10/4 agreed. Meanwhile the turd swirls. "Stocks Finally Wake Up to Higher Inflation. It Isn't Pretty".
"The ugly reality of inflation has begun to raise its head.
As we have noted previously, inflation is WELL above the Fed’s so-called target of 2%. Indeed, two of the Fed’s own in-house measures of inflation (the NY Fed UIG and Atlanta Fed Sticky Inflation measures) are clocking in at 3.14% and 2.5%, respectively.
That, in of itself, is a REAL problem for the debt-based financial system. Since 2008, the US has added over $9 trillion in public debt along with another $3 trillion in corporate debt, and $1.2 trillion in consumer debt.
ALL OF THIS was based on the assumption that interest rates would stay low.
So much for that. The yield on the 10-Year US Treasury has now spiked to 3%, breaking a 10-year downtrend.
Put simply, for a world that is TOTALLY saturated in debt like the US today, that blue box in the chart below is a MAJOR problem".

It's a whole bunch of things all piled up together, that are going to affect our economy.
This is the kind of stuff I like to see, China has been kicking our butts in this sector. Invest in our country in emerging sectors, create jobs. Thank you Mr.Perry, Secretary Zinke.

Infrastructure Series: Momentum Builds For Offshore Wind Energy Development In The United States.
"The first quarter of 2018 left little doubt that the momentum for establishing a US offshore wind industry is only increasing. In his speech to the International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum, Secretary Zinke stressed what he views as a unique growth potential for the industry. The combination of federal and state policy support, coupled with the Trump Administration's commitment to streamlining federal permitting, presents an important opportunity for offshore wind developers".

How the Tax Bill Backfired on the Republicans
ROBERT KUTTNER APRIL 24, 2018
And why the new tax law will be an election winner for Democrats
"Republicans are supposed to be for economic efficiency. But this tax bill creates incentives for economically perverse activity such as stock buybacks and sheer gimmicks such as “pass through” entities where the point is not to improve the economy, merely to give the wealthy a tax break.
Trump promised to Make America Great Again. This law promotes more offshoring.
The law is such a political loser for Republicans, and the hypocrisy is so ripe, that one has to believe that Republicans sensed that this Congressional term was their last chance for a long while to grab whatever they could. They made few concessions to political realism. Republicans can expect a long period in the political wilderness, and this law will help bring that about.
The ancient Greeks held that character is fate. The tax act speaks volumes about the character of today’s Republican Party, and it will help seal the Party’s fate in coming elections".

[Audio] Trumping Hate - https://www.revealnews.org/episodes/trumping-hate/
By Will Carless / April 19, 2018
Editor’s note: To provide a full picture of what hate speech victims experienced, we "Have Not" edited out offensive language.
It was the day after the 2016 presidential election. Melissa Johnson was walking out of a Trader Joe’s in the heart of San Diego when a shiny BMW pulled up alongside her. The driver was a man in his late 30s. Dark hair. Green eyes. Her first thought: He’s kind of hot.
The car slowed down. Then the man shouted at her through the open window.
“Fuck you, nigger, go back to Africa. The slave ship is loading up,” he said. Then he added an exclamation point: “Trump!”
As the man drove away, Johnson, looked around at the shoppers who had witnessed the attack. She was the only African American in the parking lot. Not one person met her eye. Nobody said anything. So the 37-year-old walked, stunned, to her car, where she sat and wept.

Nearly every metric of intolerance in the U.S. has surged over the past 18 months, from reported anti-Semitism and Islamophobia to violent hate crimes based on skin color, nationality or sexual orientation.
This renaissance of hate features something new: xenophobic, racist and homophobic attacks punctuated with President Donald Trump’s name. To understand the scope of the phenomenon, Reveal from The Center for Investigative Reporting identified more than 150 reports of Trump-themed taunts and attacks stretching across 39 states over the past year and a half.
Interviews with the targets of and witnesses to these incidents showed a striking pattern. The abusers had a clear message: Trump’s going to take care of a problem – and that problem is you.
This pattern extended across races, religions and sexual orientation. Two days after the presidential election, a gay man in Michigan heard a taunt from a group of men: “Trump is going to get rid of people like you.” A week later, a Jewish woman in Austin, Texas, said she heard exactly the same threat from a middle-aged white man as she lined up to buy groceries. Two months later, a Latino man in California said he was told by a white ex-girlfriend that Trump was going “get rid of the Hispanics.” By March, a black woman in Houston reported that she was told by a white man that Trump was going to “get rid of all you niggers.”
Immediately after the election, there was a surge in Trump-related taunts. But all last year and into this year, the threats kept coming: An Asian American woman in Hollywood, California, had her hair pulled by an older white woman and was told that she had to “go back to China” now that Trump is president. In the Washington, D.C., area, the Trump-tainted threats got so frequent and so bad that Mohammad Qureshi, a Muslim American man who works at the Dulles Airport Marriott, changed his name tag to John.

