Thank you Nelson2 for the info.
By the way the Dec 19th will be their 3rd quarter. The next one, their 4th is the key one IMO
Around Dec 19th
No idea on CEO announcement, sorry
Approximately when does the 4th quarter earning will be reported?
Any idea when the new CEO will be announced?
Thanks in advance,
2 near term catalysts IMO
When they announce new CEO
Their 4th quarter is as good as Chen had been saying
LOL thanks for the laugh!!!!
To you as well. Don’t want to use the word “tur—-“ here! LOL!
Enjoy communicating with you mate
LOL it's good to not be alone here. Good luck as well. Happy Thanksgiving in advance!
Everything I am reading says their 4th quarter (Jan - March 2024) is going to be their best with their 3rd quarter showing improvement.
If not I am done buying and will begin liquidating. I don’t mind us being the only 2 guys to see it - if we’re right. LOL
I do hope that after the next quarter, things really start to turn around. Hopefully I'll be able to scrape something to get some more shares before it finally takes off.
“The Government of Malaysia and BlackBerry Limited (NYSE: BB; TSX: BB), today announced a long-term software and services agreement to strengthen Malaysia's cybersecurity posture. The landmark deal will enable the Malaysian Government to leverage the full suite of trusted BlackBerry® cybersecurity solutions, and support the integrity of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) while upskilling the nation's workforce with advanced cybersecurity technology and training.
BB is not a hardware company anymore. Strictly software security
Can’t wait for announcement of new CEO. Former CEO John Chen has done all the heavy lifting in terms of the transformation. BB 4th quarter will be the first REAL positive report at least as far as everything I have read
Buying another 1,000 shares Monday
thank you. can anyone tell me where the value proposition is? i havent met anyone that uses blackberry and now we are into ai.
And our PPS barely moves?? Give me a break!

I hope so too.
But can’t figure out why Fairfax would accept a $6 share price in Feb as an option. Usually there would be incentive at a price less than current PPS?
Does it mean they know something we don’t
I was referencing a post that was made on Oct 2020 where it was speculated to give BB five years for it to appreciate in price at least 5-fold. So basically it's less than two years left from that initial speculation.
why 2 years left?
Less than 2 years left to go.
I am disappointed as well with this. I thought when the announcement was made about the IPO that it meant that Chen would carry this through. Now they're going to get a new CEO. I hope whoever it is can keep this ship from sinking.
Yes, I’m truly disappointed. Only good interpretation would be that he took it as far as he could and they require a different set of talent to take it the rest of the way. I can only hope with a $6 cost average
I took some solace in the fact the SP went up when his retirement was announced
Still like the man regardless
Saw this on the Reddit board: https://www.reddit.com/r/BB_Stock/comments/171g77j/do_you_need_more_clarity_from_bb/
Looks like they plan to have a separate virtual investor briefing at the Summit on October 17th to add a little more detail to the news.
Based on this I'm guessing he'll become CEO of the IOT business. It seems to be the "hotter" of the two.
There’s hope. More patience
“BlackBerry intends to IPO its IoT business—of which the majority is the QNX software for autonomous vehicles and other devices. We view QNX as best-of-breed base-level and hypervisor software for cars and other connected machines, and model midteens sales growth for the IoT business over the next 10 years. We expect the IoT business to be an attractive stand-alone investment after an IPO, especially with strong automaker relationships and a marquee agreement with Amazon for its IVY product. We think the larger and relatively worse-performing cybersecurity segment has weighed on BlackBerry’s overall valuation against a smaller but competitively stronger IoT segment.
Additionally, we think a stand-alone cybersecurity business may be an attractive buyout candidate for a larger cybersecurity rival. In our view, BlackBerry’s actual technology is better than its perception in the enterprise marketplace, and it has struggled with its go-to-market approach to mend that disconnect. BlackBerry’s security business also boasts strong government customer relationships which could add to its attractiveness in a buyout.
Yes those are good points. And how does the IPO play into this?
I don’t remember that being the case with IBM/Kendryll?
I guess we'll have to wait and see at this point. Sounds like based on this news, I'm thinking Chen will continue to stay as CEO...but will he become CEO of IOT or Cybersecurity...and will there be a new CEO covering one of the two...or will he be over both? Will see what happens.
Thanks for attaching but Don’t find that article properly addresses our concerns. My belief is that when BB splits in 2 we will have the choice of which combination or singular company we would like go forward with. But if there are not enough investors not choosing for example the cybersecurity side then I believe we will be forced to accept them. The one comparable #scenario is IBM/Kyndryll. Neither company has done particularly well since the split
I'm wondering what happens now. Still trying to make sense of it. Assuming path may be similar to when Johnson & Johnson split according to this article: https://www.wsj.com/podcasts/google-news-update/what-happens-to-my-stock-when-a-company-splits/ad3139ec-1308-45ef-984f-65e997fb0a24
Around 4 minute mark of this video, it mentions how J&J stock initially rose slightly on news of split but then went down by the following week due to uncertainty. https://www.cnbc.com/video/2022/01/10/why-johnson-johnson-is-splitting-itself-into-two-companies.html#:~:text=Why%20Johnson%20%26%20Johnson%20is%20splitting%20itself%20into%20two%20publicly%20traded,traded%20company%20by%20November%202023.
Will Chen go with IOT or Cybersecurity? Will there by a new CEO over IOT or Cybersecurity? Will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
Strategic review results by November
I can’t imagine a negative outcome. Look how the PPS held after what I would consider an overall disappointing quarterly report
Upon release of news what do you want to bet we see a jump in PPS?
Need to buy more
Still have hope. 🤞Analyst asked this of John Chen
“You expected the strategic review to conclude by the end of summer and your contract with BlackBerry is quickly approaching. Would it be possible that this review goes past November, or should we expect something in the next month or so?
John Chen -- Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
I think there is better than 50-50 chance you should expect something sooner.
One day all these success stories will have to pay off
Come off the ledge mate
Everything is going to be ok
Dude take a Valium
The price is back to where it was a month ago
Chen stated they are not changing their long term revenue projections
Buy the dip!
Do you have a lot of shorts or someone is paying you to put this bs?
