SHLD down because of spinoff of LE
Great board here guys, I have been "investing" for a long time, but trading for only a short while, and have really learned a lot.
Lee, I like your take on options. I have been a net seller of options over the years rather than a buyer. I have used the covered call strategy with good success over the years but have not been as successful using it with ATM Leaps. If a stock runs too fast early on, you end up in a difficult situation where you have to buy back the front month at a loss or abandon the trade at a loss. How do you handle that situation? Also what is your selection process in which kind of stocks you utilize this trade with?
DOW +55
One of the craziest thing about all this is that poster seesaw on SA and YMB basically called the three highest dollar frauds (RINO, CCME, and YONG [not definite on YONG but sure is trading like one]) way back when all 3 were flying high. He consistently and adamantly stated all were frauds without giving any real discernible reason. I thought he was just a rambling idiot, but turns out if you had shorted based on his call you would be filthy rich. Does anyone have any insight into who this guy really is?
MMT, continues to be undervalued, what will be next catalyst for the stock?
CDE finally correcting
I didnt get a reply. I sent you another email just now.
Hi Yak,
did you get my email?
JVA monster two day run
JVA flying, end of day run
Thanks
JVA--low float on pullback, any thoughts to entry?
The thing is management had the ammunition to blow the shorts out of the water but didn't. That is something the longs were relying on, and some still are. The shorts called managements bluff. What does that tell ya?
Hi Yak,
Can you give me information on how to join the Yak group trading?
Please correct me if I am wrong, but seeing the videos by wctbills it seems that many of the buses have only one screen. Wasn't that one of the MW points of contention about the number of screens per bus? Additionally, how come the GH report has a link to wctbills' postings on Soku? Is he employed by Global Hunter? I am heavily long but I just want to make sure I have my facts straight.
Does anyone think there is a chance we could get a special onetime dividend along with the regular dividend announcement? That would do wonders for the short position.
That's pretty good advice as to trading this stock. However, this is not a trading board. Most of us here are long term investors, and have horizons of years. Our DD tells us that the company is for real (of course 100 percent certainty is impossible in any company). The Citron article is nothing more than rehash from yahoo message boards.
I believe in the long run the share price will reflect the earnings. However, I am disappointed and that the hit piece had as much influence on the immediate share price as it did. Shows you how vulnerable these Chinese small cap stocks can be to fear mongering.
BTW Reg SHO list again tonight

I cant blame management for this. Everyone has to do their DD and having done that, most of us on this board feel very comfortable with the company being legitimate. That some people out there are easily manipulated is not the company's fault. As soon as they start paying the dividend all this FUD will go away, IMO.
What a great opportunity to buy shares of the best company in the CGS space at prices I didn't think we would see again.
Seems like a lot of shorts are being added after the initial covering after the hit piece.
Its funny, every time the stock takes a hit and Fernando is not posting, people think he sold. The pressure it must be to be Fernando, lol.
Thats right, more shares that need to be covered in the next few days. I just hope the pps is not whacked down further by traders and weak longs allowing them to cover at a lower price.
delete double post
Really are any of you surprised at this. The shorts have invested an unreal amount of money on what has generally been a losing proposition, they are not just going to go quietly into the night at this point.
Maybe its the computer I am on, I will try it again when I get home. Wow 700k is a lot, thanks.
Btw, has anyone here used shortsqueeze.com? They claim to get you the short data 1 to 3 days before the official data comes out.
Am i missing something, cause I dont see any 2011 data (to correlate with current Reg SHO list) on the failure to deliver list?

Thanks for the input. I trust the only thing that is required is patience.
Post from YMB:
Dantman and other experienced investors:
Here is my question?
With the stock on the Reg Sho list and no shares to be found to borrow, how does the stock trade 6 million shares and drop 2 dollars?
I guess it possible but don't believe any institutions were selling today. If they had a mind to buy in any quantity, they would hold for a better return and to participate in the short squeeze. IMO
There seem to be many more longs who are holders of the float that is available to trade, and most are in the same boat of seeing better profits and are holding out for better.
Yes, some will surely take profits after yesterday, but not many had a chance to after about an hour into the trading.
Some trading computers will trade the stock back and forth making the same shares that go back and forth look like a lot more, but in reality are the same shares going back and forth. Since the action was mostly down today, that would seem to only account for a small relative amount.
Shorts still need to cover, and there is buying pressure, not selling pressure one would think.
Is it still possible to naked short shares in this stock and in these quantities? What broker would allow it. ?
Where did all the shares come from in what should have been a buying pressure day with not many shares available? Who the hell is selling in these quantities? Are they really just daytraders happy with the small gains from yesterday? Surely they know a probable short squeeze is on?
To see this kind of volume for a stock in this situation go down when the buying pressure should continually be up makes no logical sense. Obviously, I am wrong, because it did happen.
So, I would love to hear from more experienced traders who have been around that would like to explain todays phenomena. I appreciate the insight you may give me.
Thanks in advance.
"Inquiring minds want to know"
Disclosure. I own 2500 shares and am holding.
I dont really have an answer to his question. You cant naked short a stock on Reg Sho. I cant believe that institutions would sell out just as a short squeeze is beginning. Could it be possible that so many more legitimate shares were shorted today in the face of all that is going on? I know that a market correction is anticipated but then why not just short the general market/emerging market or weaker CGS stock at this point? I guess after all we have seen, I should know better than try to use logic in understanding how this stock trades. Anyone else have any better insights?
I would add that it is one of the more liquid cgs stocks which is favorable for trading in and out of larger short positions.
I see you didn't pull any punches on the comments of the SA article. Nice, very nice.
Wow thats still a lot of diet coke!!!
How come day after day the pos stocks that dont make any money go up tens of percent while the shorts pile on the good companies like CCME? When I see this, I feel like I am missing some fundamental truth about the stock market. Maybe its just that there are so many traders (including institutional traders) out there for whom fundamentals dont make one lick of a difference.
So any opinion on which rare earth company is the best buy currently? I own a little REE and looking to add another.
There we go the typical walking down of the price. Any opinions on good buy points?
True maybe they were one of the big buyers of low priced October puts that scared everyone into thinking there was an imminent short attack back when we were languishing in the single digits.
