Nrdc92,
You are quickly losing any credibility with statements like this:
"Insufficient Industry Gravitas"
You do understand that Michael Lebby is about to take the lead - become Chair - of the Optical Society of America, recently renamed Optica?!?
That means he was voted in, vetted in, chosen by his peers!!!
If you want a list, go look at the company present at the recent PECC2023 Summit at Palo Alto Juniper Headquarters...
You are smarter than this caliber of comments...

Good day to all,
Has anyone seen the GF's Anthony Yu YouTube video from OFC2023? I's recommend watching it. What caught my eye in the first minute of the video, is when A.Y. describes the first samples presented at OFC that come from the GF Fotonix platform...
The first two samples he points at, made by Ayar Labs and Ranovus, using the Fotonix PDKs, are based seemingly on ring resonators - we already have a connection linking LWLG to Ayar Labs Ring Resonnators-. Then he points to the 3rd, made by NVidia, and points out that that one is based on a Mach-Zender design... He mentions 800G.
This sure would lead to Ubiquity in my book! Enjoy... Below the transcripts:
"hi everybody this is Anthony you from Global foundries we're here at ofc opening day here at the exhibit floor really excited to be here this year if you remember last year we announced the availability of our GF photonics platform we announced our our first pdk on a qualified process we're here A year later and in our booth we're actually showing physical samples ready to be productized with our key Partners such as AyarLabs such as Ranovus and such as Nvidia the difference between these these three parts here is that all three, um, all three of these partners are actually using our pdk standard pdk but they're actually innovating using their own design techniques we have a couple of Partners here using micro-ring resonators we have another partner pushing this this thing with our Mach Zender modulators but all three of them are using the standard pdk taking advantage of the 300 millimeter CMOS founding processes process control and automated testing but also innovating to meet the growing market for artificial intelligence machine learning as well as 800 gig pluggable transceivers so I think one year later uh reality is coming and showing that that uh photonics Foundry with a powerful platform here can actually move the industry forward looking forward to a great week thank you very much "

Hi Marco,
To qualify the point made by Spartex, that the license could be used by intermediaries who then resell to more well known names in the industry, I would like to refer to Slide 35 of the last ASM (and previous ASMs), which clearly identifies 4 categories of users of our materials:
1) Optical components suppliers / Foundries = Imec, Macom, NXP, Samsung, Tower...
2) High-speed Optics manufacturers: OEMs, CMs, OSATs, = SP Source, II-VI, Intel, Lumentum, Sumitomo...
3) Optical Networking equipment suppliers: OEMs, CMs, OSATs = Nokia, Arista, NVidia, Cisco, Ciena...
4) Internet Service Providers (ISPs) = Amazon, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Verizon, AT&T...
I think what Dr. Lebby was pointing out in his remarks today, is that we can enter the market at any of the above stages, which absolutely means that our polymers can be licensed to someone in the industry who uses them in sub-components, and down the line, those sub-components can be used by anyone else up the food chain, either directly in final products (white boxes from the ISPs), or in other Optical Sub Assemblies (OSATs)...
Our polymer, being compatible with foundry processes, can enter the food chain at any point either through licensing agreements, and/or tech transfers and/or direct sales!
The technical flexibility shown by Lightwave Logic, through the power of it's IP portfolio, is really a multiplier of business opportunities!
And I cannot wait to see it being signed into contracts and scaled-up through 2023-2024 and beyond! UBIQUITOUS !!!

Adagium,
Thank you for reposting this LWLG patent, and, as a very long term investor in this company , I particularly appreciate the context of posting it with this Nature.com article that speaks of all the potential future uses of EO polymers.
Traders will be oblivious to the meaning of your post, but some of the new investors will seize the importance of the words you chose to highlight, and specifically my all-time favorites: "all optical switching".
A few of us have been here long enough to have already been exposed to the meaning of this, but say it again one more time to let it sink in: "All optical switching"!!!
These three words are the gate not just to the hundred billions markets we have all been speaking about, with the immediate market opportunities laying right in front of LWLG in optical transport in the 2-10km range, or up to 100km..., no, these three words are the gate to all optical computing and the real reason why CMOS foundries are interested in working with silicon photonics today, as the next step in their evolution, their only hope to keep being relevant for decades to come!
All optical switching is the key to the future.
Back in the seventies, Intel brought about a revolution that few understood then. Today we have the benefit of hindsight to understand everything related to computers and the internet was really just a natural consequence of that invention back then: the electronic switch.
With that perspective in mind, it makes it much easier to understand the true meaning of the three words you chose to highlight: all optical switching.
And Lightwave Logic holds the key to that next step in evolution.
How blessed are we to be here and be given the chance to understand the potential that lays in front of us!
This is one of the main reason why I feel so confident in staying positioned right where I am, a long term LWLG investor. The future is bright.
Adagium, Thank you again for your post.
In the words of Khaled: Hold the line! There is a lot more to come...

