...That's where Ya put the water it!..lol.
Yep, we had 42 one night. I didn't bother tenting, mainly because of the high-winds. We were lucky, everythings fine.
Today as soon as it got 55, I went weeding and planting (About one-whole flat of 'extra' flowers)...a great day for transplanting the more delicate stuff like Canula's. (They always 'flop' right-over like we 'killed' them, the 'lil sissy's!)
Reading a manuscript for my brother, military-thriller-suspense kinda story. Started out a bit 'soft', but when the Marines get busy (OOhRah!) it definitely picks-up.
Much cooler here, managed to get alot of yard/garden stuff going...going back up in the 80's by weekend?..(Or something like that.)
From a man, then to photoshop, then to Girly-Old-Man.
Like they say, what ever floats your boat.
!GAK!
Yum! Shelley doesn't care for beef 'n noodles like I do, but she made a big-Dent in the teriaki-chicken.
Teryaki might be good for fish, it's good on chicken and pork. (And shrimp!)
The bones of the smoked-trout mostly 'hold together'. On the back fillet, no problem...but lower on the 'rib's', be careful!
...I found a dead (Really-stinky) mouse in my first bag. It was covered in mould. It was very HOT that day, (For our area) and I am unaccustomed to the 80's...got a bit over heated.
I haven't made my brine in a long time, but lets see if I can recall.
1/4 cup apple-cider vinegar
1/3 cup packed brown-sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 clove minced garlic
2 teaspoon onion-powder
2 teaspoon of black-pepper, cracked whole peppercorns or 1 teaspoon fresh-ground.
...For 'True' smoking, brine at least 8-12 hours, do not rinse and smoke 'em slooow. fish is cooked when it 'Breaks' instead of 'Bending' when lifted with fork or tongs.
I'm not a big Fan of trout, but brined correctly and done with applewood in a 'smokey-joe'..tastes mighty-fine.
On I took one to a church-picnic,...after it was reduced to a skeleton, PPL were still scraping crackers on the skin on the other side.
We have mid-60's and BRIGHTLY-Sunny, works out well for the chores outside. (Light breeze) I picked up some potting soil and red mulch...both on sale. (And the store was like an 'anthill' with PPL.)
Picked up two flats of flower and some in 4"-pots, so Nathan can do some planting while he's over for the weekend. He'll get a charge out of seeing his plants grow and flourish, each time he comes back to visit.
Back was better today, but calling it 'quits' after about 5-hours. A little sore now, not bad..after lifting the 8-bags of mulch and soil.
They were on sale "4 for $10", a good price for both around here.
(Home Depot)
One of my faves for chicken, 'Zesty-Italian' vinegar and oil dressing. It's OK for beef, but better for chicken.

Yep. I've been to our power-plants in/near Milwaukee. Certain times in late summer/early fall, the Brown trout stack up like cordwood at the warm-water discharges! 10 Lbs-er's are common.
I wouldn't take my boat out there, though..too small.
Fish taste better out of cold water.
Working it! I've had offers of 'Help'...but it can't wait forever. I did get help last year. The thing is, had I been able to do it myself..I till several-times (The weed-seeds sprout) to till the weeds under, or I spade/fork them out. The freakin' weeds are horrible.
I'm getting there.
Well, the warmest was 80, but mostly mid-70's. The last few nights it has gotten cold again, mid-40's. It should be getting warmer at night soon.
I been working the garden. (As hard as I can with a screwed-up back, I have NO idea how it got that way.) Shannon is supposed to come monday and help-out...3/4's are already done. Veggies are in, some flower's from seed. Veggie-plants are well established, most seeds have sprouted.
('Cept the one's put in the last 2 days.)
Today, I got about 2-3 hours in before the back locked-up. Got so bad, I'd prepared a chicken (Stuffed) to bake, and Shelley had to put it in the oven for me! ..After I rested abit (And took pills)..it got better and I could check on the chicken myself. (NO pix, sorry...too much going on.)
