Glad you are listening and doing well.
But the season is fast upon us, so you better just stay in the gift shop until after Christmas and return in January. Good Luck!!
Did you notice management has increased their interest 50% from what it was last year. Up to 17% now! That makes it about 87% in pro-management hands!!! Life is good!!!
Perhaps you should consider a mutual fund.
Your statements are patently not true. While I am not a trader myself, I do know people who have done very well just buying and selling at the right time. If you go back into Don Winner's archive you will find several articles over the years explaining that this stock is very easy to predict and as such is excellent for trading.
The idea is to buy low, sell high, and never fail to lock in your profits. Obviously you have not done so and really should consider letting someone else manage the money you have left.
The other way is to use DCA and make money long term. I have explained how to do that several times and you can just run the numbers yourself to see how profitable that has been over the last ten years.
Now you are criticizing the filings that will be on SEDAR late Monday night convinced that the news will be bad and that nothing good will come of this company's investments. You will note that management does not share your perception and has increased its holdings from 12% to 17% over the last year. Perhaps they have a better concept about the future. To sit there in the deep hole you have dug for yourself and do nothing to help yourself is just not healthy. Even when the stock again climbs to its earlier point you will have gained nothing but a lost opportunity to better your life.
That is totally false and you know it.
1. The filings have already be submitted.
2. If for some reason they had not been filed, then there would have been granted and automatic extension there for the asking.
This is routine and even PTQ has done this in the past.
3. In no circumstance would there be a trading halt.
Why do you post things that you know to be false?
Of course you are correct.
There never has been any correlation. But then, one would have to look at the record to know that. Many things are coming to a head right now and it is significant that 2014 is a dead year. Many things are in play and the wait is well worth it. Time for those who say the company is doomed to sell and move on...why stay around if there are many better opportunities elsewhere. Even worse sit there with the stock at thirty when you bought at over a dollar and rode it allllllllll theeeee wayyyyyy downnnnn believing that it will never recover. At least that's what those who did so seem to be saying. ($1.00 X 1)+ ($0.30 X 3)= 4 @ $.475 each!! There can't possibly be anyone out there who has ridden this down without any DCA and is still sitting at an average cost above $1.00. No one is that stupid!!! If so they deserve the zero return they will get.
Six to one will get you all the way down to $0.40 breakeven!!!
With a declining PE Ratio of 3.0 how can that be a bad investment??
The company is profitable and growing in every direction!!! LOL!!
Too bad you are confused...this helps??
The word fact derives from the Latin factum, and was first used in English with the same meaning: "a thing done or performed".
spec·u·la·tion : ideas or guesses about something that is not known.
IF YOU ARE AT THE MEETING, OR PARTICPATE IN THE PROCESS DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, THEN WHAT YOU REPORT IS "FACT". lol...
VB no point and no know need to know.
Those who have directly participated in meetings, negotiations, in Canada, Panama, and Iberia are well aware of the situation and what has transpired. At the appropriate time there will be the appropriate disclosures. In the interim the FY 2013 filings including the MD&A will be viewable on SEDAR Monday, September 30, 2013. Being pro-active and participating is always the way to stay apprized of the facts on the ground. Let others wait until the public record is filed in accordance with TSX rules. November 15th 2013 should be an interesting MD&A. Have a great vacation!!
It is ironic, but if anyone just took the trouble to read what is in the public record now, they would probably be able to ascertain what is happening. Nice to see all of our work on the Minera-Panama web site. But of course actually studying the company just isn't in the cards, that would require effort.
Not really, education, money, and foresight required...
You would have to be brain-dead to have an investment rationale like that. LOL
At the end of the day, the point is to have a bigger piece of the pie as the company and its fundamental value grows. It is not really a point of contention or discussion. It is just a fact about profitable investments. Eventually, when the share price reflects the fundamentals there will be another large asset store of wealth. Not to be foolishly traded and taxed, but rather to enjoy as it grows over the years in a diversified portfolio, that may or may not be leveraged as desired. No need to try to understand, and really no need to criticize a method that has proven itself to work with this investment. DCA is very simple and very profitable if there is fundamental soundness and growth.
PETAQUILLA ES PANAMA!!