Has anyone already posted this July 2023 Lightcounting report anywhere ( Note that this is the same source as the one LWLG used at the ASM to define their TAM/SAM/SOM)?
Despite overall optical transceivers cutbacks in 2023, high-end (>400G) ones, targeting AI clusters, are on the rise... Nice environment for the launch of LWLG 800G and 1.6T transceivers for Datacom... The TAM data provided at the ASM is already behind the curve, merely two months later... Wow, just Wow... 2024 and 2025 might just be mindblowing!?! Hold on tightly to your shares...
Quotes:
"What is also elevating the market share of AI is a reduction in investment in compute clusters and the optics supporting them. The timing of ChatGTP making headlines at the end of 2022 could not have been better. Fears of an upcoming economic recession and the first signs of lower growth in revenues forced all the leading Cloud companies to cut spending, including investments into datacenters and purchases of optical transceivers. Meta reduced its forecast for deployments of 200G FR4 optics in 2023 by more than 50%. In its latest financial report, the company announced another 10% reduction in capex for this year. Despite this, it plans to grow its spending in AI clusters and 400G FR4 optical transceivers supporting it. (…) Sales of the latest systems based on NDR (400G) InfiniBand are just starting to ramp now. These will use mostly pluggable 400G SR4 Ethernet transceivers instead of AOCs for InfiniBand connections and 800G SR8 transceivers for the NVLink network. Once deployments of the new systems become comparable to current volumes of HDR-based systems, they will need 2 million 400G SR4 transceivers (each AOC is equivalent to two transceivers) and 6 million 800G SR8 modules, assuming that NVLink networks needs 6x more bandwidth than InfiniBand. Please keep it mind that this will not happen this year, but it is likely to happen in 2024 or 2025." https://www.lightcounting.com/newsletter/july-2023-mega-data-center-optics-204

Proto,
Not only more than half the names you posted below meet at OIF to setup the next round of Co-packaged standards, but may I remind you that they also are part of that Global Foundry-driven ecosystem named Fotonix, which uses a 300mm 300GHz-class RF-CMOS silicon wafer enabling the "highest level of integration on a PIC (...) for faster, more efficient transmission of Data, with better (10,000X better) system error rate".
And as you clearly point out, in the interview, Dr Lebby is quoted as saying:
"... If the co-packaged optical module that gets really close to the electrical switch chip is small enough that it could fit into a pluggable form factor, as well, whoever makes those modules gets a double win.”
Will 30X smaller than a TFLN-based modulator fit the bill ?!?
I very much think so!
And since the March of 2022 Fotonix announcement, we know that products releases will be announced 2H2023 for a 2024 ramp up. Remind me again who is using the same timeframe since their May 2022 Shareholders Meeting??
Oh yeah, Long and Strong! Stronger than ever! And for a very Long time! "Decades to come"??

I agree Mc Fish, And I'll apply this to the markets in general as well:
Today's Nasdaq: +1.8%
Today's LWLG +7% (without any sort of announcement!!!)
And we know that Powell predicted "only" one or two more 0.25pts rate hikes... then the market are off to the races, just in time for when LWLG announced an increased pace of new releases...
So if the markets put in a 10% increase by year end, while LWLG announces changing from a pre-revenue to a commercialization stage company at the same time, watch-out below for the shorts!!... 20M shares will have to be purchased in a red hot environment!
I am very much looking forward to the next 9 months and beyond!

This project was declared the 2nd largest rare-earth mineral reserve in the US - just with the reserves included in the present feasibility study- behind California's Mountain Pass ($MP), that currently trades at an ~$6B valuation, even though they have to send their ore to China for processing, when $NB will have the processing on site, in the US - once again thoroughly permitted!!! Management went through much efforts to have the project reviewed and qualified by ESG-conscious Equator Principles.
It is not farfetched to predict that the valuation will quickly approach or overpass that of $MP, once metals start selling after the 3.5 year expected construction.
Will you be willing to wait a short few years for your next 10 bagger?!?

Boilermaker1, if I may, on the other side of your objection, I see a large positive to help shorten the time frame: while I agree strongly with you that they will need the final FS2023 to make their final decision, I also think we are very lucky that this will not be the first version of the feasibility study... And like Lard said, it is my belief that EXIM has been able to advance their review of the project, largely based on the previous versions (2019FS, 2022FS). As a summary, I hope we are looking at closer to 6 months than 9 months, but in the end, I am just happy the projects moves on.

From the release yesterday:
"...strengthen foundry PDK design capabilities with extremely low temperature ALD Processes, is a part of our ability to advance initial production trials with our foundry partners and secure our first licensing agreements in the near-term."
Funny, but it sounds to me like they are not on the same time scale as you seem to be GP...
Production trials sounds like a lot of the testing has already gone right and when successful, the only next step is live network qualification?!? So, given the speed at which we went from "looking forward to work with foundry partners" (around May 2021) to "production trials", it definitely feels like 2024 scale-up is on track!
And I am not highlighting "licensing agreements" (plural) in the "near-term"!!

In their current implementation, they are used at both end of the fiber optic cable to transform electronic signals into optic ones at the entrance of the fiber, and back from optical to electronic at the other end of the fiber.
Within a chip, the polymers can be shaped into waveguides to carry an optic signal on chip, with specific polymer made devices like splitters, gratting couplers etc... (see presentation for pictures of devices made in partner foundries).