How the Klan Act of 1871 is fighting voter intimidation today
By Billy CorriherApril 19, 2018
"Four Virginia voters filed a lawsuit last week charging a discredited "voter fraud" activist with violating two key federal civil rights laws that prohibit voter intimidation.
One is the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965. The other is the less well-known Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, part of a series of laws passed during the post-Civil War Reconstruction to protect the rights of newly emancipated black citizens. Requested by President Ulysses Grant to help him crack down on the white-supremacist terrorist group, the law says that "if two or more persons conspire" to prevent someone from voting "by force, intimidation, or threat," then the victim of voter intimidation can sue the conspirators. Civil rights advocates have recently turned to the KKK Act as bogus claims of voter fraud and public displays of white supremacy have become more prominent.
The defendants in the Virginia case — the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) and its president, J. Christian Adams — published two reports before the 2016 and 2017 elections claiming that thousands of non-citizens had voted in Virginia and listing their names and contact information. In the reports and in interviews with the conservative Breitbart News, Adams accused those named of committing felony voter fraud. Adams worked in the U.S. Department of Justice from 2005 to 2010,when he quit in protest over its decision to drop voter intimidation charges against the New Black Panther Party in Philadelphia.
In the lawsuit, the voters point out that Adams persisted in his accusations — even after media reports and state elections officials pointed out that his methodology was flawed and had led to erroneous accusations. Adams based his reports on lists of voters whom election officials had removed from the rolls, though he was repeatedly warned that voters could be removed for a variety of reasons, including paperwork errors.
Virginia voter Luciana Freeman, for example, was removed because of an error on a form from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Freeman is African-American and a U.S. citizen born in North Carolina. Another plaintiff, Eliud Bonilla, is a U.S.-born citizen of Puerto Rican descent. The plaintiffs told the court that Bonilla, who considered running for public office, fears that Adams' accusations would "subject him to 'birther' conspiracies like the ones that plagued President Barack Obama." Though some of the names in the report were removed after errors were pointed out, Bonilla and Freeman remain on the list of alleged non-citizen voters.
The plaintiffs said that Adams' voter fraud reports are "the kind of insidious modern technique of voter intimidation that civil rights laws are intended to eradicate."
Despite the serious problems with Adams' work, President Donald Trump appointed him to his controversial Advisory Commission on Election Integrity, which disbanded after facing at least eight lawsuits accusing it of ignoring federal laws. Adams submitted his voter fraud reports to the commission.?
The Virginia lawsuit was also filed by the League of United Latin American Citizens, the largest and oldest Hispanic membership organization in the U.S. The plaintiffs are represented by the North Carolina-based Southern Coalition for Social Justice (SCSJ) and Protect Democracy, a national nonprofit that works to prevent authoritarianism.
The plaintiffs are also suing Adams and PILF for defamation. In Virginia and most other states, falsely accusing someone of committing a crime — or "felonies on top of felonies," in this case — is considered a textbook case of defamation. A group of North Carolina voters, also represented by SCSJ, are suing lawyers who worked for the campaign of former N.C. Gov. Pat McCrory for the same reason. During the 2016 election recount that McCrory ultimately lost, Republicans across the state filed charges of voter fraud against 53 people with their local election boards. All of the charges were dismissed".

Trump is erasing racial diversity from the South's federal courts
"This week the White House announced 19 new judicial nominees, and — like President Trump's previous nominees — the overwhelming majority are white. Of the over 100 attorneys he's nominated to federal judgeships to date, around 92 percent are white, with only a handful of African Americans and Latinos. Trump's record on judicial diversity is the worst since President Reagan.
Trump's regression on judicial diversity could take decades to reverse. He is nominating judges at a much faster pace than President Obama, and — despite the glaring lack of diversity — the Senate is rapidly confirming them to seats it refused to fill in 2016 and 2017. Trump's nominees are also relatively young, which means these white judges will preside over an increasingly diverse population for decades to come".