The story again.
1. PDI vote scheduled. Large stockholders said no.
2. Iberian deal was a better way to go.
3. IFRS required more arms length history.
4. DB constrains separation.
5. Plan has always remained the same.
Nothing missed, nothing failed, nothing factual in your comment. It is not certain that majority would approve if vote is taken now. Management proposes stockholders dispose. The facts are well known. The size of your stake reflects the power of your decision fortunately for the company. Just go back to 2009 and read the PR's on the subject from then to now to learn the facts.
Fundamentally a story of success and steady growth from then until now and continuing tomorrow. Obviously the right decisions have been made all along the way, that bring us where were are now. Just read the public record.
New larger bridge to Molejon.
Bridge is built over the Coclesito River
(Panama, September 18, 2013) A new bridge was inaugurated over the Coclesito River, in the District of Donoso, by the Ministry of Public Works (MOP), with the support of the company Minera Panama.
This work will benefit the residents of Villa Del Carmen, Coclesito, Nazareno, Nuevo San José, Los Mollejones, San Juan Centro, Limón, Sinaí, Nueva Lucha, among others.
"We collaborated by hiring a backhoe for clearing the structures of the previous vehicular passage and the assembly of new metal components, resulting in 123 hours of work. Similarly, 100 m³ of rock or stone material was provided to the MOP for the construction of access ramps", informed Alberto Casas, Director of Community and Environmental Affairs for Minera Panama.
Currently the company is developing, as part of the Cobre Panama project, the construction and refurbishment of the Llano Grande-Molejón road, helping with the movement of hundreds of people, carriers and visitors.
Share price could go to $0.01, I suppose.
Being able to understand and know when there is value, and profits to be gained, is what separates the winners from the losers. Those who just sit and do nothing are losers by default. Personally I still think that anything under a dollar is a gift. I plan to continue as always buying every month until the price is well above that and perhaps there is a better opportunity somewhere. For now I see nothing better out there. So I just keep on accumulating and not worry about interim share prices.
Of course, I should have been clearer.
Much of it is just churning over and over the same few shares. I doubt if even 10% is involved and the percentage is getting lower each month as shares are accumulated by long term investors.
Remember we are Canadian.
We are traded as PTQMF OTC.BB in the USA and that represents a very small volume. In Canada we are on the regular TSX exchange as T.PTQ and trade and average of 190,000 shares a day. You can check this on Yahoo Finance. In addition we are traded in Germany on the DAX albeit without too much more volume than in the States. If you are constrained in such a way that you need instant access to your funds whatever the volume, this may not be the stock you should invest in short term. Certain there is more liquidity in the DOW.
I have heard of a lot of reasons to be wary of an investment in a small company. In this case I would think that the lack of sellers would tell me that the company is tightly held and many of those people are certainly not going to give away shares. Try $3.50/share
next time and I imagine they will be filled. Certainly by all the little guys on this board!!! LOL!!
AVERAGE VOLUME TRADED ALL TOGETHER IS 250,000 SHARES/DAY for last ninety days. That is about 4% of the float per month or 48% each year. How may shares are you seeking to acquire?
If you need to sell and have a gain...
it is nice to have an offset. One should never be investing in the market more than just a small percent of FCF from your other investments. Why take such a risk?? In Panama there are many opportunities in land, hotels, farming, ranching, oil, fishing, etc. If one has no real money better to just own a little gift shop, or work at a job somewhere. As they say...investing is for investors, not people trying to just make some quick killing. Anyway that is just my opinion. Wealth is to be preserved and that comes only with diversification.
Even the best of stocks rise and fall through cycles and macro events. That is why you hire a good financial analyst, and pay him well, if you do not have the time or ability necessary, to ride the swells and valleys. Otherwise I guess mutual funds are more appropriate for the little fellows. In our opinion PTQ is the place to be right now, and that is where we have placed substantial investment money. No worries here....let's see what next week tells us about our growth.
Not the way to buy. Reread post #21707.
