Sharkey, I held my shares past the October 4 date before I liquidated. I cast my proxy vote on my shares this morning by internet. Did so in a futile effort, but I can at least say I had my swan song say regarding this railroaded reverse split fiasco. in my opinion Dr. H has succeeded in destroying a beautiful concept and dream. I will continue to keep an eye on this. GLTA

Sharky, this by far, is the most interesting forum I have ever participated in in my stock investment forays. I requested my check from TD Ameritrade today that will zero my account after selling all my holdings in APDN over the past few days. As of my final transaction it was a 95% LOSS over the past approximate seven years. That set a personal record for the WORST investment in my investing career of over 40 years. I have been experiencing fantastic returns in numismatics lately and find it a fun way of using my tertiary play funds. I honestly wish you all the best in your future. I most likely will drop in and check on all of you from time to time. Good by for now. I have to preface this with the fact that APDN is only a SMALL portion of my total investments. Thank God! Luckily my major portfolio is with Vanguard and is doing exceedingly well. I also have an interest in the coin market. I sold a Lincoln Cent for $25.00 the other day. I found that penny in a roll of pennies I bought from the bank. I don't think APDN will ever show a return on investment like that! I have been in the APDN game for a long time. My first buy in was at 20 cents per share, as I recall. I next made an even larger buy that had me in at just over 12 cents per share total. Then I started to believe in a load of crap being fed to me and stayed to receive a 1 for 60 reverse split. Big ass mistake. I watched a bunch of scientific minds try to be businessmen and totally fail. Bluetick suggested it might be time to punt. Watching Hayward totally destroy a beautiful dream is a sickening thing to me. I fully intend to contact my brokerage Monday morning and PUNT my way out of this mess. I'll take my losses against my taxes and maybe go out and buy a truck load of Lincoln pennies and see if I can find a rare one to sell. My odds couldn't be worse than they are today. GLTA RandyK
Sharkey and Crew, just letting you know that I am still hanging around in the background and still holding my shares. Luckily APDN is a minuscule amount compared to my Vanguard investments. I will survive. I am a hobby coin collector and at-least that has shown a positive, compared to APDN. I buy boxes of coins from the bank and search for rare coins and mint errors that can be sold in the numismatic market. Pays a hell of a lot better than what Hayward is able to do. Just watching and waiting.
Laser focused my a$$ets!! I remember laser focused DOD contracts. I remember laser focused on Cotton. I remember.... JMO
Sharkey, I just made the mistake of reading through the Proxy Statement. I spent the time to examine the Executive Officer Compensation section in more detail. I urge everyone to read this and determine their own stance re: compensation before the stockholders vote. I will flat out tell you that my determination is that these people have built a bird nest on the ground. For all the hog wash saying how annual and bonus compensation will be determined re: annual and quarterly income, nothing seems to be dependent on them having to show a profit. My way of running my companies was, no profit, no income. Receiving a bonus if a company has an income of $3 mm in a quarter does not mean a damn thing if expenses exceed income. Insiders being able to create notes that pay 6% interest? That simply means if the company fails they get first in line for compensation in the case of a bankruptcy! My honest opinion is we need some deep sole searching folks.
Just catching up today and saw this in the PR.
Applied DNA is using its patented molecular tagging to fight illegal counterfeiting across a variety of industries for its customer base....
To fight illegal counterfeiting? Is there a LEGAL kind of counterfeiting? Just wondering.
dasmortes, as a ex chemical plant engineer, I personally would not want my plant to get counterfeit sprinkler heads installed in its fire suppression system. As for household washing machines i would need to see more information why this would need marking.
Park, It could be that you have researched the organic tagging deeper than I have. You Say;
The use of a dna Tagant at the ginning stage would not alter this legal requirement.
Organicott has not contracted the use of APDN Taganrog because they don’t want to.
I can only speak for my contact with an Organic Cotton gin operator here in Texas. I was told the ONLY reason they did not use the dna taggant was that it did not have the approval for certification that would allow the tagged cotton to be labeled and sold as 'organic'. They did not say they 'did not want to'. That is all that I can add. RandyK
SOL,your statement "the large stake drH holds pretty much means he's there 2stay as long as he'd like." is pretty much where the problem lies. My 74 years on this earth have taught me a lot, and my life experiences far exceed my years of collegiate education. I've done everything from teach school, engineering and owning and operating private companies. The person at the top sets the entire tone of the business operation. I will confess it is possible for a company to be very successful even under inept leadership sometimes if the product or service is so ingenious yet simple to understand that it sells itself. Unfortunately DNA marking is not one of those simple things that will do that. Just My Personal Opinion
You say,
"btw, apdn has plenty of sales folks drawn from several industries who are developing/implementing marketing plans and reaching out/serving customers (both current and potential)."
Tell me, just how successful has this group been at establishing long term cash inflow???? Also, it is very clear DrH on brings people onboard that have the same vision as his, and how has that worked out???
What do you know, SOL thinks he's John Gault.
Park, As many know, I have been preaching this to the choir for many years. Auto manufacturers don't leave the sales strategies to the design team. If they did, I can't imagine how auto sales would look. Just my humble opinion.
Sharkey, I'm just a simple guy and maybe I am wrong, but these insider loans could bite the investors in the assets, as I see it. If this thing folds up like a house of cards I do believe they, as creditors, would hold a position of power to place leans against all company assets ahead of the investors. So the value of all those patents would go to them before us, I do believe. Looks to me as though they are able to protect themselves by a move like this that was not offered to us. Did Hayward give you a call to see if you would like to get a deal that would pay you a guaranteed return on an investment with Applied DNA Sciences? I have been involved in bankruptcies with people who owed be for services and materials, but the banks and loan creditors were first in line to get what money and assets that were available. If I am wrong, someone just say so. RandyK
Parkmart and Sharky, I'm still around. Been around since long before my alias born date. I started with APDN a couple of years before I connected with this board. Still holding the BAG so to speak, but I think it could be a counterfeit BAG and I need to have it tested. My investment in APDN, although substantial, is around 1% of what I have with Vanguard, so my concerns are more with that than with Applied DNA Sciences and Hayward's gamesmanship. I continue to believe in the concept of protecting products from counterfeiting with DNA, I also continue to think that Hayward is the wrong person to be steering the ship. I've seen a lot in my well over 70 years on this earth, and taught school, and owned multiple companies before medical retirement ended my physical working career. I've been around and will continue to be around, just don't have the interest in continuing to try to find ways to promote a company that stumbles along bumping off the walls. GLTA i'll still be reading the posts when time allows. RandyK
Mickyboy, I have been preaching this sermon for YEARS, to no avail.
Rode, It is possible that Massive Attack could make more from this one off gimmick that ADNAS does for a quarter. JMO
Rode, [expectation of all USA cotton to be tagged someday.] Doesn't APDN have an exclusive with Himatsingka? Himatsingka is far from representing ALL USA cotton growers. Is this not the case?
Foose, I for one don't dump on this hiring today. But, I will if I don't see some positive results. We've put people on the board and hired people that were expected to improve the production of contracts and that has not happened. RESULTS speak volumes, let's see some results!!!!