Oh'my bad. A couple good'ole boys come in off the street after pounding a couple six packs of Budweiser and start cussing out a black waitress and the management is automatically going to call the cops on them, and they are totally going to throw them to the floor and hook'em and book'em.
Yeah, I'm sure that's how that would play out.
Who's perfect? Certainly not me, but part of correcting a problem, is admitting that a problem actually exists.
If you can't do that, then I guess running away from it is always an option.
This has to be said and noticed regarding Alabama and the "Waffle house".
Ten years ago I was in a waffle house in Alabama on a Sunday morning having breakfast all by myself in a full booth. The restaurant was practically empty. A black family of {six} came in and ordered breakfast all dressed up for Sunday church.
They paid for it, and then something very curious happened, they just stood there waiting for it.
Five minutes or so latter, it was served to them all in to-go containers and they then went out to their car and ate it in the parking lot.
I thought {being from up north} that, that was some tripped off the line shit right there.
And then there is this in a Alabama "Waffle House" involving a black lady not wanting to pay extra for plastic utensils in her to-go container.
Anybody think that this is some tripped off the line bullshit that you're only going to find in Alabama?
Or is this just normal maintenance for a southern community?
A woman was tackled by officers at an Alabama Waffle House. Police are defending the arrest.

Rutro, wtf? The DNC Just Sued the Trump Campaign and Russia for Collusion
The lawsuit says Moscow, the Trump team, and WikiLeaks conspired to interfere in the 2016 campaign.
The Democratic National Committee on Friday sued the Trump campaign, the Russian government, WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, Roger Stone, Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, George Papadopoulos and Russian oligarch Aras Agalarov, his son Emin and others, alleging they conspired to disrupt the 2016 election.
The lawsuit charges that after Russian intelligence agents hacked into the DNC’s computers, the Trump campaign became “a willing and active partner.” In essence, the Democrats say that there is already enough public information to conclude that the Trump campaign and Russia conspired to use hacked emails to help defeat Hillary Clinton.
The suit, filed in federal court in New York, charges that the Trump campaign solicited Russia’s aid “and maintained secret communications with individuals tied to the Russian government.” The campaign and top Trump advisers “formed an agreement” with Russian agents to promote Trump’s candidacy, the Democrats say.
As Russia used WikiLeaks to strategically release stolen information, “Trump openly praised the illegal disseminations and encouraged Russia to continue its violations of US law through its ongoing hacking campaign against the Democratic party,” the complaint says.
The suit says the Trump campaign’s conduct was “an act of previously unimaginable treachery: The campaign of the presidential nominee of a major party in league with a hostile foreign power to bolster its own chance to win the presidency.”
The DNC says the hacking required Democrats to spend more than $1 million on repairs and cybersecurity fixes. The party says it suffered “a dramatic drop in donations” and diminished job performance from employees, who faced death threats and other harassment after their personal information was exposed.
“I hope all your children get raped and murdered,” one message to a DNC employee said. “I hope your family knows nothing but suffering, torture and death.”
The suit seeks damages, an injunction preventing the defendants from future election-related hacking and distribution of stolen information, and a declaration from the court that the defendants “conspired to and did engage in a common scheme to hack Democratic computers, use “stolen information to impact the 2016 election for their own gain.”

The Danger of Unrealistic Goals for North Korea Diplomacy
Anton Watman/Shutterstock
"The U.S. and Japan released a joint statemtent calling on North Korea to give up not only its nuclear weapons, but also to abandon all “weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs.” TAC contributor Harry Kazianis responded to the statement earlier today:
"#NorthKorea needs to abandon all weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs." -U.S.-Japan Summit readout. There is no way Kim agrees to that, unless #China somehow gurantees its security and gives massive amounts of economic aid. This is going to end badly".
"As the inter-Korean summit approaches and the Trump-Kim meeting draws closer, the gap between the U.S. and North Korean positions does not appear to have narrowed at all. If anything, the demands from the U.S. and Japan have increased and become even more unrealistic than they already were. Instead of moderating demands and tempering expectations about what North Korea is willing to give up, the Trump administration and the Abe government are doing just the opposite. This may succeed in reassuring Japan that the U.S. isn’t going to make a deal that Tokyo can’t accept, but it practically guarantees that no agreement can be reached with North Korea.
If Trump goes to the summit thinking that North Korea is going to agree to any of this, he has been misled and will be setting himself up for failure. If the U.S. and its allies aren’t prepared to make an extraordinarily generous offer in return, it is likely that nothing good will come from the meeting between Trump and Kim. The danger is that the hard-liners around Trump will exploit a summit failure as an excuse to ratchet up tensions and push for military action and he will be more inclined to listen to them".