Steady consistent regular investment, increase at obvious bottoms, but never large single buys. DCA. Our group has about four million shares now at a very low average cost. IMO you are recommending just the opposite of what I am trying to explain is the way to make money over the long term. You have been saying for days now that the stock would crash over the next thirty days. Why would you recommend a large single purchase at this price if that is what you believe? 99.99% is not offered you will note. Perhaps you investment method does not work with this stock.
Thanks for posting the graph.
My post you responded to was just to clarify that we were not now trading at "all time lows", but rather 10 times what those were for several years.
The large drops in the share price over the past few years came generally due to three things in Panama and one in the sector that were out of the control of the company. Those issues have been well documented and I am not going to waste time posting about them again.
Some investors have done very, very well with this stock by using the DCA method. If you are not familiar, then it is easily researched.
In addition when the stock has retreated there have been excellent opportunities to capture large tax losses to offset other income by selling the few (relatively)shares that we bought during the albeit brief upsurge in the stock price.
Long term investment is about creating wealth by investing in companies that have great growth potential and a proven record of fundamental growth. There are large long time investors that believe Petaquilla meets that criteria perfectly. Steady growth, great reserves, stable environments, and excellent management. All in our opinions and certainly not shared by some here.
Anyone can do the analysis and see what the result is from investing just $1,000/month since the company went public. At the same time selling off those few shares that were purchased at very high levels for tax loss during the slow times. Putting in more money at the obvious bottoms has made the return even better. We have grown our investment as the company has grown and the future will be excellent, we believe. Some methods work better than others.
The one we have chosen for this company has stood the test of time and rewarded us handsomely. If you doubt that just do the analysis outlined herein above. It certainly isn't rocket science to just follow the manner outlined in the above paragraph. We believe the next ten years will be even better. Good Luck in using whatever method you choose to follow for your strategy. One either fishes or cuts bait. Doing nothing is the worse choice of all IMO.
Indeed you have been consistent.
A few years ago you were very pro-management, but not since the stock dropped to about $0.50 and you became disenchanted. At one time you were a very strong supporter of the management team. Very telling comments in your post. The only thing I can assure you of, is that there will be no change in management. You must have noticed the float has decreased substantially and I believe about 87% is now in management friendly hands. As the company grows and prospers the hand of management is strengthened.
Most are looking for fundamental growth in production and reserves, along with good cost control, and increases in equity. Those are the things they can control and they seem to have been delivering in a very difficult environment. The relationship with Minera-Panama has improved greatly since Inmet left the scene and I can not foresee any circumstance that would include a dismantling of our team, either in Panama, or Iberia. On the contrary it appears to be strengthening as we grow steadily.
So as they say here, "PETAQUILLA ES PANAMA!", and our management will remain for many, many more years IMO. Looking forward to your comments about the P&L's along with the MD&A when they are filed. More steady progress I suspect will be shown.
Looking at the charts...
Petaquilla traded from $0.02 to $0.04 per share for several years in the past. Those who bought large numbers of shares during those times, are still doing quite well at this lingering plateau. With the GDXJ down about 70% there is a great probability that things will move much higher just on a renewed interest in the sector. Most investors seem to think that will happen sometime in the future. It really is of no concern just when that will take place as long as it happens one day.
As to purchasing shares, the DCA method has proven the surest way to make serious money over the past ten years. If long term investment is the goal, then it is the best way to accumulate several million shares without subjecting oneself to the vicissitudes of the market and macro events. As the company grows over the long term so does the value of the investment. Ten years from now few will care at what price the stock traded in the summer of 2013, but those who have accumulated large holdings will be well satisfied IMO.
Soon the numbers will be published and they will show continued steady growth and expansion of stockholders equity. That is what is important for the future. A canvas of major stockholders at the Gold Forum showed all, without exception, firmly behind management's plan and direction for future growth. To be informed, one must participate.
Try to remember, "You are posting to the Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. (PTQMF) board. Please keep your post about the stock and company. Do not post about other users or other stocks."
The Denver Forum not a 'gold show'.
Hosted each September in Colorado, the Denver Gold Forum (DGF) is the world's most prestigious precious metal equities investment forum. The Denver Gold Forum showcases seven-eighths of the world's publicly traded gold and silver companies when measured by production and reserves. The invitation-only event is attended by the world's leading specialist precious metal investors as well as generalist institutional investors. Buy- and sell-side analysts from around the world make up the balance of the participants.
