They way my ears heard it!!!
Vale have no interest any where in NL except the refinery and Labrador.
Since new mansgement took over, from this point in time they are not going to get involved with any more exploration plays just the ones that may have a proven resource. Also this don't mean that there is no major mineral deposit on the Bonavista peninsula or else where.
That's the way it came to my ears; I have no offical NR to that so take it for what it is worth. For me I believe it.
Oh MY OH MY Vale spent all that money in Long Harbour for nothing lol lol
Good morning PAYDAY11-- I understand your thinking at first. I felt the same way at first when I got involved with CGP at that time they were a private company. As Rel stated in his post they area prospect generator-- Good morning also REL.
They are not working for other companies, all the properties are there properties that they JV out to other companies to do the major lifting on the property, the other compnay spends their money to bring the property further along usually with some sort of a split in ownership 70/30, 60/40, 50/50 or so and so.
At this point in time our best property or should I say our most advanced property would be with Thundermine Resource (THR) a JV at a 50/50 split on costs.
As for the SP i know it sucks, but IMO at this point Ibelieve it is a steal...
If you would take a little bit of time and do some DD on CGP web site I think you would get a better a picture of CGP.
All the best in your investment decisions.
Cheers
Good morning Gump-- Just stopped in to have a quick look and catch up on a few of your posts. lol lol
Those 11 JV are Cornerstones JV NOT Kens. Sure Ken was a co-founder of Cornerstone but some people get CO-founder confused with EQUAL partner and running the company. Ken was a prospector and IMO a good one and a hard worker.
IF you want to see who the brains was behind CGP go back and do some research on the other co-founders and if you are true to your self it will be crystal clear who moved this company along with those JV. Yes Ken was at the table but that don't mean alot in the big picture.
Look at it this way CGP is still raising money and getting JV with out any problems. Not so with KATX/KATG WHY ask your self that question.
Now maybe some peoples would like to do some research on another property Ken Ridge that all I will say about that property!!
The selection process for port was based on that it is a deep sea area of the provence, with good land coverage from storms that often blow around Newfie. Also it is ice free most of the year, so ship traffic can come and go freely. That was the reason for the area!!!
It has nothing to do with KATX
I agree on that statement, this came up in discussions years ago when VALE was in talks with the government. Now if memory serves me correctly it was a long time ago. The government made the arguement for other resources in the provence and any future finds in Labrador. As for copper VALE said that the plant could process copper with additions to the plant but those additions are expensive and at the time it was not needed. I don't disagree that VALE will not process other ores at the plant in time.
But as regards as the argument for the LUCKYS at this point in time we have no copper.
Right now the new guy is in place for dealing with agreements in Canada for options and JV. Maybe we will hear some thing this spring. Also CGP is still waiting to see what they are going to do.
Gump I got to reply to this one !!!
Mappo says quote "We need to check this out further and confirm its use when completed.
Nobody here really knows" end Quote
Then he posts a link where VALE says it is going to be a NICKLE Refinery... Then he admits that they are spending 2.8 BILLION and don't know before hand what they will process untill the plant is finished. awesome lol lol
DO VALE know this I wonderlol lol
No mappo I don't agree on testing LUCKY-ORES in the processing plant. The plant can't test raw material and it dosen't make financial sense to put a concentratior in for a test.
Any asseys will be done by an out side company, VALE will not test ores.
YES VALE would be a big job-creator for the province but by the rules they tried that before but Brian Tobin shut them down fast. Also the people has a say what happens in the area, VALE wouldn't want to up set little miss's so and so who couldn't care less about VALE or who ever VALE is. lol lol
HI GUMP lol
Mappo--I don't read this board too often now just a quick glance every now and then; why, to much BS>>> I will give the best case scenario for the Luckys if KATX/BVIG or who ever does raise enough money to drill and they do find some thing worth going after with further drilling; in the very earliest and I mean earliest that any thing would go to market would be at lease 2017 and I'm being generious with that time line.
Why,first of they would have drill many thousands of feet of holes. numerious NI 43-101 reports. 3 years at a minumin with 3 or more drills on the ground.that is the easy part.
Second then they will have to do Pre-feasibility study another year to complete.
Third more drilling to get to a point for a Bankable Feasibility study another year.
