This is the third time it tried to get through .90 and failed. U ever hear of a triple top.
Hate to break it to you, cuz, this is old news.
FNMA has done $3 trillion in mortgages since 2009 and has stabilized the mortgage market. Winding them down would destabilize the market and nobody wants that again.
Being profitable again makes it a lot harder to wind down as well. The 5th amendment law suits would go on forever. Some sort of reform with both companies intact is probably the way to go. But I agree, until the market has a better feeling how FNMA is going to end up, the upside will be limited.
That's true but the speculation is they won't wind it down. Why would they wind down a company now earning billions a quarter? And already paid 36 bil in dividends. If someone in the Obama admin even hints that they're not going to be privatized the stock takes off.
Very, very speculative bet and there are a lot of novices on here talking crazy pos. But it has a chance of working out.
The problem is if they want to privatize, they would kill the common. That's the bet here.
The problem is FNMA will still be around, no argument there, but as a private company. That is a potential BIG PROBLEM.
That's why we need some idea of what they're going to do with it.
The common shares won't explode till we know.
Lots of issues still to be resolved that could hold the common shares from moving:

Everyone keeps talking about the earnings. It's the repayment of debt that's holding the stock back. Hello, wake up people!!
FNMA is allowed to keep 3 billion in cash per year. So 11.6 plus 6 bil for 2012, 2013 equals 17.6 bil. Looks like they only paid divs so far
One thing is for sure, Pfizer or any other major pharm won't get involved until clinical trials look good. Why would they?
Everyone keeps talking about an acquisition. How is this company gonna pay for an acquisition. More dilution, I'm afraid!!!
Reverse splits don't work well for listed stocks either!!
Let's hope so! That's the bet here.
We all know earnings will great, banks may settle, etc, etc, etc.
That's old news already.
Some one from the Admin has to give a hint what the Gov'ts thinking.
Until we hear something the cloud will remain and upside limited.
Gents, everyone knows about 2012 earnings, everyone knows Q1 2013 will be great. That news is known by the street. The CEO publicly stated it.
The major problem here, and what's holding the stock back is what happens to the common stock. The preferreds keep moving up. Don't forget the market prices are always forward looking.
Until that cloud is lifted, great earnings are not going to get this stock moving. It would have moved already. If Intel said it's next quarter was going to be a blowout, the stock would be up 10 points in a day.
We need some kind of hint from the Obama admin what they're going to do with FNMA!! Sure we may get over a $1 but a big move is not coming until the future of FNMA is better understood. IMHO. GLTA
C'mon take out .90
GO FNMA
Don't forget gents, resistance at .90, if it gets up that high.
Couldn't get over .90 last 3 tries.
That news that came out yesterday makes this a long term hold. Fast money crowd is dumping. If you're a long term player (12-18 months) buy on the dips. And there is still possible deal with Pfizer.
But a reverse split is a possibility too.

FOYJ email pump started today. Over 400 mil shares traded
Top of the World!!
Go IDVC
The problem is it's not up to the CEO what happens to FNMA.
I know there are alot of novices on this board who don't know a lot about the markets and how they work. There are also a lot of guys like me, who have been around the block a few times. All we could ever hope for is positive news. Well with FNMA we got the best news possible. The best earnings in the company's history. And going forward looks great. But everyone knows this. The hedge fund managers know it, speculators know it, long term investors know it, mutual fund managers know it, the shorts know it.
And the stock is at 85 cents. And the stock market is always forward looking.
Now if someone in the admin made a positive statement about FNMA, then we have something to get excited about.
I am accumulating but it's not going to be clear sailing to 10. A lot of problems have to be resolved. Many in Congress absolutely hate this company and want to see it dissolved. Very unlikely, but it could take along time to figure this all out.
The Obama Administration is literally doing nothing to resolve it.
I am not short but all this talk about going to 50 next quarter is insane.
There may be nothing wrong with the common shares but there is a perception out there that there is something wrong. Until that cloud is lifted the stock may not move up much. Don't forget, the market already knows that the first quarter earnings will be great. The CEO has already said that. Can u imagine if Intel said next quarters earnings will be blow out . The stock would be up 10 points in a day
You guys have to remember there is still a tremendous amount og controversy surrounding this company. That's why the preferreds keep moving and not the common.
What happened in 2009 will not be forgotten just because FNMA is now profitable. The stock price is telling u that. We need a clearer understanding of what happens to FNMA before the stock really moves up.
The only catalyst that could make this move up in the short term is the rumors of a Pfizer deal. Still expect a sell off in the morning.
6000 shares of stock is roughly $19.00.
Read it again. We're looking at late 2014 into 2015 when this drug will start bringing in revenue. Do they have enough cash to get them to 2015 or do they have to dilute some more?
It would sell off because it now has a 12-18 month time frame. The fast money crowd will get out of this now.
The Stock probably sells off tomorrow morning and then the bargain hunters come in. If you're a long term holder buy the dips but beware, longer term, there is always the risk of a reverse split.
It don't come easy, gents, or we'd all be rich. Let the weak hands shake out.
Good too light vol today. No selling pressure.
Now we need the big boys to come in and start taking out offers
It's always 3 steps forward, 2 steps back. Patience, gents
Strong bid now!! Going higher
Those with balls of steel will make the most $$$$. Don't let the bastards shake you out!!!
Possible deal with Pfizer as reported by Sierra. She actually says it's a done deal and news coming any day.
Is this Sierra reliable?
I wanna take you higher!!!
That's just his opinion!! FNMA making too much money to wind down. Who in their right mind would wind a company making that much money?
I guess that doji was right!!!
Any concerns about the doji reversal pattern on the candle chart?
Isn't that a bullish doji on the chart?
