I have a growing feeling an epic rug pull is heading our way...
Ah Haa, this is good insight. Thx.
My understanding tonight is it was less what J Powell said today that moved the market, and more about the dot plot that was released.
In the Dec update released today, no Fed governor is predicting a rate hikes going forward. In the previous Sep update, their were 3.
See 'Exhibit 18' in my sig below. Step #3 approaching. GLTY

This read suggests CTA's are heavy on the long side, and when the reversal occurs, the downside move could be exciting...
I inserted the note in bold text. GLTY

J Powell today...
Ninja.
Congrats to you. You were on the right side.
It could have gone either way today.

Is this a 'blow-off' top?
SPXL/TQQQ; looks like I got out too soon.
Bitcoin sharply lower tonight.
Here is a plausible explanation to why the talking heads have begun to use the 'R' word this past week. The authors opinion is the FED speakers have signaled the soft landing story is not working anymore, and its time to speak about the next phase.
I added the bold and underlined to the text for emphasis.
I believe the rug pull will occur in the next 30-45 days.
Keeping cash in hand until then.

...and now Elon has spit-in-the-eye of the Big Three automaker CEO's.
Definitely not the usual CEO.

I can't recall if I have shared this here before. $MOVE is the $VIX of bonds.
$MOVE crossing above the PPO 0.0 line today. Something to watch. GLTY

Maybe. Still looking like a frothy top to me, but nothing is impossible. GLTY
Yeah, not an eek for me personally either. I am ready for the anticipated draw down. Very ready. However, the majority of Americans will be negatively impacted. I don't want to be glib about some of their depleting wealth flowing towards me. ;)
This is suggesting the recession horizon is now 2 months closer. Eeek!

This too... The big banks that have been cheer leaders for a soft landing are started to speak the 'R' word out loud. IE hard landing (crash).

I have worked with Munro Associates in the past to refine, simplify, and cost reduce mechanical and electrical systems for high volume production. Sandy Munro is the founder. I have met Sandy, but never worked directly with him, only his underlings.
Munro started as an engineer for FORD, and was so critical of their results, he started his own company providing services to assist engineers get better results.
I stumbled onto this video tonight to learn a bit about the Cybertruck from an engineering perspective. Towards the end @ 38:10 Sandy 'thanks' Elon for standing up to Disney last week. Never expected a techie engineering video to wander in this direction.
I fear one of the things I will miss most in retirement will be close proximity to people much smarter than I and willing to share, but i digress.
You being an EE might find this interesting. In this video I learn the Cybertruck has a 48v electrical system, not 12v. This in part to to be able to use thinner gage wire, so less copper, and less weight.
Yeah, I used to closely watch the calendar, the weather forecast, subscribe to industry prognosis news letters, extrapolate futures to track contango/backwardation, and the like. NatGas is called the widow maker for a reason.
I have since simplified and just use the daily chart with simple trading rules. No longer trying to hit home runs, just get on base with a single or double and go with the momentum. I am a consummate student. Leaning is ongoing, and I adjust accordingly. GLTY
No doubt it will take some getting used to for me.
I read an opinion piece recently that compared the current agitators causing chaos on college campuses to the brownshirts of the 1930's. The similarity's are striking.
My plans have been to retire from my day to day mechanical engineering job in less than a year. My timing appears to be optimal. GLTY