Forth and the biggest obstacle an enviromental study in the area. In this area there are many ponds that run into bigger ponds and many of the comunities in those areas for miles around use this for their drinking water and if you think for a split second that this will take less than 2 years you are out to lunch. Also there are many cabin owners in the area that will have to be delt with be KATX/BVIG for financial compensation for cabins, you think that will happen over night. lol Also not to mention the condition of the roads in the area, sure there are roads in the area but those roads are for light cars and trucks so what now road up grades another year. lol
So you think VALE will be running any thing in 2013 from the Luckys. Dream on Dream on.
Now having said all of that, I believe Ken is doing what he can to get back to drilling as soon as possible, sure. Am I a happy camper, nope not at all, am I still long yup, and waiting fro news like every one else.
I though we were talking about the way the newfie gov.. puts things in there library, that any thing show up that what they do. simple as that.
I understand what a lot of people think may be on the Bonavista Branch Cornerstone done all the work there years ago, Cornerstone geos were all over that property with Philps Dodge and Noranda, geo's every where. They found nothing at the time every body believes that there may be a big find there and hopefully VALE will stay and spend the money that will take to find it.
To this day, right now one has found any thing.
Homevendor I not posting to try and knock down what KATX might have found or may find if they drill again. I don't know what they have or not have, I'm like some others here with my shares waiting for some news from KATX and waiting for my BVIG shares.
My post was in reference to what the Newfie includes in their mineral libary as such.. they don't know what is there as in being good or bad big or small; they just supply a service to prospectors and geos or even school children or the general public so we can't give a lot of credibility to what they log. That is the point I was trying to make, what they say is not carved in stone, it helps draw companies to the area in which some one might be looking for some thing.
I met some goes one time from the newfie gov.that had landed in a clearning in the woods from a helicopter where me and a friend were duck hunting. We ask what they were doing and they told us they were going around taking samples from the ponds in the area to and try and find minerals to direct and help prospectors and or who ever wanted to look as a starting point, they do try and help people it is to be taken with a bag of salt
Your welcome
They do promote any thing in site, no matter if is big or small they don't care... It is up to someone else to find what is there if any thing. All the gov.. does is list things found, the same as looking at a map maybe there may be some thing there who knows, let some one else have a look... period thats it
Agree Gump...
In newfie if I go berry picking and decide to boil the kettle and a rock breaks apart because of the heat and I see some thing interesting in that rock; the mining department will promote it, simple as that..
News Out on Hepburn maybe this is the reason for volume!
.Diamonds North Identifies IOCG Targets at Hepburn Property
Marketwire - Mining and Metals | January 22, 2012
Email Article.VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA–(Marketwire – Jan. 22, 2012) - Diamonds North Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:DDN) announces that it has delineated two large scale Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) targets on the Hepburn Property located in the Northwest Territories.
The south IOCG target is over 2.5 kilometres long and up to 200 metres wide. The target is defined by a strong and continuous east-west trending Induced Polarization (IP) chargeability anomaly that extends over this target is open to the west and southeast (See copper and silver maps on our website www.diamondsnorth.com).
The IP anomaly is associated with several other features commonly associated with known IOCG deposits, this includes:
1.A regional magnetic anomaly
2.A regional radiometric anomaly
3.Extensive zones of brecciation
4.Strong magnetite, potassic, hematite, chlorite and sericite alteration
5.Zones of anomalous to high grade copper, silver, gold, bismuth and uranium mineralization
6.Proterozoic intrusive rocks
7.Large, deep-seated faults and graben structures
“IOCG orebodies range from 10 million to 4 billion tonnes and can have grades between 0.2 to 5% copper. They commonly produce important by-products such as gold, silver, uranium and bismuth. At this stage, Hepburn is demonstrating many of these qualities as it is a large scale target with key IOCG alteration, structure and mineralization characteristics. An initial drill program could significantly advance this project,” says Mark Kolebaba, President and CEO of Diamonds North.
In 2011, 24 line kilometres of IP were surveyed and 61 samples were collected from the property. Table 1 shows a compilation of selected samples highlighting the south target. The geochemistry shows high copper (up to 19.8%), silver (up to 123 g/T) and uranium (up to 4340 ppm) assays associated with elevated gold (up to 0.275 g/T) and bismuth (up to 0.17%) assays.

