LMAO.. Finally a positive funny post I've read in a while. Thanks!
A special thank you to all that have been working diligently in restoring ExoFlop from HiJack. My hat goes off particularly to Laser & ZTsambis.
To the Rat.. I ain't quitting either..
If he has asked me for help, then why doesn't he contact me directly? Also.. I do not have any financial background, but can discuss about IT related topics with you all day. Unless there is any funding to get the software coded, there isn't a whole lot for any of us to do.
GLTA!
Just out of curiousity, what topics would you like us to touch base on? There doesn't seem to be a whole lot for any of us to do other than to sit and wait.
GLTA
Congrats to both Imgunnaretire & AskMrOwl!!
I go like this "O Lord all Almighty, let wirtz find his gun and shoot himself in his shit hole this morning".
LOL.. is there a prayer at night too? ROFL..
I unfortunately can not make it as I'm from the Los Angeles Area. If you're attending I_M_Bandit, do fill us in on what was presented and if possible some Q&A that were thrown out at the venue. I greatly appreciate it.
GLTA
Good to hear from you again Eagle1. As much as I would love to attend, I agree that this venue that Scott is setting up will definitely be an interesting one. I greatly greatly appreciate Scott for reaching out to discuss events happening behind the scene. I hope this will dissolve questions, concerns & uncertainties that most Shareholders have.
Keep the faith brother!
"Of course, I asked that question at the January coffee and the answer was that Scott and others had tried that and they wanted us to just give all royalties over to them and of course, we couldn't do that."
Hey Napper, was our government asking for royalties or free lifetime licensing? If it's free licensing, at this point in time with the current situation, I'd say give it to them.
Good Luck to all!
Hi Jack! There isn't much to tickle with at the moment, which is why I have remained silent for months now. The real obstacle at this point is funding to continue forward with product development. As far as the product Exobox does not have, which one are you referring to? The Bullet-Proof AV Solution?
I'm patiently waiting for the next PR. I'll be honest, I'm beginning to lose a bit of it, which is why I just walk away and go about my normal life. The situation is what it is. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, as well as decisions that they need to also make. Are you in? Or you out? We are all here to contribute our DD the best we can.
Is it just me or coincidence that your name (not you) appears as the most recent followers of Tony Mason on Twitter. Of all names.. And of all times right after you posted this. LOL..
In response to: "Just mad 'cause he didn't pick me!!"
If your referring to the AV SUEZ technology, it is going to be coded at the kernel level of windows. It eventually we be ported out to other operating systems.
The working demo that some have mentioned that Reggie & Scott scrapped up on a machine, is running on the application level or layer. The goal is to get the Secure Environmental Product coded at the kernel level. This is where OSR steps in as they are the guru on this area.
I concurr with everything you have said readytolive. I would be thrilled to have Exobox's solution offered on the market. The current AV offerings are all junk. Literally, garbage!
GLTA
Interesting Tweet from Exobox on 2/24/10. "We're looking forward to meeting folks at RSA next week!"
I wonder what they will be discussing about during their meeting. HM...
Let's not also forget another major player that validated Exobox's Technology - NIST (National Institute Standard of Technology).
I sure hope you're right ucant. And if you aren't, so be it. It has been one heck of a "roller-coaster" ride experience. IMO.. the best is yet to come. It seems like there are lots of concerns from some of the posters here, and I'm sure the next few PR will help clear up those concerns.
I greatly appreciate your DD & post here. Keep it rolling. Thanks brother! IMO.. good times ahead. =)
Quite frankly with how big the internet really is, there is literally no way to secure it 100%. When discussions about Software being in the cloud is thrown in discussion, security is the number 1 hurdle that everyone discusses about. Once outside of the protected network, it is beyond your control. Even with tight security, "insiders" can also leak information out there.
Depending on which part of the infrastructure or information you are trying to secure, there are a variety of solutions that exist out there today.
* As far as viruses goes, the current technology is reactive and only knows the file or content is a virus when it's told so. This is the reason why you must always download the newest virus definitions to get protected. There is no "true" proactive solution out there right now.
* DLP (Data Leak Prevention) has been in the market for some time, but the problem with the current offerings is the cost associated with implementing & deploying this type of solution. It also must be modified to differentiate a legitament file/content & ones that are not. There is a lot of cost associated in tweaking it to reduce false-positive results.
* DLD (Data Leak Detection)"in the wild". There is not a solution offered currently for this section that I know of.
As far as the advertisment on TV goes, manufacturers are looking at newer techniques in improving security product offers, but none state they are "bullet-proof".
I have not seen the product first hand, but many on this board contributing have. The product is indeed real.
