The stock price is incorrect. It is not selling at .0002
There are no plans to fly 706. It is a passenger plane, Kalitta Air is CARGO. Kalitta plans to park one more of its own 747-200s in January and park the last one in April.
You only lost if you sold.?? I hope someday we know the whole story about the evacs, maybe somebody will write a book.
Kalitta is a cargo airline. The 767 is in huge demand, they are not just sitting around ready to fly. The plane will be ferried to Oscoda, probably by a Kalitta pilot, where it will be checked out and receive any major maintenance it might be ready for.
There were several legal issues that Baltia faced in the last couple years. We will never know if having a more experienced lawyer could not have made the difference.
Kelsey is Kalitta Air attorney, why would he NOT want to be involved in Connies latest venture?
There are some disgusting words right now that when searched on google, bring up a picture of Trump. I would like to show our anger for this kind of behavior by driving their stock price down. Anybody else feel the same?
Baltia pilots are Baltia employees. Baltia and choover will tell you the same thing. Training is contracted, not flying.
Baltia pilots are paid a stipend, like all pilots who are not flying.
Baltia has three full crews on payroll. We have discussed this a dozen times.
Pilots can stay current by visiting a sim every 90 days. That is how Baltia pilots are staying current. Baltia pilots are Baltia employees, we have had this conversation a dozen times.
Would you fly on a plane who's slides are never checked and simply replaced every six years? If you fly at all, that is the situation.
The canister indicators are checked, but the slides are never deployed until there is an emerg. And during that emergency, 37% will not deploy properly.
This is a well known industry fact.
Baltia has been held to a higher standard than any other airline to date. They were forced to implement the new SMS and several of the evacs were not passed because of slide problems that were out of baltias control.
I am wondering along with others, if it is because it is a Russian route. I am wondering along with others if this slimy administration has anything to do with the difficulty of getting this pass.
Anybody else?
Update on the baltia plane. The cushions are still down under every door, I don't recall ever seeing that before. Stairs are still in place.
Still waiting for paperwork/decisions/ditching. I think all of those things.
Holding tough on stock price tells the story. Nobody giving up.
Full dark will be in about an hour. Lots of activity will be taking place now. I am guessing the evac happens in about an hour and a half.
I just got back from checking the plane. Preparations have begun. The big lights are being rolled into place, various other portable units are being moved around. Checking again in an hour or so.
Over 20,000 round trip government flights to St. Petersburg per year. You know all of them are first class and they would love to get there and back a day earlier. Let's see, $18,000 x 20,000, that is about $360 million? Yes, Baltia, let's get them all!
There is no way to prove whether Igor was at JFK and certainly no way to validate whether he spoke with anyone regarding announcements or dates of evacs. I doubt Igor reads this forum and I don't think he would post here.
Baltia will perform their next and final evac as soon as FAA schedules one.
I work for a major airline, I guess I will need to tell our FAA guy from DC that is visiting at the end of July that he is making a mistake, that FAA guys don't leave Washington unless there is trouble.
The boys from DC fly in for lots of reasons, not all of them bad. In some situations there are quarterly visits.
The FAA scheduling problems related to Baltia Evacs have been described many times here. It is very unlikely that you will see an evac scheduled the week before, the week of or the week after a holiday. The Baltia FAA team consists of senior members, they get lots of time off. The F in FAA stands for FEDERAL.
Plus, check the news this week, there are several FAA sponsored activities, such as the disaster practices and other aviation events.
Baltia will get their evac. We just do not know when.
I agree, but you do what the FAA tells you to do. Let's hope it is true.
Kalitta, do you know how many slides had to deploy?
Domestic proving runs can include the flight from willow run to JFK. There will be several domestic flights first, then the international flights.
Baltia has had the proving run plans ready for months, they are ready to go.
I read your posts this morning, yes, retesting everything makes no sense. But the FAA is judge and jury and if they tell you to run it again, you run it again.
I have read that $100 million is required to start an airline. FAA is federal, money means nothing to them. Money cannot be used as a reason to complete evac demonstrations more frequently.
Your analogy is good, now just change it so that each time a lug nut fails, you also have to pay for testing all parts again.
I saw your buy, BB, my funds are still restricted! Next week.. I have been buying every month since June 2013.
Good observations, and welcome to the board. If you have been watching Baltia and this board for a while, then you see that we have been having a lively discussion about this evac and the soon to begin proving runs.
Please do not hesitate to ask questions.
BB, I will watch for that buy. My Baltia stock purchases always have 747 in the quantity. Sometimes at the beginning, sometimes at the end. I don't like round numbers.
Looks like not much volume today. Hope the sellers hold strong, actually. The board is quieter.
Baltia Bull, I like the way you think! Your posts are informative and pleasant to read. I am intending to buy more also, waiting for restricted funds to clear.
Six evac attempts are not unusual. What is unusual is performing them under public scrutiny. In the old days, they were performed in a hanger, with lights out. And there are funny stories about them. You can read all about the process online, but many items are checked during evac. Crew related, procedure related, aircraft related. FAA is judge and jury, as to when it is time to move on to proving runs.
Keep posting, don't let negative comments bother you. Do not hesitate to ask questions.
Baltia strong, anticipating great things in the next two weeks.....
Baltia cannot sell tickets until proving runs begin. And they will begin very soon.
Baltias plane, N706BL, has flown 3 times since July 2014. It is certainly not the planes fault that it is sitting on the TARMAC at Willow Run Airport, waiting for final, evac and proving runs.
Using all bold letters is worse than yelling, it is emphatic yelling.
Thanks, very good collection of information.
Tons of sellers and tons of buyers. Probably all the same 10 people, on both sides.
How does Baltia level 2 look? We have not had anybody posting their analysis in a while. I would like to hear about how it looks.
Baltia has the full support of the FAA as proven by the fact that June training was allowed to be completed in May, freeing up June for proving runs. If this process was not so public, as it is NOT intended to be, we would be celebrating each PR and not wallowing in details that make no difference to the process.
My prediction, based on my knowledge of the company and some of the employees, is that 14 days from now, we will be arguing about the merits of each leg of the proving runs, and guessing how much revenue each load of cargo is bringing in.
Mark your calendars.
The question was whether Baltia crew were contract. I do not know about other airlines, but Baltia crew are Baltia employees. I have no idea how much they get paid but probably less now than when proving flights begin and they are flying. Flying hours pay more.
Contract labor can be used for training and checking crew members but CAN NOT be used as crew members. All crew members are employees of Baltia.
Loaded like a freight train, flying like an airoplane. Buying Baltia stock as fast as I can.
LTO, even you must want to see this stock go into the weekend on a high note, don't you? Come on, join in here, rooting for Baltia! I know you can do it. One positive post before close.
Baltia close over $.009, you can do it.
Speckulater, maybe we should have been talking food earlier man!