* All grab samples with the exception of samples 5, 6 & 14 are chip samples over 0.5, 0.4 & 0.55 metres respectively. Samples were collected from 2006 through 2011.
A second large target, 500 metres to the north, is outlined by a 2 kilometre long, 500 metre wide IOCG style alteration zone which includes magnetite, hematite, sericite and chlorite. This zone contains high copper (up to 40.2%) silver (up to 1129 g/T), uranium (up to 3099 ppm) and gold up to (0.635 g/T) values. The IP over this target forms a narrower east-west trending anomaly that extends for at least 600 metres and is open at either end due to lack of surveying. The geochemical values and alteration patterns show this to be a target worthy of further follow-up work.

Grab samples were collected from 2006 through 2011.
Further interpretation and modeling of the IP data to better define drill targets is underway. Currently a 2500 metre program is recommended for Hepburn.
The Hepburn target lies within the Great Bear Magmatic Zone which is considered one of Canada’s most prospective IOCG terrains. The NICO and Sue-Dianne deposits are local examples of IOCG deposits within the Great Bear Magmatic Zone. Other world examples include Olympic Dam, Ernest Henry, Candelaria and Manto Verde deposits (see our website www.diamondsnorth.com for estimated size and grades of these IOCG deposits).
Graham Gill (P. Geo) is Diamonds North’s qualified persons as defined by National Instrument 43-101, reviewing this project.
All samples collected in 2011 were shipped in sealed containers and processed at the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) Geoanalytical Laboratories, which is an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory for mineral analysis testing. Samples were analyzed using SRC’s Uranium Exploration ICP Package, which includes uranium by total digestion ICP-OES analyses and uranium by partial digestion ICP-OES analyses. All samples having more than 1,000 ppm uranium were assayed using a uranium assay dissolution procedure. SRC is accredited by the QMI Quality Registrars to ISO 9001:2000, and by the Standards Council of Canada to ISO 17025. A standard aqua-regia digestion and ICP-AES package was used on all samples. Ore grade assays were analyzed by Atomic Absorption.

I made a quick call to DDN to Troy this is what I got...It was around the first week of Dec..
If this helps spoke to Troy a couple of weeks ago; the only questions I ask was about the Esker property, the response I got was we are still waiting for results (any day now) lab is backed up.
As for drilling the plan now is early spring, I tried to get a more fixed date more or less--- around early march if possible.
I guess all depends on results I guess but he did sound positive about the property.
But you guys know how these conversations turn out-- maybe yes maybe no.
More patience I guess
Large volume on Friday???
over 1 million traded on the TSX
over 250 thousand on the Alpha Exc..
Any one know how many were traded here in the US ???

Subject: Drilling Whalesback and Little Deer?
Good morning John
Hope the holidays were not to stressing.lol
Was wondering how drilling is going on the Whalesback and if we can expect results soon.
Also John when drilling starts on Little Deer will you be using 2 drills or 1 and do you have a rough idea when this may start?
As per your NR on financing do you plan on drilling the Lebel property and the Stirling this winter or will you wait for summer?
Thanks John
*******************
*********************
We finished a couple of shallow holes on Whalesback before Xmas and just started back drilling yesterday after the Xmas break. Don’t anticipate having any release until we finish at least a couple more holes on Whalesback – three weeks.
We intend to complete most of our initial Whalesback program before we do too much at Little Deer. If our ideas at Whalesback turn out --- we should be able to generate shallow, cheaper tonnes at Whalesback. When we start back at Little Deer we will use two drills –either two at Little Deer or more likely one at Whalesback and one at Little Deer.
We would like to drill Lebel this winter with the Stirling later this summer – we still have more field work to do at Stirling even though we have three – four good targets already.
John
intomoney--no it is pronounce as in ""HEAD"" St(h)ead hopes this helps
THR--News Out
This good news for CGP as now THR has the money to fund their portion of the drilling on Little Deer and Whalesback. Lets hope that we get the drilling started as soon as possible. They are drilling the Whalesback as we speak; I hope that they don't wait for that program to finish before they start Little Deer.

News Out!!!! :(
This is sad NR; IMO Glen set up Cornerstone Resources and moved this company forward from day one. It was his business knowledge and smarts. He chose the peoples who were best for the job at hand and it was through his leadership that got CGP where it is today. Thanks Glen:) Cheers..
Now we have Brooke running the show; IMO. Never had a face to face with Brooke, but several conversations since he was placed in charge some months ago; his direction is strong and firm even though it is different than Glens, which is not a bad thing lets see how CGP unfolds in 2012. Cheers to all.

