They were under investigation for price fixing not long ago and the SP dropped.
Don't know what happened.
So it seemed when i bought it a couple of years ago...but;
This appears to be an outfit run by undisciplined stoners.
Being one myself, this is kinda endearing...
But it's not the best indication for financial success.
"All the strength of 100 camels in a courtyard"
They can't even file paperwork and audits in a timely manner.
Still, i'm not selling...maybe foolishly.
Real pleased to have enjoyed the SP's astounding growth on NVTA since my last post.
It's compensated for a number of my overly optimistic bio stock decisions.
They elected to sink everything into rapid growth instead to going cash flow positive this round;
so the SP is down a bit...I bought more!
Hi Jesspro:
If i get cancer again, it'll be a different cancer, thanks for your good wishes.
ADXS had the spotlight and the hot technology and slowly frittered it away .
They proved that superior science and bad management is a losing proposition. Innocent folks die unnecessarily and stockholders like myself lose their faith and hard won dollars.
Good luck to you.
Hey Oakrock:
It was a long, painful, ride down.
Too bad about Yahoo and i hub is hardly thriving. Guess social media gobbled them up so they could follow them around.
I think ADXS blew it, their IP slowly expired and a great many people died agonizing deaths unnecessarily.
I should have bailed out long before i did..
Good luck to you.
Categorize it under "Involuntary educations"
Thanks Jindal:
Sure hope they can make it work acceptably!
Hello again Dew D;
I sold as it rose, in 3 increments, but was still premature..It's at 4.21 now!
I'll buy back in when it settles back down.
The FDA approval is just one of dozens they've had to weather, and they still have to wait for labeling language details. The approval is only for importing GM stock from their Canadian breeding facility.
Meanwhile, they've moved to stock regular atlantic salmon so the facility isn't idle and it'll be a couple of years before they've matured....not knowing when this approval would come.
GLTA
Yeah Pete;
I didn't sell, but i should have.
Management tried to sell us out and the reasonable thing to do was run.
We sure aren't seeing the rapid growth and level of innovation we had.
My investment in Clovis is now worth less than 1/4 of what i put in.
CLVS IP is worth much less than before and faith in management has been blown away. There is some chance the pipeline will save us, but it's not great.
Wishing for a buy out is grasping at straws.
Jesspro:
I invested all i dared in ADXS many years ago, believing in the science.
It was at $14, pre-reverse split. As it went down, i kept adding more.
Now it's worth fractions of a penny on the dollar.
I'm a cancer survivor and had serious hope for the science here.
It turns out that science and the fruits of brilliant research don't appreciate with time.It becomes old hat, gets left behind, and the intellectual property protections eventually elapse...Poof....While management was vocal but singularly ineffectual. The science was never given an adequate chance.
We had enough money to run a stage 3 clinical trial at one critical point, but management spent that on themselves and dog and pony shows.
Before Ihub i was on the Yhoo MB commenting along with FBG and others, but was often banned for being a downer.
In retrospect, i was correct all along.
Today, i just sold my very last remaining 1200 odd shares.
ADXS pizzed away a splendid opportunity and all my hard earned investment went with it.
Good luck!
Well, we didn't have good luck with this at all.
Should have sold out when the fat offer was on the table...Shoulda-woulda.
Company seems to be staggering back up on it's feet finally.
That's genuinely ugly!
Is Mahaffy still CEO, and if so, why?
Pretty fair long term bet...I took it a while back.
More than a bit unjust, unkind and contrary to their obligation to the shareholders.
I finally bailed out and dragged my remaining pennies away, bleeding and sniveling.
It looked so good for a while...I wonder how much of that appearance was due to misrepresentation by management?
It's academic i suppose.
Sure am;
Looks good in the long term...Just look at the growth rates!
I finally bailed out with a loss conix...It was a long slow ride down.
As long as nat gas is cheap, we have no feedstock price advantage.
I recall sitting in a smoke filled room and being very certain that it'd be legal in 10 years.
Enjoy the novelty.
Big agribusiness will dominate the field soon.
Application is not much different from what i used it for in 1964.
There's no significant barrier to entry.
This is very old tech and my expectations for it are very low.
Where are the sales figures for this line? Not so good.
Good luck to us both.
I've had my hopes squashed so many times here, that it's hard to take the future seriously.
I'm a cancer survivor ( 1980) and take this stuff seriously.
I've grown old waiting for ADXS to make it across the FDA finish line.
PANW continues to grow and gain market share in a sector that will continue to expand briskly.
Looks like a fine bet to me.
It's reasonable to assume than any possible IP protection AXAL had has long since expired, along with it's economic value.
