 12 months, they could both double from here. I particularly like the news from Ithaca that current daily production from Jacky and Beatrice is averaging over 14,000 bpd.

I asked the company when we might expect updates on reserves for Jacky and Beatrice. I received the following response:
In our latest presentation on our website, we show a schedule for lodging reserves dossiers with Sproule ( our reserves auditors). To date, the Harrier, Hurricane and Stella Chalk dossiers have been lodged. The cost update on Athena has alos been sent. On Jacky Sproule has all our latest mapping but is awaiting flow results from the production well post water injection. We have not announced rates to the market yet. On Beatrice , we will await the results of the workovers on Bravo before sending the reserves dossier to Sproule. On Carna, we are still awaiting finalised numbers from Venture the Operator.
In summary and in answer to your question, mid December for Jacky and end December for Beatrice, but likely some other upgrades before then.
My conclusion is that December should have a few announcements. Hopefully they will be positive.

{"s" : "nep","k" : "c10,l10,p20,t10","o" : "","j" : ""} Third Quarter 2009 Results
Net sales in the third quarter were $14.4 million, down 24% from $19.1 million in the same period last year. This decrease was due to a 43% drop in the average oil sale price to $64.33 from $111.90 in the prior year period. Crude oil production output for the third quarter increased 30% to 224,219 barrels from 172,730 barrels in the prior year period, which offset the impact of lower oil prices. The increase in production output was mainly due to an increase in the number of producing wells to 259 (with 3 additional wells under construction) as of September 30, 2009 from 254 as of June 30, 2009 and 218 as of September 30, 2008. Of the wells operating on September 30, 2009, 227 producing wells are located in the Qian'an 112 oilfield, 18 in the Hetingbao 301 oilfield, 7 in the Daan 34 oilfield and 7 producing wells in the Gudian 31 oilfield.
Mr. Hongjun Wang, President of China North East Petroleum commented, "Despite a 43% decrease in the average oil sale price, we continue to report strong operating results, as our crude oil output increases year over year. We are pleased with our ability to broaden our production output, and with our ability to execute well against our internal plans. During the third quarter, we successfully raised $18.4 million in financing through a public offering of 4 million shares of our common stock. We were very encouraged by the market's response to our offering, and the funds allowed us to proactively pursue our consolidation goals. Shortly after our successful offering, we acquired Tiancheng, an oilfield services business. We are extremely excited about this acquisition, which transforms China North East Petroleum into a more diversified oil services and production company, with incremental revenue opportunities, additional lease opportunities, the ability to accelerate our drilling schedule and lower operating costs, and perhaps most importantly, diversify our cash flows in order to continue to achieve strong financial results in all market environments."
Cost of sales decreased by 39%, to $5.6 million for the three months ended September 30, 2009 from $9.2 million for the three months ended September 30, 2008. The decrease in cost of sales resulted primarily from a decrease in the oil surcharge paid to the PRC government, due to the decline in oil prices generally. For the current quarter, the Company paid an oil surcharge of $1.7 million to the PRC government as compared to $4.5 million paid for the prior year period. Gross profit in the third quarter decreased 11% to $8.8 million from $9.9 million in the same period last year. Third quarter gross margin increased 924 basis points to 61.2% compared to 52.0% in the prior year period.
Third quarter operating expenses increased to $1.1 million, or 7.5% of sales, from $1.0 million, or 5.1% of sales, in the third quarter of 2008. This is primarily a result of increased professional fees and consulting fees from recent business development activities. Third quarter operating profit was $7.8 million, or 54.2% of total sales, compared to $8.9 million, or 46.8% of total sales, in the prior year period.
Net income for the third quarter decreased 18% to $4.1 million, or $0.17 per diluted share, versus $5.0 million, or $0.24 per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2008.
On September 30, 2009, the Company had cash and cash equivalents of $33.2 million, compared with $22.7 million at the end of the second quarter. The current cash position includes $17.3 million net proceeds raised in a public offering in the third quarter. This was offset by the Company's $8.5 million initial cash payment for the Tiancheng acquisition in the 2009 third quarter. The remaining payment of $4.5 million was paid in October 2009.
Fourth Quarter and 2009 Financial Outlook
For the fourth quarter of 2009, the Company anticipates total revenue of approximately $28 million, which includes approximately $15 million in anticipated revenue from the oil production business and $13 million of revenue from Tiancheng oilfield services business. Net income in the fourth quarter is expected to be in the range of $9.1-$9.3 million, or $0.32 to $0.33 per diluted share, based on a weighted average share count of approximately 27.6 million shares. The Company's fourth quarter oil production revenue estimate is based on its heavy, sour grade of crude oil traded in Singapore priced at $65 per barrel. The Company expects to drill approximately 25 new wells in the fourth quarter.
For the full year 2009, the Company now expects full-year revenue of approximately $62.9 million. This estimate includes the fourth quarter contribution from Tiancheng. The Company also anticipates net income of approximately $18.3-$19.1 million, or diluted EPS of $0.78-$0.81, based on a weighted average share count of approximately 23.4 million shares, reflecting the partial-year impact of the shares issued in our recent offering. The Company expects to have a total of approximately 284 wells at the end of its 2009 fourth quarter.
Please note that the fourth quarter and full year guidance excludes an annual non-cash adjustment gain/charge associated with a change to its depreciation of oil properties. According to SEC regulations, companies principally involved in the exploration and production of petroleum need to update their proven oil reserve estimate annually. This change to the Company's proven oil reserve could impact the company's cost of goods sold in the 2009 fourth quarter and could have a material effect to its net income for the fourth quarter and full year 2009 periods. The company expects its full year audit to examine the depreciation rate of its oil properties will be completed at the end of the fourth quarter. More information related to this topic can be found in the Company's most recent 10-K filing with the SEC and its fourth quarter 2008 earnings press release.
Mr. Wang concluded, "We are very pleased with the evolution of our company. China Northeast Petroleum has now reached a point in our maturation where we have enough visibility to provide investors with guidance and updates on our progress relative to our stated goals. We are excited about the integration of Tiancheng, which we believe will be a strong complement to our oil production business. We are thrilled with our company's execution as it relates to our internal plans. We expect to be on target to drill another 25 wells in the fourth quarter, which makes the fourth quarter by far our busiest this year. We plan to drill another 60-70 new wells in 2010 within our four existing oilfields. We believe that there is an opportunity to drill an incremental 320 new wells within our existing oilfields over the next 3-5 years, positioning the company for significant growth over the coming years with minimal new capital investment.
"Finally, with our solid financial execution, our strong balance sheet, and our access to capital, we expect to continue to be a consolidator within the industry over the coming years. We will continue to be opportunistic about purchasing businesses that will allow us to increase in scale, drill more wells, acquire new leases, and expand into new regions, in order to add to our shareholder value and further diversify and strengthen our business well into the future."
