I'm still here but would appreciate some updates
Com'o Bill make something happen. It is too quiet for comfort.
IMO, none of the financial maneuvers by Bill Solms are of any value. The corporate risk managers will not be satisfied until the "going concern" clause in the 10K is addressed. That is one of the first things a risk manager look for. I don't think a risk manager is going to second guess the auditors opinion.
checkinin...if you can devise an exit plan, count me in...this is beyond anything I ever would have imagined 1in 1998...a third of my life in this cult.
We have a long way to go...before I will be celebrating.
This better be it.....cause I am getting too old for this.
As expected...it is followed by a string of not so good days in wavxkland. It is about time that we got some traction out of BS.
It's coming
I just can't believe I have been holding on to my Dong for this long.

About Wave Systems Corp.
Wave Systems reduces the complexity, cost and uncertainty of data protection by starting inside the device. That's a big tax bill!
I have been "out of touch" with the board as of late because of other obligations at work/home/school. I am somewhat edgey about the general economy and stock market but I sense what seems like an unusually high level of excitement around here. I see some posts that I don't understand about the TPM/TCM in China as well as some of the usual HAPpy government dots. However, since I have been not following closely I don't really "get it" right now.
Can someone here please, if you have the time and inclination, give me a quick summary of what the celebratory tone is all about. Is it different this time and worth "popping a cork" for? Or is it the usual Wavoid dot connecting hallucinations?
Is this guy asking to recap the finacials for real? He should read the press release!
Welcome back Sorosman.
Or would he be better getting a newer ASUS motherboard with an Intel integrated TPM.
I think someone here gave a link to a site with these ASUS motherboards.
Any ideas?
I have a friend who bought an ASUS P5Q Deluxe motherboard which has a header for a TPM, but does not include one. Where would you get one to put on this board?
Does ASUS sell them?
Which should he get Atmel, Broadcom Corporation, Infineon Technologies AG, STMicroelectronics, and Nuvoton Technology if he wants to add a Segate FDE and Wave Suite?
Any ideas would be appeciated.
The slide shows BCBS of Kansas City, BCBS of Tennessee is a different company.
Today we soar to new highs!
OT but nice name.
The Bipartisan Policy Center has created Cyber ShockWave, a simulated cyber attack on our nation. To defend against this attack, a working group of high-ranking former White House, Cabinet and national security officials will come together. Their mission: to advise the President as the nation grapples with this crisis.
The simulation was developed in partnership with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, SMobile Systems, Southern Company, Georgetown University and PayPal.

Simulated hacker attack to test US government response
Cyber ShockWave involves former administration staff, national security officials
http://www.computerworlduk.com/management/government-law/public-sector/news/index.cfm?newsid=18787
By Jaikumar Vijayan
Security industry analysts and lawmakers will get an unprecedented chance next week to evaluate how the government might respond to a hack attack on critical infrastructure targets.
The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC), a Washington-based non-profit established in 2007 by several lawmakers, will host a simulated nation-wide cyber-attack next Tuesday for a group of former administration and national security officials, who will be playing the roles of Cabinet members.
The goal of the simulation, called Cyber ShockWave, is to see how officials in key government positions would react to a real-time cyber-attack, and to evaluate the split-second decisions they may be required to take to deal with it, a BPC alert noted.
Those playing the roles of various cabinet members include former DHS secretary Michael Chertoff, the former Director of National Intelligence John Negroponte, former White House Homeland Security Advisor Fran Townsend and former White House press secretary Joe Lockhart.
The participants, none of whom will have any advance information on the simulated attacks, will be expected to advise the President on the unfolding attacks and craft a response to them. The event is scheduled to take place at Washington's Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
A report in The Atlantic said that a considerable effort is being put into making the exercise as realistic as possible.
http://politics.theatlantic.com/2010/02/_recreating_a_s_ituation.php
A production company has been hired to recreate a White House situation room in the Mandarin hotel, and professional scriptwriters will aid security experts in creating the simulated attack.
The whole exercise itself was developed by former CIA director general Michael Hayden and several others, including former New Jersey governor Thomas Kean and Congressman Lee Hamilton, both of whom were co-chairs of the 9/11 commission. Companies and organizations that are participating in the effort include General Dynamics, Georgetown University and PayPal.
This is not the first time that BPC has organized a similar exercise. In 2007, it hosted Oil Shockwave, an oil crisis simulation, in which nine former cabinet and national security advisers participated. The purpose of that exercise was to explore the economic and national security implications of a prolonged crisis in the oil industry.
This month's planned cyber-security simulation comes amid growing concerns over state-sponsored attacks against critical IT assets. The recent hacking attacks against Google and more than 30 technology companies allegedly by operatives based out of China have highlighted what many say is the need for a formal US policy for deterring and responding to such attacks.

