I luv the look and feel of the phones (Z10 Z30) ...the keyboard ones look dowdy. It will be interesting to see what happens with BBRY going forward.

Is the main driver of the sell off the tax that Mexico is placing on mining companies? AR seems to be affected as well.

"I will bet you the majority of posters are no where as long term as you are around here. You may be long term because YOU see the potential of PTQ, while the rest of us are here either to break even and or to make a few bucks and then get the hell out. To each their own I guess. "
Maybe some of the major shareholders are getting value out of the company in a different way other than stock price appreciation.
JFF7
so PTQ's title to the concessions is flawed in some way. I wonder what it is? It could be something simple that they need from the gov't or maybe some further work they need to complete to perfect the title.
Owning PTQ shares feels more like a ticket to a soap opera than a share in a gold company. Never a dull moment. Full of twists and turns, plots and sub-plots, good guys and bad guys. PTQ has it all. Everything you could want in a soap opera. Of course I don't like watching soap operas.

Anybody own this?
Book value of around 89 cents trading at 35 cents.
Thoughts on why this is so low? I am thinking it is just because of the financing needs of the underlying junior companies. Anything else?
JFF7
yes thanks for that. Great write up. Explains a few things.
JFF7
If PTQ did not have the aggregate says to help keep the cost of production very low, what would the actual cost of production for PTQ be currently?

MMT.V
Of course you didn't lose money. Glad you set the record straight.
The closing of the Shell TNP pipeline does not impact Mart's current production or future production since that pipeline is not being used by Mart now or in the future.
Local companies (Midwestern and Sun Trust) own the concession that Mart is working. Nigeria is not confiscating developed concessions from their own local companies. The exact opposite is true as they are trying to encourage local companies to own and develop the concessions. To suggest that Mart owns 50% interest and is in danger of losing it based on unnamed news reports is wrong and misleading.
Mart will continue to work this concession based on their service agreement with the local companies. To suggest that Mart owns 50% working interest in the concession and that it is in danger is simply wrong and misleading. I am surprised you learned so little in owning Mart for two years.

Sorry you had to take a loss. Getting your facts straight helps avoid things like that.
Good luck on your other investments.

MMT.V Globetrade
This news release says the Shell pipeline in question is shipping Bonny light (as in the Bonny terminal). That conflicts with your Mart quotes which talks about shipping oil currently through AGIP to Brass River terminal and in the future through Umigini to the Forcados terminal.
Mart does not ship through the Bonny terminal now or in the future so the Shell pipeline shutdown you keep bringing up has nothing to do with Mart flow of production now or in the future.
The sooner you admit to yourself you made a mistake, the sooner you will understand what everyone is trying to tell you.
JFF7
"Not sure if MAUXF pipeline spur spills into the Shell main line"
It does not. AGIP pipeline goes to the Brass River terminal. Nothing to do with the Shell pipeline.
JFF7
MMT.V
Tim you are wrong......both times. Maybe you are not familiar with the details because you only trade MMT.
Mart ships through the AGIP pipeline to the Brass River Terminal.
Shell has nothing to do with this. The Shell pipeline that was shut down has nothing to do with this.
Yes AGIP is suffering a lot of leaks from theft like Shell. That is certainly fair comment. The other stuff...misinformation.
JFF7
MMT.V
I don't believe they use that pipeline so it is immaterial to them.
Sell-off is on fear that divy may not be safe and company not issuing guidance one way or another. It's a technical sell-off on unconfirmed worries that may or may not prove true.
JFF7
the funny thing is that PTQ is starting to get a significant part of their revenues and profits from the aggregate / construction side of the house just as POG gets ready to take another tumble (JMO). Maybe this is not such a bad thing.
JFF7
"Does someone know why this material hasn't been put on heap leach pad?"
is it possible that the resources needed to run the heap leachs are being used to meet the aggregate production demand needed for FQM?

MMT.V Wade insider filings show reduced option holdings
Rumor that the former Mrs. Wade Chernayko may have half his shares / options now and may now be dumping them. The share price could be under pressure for a while if true. Hopefully the animosity is not too great and a lump sale deal can be put together if this is true.

nice number crushing ! Thanks for the numbers and the pun.

The inherent value of the company is increasing over the last while so I am happy about that. Retained shareholder equity is improving, number of shares / warrants outstanding is declining, cost of production has been lowered (whether thru production efficiencies and / or through aggregate sales) and they are slowly advancing their other properties (building more inherent value). I have added a little over the last few months in small amounts because of this and because of the improving price of gold.
In some ways, I am glad they are capital constrained by a lower gold price right now as their capital spending plans seem to be a little too ambitious for my liking. Forced to be more cautious, maybe they will develop some discipline in capital spending (that is an opinion only based more on a feeling rather than empirical evidence). I think that feeling comes from the number of fields they have in Panama and now Spain / Portugal under development or targeted for development. I can remember getting burned by junior miners before that had a lot of properties under development and did not do well because of the multitude of individual costs and inherent difficulty of focus that is required to be successful.
It's a wait and see situation for me. There is value here, when will the market recognize it? Will management continue to improve the inherent value or will they destroy what they have built up? Hope for the best, prepare for the worse.
JFF7
all good info Bob, thanks for that.

I haven't invested in any Ausie stocks yet but would like to at some point. How has you experince with them being? Any differences worth mentioning? Expect lower P/Es? Shorter mine lifes?

I agree on the timing (lows of the share price) although i don't see the price moving up more than 10% this year because of the levels of debt they need to get to this year. Once the debt peaks and starts getting paid down because of the oil flowing at record levels, the share price will really fly. Obviously this assumes clan execution which is a significant assumption in the North Sea.
JFF7
"Come Sept-Nov, the new pipeline will be up and running. "
I don't think so. The market is telling you that the new pipeline is pushed out and the article from the Midwestern guy confirms it.
The share price will see 1.30 s at some point in the near term.
Hold on to your shares and collect the divy for the next 2-3 qtrs. Don't watch the share price unless you are looking to add more.
JFF7
Yes thanks Jal, I think I have read that guy's opinion recently. POG started to retreat today a little but it sure didn't go very far.
We may be closer than we think. The US Fed changing course may be the next trigger to accelerate the price of gold. Bennie is leaving it to the next guy so we may have until January.
Unfortunately I expect the general markets will suffer at the same time POG takes off. Maybe gold stocks get sucked down with the general market before POG powers up and pulls gold stocks with it. At least that is what I was sorta expecting. But my crystal ball is just as dirty as everyone else's so it's just a guess.
PTQ should eventually do well since it has reasonably low cash costs. Hopefully they are careful about the financial debt or commitments they make so the banksters don't take all the potential out of the company when the SHTF.
JFF7
it looks like the threat of COMEX defaulting on gold deliveries is the culprit of this latest run up. Not like to stop as people will start receiving cash instead of gold.
JFF7
yes I haven't chased any of these gold or silver plays off the bottom yet but there sure has been some money made for those buying the bottom.

move based on POG move. 80-90% chance of that being the reason.

yeah those right of ways for the last 7 km loom so large. If they can get those...it's just a matter of time probably. It's in everyone's interests to let the oil flow. Everyone just has to meet their price.

that was a bust.....any more pending settlements or suits?
just put him on ignore,,,its not like he is saying anything people don't already know
if you want it to sound better....get the facts straight....it is 184.5 million short on the Nasdaq. Add in the short interest from the TSX (13.5 milion) and you are at 198 million short overall.
Shares outstanding 524 million.
Short interest as a percentage of outstanding (198 / 524) = 37.7%