Hey Kube!
Sensitive data leaks out some way some how and usually through a disgruntled employee. When companies hire employees, they have put the trust on the employees based on the principle of ethics. Some either do it intentionally for personal gains or accidently not knowingly (human error factor). If information is accessible through a web portal, there could also be a security hole that was not plugged.
This is where Exobox comes in. The truth of the matter is, Companies aren't willing to invest on something like ExoDetect, unless data has already been breached in prior events that costed them dearly or even the possibility of bankrupty. The ones that usually invest on something like ExoDetect are large Enterprises. With the adoption of Governance Regulations, such as SOX, HIPPA, PHI, etc.. makes the ExoDetect stellar.
ExoDetect searches the web for data leaks. ExoWatch test the security of a corporate website and portals for vulnerabilities & alert administrators to plug the security hole. Nice packages. I would feel 100x happier if ExoEnvironmental gets launched soon. =)
Honestly, to see an Exobox Commercial on the Superbowl would be like 2 years from now. How much is a 20 min. commercial on the Superbowl? =) I don't think Exo was planning to use all of their $3 million on advertising on the Superbowl.
Hi Harvey,
I really don't see how Exobox, advertising its PR is piss poor. As much as we would like "big names" attached to our company, it really isn't possible unless Exobox gets the approval from it's client. I see their PR as a way of communicating to investors out there. I'd rather have a PR that is not fluff, informing me of what is going on rather than being left in the "dark" not knowing what really is happening with this investment.
Why do you assume that the company isn't confident in their current product offerings? Is it simply because they did not announce the client? To me it isn't relevant, as long as they are pumping out revenues to cover their current expenses. Exobox is in dire need of funding to not only cover it's obligations, but to push forward in coding & marketing of their entire SECURE suite product line. Recall from the last meeting that $3 million in funding would be allocated into marketing their products. I'm sure you'll see something by then.
I would also like to mention that since the October 2009 announcement of Exobox closing it's doors, Exobox pretty much lost some potential clients. Those that were interested were waiting to see if Exobox would still remain around & stay afloat to operate it's business. No company would want to dump money on a product that won't be supported or be around tomorrow. I'm sure Sam VR went through mad hurdles in convincing clients & channel partners that Exobox is on board to stay.
The real question is whether or not Exobox can get the funding it needs to stay afloat & continue foward in coding & marketing all of its proposed Technolgy offerings. IMO.. I think they will.
Great Find! HM.. I noticed on the interview that Kampa mentioned Exobox has (2) patents approved & (17) pending. I was under the impression that (2) were approved & (20) pending. There seems to be a discrepancy on the # of patents pending.
It's interesting that Kampa mentioned licensing their technology to Symantec. Although, they have not been in contact w/ them, it's quite interesting to hit up a "competitor".
Just my 2 cents.
Any company out there will gladly take you as a client as long as you have $$ to pay for the product or service they offer. That's revenue to them.
Interesting Takes from all sides. It looks like I have to agree w/ all opinions, including Rumple here. If the mountain isn't climbed, the inevitable will happen. Whatever that may be - patents sold, Exo closed, etc.. I sincerely hope Kampa will get us the funding he clearly stated - GUARANTEE!!.
GLTA.
Still around and I can't comment much on the outcome of the Meeting as I could not attend. I have watched all the YouTube video, but as most have stated lots of content were edited out. I don't know much about Financials, but I believe in the Exobox Products from the day it was introduced to me and still at this very moment.
I highly applaud Ucant's efforts, reports, and opinions. Good Job, Bro! As many have stated here, there are lots of uncertainties that lies ahead, but I am liking & very excited that they indeed have a plan and are executing it. I feel comfortable & confident in the new Team that is going to get us to the finish line.
Just some question to all those that attended the meeting:
Q1.) Did Scott demo the Secure Environmental Application? Or did he just do a powerpoint presentation of some sort?
I know someone mentioned on the previous post that Scott had the codes written up at the application layer and that they needed OSR to get this coded at the kernel level. Thanks again! And GLTA
very well said ucant. You have clearly followed this investment very closely. Wow! Go Ucant!
Great Work, Ucant!!
3 months info is pretty current. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that info? Mr. Kampa stepped in about 6-7 weeks ago, so it's still a possibility that plans did change.
Merry Christmas, I_M_Bandit! =)
Based on I M Bandit's info, there is no way they can produce the AV product (module 5) & make it ready to be marketed in 12-15 months from now. If that information is valid, it will take them approximately 2.5 - 4 years before the AV product is launched.
