CoolPa, mlf: Ditto! Always someone out there looking to make a big something out of nothing at all. Go George Bush! Go Charlton Heston! Soylent Green is People!
Trainz
mlf:
First of all, Wolf has been in the position for less than two weeks. It took Balak almost 5 years to get us to the dismal point that we're presently in. So, to expect instantaneous, rapid-fire results seems rather far reaching.
Second, he probably DOES consider some here and elsewhere as morons. Don't we all?
Third, the gartner and Key deals might have been orchestrated by him, but the HMFIC (Balak) had HIS fingers in there too. And, we all know what generally happened to deals with his signature attached.
We are, unfortunately, in the waiting mode once again. This time, however, the man in charge is, I'm sure, aware of the urgency of the situation and has the guts and decorum to pull it off.
People here used to praise the very ground that Balak walked on. "Good going, LB." or "Thanks, LB." or "LB is a great man." If Wolf was given even a modicum of that sentiment, it would probably make his job a lot easier to take.
Please don't think I'm aiming this all at you, mlf. I just get to rambling. But it most certainly IS aimed at anyone who isn't man enough to see and understand that the man needs room to work here. Balak, IMO, richly deserved every bit of criticism that he received. Wolf, on the other hand, "has yet begun to fight."
Trainz
plantman: Dam! THAT was funny! eom
Trainz
TD:
Wolf is, unless I'm mistaken, Pres. and CEO of his own company. Who knows? Perhaps he will take the reins on a permanent basis. Time will tell. What is the real reason Balak stepped down? Let me see now......Maybe the fact that he could never quite get that "next week" deal closed? Lots of reasons, most of which I've "IMO'd" on the other board for years. If it weren't for Wolf and his efforts in our behalf, I don't think this company would exist today (IMO again). Of course, what we THINK we know about the company would fill a tractor trailer. What we actually DO know about the company would fill a very small jar. I suspect that Wolf's involvement will result in the jar becoming larger over the weeks and months ahead. It's a cinch it can't get any smaller!
Trainz
Seems to me that until such time as we actually find ourselves in the business of touch and feel batteries, even relevance isn't relevant. That make sense to anyone but me?
Trainz
Good post, bigbatman. The main thing that struck me regarding the post was the fact that, at one point, I believe we were actively pursuing some kind of partnership with HQ ourselves. Too bad they chose to go elsewhere for their alliance. Wish to hell Wolf had been swinging deals at that time!
Trainz
Thanks, Logman. If Preamp ever gets a crack at an intruder with his 44, he'll see how devastating it can be. Just looking at the bore is impressive! lol.

ONEBGG: Thank you sir, it's a pleasure to be here.
Trainz
trkyhntr, THAT guy is a beauty, all right. My 13 pointer, head, rack and all would fit in that spread! Congrats!
Trainz
trkyhntr:
I've got mixed emotions on the issue. Over the last 40 years or so that I've hunted, several of the smaller racked bucks were definitely that way due to genetics, probably inbreeding. I shot a buck that was looking away from me 5 or 6 years ago that I thought sure was going to be a nice one. The rack was curved forward nicely and I KNEW it had to be a 6 or 8 point. Turned out to be a spike with 12" horns. I was told by those who know that the deer was 5 years old.
Anyway, two years ago, I got a 13 pointer which, to me, was probably the zenith of my hunting days. Soooo, I'll be spending a lot of time with my stand near the RR tracks where the N&S blows through 30 or 40 times a day. If anything with a large rack is stupid enough to come near, I'll think about shooting. Otherwise, I think I'll just use the time to get out into the woods and enjoy some of the nature that's rapidly decreasing due to urban sprawl.
Good luck on your quest for that big one.
Trainz
Geez, sorry for the multi-posts. Every time I hit "submit", nothing happened. Computer very slow today.

trkyhntr: I, unfortunately, live in MA at present but used to live in PA. I hunt Chestnut Ridge just outside of Latrobe. I guess that's close to southcentral, but closer still to southwest PA. Lots of turkey on that ridge, I'm here to tell you. I guess the entire state is having a turkey "boom". Really good to see that.
What do you think of the new "point" system recently instituted?

Logman: Hasher was right, it took me no time to check out that site. Glad I did. You really DO know your firearms. Very impressive! A surprise guest appearance from Yogi would signal the opening of bear season, I'm sure. lol.
Trainz
Logman: Thanks for steering me in this direction. Great board, 'specially this time of year with the leaves changing and a distinct chill in the air. Sniff, sniff. Smells like hunting season again!
I hunt the hardwood forests of PA, generally from a treestand. The longest shot you're gonna get in that area is roughly 100 yards. I've been using a Ruger Super Redhawk with 240 grain Rem. Mag. factory ammunition. The accuracy of this piece is staggering. If I miss, it's ME, not the gun. Thus far, 6 deer on 6 shots.
Again, thanks for the heads-up on this site. Looking forward to leearning a lot here.