Good question. It's 50/50, yes I-Hub performs a lot of the things social media does IE: News, a media platform, but curtailed only to stocks in general and market related news hits.
Therefore I-Hub is a segregated community where they do offer free limited memberships with a large portion of them being paid members, making it a premium paid for site, for the most part.
Could I-Hub sell your personal data. Ahummm...I don't think so.
Could advertisers on site register how many hits they get on an ad, probably. Could they directly attach a member to specifically clicking on an ad and profile a member because of that.
I suppose that's entirely possible and plausible, but one would have to refer to the terms and conditions that we all agreed to when we registered on the site. I didn't include an E-Mail and still don't.

Gaza: The Lesser Child of Israel’s Occupation
By Gideon Levy
Mr. Levy, an Israeli journalist, has been covering Israel and Palestine for 30 years.
"But the fate of these almost two million human beings forced to live in a vast cage — most of them youngsters with no past, no present and no future — mainly because of Israel’s inhuman policies, doesn’t seem to touch the country’s conscience. Israelis live in denial; they barely even talk about Gaza. Much of the local media, betraying its mission, hardly covers life there: No matter what, Gaza is simply characterized as a hive of terrorism and a constant threat to our security. “Go to Gaza!” is a common Hebrew curse.
After the failure of the Camp David summit meeting of July 2000 and then the Second Intifada, in 2000-05, many Israelis lost both hope in peace and interest in the Palestinian tragedy. Israel has turned right, and nationalistic, even racist. Yet the truth is that Gaza is a disaster zone, and one of Zionism’s greatest victims".

It's 50/50, the actual 'intent' behind the motivation, I can wholeheartedly agree with. The actual MM signals themselves might be a long shot, but you never know.
Why signals? Why not just message or email?
One simple reason... calling/emailing one or more of the other market makers and telling them to "take the price down" or "I am going to gap the stock" would be 100% ILLEGAL. Collusion at it's finest. If caught, handcuffs could replace their Rolex for a trip downtown.
We've worked on OTC/Agency (Nasdaq and OTC-BB) desks and worked with many actual market makers. We can attest that many market makers will use certain signals. Some will use fake bids/offers to trick individual investors and day traders. They are still responsible for those bids/offers and would have to buy or sell there if their bid or offer is hit, but they post those to make others think they have an order and do not really want to buy or sell there.
When 100 Actually Means 25,000
When watching larger stocks, market makers from large firms will often bid for 100 shares when they actually want several thousand shares.
Personally, I have worked on the Nasdaq Market Maker desk of a major firm and while the folks I worked with did not use any signs like the ones above, they did know what certain other MMs were about to do by watching them move their bids and asks. One example - When I first started and was sitting with one of the MMs, he said "See that? He dropped his ask and shows 1000 shares. He's a buyer." Say what? -- It wasn't even a minute later that the bids dropped lower after his 1000 share ask. As soon as the bids all dropped away, the asks from other MMs and internet brokers all fell below his. He then bought thousands of shares about $0.25 lower than where the bid was before his fake ask - on a $7 stock. These things happened ALL of the time. That market-maker then gave the shares to a broker for his client that placed the order $0.25 higher than he just paid, keeping the difference for himself.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Market Makers are in the game to make money as well as execute orders for their firm's clients.
If you do see a huge bid or ask - thousands of shares where it's not usual it's often a fake. That is, they really don't want to execute that trade but are actually trying to scare others and to move the stock the opposite way that their bid or ask would indicate. If the stock happens to trade closer and closer to that larger bid or ask, it will usually disappear. Smaller stocks and penny stocks are rife with that type of dishonest manipulation on OTC markets.
Market makers will almost never show their hand to let others know what order they are working. For instance, let's say a market maker for at a major firm receives an order to purchase 25,000 shares of a stock at a $5.00 limit for an institutional client. He will never bid for the full 25,000. He will place a 100 or 200 share bid at $5.00 or lower. Why? If the market maker places all 25,000 shares at the bid at $5.00, another market maker with shares to sell could "hit" that bid and sell him everything at $5.00. The trade is over; the bidding market maker has just bought all 25,000 at $5.00. However, using smaller bids and some patience will usually mean he can get shares a bit cheaper. With a 25,000 order, a difference of just a few cents can result in thousands of dollars.
The market maker with the bid will put up only 100-200 to see if any fish bite. If they do, he'll remember who sold him those and move his bid down to $4.95, $4.90, etc. and see if he can get more there. If he does, great, he'll keep working the price down as far as he can go to get the shares as cheaply as possible.
Perhaps he now has 25,000 shares with an average price of $4.80. Now that the market maker has 25,000 shares, he can then sell them to his customer at $4.90. At $4.90, the customer is happy because he would have paid up to $5.00 and the market maker is happy because he sold the shares to the client $0.10 higher than it cost him and he made a tidy profit of $2,500.
Market makers will almost never post a bid or ask for more than just a few hundred shares no matter how large their true need is. So if you do see a market maker from a large firm posting a bid for 500 shares, there's usually thousands of shares behind that. Unless he's selling signals and not selling just stock.