They had a potential fortune and real hope for saving thousands of lives from a horrible death in their hands.
Management urinated that away and allowed any possible IP protection to slowly expire.
This is my oldest holding and i've lost a great amount of money, having first bought at $14, pre-reverse split.
None of the promising "deals" have panned out.
The 2 remaining drug prospects are many years from fruition and the necessary clinical trials are far beyond the company's means.
I'm an utter idiot for not selling at $10 or $15 when i had the chance.
Management greed and ineptitude has cost us and myriad patients profoundly.
Here as well.
Painful and expensive...I remain pizzed off at the singularly inept bunglers.
Belatedly, yes, it was jerked out from under their greedy hands by the PRC.
I bought more too, expecting a vigorous rebound and continued growth.
Apparently management spent the time and $ pouting ,and has no real plans for future development.
Disheartened, i bailed out.
Management sold us out in entering into that deal and emerged completely limp wristed.
It's a shame! It was a hot company with a bright future.
No real future plans, management is investing the $ that should have gone to R&D into their future salaries and bonuses instead...Ugly.
I bailed out, sigh!
Agreed Johnny....It's more than a little tragic.
Innocent folks continue to die unnecessarily and we lost a bundle!
That hurt! I bailed out belatedly.
Obviously, management was inept and remained much more interested in their personal finances than either the stockholders or sick patients.
(Insert vivid profanity here!)
Jimmy:
The FDA is seriously underfunded and being pulled in different directions by an ignorant public, ignorant legislators, big money lobbies, and loads of big pharma money. They are struggling.
They do the best they can.
The antisense platform is valid and has some FDA approvals and cured folks as proof.
The FDA is afraid of risk, even in the cases of folks with fatal diseases. The liability attorneys flock like hungry vultures.
It was around 5 or 6$ when i wrote this.
1t's $16.47 just now.
It's continuing to grow just as fast...check out the chart.
Do your DD.
Lets us both listen to your wife from now on, please...grin
Sincerely hope this lousy deal folds!
In the time we were hung up in it's clutches, NXPI has presumably continued to increase sales and innovate....And grow at it's previous furious rate.
Qualcom didn't really try to increase it's offer proportionately, much less offer the normal premium for a fast growing company.
We are worth much more now and i'll be pleased when we are free of the torpid Qual parasitic slug.
When the deal folds, perhaps the PPS will slump for a bit, then we surge up to our rightful value.
Isn't that ever so encouraging?
Groan: You've been right all along on this one, i'm afraid.
CEMP looked so good and i was dumb enough not to bail when i had the chance.
Thanks for your expertise Johnny.
I said before the decline into the reverse split that ADXS
badly needed to sink every penny into pushing through a substantial, well controlled , ph3 clinical study....Several if we could.
I later predicted that the EU application was based on inadequate info.
This has been my first serious stock investment and has been disastrously educational and very costly.
Either management has been flagrantly incompetent, willing to exploit the stockholders faith pathologically, and or repeatedly lied to us.
Both on the YMB and here, i've voiced cynicism when it was warranted and sometimes hope and enthusiasm over the years. We really were leading the immuno parade years ago.
Because of my honestly negative opinions i've been blocked, censored and even banned.
Now, all my fears have proved true!
The substantial chance to save thousands of cancer patients from agonizing deaths has been wizzed away to support management and other parasites.
I'm profoundly saddened.
Too late to wish us all goodluck.......ironyworks/shub
My heart goes out to you Pinch.
I know i wouldn't have been able to make it through my heavy, experimental chemo if it wasn't for pot.
Med pot has yielded very mixed results in terms of cure rate, but we take what we can get.
Are you signed up for any clinical trials? Some of those look like they have good potential.
Surely do hope you can beat that thing!
i sincerely wish you good luck.
Rocket, I've had money in AMFE for a while now, mostly for ships and giggles, but i think it has a chance to do OK, management's apparent ADHD not withstanding.
As a personal guess, i've figured that GRO 3 will not make it , but i think other parts of the company have a good chance.
Be really careful with this! Claims of various cancer cures plague oncology and cause lots of suffering and false hope.
I know 2 instances where heavy pot smokers who had brain cancers , kept smoking while it killed them.
I imagine it'll work safely as a sterilizing system that leaves no residue ( don't ask the APCD).
But there are no barriers to another company producing an equivalent system if it proves economically viable.
"Never worry again"?
Don't be silly...Did you take much biology in school?
Have you read about the accelerated evolution experiments?
It won't be long before resistant microbes begin to show up and the old arms race begins again.
