Still time to WIN CASH picking losers, not winners @ phawknpicks.com - Shirky
Thanks for the Sticky. There's still time to enter and win cash for picking losers at www.phawknpicks.com - Shirky
I don't have a problem with the donation if I can get the enrollment from your participants here. I'm trying to get my offer on a sticky note so everyone playing your game has a chance to see ours. - Shirky
S4J - I'd like to offer $100 towards an iHub 1 year subscription, but only if we can get 30 or more of your participants to join our loser pool at www.phawknpicks.com where you can win cash for picking an NFL team to lose, not win, straight up, no points. - Shirky
You can not pick a team more than once in the Loser Pool. The rules are open for everyone to view before they pay and register. - Shirky
S4J - I'm in. Houston to win. - Shirky
The site to play for cash is located at phawknpicks dot com, but you pick losers, not winners. If you pick winners at that site then you are out of the game. We paid out over 2k last year. - Shirky
S4J - Is it a problem to ask if anyone playing this free game is interested in a game where a $30 entry fee gets you in to a double elimination pool and all you have to do is pick a loser or two each week without considering point spreads? - Shirky
The 2011 NFL Loser Pool is accepting registration at the other website. You pick losers and win cash. No point spreads to consider. - Shirky
It's on another site. phawknpicks dot com.
I'm not sure what the rules here are, but if you are interested I am running an NFL loser pool where you can win cash. We paid out over 2k in three games that we ran last year to eight winners. -Shirky
I'm just keeping an eye on it through my Scottrade account. On 3.25 the O/S was 1.0294B and I checked on 4.6 and 1.53B. - Shirky
Has anyone noticed that sometime in the last couple/few weeks that the outstanding shares has jumped about 500m?
This could be old news that I missed as I do not check this board daily, but I do check the O/S every few weeks.
I am long on this investment. - Shirky
Expanding the roll-out and future revenue?
I received this public response from GO800 to a question posted on the "Get Satisfaction" website support for Go800. The question was related to how a business could register a keyword without signing up a twitter account.
"Right now registration is locked down to authenticating with twitter, other social networks will be added to this moving forward. We suggest you come up with a twitter name that is available and makes sense for your business. At some point keywords not claimed will be made available via an auction like process".
I believe it's only a matter of time before this product gets as big as we all hope it will. - Shirky
Doone - are you part of the next promotional rollout since I hear that the ambassador program is going by the wayside?
I do have an idea for marketing - it seems that the target audience is primarily mobile so I'm guessing that the radio and possibly newspaper or kindle type device (depending on your mode of transportation) may be the most likely means to get the message out. Have any radio stations been contacted to show them how they may be able to get more advertisers per advertising minute by using a word to connect rather than having the advertiser repeat the contact phone number 5 or 6 times per commercial? Just thinking out loud. - Shirky
GOIG is providing the means (at no charge basically, unless you exceed the allowed free minutes) for a company that wants to advertise a text to connect concept. Everyone here knows that it works. But not every company, big or small, will want to include this type of advertising on a larges scale basis. One reason would be because of the possible requirement for additional employees (which the advertiser may need) to return or answer phone calls. I would love to have the problem of too much business, but it can also hurt a business if they are not prepared for the additional phone volume.
Some businesses use the internet primarily and may need to change their thinking if they are targeting people that are mobile and attempting to get a spur of the moment reaction. Other businesses are advertising using a hard to remember 1-8xx number and they may be more prepared to handle the volume. But if the advertiser expects to be able to communicate directly with a caller within seconds of contact they may not be staffed to provide that service.
It will take some time for the advertiser to determine if the text/connect concept is working and how well. If you own a business, even a small business, you want the most for your advertising dollar. I know from my own small business experience that it sure is nice to know that you're getting a good return on your advertising investment. GOIG is even providing the documentation by showing the advertiser how often the service is being used. I like this idea and believe it will be the best product going in the future, but you are sure going to have to have some patience for it to get there, either as an advertiser or invester. I am both.
The recent twitter rollout is only improving GOIG exposure for a product that the advertisers still need to utilize. I don't believe that it is GOIGs responsibility to advertise my business for me. That's my job. All GOIG has done is provide the means for me to advertise a new way for customers to contact my business without having to remember a phone number. Just my thoughts after reading all the whinning for the past few days. - Shirky
Naaa...I'm pretty sure I got it right. The page on Scottrade that I'm looking at (Quotes & Research) doesn't even show available shares. -Shirky
Has anybody noticed that GOIG has 250m additional shares outstanding? I just started tracking this because of all the attention it seemed to be getting back in February. I'm not new to this stock because I'm over a year in it now. 1st purchase was on 2.26.10 and I'm still accumulating. Anyway, on 2.16.11 I looked at my Scottrade account and there were just under 2B shares outstanding. There are now over 2.25B shares outstanding. Why are all these extra shares showing up now? Help me to understand. Is it possible that this has something to do with the current pps? - Shirky
Yeah you still need a phone number, but now you don't have to give it out if you don't want to. That's part of what this is all about. You don't need to remember them and your contact list could be names, NOT numbers. - Shirky
Volume is kind of low today though. Could be the national holdiday weather, or not.
OK, I give up. How do I find this "IBOX" with all the information that I'll need?
I wasn't asking to join the pool this year, duh. I am asking because I'd like to know if you do this next season where I can find the rules and fees to see if it's something I may want to do next year. I looked back for posts at the beginning of this season but i still could not find any reference to rules or entry fees. Maybe this is a closed party that only members can attend? Which is fine. But the s/a comments are not necessary.
I just found this site. Are there rules to this game? Does it cost to enter? what can you win? - Shirky
The person I spoke with at ADT did not know that I had sent a text message to GO800 or that I just guessed that the keyword was even an active one. They thought that I had called them (at 11:15pm in the eveninging? who knows why they would thing that) when in reallity I was connected through the GO800 service. I texted, they connected. But then, why would an inside sales person know what corporate HQ is doing with advertising? Anyway, if you can try this service for free for 90 days, (which their website claims you can do) and on day 91 (or after) the service is still working, could one not make a logical assumption that there is even a small possibility that there may be a fairly large company actually trying out, but not necessarity paying for, this service and is just waiting to see what kind of response they get before they do all out advertising? (which is an entirely different conversation)
I'm invested in this stock but i'm also a small business owner. It's not easy starting up a business, growing a business, or realizing results from uncontrolled local or national advertising. You thinks that it's any easier for a large company? This is a long term investment for me. I would like for it to take off right now, but realistically I'm fairly certain that that is not going to happen. I believe it will happen, but I also believe patience with this one will pay off in the long run. - Shirky
I just texted ADT to 46800. Almost immediately my cell rang and I got a recorded message stating that I was being connected and within a few moments I was speaking to a sales center in Florida. Not sure what this means, but I had texted security to 46800 prior to that and the response was that that key word was not correct and that I should check the spelling. Anyway, it was an ADT sales office in Florida that I was speaking to and I'm in Ohio. They did ask if I was interested in setting up a meeting with a sales consultant. I thanked them and said no.
Anyone know how big ADT is? - Shirky
I believe the counter you are refering too is for donations at that donation site only. I don't know where they are posting the total donations for the event.
Just donated to the Vets - Hope they make their goal.