Supply and demand rule the day, which is why I suspect that the majority of the shares traded in January when we had those high totals were all Cross Trades or Wash Trades robbing peter to pay paul. The MM's still made money on the deal by buying on the bid and selling them on the ask, Market Makers always make money.

Crosstrade, Washtrades, Matching orders whichever you want to call it, are how a Market Makers can cut a transfer agent out of the deal and just trade shares from one hand to another, without having to pay anything to the company coffers.
Which in the case of ASFX is a honey pot, because they are closing out a five year Chapter 7, which they didn't want to disqualify for by making too much money.
They didn't want shares going out of the company coffers making them accountable money which the creditors could use against them to bump the Chapter 7 up to a chapter 13.
Anyone see how that would be a honey hole for the market makers???
Here's the rub, when you get shareholders that are perfectly content to "Hold" company shares in their accounts long term, it's throws off the MM's strategy to rollover some cash.
I "Think" and it's my "Summation" that this is the case involving this security.
So, that's the long answer to hold onto shares, and lock them up into a GTC order [for as long as you can] for a high PPS.
My thoughts are that the float after five long years of shenanigans, is [or is pretty dam close to being locked up.]
I know, {as well as anyone else that has been observing this stock} for any time at all, has seen what any small amount of buying does to the ask, it get's bumped up fast.
So, any amount of substantial buying that comes into this security is going to make it go gang buster.
Haaa I wit cha, Let's do this thing!
ASFX
Yep, it's time is coming. Those that are holding will be rewarded here shortly.Imo-
Your right the three month period for the court / Judge to close the case file on the written request from Marc P. Barmat, Trustee or another Trustee is coming up @ the end of this month I think.
Yep, I am a Vet, although I was never in any wars or anything.

Yes you did totffe, and yes it was an interesting read, and I totally agree with you about the lawyers...lol
There's no gap between the bid and the ask for the 1st time in quite a while. Of course if someone hits either one that won't last..lol
OK, thxs but this has absolutely nothing to do with this stock because we are just now exiting out of chapter 7, and all the notes to my understanding are taken care of, right?
Also, this whole right up is just a sales pitch by this lawyer so therefore it's spam site wide.
"BUT WAIT! There is a solution that makes sense that is legal and puts both the issuer and the lender on better footing. The plan for a new class of convertible preferred equity designed solely to allow the convertible note holder to actually use the booked liability to really “invest”, short term, into the company. My group has been using this method of debt remediation rather successfully with no issues other than some lender pushback. Now with APLINE’s Friday the 13th massacre, I think that will change as well. The lender eventually gets what it wants out of the deal; the issuer gets the liabilities removed from its balance sheet allowing them to go out and raise more traditional capital; the pressure on the stock is alleviated, no more lawsuits, no more angst, its really a win-win for both sides. Less booked liabilities, more capital is available improving the company’s financial outlook, and in 6 or 12 months, the former lender, and now shareholder, can convert into common with no clearing issues".

GOP SENATOR SAYS TRUMP VOWS TO PROTECT MARIJUANA INDUSTRY
DENVER (AP) — A Republican senator on Friday said that President Trump has promised to support legislation protecting the marijuana industry in states that have legalized the drug, removing a threat placed by the president’s own attorney general just three months ago.