Sharkey, re: faulting Jim Hayward. I said this YEARS ago; Scientist build the base by developing the science that gets us the patents needed to build this company, but scientist are not salesmen. Do auto companies depend on their design group to sell their products? I don't think so. Jim belongs in the lab. I also have to question who sets the dollars charged for our products. Seems to me that they are moving product but it doesn't result in any income. ROI seems to be screwed up.
Just my observations.
RandyK
Congrats Mike, to you and your spouse. Thursday I will reverse those digits. 53 years. But I am thinking this may fulfill my sentence. There could maybe be a pardon in my future.
Posts on this Board are getting way out of hand here. Keep your post regarding APDNAS and keep the petty S?i# to your self PLEASE. JMO
Park, I have been around hear for a number of years. If I know APDNS, I am as far off base as anyone could be. I haven't been right about anything with them so far.
Yip, Let's look at this another way. The UL label counterfeited on a counterfeited product? You want a BIG what if! What if UL required all UL labels have a DNA marker to cover the weakness of just anybody putting a UL label on their package.
Whoop-de-do is what I say. Another vertical that is just like Jack and the Bean Stalk. It'll most likely come crashing down. SHOW ME THE MONEY i'm getting tired of waiting. It's a Texas thing folks.
Sharky, footballs in West Texas are not round. Did you ever read the book or see the movie 'Friday Night Lights'?
Does this Pilot further the question about APDNs process not making the grade? DoD should have plenty of data from years back regarding DNA marking of semi-conductors. Makes me wonder.
This board is becoming my greatest entertainment. Understand that I am holding loooooong and will continue because for some strange reason I still believe in the concept. But all this consternation about the list of verticals that are supposed to make us all rich but producing no PRs or contracts reminds me that I have been around since the Department of Defense was the talk of the day. The DoD was going to make us all rich, but? APDN has a way of finding verticals that draw in investors, build up hopes and then crickets. Just my honest opinion.
Micky, If this is intended to only be conceptual as stated by Sanjay, should there be a disclaimer connected? Or is it intended to be an out and out fraud? A fraud to dupe possible new investors?
Thanks Jag. Just looked at it on Twitter. Noticed that they have a whopping 4764 followers. Of that enormous number, I wonder how many have the ability to make an influential impact on the Pharma sector. It is a great message!! It just needs to be presented in a way that can reach more than 4764 people. Just sayin'.
Superb find Jag. I have so much going in my old age that I don't have the time or patience to search these things out. Can you give us the steps necessary to find this? If APDNS would spread this in a way that contacted the masses it would surely create more interest in a positive way. That is what I refer to as SALESMANSHIP!!!
Foose, I do understand that in most cases we are not trying to contract with 'end users'. We have trial after trial after trial that prove the efficacy of our product. Many of these trials could apply to areas and products we have not approached. I do mean a 'sales team' (people that can sell ice to Eskimos) that can spread the word about APDNS and how we can aid companies in defending against counterfeiters. If enough 'end users' find out about us, they could demand that their suppliers consider our protection to improve their bottom line losses to counterfeits. Just saying.
RandyK
Cheekie, I am still of the opinion that the proliferation of our process will best happen with a technically knowledgeable sales team. I am far from convinced that scientists are best capable to sell our process to the masses. Just my opinion.

