HE DID IT AGAIN
While the Galu gang was sliding down the rocks, frolicking in the water and eating chocolate brownies, Russell was putting himself one step closer to the million dollars doing what he does better than anybody in the history of this game… finding another HIDDEN immunity idol without the help of a clue.
You need not waste any time responding to this blog about how I give Russell too much credit. I won’t respond. Nobody has ever done what he is doing. So smart and so obvious when you think about it. Of course the idol has to be somewhere that is somewhat easy to find, because we want it to found. If we hid it in the middle of nowhere people wouldn’t find it even with 20 clues. We just have never had anybody take the initiative to start looking without the clue. It’s really quite brilliant. Like it or not, the pirate with the missing tooth continues to reinvent the game.
Come on, just admit it – Russell is growing on you a little bit, right?
I’m still shaking my head because in many ways it reminds me of Richard Hatch in season one. It’s as though the rest of the players are playing a different game. It certainly doesn’t mean he’ll win or even make it to the end but there is no denying he is playing a different game than anybody else.
INSIGHT: While we’re on the subject of hidden immunity idols. A lot of people have been asking me why I have not been asking “If anybody has the idol and you want to play it now is the time to do so…” before I read the votes. Here’s why – this season the clues have all been secretive. So there is no way for me to be certain that everybody knows there is an idol in play. Therefore, I can never ask for them to play it at tribal council because I might be giving something away.
That is why every Survivor is told before the game begins that regardless whether I ask for it or not, if they want to play the idol I will always pause before reading the votes giving them ample time to stand up and declare their intention to play it.

As far as people thinking the show is rigged, this is from Jeff Probst’s blog last night…

Russell is hands down one of, if not the best player to ever play Survivor.
I'm watching with my wife, and say there is NO WAY he finds the idol again.
Then you are wondering if Natalie tipped off the others, and whether he would play the idol or not. The faces the other tribe made were priceless.
He has been quite the character. Pouring out everyone's water early on was down right despicable, mean, and just plain unbelievable.
Finding the idol without any clue was I think the best survivor moment in the show's history.
Now, how many Russell wannabes will be coming to the show down the road?
I think he would be on the all star short list just because of his play so far, he is quite the character, I crack up when he calls everyone else a bunch of dumbasses.......
I believe it came out at tribal council, or before, that he had shown the idol to numerous people. They will now be talking to each other and realize he has promised the same thing to them all. His credibility (we all know, he never had any) is gone.
It was one of the best episodes of the year, the 5 minutes of TV time before they went to tribal was great TV.
I've got to believe Russell is the next to go, now that he played the idol.
The others will be talking and find out all the back door stuff he's been doing and realize he needs to go.
The only hope for Russell of course is to win immunity......

I found this site, having my wife download this now, crossing fingers................
My kid's computer has been infected with Virtumonde Trojan, pop ups, has really hijacked the machine.
I have run SpyBot Search and Destroy,Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, and Avast Scans.
They have all found the trojans, and they look like they are gone, and then they come back.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bob
Really like all your pictures. Thanks.

I would love to, except I would pay $2000 more for the same quality window somewhere else.
I'm getting a "little" pissed off at Home Depot at his point.
I ordered replacement windows from HD on July 11th, they gave me an arrival date of 7/26. I called on 7/26, 7/28, 7/29, 7/31, 8/1, 8/2, and again today. Each time I was told they just weren't in yet. Today, I was told the order was canceled and had to be reordered, no reason why as of yet.
I went into Home Depot on July 9th in the evening with my measurements, that were done by the contractor I have hired to install the windows. They gave me a quote that was good until 7/10.
I ordered this American Craftsman window:
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100095028&N=10000003+90401+500324+4248
That night there happened to be a free upgrade to the 9500 series.
Notice the $185 price includes grills and screens. When we started out, I pulled my chair around so I could view his computer screen. He pulls up the 8500 and it reads $260. I asked him if he had internet access and would he go to the HD website, where he then saw the $185 price. Okay, now we agree on $185 and the free upgrade to the 9500. You needed to have 5 of one size to get the upgrade, but I told the guy, I can't install some 8500's and some 9500, so after some prodding he agreed to the free upgrade on all 23 windows. This quote was then supposed to go to the "pro" desk for a possible further contractor's discount.
They told my contractor to call back the next day, for the total, except they hadn't even worked it on yet, call back on Friday the 11th. He calls them Friday morning, and they say no further discount because basically I had beat them down as far as they would go. He calls me Friday afternoon to give me this news.
I go into Home Depot Saturday morning at 10AM, and I am told quote has expired, and free upgrade is no longer valid because it is not in the system anymore. My widows are going to cost me $2000 more. I explain, that pro desk wasn't ready with quote and I am here the next morning after getting info from contractor. About 1PM, after back and forth and talking with store manage who says he can not honor the quote, I convince them they have to and I pay by credit card.
Further updates to follow............
May you rest in peace.
You were a most giving person.

So is that dryer drying?
Why, yes, it is now drying like a champ.
It was the heating element. I did go and pick up the multi meter at Radio Shack for $17. That confirmed it. The element was $63 at Sears, but I have a B-I-L who does HVAC and he let me use his discount at a electrical parts house, so I got it for $42. So the total including the $12 thermal fuse I did not need, (lol) and new flexible dryer venting, was $90. Sure beats a $300 new dryer.
Thanks for EVERYONE'S help.
Regards,
Bob
I'm planning on pulling it out tonight to inspect it.
Thanks,
Bob
Phil:
I understand that, that is why I put <gg>, meaning smiles, or giggles, or lol, in the email.
Sorry it did not translate,

How much is that?
$20?
<gg>
Just looked:
EDIT:
$30
I saved $18 <gg>
http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=continuity%20tester&origkw=continuity...
excel and jersey;
I replaced the thermal fuse, and it still doesn't dry. I didn't check to see if it was bad because it was only $12.
Going to check the heating element next, and if that doesn't do it, I'm thinking new dryer for $300 as opposed to service call for close to $200.

Thank you very much for your help.

Thanks.
Can you explain?
My wife was on the phone with Sears, they are running a special today, normally just to come out is $65, but for $195 today only, that charge will cover the visit and any repair costs, PLUS an additional year of coverage. We can have someone out there next week between the hours of 8-5PM
Oh thank you for that small window.........
Fortunately she told them no thanks....
That was the first thing I checked.........<gg>
Thank you, it does look easy enough......famous last words.....
Electric.
My wife had load of clothes in there and an hour later, still wet, and very cool inside the dryer, definitely not heating.
I have a Kenmore dryer. about 5 years old.
It runs fine, but just stopped heating.
What is most likely cause? Thermal Fuse?
Thanks in advance,
Bob
THAT was an excellent post.

Bob
Leland Cyprus.
Very fast growing
I'm not an expert on when to plant, but I would guess you should wait until spring.
here's a google search:
Question: I live in the Sandhills of NC zone seven. I want to plant Leyland cypress for privacy border. When would be the best time? How far apart. What type of fertilizer? Any instructions would be helpful. Thanks, Dee
Hi Dee, I hope that the Leyland Cypress will be planted a long way from your house. Do you know that they can grow to 40 ft? If that is okay with you than go ahead and plant them as soon as you can. Like any other transplant, be sure and dig the hole twice as big as the rootball. Fertilizer can be sprinkled in the hole, covered with a couple of inches of dirt before placing the plant in and then placed in the hole and watered well after. They will grow to their hearts content.