Nathan is coming for a couple-night stay, I'm going to get some flower-plants, and he can put a few in. Get our fishing rods out and do some 'Casting-Practice'. A little practice, and he should be able to land it on a 'Frisbee' from 30ft out.
Was 45 B-4 dawn, cold-front moved in behind the storms. It was so windy yesterday, couldn't even plant the flower seeds...they would have blown-away.
Going out right this minute to do the sowing.
yep. Getting ready to head out with my trusty (Or is it 'rusty'..) spading-fork to eliminate some quackgrass and creeping-charlie.
For some reason the last couple years those two are really spreading.
The creeping charlie is immune to most broadleaf weedkillers, I heard it takes a combination of three to effectively kill it. (Also heard, big mistake to add it to the compost-pile!..darn.)
Flowers to sow.
And expensive to replace if fired or stolen.
...I'm off to get fuel for the mower, then maybe some flowers and or planter-pots.
Yes indeed, Thanks to God.
My wife is on slowtime (Layoff) from work, thinks she wants to get fresh air, and offered to mow the lawn. Who am I to refuse such a simple request?...I need to line-up some planters, get some flower-plants,...set up the tiller and maybe even find the pruners and hedge-trimmers!
...So,...you want some 'fresh-air', Hey?
Yeah, but she said she had some 'burns' from it. Friction-burns?
They did an ultrasound at the hospital, Sam and the baby are both OK. Aaron's on his way to get her.
...Looking at the current Radar-map, I see just east of us (Less than 2-miles) got the harder rains and winds. Still going to have to keep and eye on this. 60-70mph gusts are in the predictions.
Weather is taking a turn for the worse gusty, rainy. Shelley was supposed to be home around 4-5pm, she's watching grandson Jameson...but is now delayed. Sam (Samantha) got struck by a car making an illegal-turn. Airbags deployed, her car may be totaled...she appears OK, but en route to hospital to get checked, due to her pregnacy. (I Pray she's OK!)
Lazer's upset by the weather, hope it settles down.
Ha! My mom too. It could mean a 'lost-cause' a puny-amount, or a HUGE waste of time.
Thanks. Can't wait to set him on the bigger Bass. Love watching someone's face when they get their first 'Tail-Dancer'.

Shelley would sometimes forget to check the weather for her Work-Location, and then would worry about Hail on her car. It could be really-bad, It has an aluminum-hood..dents easy.
Glad you made it home OK.
Oh that feller was hurting!
Yup.
Shelley is on layoff again. I cashed-out an IRA to pay hospital-bills. Still having some problems of getting/staying online, some storm possibly tonight (and that makes it worse)...But Sunday there may be possibility of tornado warnings. We'll see.
Had to help one of the kids with their minivan today, transmission...but I think I've got it corrected.
Other than those few items, ..Life is good.
...If all 12 plants produce well,..Your gonna need another Freezer!
The heat some of these peppers is getting dangerous.
...I heard 'bout one gal I know (And she eats Habanero's like candy) found out her hubby might not have been spending all his Deer-hunting time , hunting the 4-legged variety.
I really can't describe what took place (In Polite company..) but there was talk of an Assault charge.
Thank you, I'm hoping it'll be a good year for the garden, but I'm more itchin' to see if it'll be a good FISHING-year! Grandson is 7, time to teach that boy how to hook the Biggun's.
The dealer, (No longer in business..) had his 'Best-guy' work on it 5 times. I'm sure his 'best-guy' hadn't any experience with a Borg-Warner T-50 5-speed, they were too new at the time. (Mid-'70's)
Each time it came back to me, it worked poorly and with increasing levels of noise. Ended up getting a lawyer and got them to get the new-parts off a brand new car (Transmission, driveshaft and rear-axle)...I went to their lot and stamped ID-numbers on the old parts, to be sure they replaced them. Then after that was done, I had to fight somemore about replacing the rear tire, damaged with 'flat-spots'.
...Thought I had won a victory, untill I needed the spare tire...Flat with flat spot!(They were out of business by then.) These crooks were the reason I learned to repair my own cars.
Well, see ya's later. Got to check the bird.