Never, in their wildest dreams, could MM's expect such fertile breeding grounds for their shenanigans as is what is being presented to them these days. $50k "donations", office closings, legal actions. What more could they possibly ask for? All fascinating chit for those with cast iron stomachs. Where's the Maalox?
BTW, since when are our revenues, donations, whatever they're called -- in Canadian funds? Curious as hell on that one!
Trainz
TD: "This crowd." ??? eom
Trainz
Well shucky darn, Bob. That should have said it all! lol

POB:
IMO, about the only thing that could increase that individual's performance would be some heavy-duty prodding from the Platinum boys. The question is, how dedicated are those guys to our cause? Wolf's incapacitation certainly seems to have highlighted some serious frailties here. Of course, there is also the possibility that this lull would have transpired anyway whilst awaiting movement from Sweden which could be hinging on those deep cycle tests being performed. And finally, the market as a whole sucks big-time. We were almost BOUND to get hit with a piece of that rock. Wish I would have taken a much closer look at your ice-blaster. lol (that was a VERY weak lol)
Trainz
POB:
I used to think of pwtc as the little company "that could". Without Wolf in the loop, however, it's beginning to look a whole lot more like the little company that can't, didn't, couldn't, doesn't and -- most worrisome of all -- WON'T.
Trainz
mlf & Hasher:
mlf, excellent questions. A damned shame they have to be asked to begin with, but...............
hasher, excellent answers. A damned shame you're not in a position to be less political, but............
Needless to say, all the best to Wolf. Is there any word on his progress in the race against the knife?

plantman: Olde Frothingslosh was started as a joke back in the late 50's by a morning radio guy on KDKA, Pittsburgh named Rege Cordic. This guy's humor was bitingly funny. Anyway, the Pittsburgh Brewery picked up on it and began putting Iron City Beer into very ornate Olde Frothingslosh bottles at Xmas-time. Iron City beer is noted for its headache value. Too much nitrogen or something. I would imagine those bottles are collector's items now. I'll watch for it this Christmas and scoop some for anyone who's interested.
Trainz
Anyone ever tried "Old Frothingslosh" -- the Pale Stale Ale with the Foam on the Bottom? It was a novelty brew put out by Iron City Brewing Co in Pittsburgh. I think they might still make it for Christmastime.
Trainz
Hello mlf: That's probably as good a synopsis as any. Hope today's the end of it, though.
Looks like "Where's the beef" boy has sold and taken a powder over on RB. At least he says he did. Now if only Yogi would transport himself into the middle of a meteor somewhere.
Onward and upward. Best regards.
Trainz
What's with the free-fall today? Any thoughts?
Trainz
POB: I checked out that outfit with the ice-blaster. It certainly looks interesting -- it should, they paid that out fit one helluva lot of shares to make it look that way. Could be wrong, frequently am, but that market strikes me as very finite. Reading over the posts on that RB board, they all seem to be in just about the same boat that we're in -- just waiting for the big PR. Might be worth a tumble, but to me one albatross is enough for now. IMO, of course. Trainz
Trainz
Welcome to a bunch of old faces and some new ones too. By learning from our mistakes (and, of course, the ability to eject if need be) this board could easily become much better than RB ever was.
Best to all, Trainz
Trainz
Hasher, I agree with Reg -- send it to Don. He got slapped around pretty good by our "friends" over there and handled it with real dignity. Trainz
Gulfbreeze, dfh:
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Don, you really DO have some long memory -- the BBQ thing.
Breeze, I did the same thing on RB with the "ignore". Man, they are taking pieces out of each other bigtime. Funny stuff. I see mlf in there slicing and dicing too. It truly is unfortunate that we had to abandon that forum. Healthy dissent is what these places are all about. There are limits to what you can tolerate, though.
Trainz
What a breath of fresh air. Question, though. How is the riff-raff kept out? Does Hasher monitor the site and punt them?
As mentioned to logman recently -- let's all hope that this month is the "next month" we've all been waiting for.
Trainz
Got to agree with just about everyone, the new RB format is just a bit of a bummer. Much too busy -- too many ads. Will keep monitoring that site for pertinent posts, but I hope this becomes the home of the PWTC faithful. I ALSO hope that there's something to talk about -- and soon -- regardless of site! Trainz
Hasher, Hope this little experiment in dictatorship works. I was thinking of logging in as luvthemtrainz52, but thought better of it. Might get automatically punted. Trainz