I believe that info he retrieved is old information from the white papers. As per Mr. Kampa's WS interview, he repeated at least 3 times that they will code & make the AV product ready to be marketed in 12-15 months. I think they are putting modules 2-4 in the back burner for now and moving full steam ahead w/ module 5. When he emphasized "to be marketed", I understood it as a finished product, which means alpha/beta testing completed by that time.
HM.. something ucantfoolme might inquire about. My heart stop beating for a minute when I read that. I appreciate everyone's DD here. Merry Christmas, everyone!!
Very well said once again.. Thanks Mr. Owl.
Assuming that when the AV product gets launched and it does what it state it does, it will definately change the entire industry forever. If it does what he state it does, IT will unglue themselves from Symantec, McAfee & TrendMicro within a heartbeat. Why? 70% of downloader viruses are caught & quarantined by the AV product, but still manages to excecute it's payload, making the existing AV product lines useless. If you look at the top 10 AV products, none of the big hitters are listed. There has never been a demand greater for a "superior" AV product than now. The epidemic is only going to get worse. The number of viruses created in 2008 alone exceeded the number of viruses created from 2003-2007 combined.
GL to all!
That's correct NDebt.. Even though there are products on the market that already exist for Data Leak Prevention, there is no such product that exist for Data Leak Detection. The downfall to all this is that Data Leak Products are still currently at the maturing stage. Even with the hype, the honest reality is that not many companies' are deploying this type of solution. The reason is that they are not "aware" of such a product exist. Another reason is that IT staffs are soo glued to Companies like Symantec, McAfee or TrendMicro as they have years of expertise, reputation, and excellent support. No IT will sign a contract for a company that may not exist tomorrow. Support is "key" when it comes to purchasing hardware or software. And the final reason is that this economy has slashed IT resources to literally $0 budget to spend.
Personally, I like the ExoWatch product more than the ExoDetect product. ExoDetect is definately geared towards Enterprise Level Corporations, while ExoWatch is geared towards any corporation that has a website out there. I'm very excited about Exobox moving forward with plans on developing the AV product. I think I can speak for everyone here.. "It's the very reason why I invested in the first place..." Once the AV product launches, I figure that by then the Data Leak Products would fully mature. Then off to the islands. =) GL everyone.
P.S. I greatly appreciate everyone's DD here. It sure saved me a lot of time from googling.
Agreed.. from the sounds of what he layed out, I am fairly confident this is the AV product.
"We firmly believe that Exobox will establish a leadership position in the IT Security industry utilizing our patent pending SecureTM technology which secures all endpoints of an organization’s infrastructure, utilizing our patented approach which we believe to be fundamentally different and superior to existing technologies in the market today.
I surely hope they can pull this off. It ain't over until the fat lady sings.
I appreciate your positive thinking. With everything going on, who can blame the pissed off investors venting at this very moment? I choose to remain quiet, as there is nothing "positive" coming from the company. However, having them re-start everything all over again vs permenantly closing their doors is something I should consider as positive news.
I'm in the same boat as everyone else here. I just choose not to vent here. As they say.. "It ain't over until the fat lady sings.." & I don't see here anywhere. I appreciate your efforts CutAbove. =) Have a good one bro!
Gobble.. Gobble.. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Wow.. I disappeared for 2 weeks and lots of happened since then. Have a Safe Turkey Day!! =)
Amen to that brother. I couldn't have said it any better. Other than getting Gary & Ted back, I really would like an addition to the team to get the AV product launched. Patience is a virtue, and I'm liking the PR released lately. GLTA.
IMO.. I don't see how Ted (CTO) ran the company out of money. His role was not involved in managing the money at all. I acknowledge that he is an expense, but nothing more than that.
Agreed..
Data leakage prevention (DLP) seems to have been one of the hottest sectors of the IT security industry for the last three years. Yet despite good growth rates, adoption has not lived up to the hype; it's unclear how much value customers are receiving and the overall market remains small. Every organization has confidential data and there have been numerous high-profile instances of data being disclosed inappropriately, so what's going on?
Let's start with the data. There are basically two types of data to be secured:
1. The intellectual property (IP) of the business –- designs, source code, plans, etc.
2. Personally identifiable information (PII) about individuals –- employees, customers, patients, etc.
Abuse can also be split into two categories:
1. Accidental disclosure –- USB stick dropped in the street.
2. Theft –- usually by a user with authorized access to the data.
Finally, why care?