Excellent news re: L - D and Australian cotton. But if you failed to research the Adobe Walls Gin that I posted about a few days ago, let me share some numbers. Last season they ginned 140,000 bails (approx 70 million pounds). Remember they are in the process of an addition that will more than double their capacity and make them the largest gin in the world. Also remember that this gin is NOT tagging their cotton. ADNAS needs to get their foot in the door here. Just saying.

Yip, I made contact with the W.M. Keck Center for 3D innovation a few months back. The Center is located on the campus of my alma mater The University of Texas at El Paso. I gave them contact info for Applied DNA Sciences to get them interested in researching the use of our DNA taggant in their 3D printing research.
Driving the Additive Manufacturing Revolution
Located at The University of Texas at El Paso, the Keck Center is a unique multidisciplinary research facility focused on the use and development Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies with primary focus areas in AM Technology Development, Engineered and Structured Materials, and Advanced AM Applications.
Had a telephone conversation with an employee of Adobe Walls Gin located north of Amarillo, Texas. That person tells me that their Gin is NOT marking their cotton with a taggant. For a perspective of what this means to us if this gin is not part of our joy juice marking, go to this web site
for some in depth info.
Park, I saw and noted this a while back. All other references in this article are to Applied DNA Sciences. Also, if you do an internet search for Advanced DNA Sciences, all you get are results for Applied DNA Sciences.

This is my last posting in regard to this discussion. There are two different Dow Pharmaceutical companies. Dow Pharmaceutical Sciences Inc. is a privately owned company engaged in the development of topical drug products for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. Dow Pharmaceutical Solutions is part of Dow and offers APIs for laxatives, colonic lavage, hypercholesterolemia and hyperkalemia as well as functional excipients designed to address delivery challenges in a multitude of dosage forms. We need to clear up which one that is the possible client for Applied DNA Sciences. Someone clear this up = PLEASE.
