Proprietary in this sense means that it is a process and application of known technology that is considered to be owned by the company and may involve patents or copyrights. It also implies that the process or materials have not been divulged so that it can be duplicated. Once discovered by others, something that is prprietary can be recreated by others unless covered in part by patents, licensing [assignement] rights or copyrights.
Patented means that it is a technology or process that is so unique that it can be considered an invention. A patent contains 17 or 20 years of right protection and only inventors or their assignees of the invention have the right of manufacture or usage. Assignment of rights is without limitation and can have any stipulation deemed by the legally registered assignees recorded on the patent application after approval.
Yep, chicken or egg is the right way to phrase the origins of viruses. Now, I'm no "doctor" but here is what I have gathered from extensive research:
There are three primary theories for virus origins:
1)Viruses are little-changed descendants of very early organisms
2)Viruses are degenerate cellular organisms
3)Viruses are mobile genetic elements that detach themselves from their host cells
My guess that the truth is in some combination of all three theories.
RNA Virus-like organisms are thought to be the oldest of living things dating back a billion years or so. However, a virus is actually something that exploits other larger cells in order to replicate and complete its life-cycle. There is little doubt that viruses cause host cellular material to "turn maverick" and reform into new virions and exit the host cell. So, it seems that as organisms became more complex, certain virus-like organisms adapted to exploit a new source of nutrition and genetic base material for replication. So, probably, a proto-virus existed first, then came larger more complex organisms and then finally infectious viruses in the modern sense.
As some geneticists put it, all organisms, including humans, live long enough to replicate and continue their germ lines. Once the germ line is ensured, the parent organism is no longer necessary. Applying this to viruses, the capsid remains viable until it contacts a host cell and is admitted. It then breaks down into genetic material and begins replicating RNA at the expense of host material. This replication continues until the host material is expended. The original parent capsid no longer exists once the virion breaks apart. That implies that the host organism had to evolve first in order for the proto-virus to evolve into a virus in the modern sense.

Sagan, Agree that AURC, as are all pinkies, is PR driven. Though, an interesting parallel, don't you think? NDOL found support at .73 and was way down 11% or something. NY Gold was off of 26 year highs and closed down from there about 4.3% and found support at previous resistance. AURC closed down 4.5%.
IMO, AURC should have risen today, after the normal Friday sell-off, but weakness entered when gold failed to bounce back at close. Seems to me that AURC's close took a que from gold's small dip below 710 and settling at 710.50. JMHO
I like to look for connecting patterns. These connections often lend insight into action and they are invaluable for timing and trading strategies.
On Monday, news in the pipe moves us with or without gold. If gold moves up, AURC will move up without news. If gold moves down, AURC will test current support on Monday.
But, what do I know. I'm still learning the basics of TA to add to my understanding of co-occuring patterns.

Thanks grisgrin, and once the price begins to test new highs, it will once again begin to mirror AUs movement as opposed to NDOL's. After breakout, who knows how high the sky is? Does it stop at .60 or .80 or does it run in the direction of real value $2-$3 before retracement? One factor in the next price "rest stop" will be the action in spot gold.
The way I understand options is: if the avearage investor -the one that generally loses money in the market- did a hedging option play in the opposite direction of their market play, that investor would make lots of money.

That also does not include the holdings that NDOL brings to the table. Even without increased production, current revenue for North-west Oil Group per share NDOL is .96. Add to that NDOL's expected 2006 production of 2.3mm bbl and you have a renue to share value of $1.65. Right now NDOL is trading for half its real value, if not more.

I concur with the source of revenue for latest acquisition. AURC mines are not in development, they are active though low producing. That allows for short term borrowing or same as cash acquisition. Read the PRs. Clearly stated that there is revenue and that the next audit/filing will show several million in revenue.
Why this is trading sideways? TA traders are in control? Loss of confidence of weak investors? Buyers waiting for signals while accumulation increases and distribution drops on dips? Waiting for next quantum shifting value paradigm in the next PR? All of the above? None of the above? Who knows?
All I know is, once it starts it starts up again, it won't stop for awhile.
They did paint the ticker. They painted it sideways in spite of buying pressure. Looks better to the accumulators to have a spinning gyroscope, instead of a white candle. A white candle confirms a change in trend, while closing even shows indecision in the market.

Very nice comparison. Though I did not expect such a steep climb, one comparable to FMNJ might be an upper bound best case chart. Just the same, we are trading at $5 per ounce gold reserve, and a reasonable price would be 40 or more times that. Cool dude.