1. Loss of competitive advantage
2. Damage to reputation
3. Regulatory penalties
URL: http://www.scmagazineus.com/DLP-Hype-vs-reality/article/149815/
Noticed I bolded regulatory penalities? This indicates that the adoption of DLP/DLD is going to boom, by force due to regulations. You have no choice, plus the added bennfits of securing confidential data. Incidents of loss of data is being reported at alarming rates by top organizations - fortune 500, 1000, Universities, Ford, etc. DLP is a very hot topic, very expensive to implement & very difficult to implement as well. There's lot of "false-postive" results if not implemented correctly, which is why it cost so damn much to deploy. It's slowly gaining market traction. =)
The loss of data will cost more damage to the company than an AV Solution. However, a bullet-proof AV is very solid to me as well. I love all of the proposed Exobox Solution. KickAss!!

House bill seeking government P2P ban gets boost
Tiversa gives House committee 200 new examples of P2P leaks of U.S. secret data
URL: http://www.infoworld.com/d/networking/house-bill-seeking-government-p2p-ban-gets-boost-572
Data Leak is top priority w/ the government! Enough to start up a bill? =)
LOL.. what am I supposed to do? Short-stacked & I have the blind. I'm ALL-IN!! Deuce, Threce Suited-Connectors. My odds are still good. ROFL.. Full-Tilt!!! I hope I don't get rivered on. Seriously! Pot Size looks great though. =)
Most pirated software, music & movies are distributed via P2P (Peer-to-Peer) Networks, such as BitTorrent, Utorrent, Ares, LimeWire, BearShare, etc. The old method (still active) is distributed via IRC (Internet Relay Chat). FYI.. government agencies are off-limits from IRC, as Bill Clinton signed a Bill passed in 1993.
It was mentioned by someone here, that someone talked to Ted Ernest directly at the previous mixer (June 30 Mixer) that Ted said they were developing a similiar product that is based on their Data Leak Detection Software that is specifically aimed at the P2P Networks. This was not announced by the company, but someone here credible specifically stated his/her conversation regarding this matter. If this is the case, which I think it is very possible, companies such as Microsoft, Sony, DreamWorks, etc. would be customers of such products in pursuing thieves in distribution of intellectual property.
If ExoDetect can find data leaks on web-blogs, including IP Address, date/time, etc. of the person who posted it, they will be able to find the author who is distributing files on the P2P networks. If you ever used BitTorrent or uTorrent, you will know that Exobox's technology makes it very possible for their bots to track. =)
To answer your question.. there is a huge demand for a Anti-Virus that is bullet-proof. 2008 alone had more viruses created than 2003-2007 combined. The problem is only going to get worse. There is nearly 2 million viruses on the database. I had a discussion w/ my Company's IT Consultant and he's telling me the same thing I've experienced, he gets more calls out for cleaning & eradicating viruses. None of the AV solution he recommends & deploys to 150 of his clients (Small-Medium Businesses) caught the virus. 70% of downloader viruses are detected by AV & cleaned, but the viruses still manage to be active & does its malicious purpose of what the author had programmed it to do. We're implementing a IDS (Intrusion Detection System) on our firewall to mitigate that problem with viruses leaving & coming in our network, esentially nuking it.
What sets Exobox's AV solution different from other AV products already on the market is that it is a proactive solution & not a reactive solution. All AV products on the market currently need a virus definition update to tell the AV software when it's scanning your computer that the file is a virus. In other words, with a reactive solution, a AV software does not know that the file on your computer is a virus, unless it's being told that it is a virus. This is why your AV constantly performs updates. Without these updates, these AV products are useless. Generally to get a patch fix (virus definition), it takes these AV companies anywhere between 24-36 hours after a release of a virus to get a fix out to customers. This leaves your computer in a vulnerable state until a virus signature or definition is released & updated on your AV Software.
From the whitepapers I read by Exobox, produced by OSR, Exobox's solution is essentially a virtualization of your Operating System. Once infected, all you have to do is turn-off or reboot your machine to be virus free. =) Virtualization is the hottest talked about topic in the IT realm. Sharepoint is another, but we won't discuss about that. Because of Exobox's AV Solution, there is no need for an update definition ever. You only need to install the Software & forget about it. This a "proactive" solution & not a reactive solution. If you ever used VMware, you will know what I'm talking about.
Data Leak is another hot topic. It is government regulated to be SOX, PHI, DSS, etc. compliant. With government regulations, adoptions of such data leak products is top priority. Not to mention, that companies are losing huge money on data loss, due to data thief.
TO be honest with you, the reason I invested in this company in the first place is because of the bullet-proof, no update ever AV product. However, I really like the Data Leak Products just as much. =)
LOL.. you feeling alright Pete? I catch you talking to yourself & suggesting shareholders ill-confident to sell their shares more than once. LOL.. I think I can really get used to the *NEW "Pete". LOL...