That is only words on paper, and if you believe that then I guess a hand shake should be enough. lol lol
Sure Canada gave VALE a loan why not. The newfie government forced them to process the oar there. So the government should invest in there country.
But when it comes to ""TRUST"" not in a split second that loan comes with a whole lot of fine print. Such as if you don't do this we will take that so on and so on.
You will not find any where in that agreement about trust, it is a business agreement.
The government that is in power today may not be there tomorrow andthe same as with VALE people in power to day may not be there tomorrow.
Nope not ""TRUST""
Big Volume on Friday!!!
A lot of volume on Friday on the TSX over 2 mil. Lets hope that someone heard a rumor on the drilling results from Ecuador. Those holes should be finished by now, it is over a month since the NR stating that drilling has started and they started a few days before they put out that NR.
Also it would be good to keep an eye on THRs drilling of the Whalesback next to the Little Deer property, with added copper it will be a much nicer target for a buy out. In the next few weeks I am hoping that CGP & THR will start drilling in early January on the Little Deer again to bring the inferred resource over into the indicated side of the equation, which will make the deposit more attractive. With 50,000 + meters drilled so far and more drilling on going and more on the way in 80 plus holes this property will be a pay ouy for sure. These 2 properties are getting to point now that they are starting to attract attention for a major. Keep your eyes and ears open.
Project Overview from THR web site.
Ownership Thundermin and 50% joint venture partner Cornerstone Resources Inc. own a 100% interest in the Little Deer Copper Deposit and adjoining property. Thundermin has the right to increase its interest to 75% by completing a feasibility study and by arranging 100% of mine financing.

Drilling is the best time no drilling no money it is as simple as that. And if the properties that you drilled are not up to par then it will be harder to raise funds; a few good holes or even 1 good hole you have no problem to raise money, man you don't even have to leave home they come knocking on your door.lol
As far as permits it is very easy to get permits in Newfie for drilling it isnot a problem, but if you try and go behind the government back you are asking for problems. Anyway the drillers will not even sign or start a program with out the permit!
alan I agree it is good to interest a major, but we need a lot of good results and not teasers you are dealing with majors and those guys know their job.
As far as HC goes we need another drill program there the first one is only good for directing you to the next one and nothing else the results from the first one no major would touch and I ask several CEO and GEO'S I know and we need more drilling, period!!
In the area that KATX or BVIG has the properties there are a lot of small communities around and every person knows every body else; these are not big cities but small towns some with any where from 50 people to 3000 people. Most all of these peoples have small cabins in the wooded area around these claims and all claims and only 2 small lane roads. People are always in the woods cutting fire wood or hunting or fishing or just away for a few days. You can't bring a drill rig down in those areas and some one not see them impossible. Any strang person in the area stands out like a sore thumb and the people are not shy there they will ask you what you are doing. Also Vale and any drill rigs or company vehicle have the company name proudly displayed all over them.
I agree Pro it is not looking good for sure.
Kinda puts a sour taste in your mouth when we see things like this happen.
I don't get involved as deep as you guys do with the paper work. I always look for drilling and signs of drilling on the property you know geos in the area, drill rigs in the area. this is very hard to cover up easy to see and every body talks.
hahahahah lol haahh What is a ""TEASER HOLE""", You are only joking right???
Vale drilled no holes so far not one single one... nadda nadda nadda ZERO
Funding is indeed the problem if they had funding the drills would be in the ground. It is that simple!!
HA HA lol Balony concentrate LOL
When you open that site for VALE what is the first thing you see
Long Harbour Commercial Nickle Processing Plant.
I guess right now we are waiting for news to drill HC or RR.
But the problem I have now, I have no shares in KATG all my holding I have is in KATX, so the question is if KATX goes under can I claim a tax lost or should I sell before that happens.
Should of got out with elcheepo
Bingo you got that right. lol lol hahaah
The only thing that matter's in any company is drilling and only drilling, if a company don't drill and find new properties to drill nothing will happen to SP simple as that, you can argue over all the other stuff all you want it will mean nothing if that drill is not in the ground.
Right now KATX and KATG and VALE are not drilling in NL simple as that.
Nope Wrong
Hydromet Plant for Long Harbour
Hydromet Process for Long Harbour Plant
The Government of Newfoundland Labrador announced on November 12, 2008 that Vale Inco NL will be constructing a commercial hydromet plant at Long Harbour. Vale Inco notified government that they will be using the hydromet process instead of the traditional matte refinery. Hydromet processing involves using water-based chemical treatment to extract nickel from the concentrate and refining it to finished nickel. The traditional matte plant would see concentrate from Voisey's Bay shipped to Ontario or Manitoba for processing before being refined at Long Harbour.