China Has A Trade Deficit! #SAD
"Well, China reported a surprise trade deficit of $4.98 billion for March overnight, the first since February 2017. That’s against forecasts for a surplus of $27.5 billion. Exports fell 2.7% y/y, while imports rose 14.4%.
I guess it’s time for Xi to make some red trucker hats – #Make China Great Again!
There’s obviously some seasonality here, but this is still notable – especially in light of trade tensions and questions about the viability of the “synchronous global growth” narrative:
"The timing of the Chinese New Year is being blamed for some of this as are “volatile” imports". Here’s Bloomberg’s Tom Orlik:
YW Larry!*China Trade: Donald Trump Stares, Xi Jinping Blinks
"Xi’s new soft line means Trump’s rough trade tactics may be working".
"That former American notion was a mistake, “a great fantasy which has done tremendous damage to our country,” as Arthur Waldron, the University of Pennsylvania historian, told radio host John Batchelor at the end of last month. “This I would say in all of American history, this is the greatest foreign policy failure.”
Not everyone at this moment would agree with Waldron, but in time they will. In any event, last month veteran American journalist John Pomfret perfectly captured the mood of the times with this title in the Washington Post: “They May Ask in Beijing, ‘Who Lost America?’”
China has indeed lost the support of the world’s most powerful society. Although there is sharp disagreement on tactics, now virtually every American agrees something has to be done about malicious Chinese trade policy. As Douglas Irwin of Dartmouth College told the Wall Street Journal, “No one is saying we shouldn’t do anything.”
So something will be done. And Xi Jinping will increasingly dislike what willful American presidents—the current one and successors—will do".

Trump weighs rejoining Trans-Pacific Partnership amid trade dispute with China.

"President Trump ordered top administration officials Thursday to look at rejoining the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a major shift on the sprawling multination trade pact he rejected just days after taking office.
Rejoining the pact would come as Trump escalates a trade conflict with China. The Pacific Rim trade deal was intended to counter China’s influence, but Trump criticized the pact as a candidate and pulled the United States out of it in one of his earliest moves as president.
Trump gave the new orders to U.S. Trade Representative Robert E. Lighthizer and National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow during a White House meeting with lawmakers and governors, according to several GOP senators in attendance".

Fantastic!!! Flip it, Rip it, Zip it, just rejoin the TPP, if you really want to set China's pants on fire.
Glad to hear it, and if you want to continue with the trade tariffs, go for it, gang buster. China has needed to be "Bitch Slapped" for a very long time now. Glad to hear you are stepping up to the plate with the balls to do it Mr. President.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder
"Individuals with this disorder exhibit a lack of ability to empathize with others and an inflated sense of self-importance".
Definition
The hallmarks of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) are grandiosity, a lack of empathy for other people, and a need for admiration. People with this condition are frequently described as arrogant, self-centered, manipulative, and demanding. They may also concentrate on grandiose fantasies (e.g. their own success, beauty, brilliance) and may be convinced that they deserve special treatment. These characteristics typically begin in early adulthood and must be consistently evident in multiple contexts, such as at work and in relationships.
People with narcissistic personality disorder believe they are superior or special, and often try to associate with other people they believe are unique or gifted in some way. This association enhances their self-esteem, which is typically quite fragile underneath the surface. Individuals with NPD seek excessive admiration and attention in order to know that others think highly of them. Individuals with narcissistic personality disorder have difficulty tolerating criticism or defeat, and may be left feeling humiliated or empty when they experience an "injury" in the form of criticism or rejection.
Symptoms
Narcissistic personality disorder is indicated by five or more of the following symptoms:
>Exaggerates own importance
>Is preoccupied with fantasies of success, power, beauty, intelligence or ideal romance
>Believes he or she is special and can only be understood by other special people or institutions
>Requires constant attention and admiration from others
>Has unreasonable expectations of favorable treatment
>Takes advantage of others to reach his or her own goals
>Disregards the feelings of others, lacks empathy
>Is often envious of others or believes other people are envious of him or her
>Shows arrogant behaviors and attitudes
"50 to 75 percent of the people diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder are male. Additionally, it is common for many adolescents to display the characteristics listed above; this does not indicate that they will later develop narcissistic personality disorder".
Causes
Causes of narcissistic personality disorder are not yet well-understood. Genetic and biological factors as well as environment and early life experiences are all thought to play a role in the development of this condition.
Treatments
Treatment for narcissistic personality disorder can be challenging because people with this condition present with a great deal of grandiosity and defensiveness, which makes it difficult for them to acknowledge problems and vulnerabilities. Individual and group psychotherapy may be useful in helping people with narcissistic personality disorder relate to others in a healthier and more compassionate way. Mentalization-based therapy, transference-focused psychotherapy, and schema-focused psychotherapy have all been suggested as effective ways of treating narcissistic personality disorder.
