Quite frankly with how big the internet really is, there is literally no way to secure it 100%. When discussions about Software being in the cloud is thrown in discussion, security is the number 1 hurdle that everyone discusses about. Once outside of the protected network, it is beyond your control. Even with tight security, "insiders" can also leak information out there.

Depending on which part of the infrastructure or information you are trying to secure, there are a variety of solutions that exist out there today.
* As far as viruses goes, the current technology is reactive and only knows the file or content is a virus when it's told so. This is the reason why you must always download the newest virus definitions to get protected. There is no "true" proactive solution out there right now.
* DLP (Data Leak Prevention) has been in the market for some time, but the problem with the current offerings is the cost associated with implementing & deploying this type of solution. It also must be modified to differentiate a legitament file/content & ones that are not. There is a lot of cost associated in tweaking it to reduce false-positive results.
* DLD (Data Leak Detection)"in the wild". There is not a solution offered currently for this section that I know of.

As far as the advertisment on TV goes, manufacturers are looking at newer techniques in improving security product offers, but none state they are "bullet-proof".

I have not seen the product first hand, but many on this board contributing have. The product is indeed real.