Weby,
I remember when Danny Hakim was interviewing for his first article (was the first one in Smart money or the NY Times?) and we were at the table in the Hyatt. When he asked me questions about investing in wave and my handle on raging bull, I was real evasive and not very forthcomong with my story. Having read his article and not seing me mentioned, I am glad I was too uninteresting for him to write about.
However, if he comes around again I will remind me that I remember his condescending remarks.
wiz- I think you are referring to Tony McFadden's (aka eamonshute) TPM Matrix which has not been uppdated since 2006 and therfore was removed from the iBox.
Please keep up if you want to remain a member in good standing.

Can anyone tell me if any of the solid state drives for desktops are also self encrypting and use Wave software? TIA
thanks gokite- that sounds good.
Can someone tell me what Intel motherboards for desktop PCs support TPMs?
I would like to get any suggestions for someone who is building a computer and wants to use the Embassy tools. He is not intersted in getting another laptop.
Are there are any tips?
Thanks.
And, Mr. Steven K. Sprague, President, Wave Systems Corp., (www.wave.com) (NASDAQ:WAVX - News), said, "Even though this has been a tough year for the PC industry, we've been able to substantially grow our OEM revenue and our software footprint through the distribution per quarter of four to five million copies of our software."

GuardianEdge to Release Management Capabilities for Self-Encrypting Drives
DATE: 2009-12-08 | By Ericka Chickowski
The new encryption management product is meant to work seamlessly with the Trusted Computing Group's (TCG) hardware-based disk encryption specification, Opal.
Endpoint security firm GuardianEdge announced yesterday that it will evolve with the full disk encryption market by releasing a new encryption management product meant to work seamlessly with the Trusted Computing Group's (TCG) hardware-based disk encryption specification, Opal.
Released earlier this year by TCG, Opal was designed to offer the industry a standard for self-encrypting drives, which many in the security and storage space will help organizations comply with regulations such as PCI and HIPAA to protect data across its lifecycle. Several drive manufacturers, including Fujitsu and Hitatchi, have already unleashed Opal drives to the channel, with a torrent of even more drives due for release in 2010.
"Really, what we've seen evolve here has been over the last year or more, increased awareness in the market about the need for data protection," says Ram Krishnan, senior vice president of products and marketing for GuardianEdge. "What's interesting is that even though we see more and more organizations become aware that they have to protect their data only about 30 percent of these enterprises have actually begun any kind of project around encryption or data protection and so forth. So it's still kind of ample opportunity in that portion of the market."
Resource Library:
Krishnan says that GuardianEdge has been working around the paradigm that the market will likely shift to Opal-compliant drives, but not via a rip-and-replace model. Instead, it will slowly be instituted throughout organization' s PC refresh cycle. As that happens gradually, GuardianEdge hopes to offer organizations top-to-bottom encryption management support no matter what percentage of their endpoint infrastructure contains Opal self-encrypting drives.
"In essence, what we're doing is providing a capability to initialize and manage these drives as they come into the environment," says Joe Hoban, vice president of worldwide channel sales for GuardianEdge. "One of the real strengths of what we're doing here is enabling the organization to manage encryption on the endpoint either through software or through a self encrypting drive in a consistent way from all perspectives. If it has one of these drives we'll initialize it and leverage it, if it does not, then we'll install our software-based encryption engine on that machine."
Even in a theoretical endpoint envrionment consisisting solely of Opal drives, Hoban and Krishnan say that self-encrypting drives have their limitations.
"What's notable is these drives provide this built in encryption in the hardware, but they really do not provide any form of ability to do, for example, centralized rollout or deployment of a protection solution across an organization, no centralized key management or key recovery, no centralized policy capability of any sort, and no ability to have any reporting or auditing," Krishnan explains. "So the things that you typically need in an organization to be able to have a solution around data protection are not being provided."
He believes GuardianEdge can help organizations round out their endpoint protection scheme with more complete management capabilities.
The drive management capabilities for Opal announced today will go through beta testing this month and be released to the channel in early 2010.

jake tell your dad - That he should not get too excited about Sungard - I have been living inside the belly of that beast for 20 years and inovation is not one of the first words that come to mind.
ot MaynardG - It was created using a pdf generator software that is web based in New Zealand.
http://www.ros.co.nz/
Weby - I am still invested but due to other obligations maybe I have not been paying enough attention the wave folklore in recent years but...
I do not "remember the story a couple of years ago about the General asking the NSA if this guy Sprague knew what he was talking about!!!"
Nor did I "note the nomination for the award from the guys who know about TPMs and Digital Identity."
weby anf jakesdad- that is fascinating stuff but how does Wave make money from this? That is, is there something more concrete besides the grand wavoid hope that they will somehow be paid for their hoped for involvment in the management of these TPM enabled devices?
Flyerguy- Please explain to me why you you believe "that we (Wavx) is an integral part of the Cloud Computing solution?"
Certainly, there are security considerations with "cloud computing" but many companies address these without TPMs or Wave. Cloud computing is an umbrella phrase for many solutions and/or software application involving a client and host connected via IP. I work with many vendors and clients of such technologies everyday of the week and I would say that 99.9% never mention TPMs and 0% ever heard of Wave.
weets- I must have missed that one - Do you have a link?
deliver soon ?