I believe that you are confused about the Denver Forum. It is a small invitation only to the major players in the industry. The general investing public is not invited and usually any future developments emanating from the meetings there are not brought to light in the public view for several months. It is common for there to be a 'silent non-disclosure period' imposed for up to ninety days after a decision has been made by interested parties to pursue something in common. This of course is when the in depth due diligence is performed by both parties.
You may be confused with the 'retail-dog-and-pony' shows that are quite common. There were some interesting one-on-one meetings, that of course were scheduled according to the parameters I posted here prior to the meeting, which may prove fruitful down the line. Naturally, nothing not publicly disclosed prior to the meetings or reception could be discussed because of stringent TSX rules against such things. There is a lot of back and forth in the hotel bar among many who come to the hotel even though they did not have the credentials to be qualified by the host to participate in the actual Forum. You might think of it as a PM Davos sort of meeting.
As again required by TSX there will be a PR issued when the filings are made on SEDAR. I really expected a PR prior to the Denver Gold Forum to allow us to discuss recent developments, but there is just so much going on that it became impossible to meet that deadline. Monday you should have plenty to read and become more informed.
The data shows that no one is shorting millions of shares this month so I guess there is not much downside from this point. More or less $0.30 has proved to be a very solid bottom in recent times and an excellent entry point or buying opportunity. Good Luck as you watch our company succeed!
Well reception is over at Denver.
All must do their own DD and make their own decisions. Just consider the source and access of those whom you listen to for advice. The answers are right there in the most recent press releases if you just read them very carefully. Consider whom is actually invested and who is just talking without knowledge. Be careful with your money. Personally I think very good news is our future, the others disagree. Easy to make money here today IMO.
So in the interest of equal time I present the voice of the troika! The rest of us will stay on the porch with the large shareholders and management where 87% of the stock is controlled. 700,000 share is actually .0026% of our shares. That means that means that 99.99% have not been offered up at these prices. Time to panic and sell???? Perhaps you should go for it and get out while you can.....maybe you will only get $0.03 next month!!! LOL!!!
By the way...correct me if I am wrong, but , would not the second solution present below be a huge buy signal???? Not going to happen, but an interesting reason to use trying to convince people to sell. Maybe I am having trouble with English this morning??
Here is the other side again:
OMG!!!! Nearly 700k shares in the offer.
Dont listen to MKJii, he is the biggest promoter here.
HUGE SELLING, HUGE BLOCKS in the offer.
Bad News, i am smelling it!!!!!!!!!!
OMG!!!! Nearly 700k shares in the offer.
Dont listen to MKJii, he is the biggest promoter here.
HUGE SELLING, HUGE BLOCKS in the offer.
These HUGE Blocks in the offer only have 2 solutions:
1. some bad bad bad news ahead very soon
2. takeover offer is comming again and the person who places the huge offer of nearly 700k shares (broker 15) wants to keep the shareprice in low levels for a low average price.
however, something is cooking here guys..... something is cooking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My guess is 18-24 months.
At that time I would expect $2,000.00 gold which is up 50% from the price at the moment. The election in Germany will have a great effect on the EU and Germany will stop funding the losers. PTQ is profitable at current levels and revenue growth will be steady as production continues to grow. Many macro events could change the plan, but that is what is budgeted at this time. Minera-Panama was on hold for eight months, but is now hiring again and will be ramping up once again. There are major changes to the project, almost all of which impact favorably on Petaquilla.
Posters here have projected terrible results for FY 2013, with some on SH actually claiming only a $0.01-$0.02 EPS for Q4. I do not know where they are getting this information. The facts will be known soon publicly and Q1 has only one more gold pour and it is in the books. Those pesky warrants will also go away soon. Some are saying the stock will crash in the next thirty days. Those who believe that should be shorting like never before if they expect us to return to the 2002-2003 levels of $0.03/share.
Yes indeed! Especially the hint at the end...
Shake the tree a little and see what falls out!! Nice work!
Conference Call and Web Cast in three hours...don't forget.
"MJKII is again shouting for buyers here."
Just trying to help. I have nothing to sell so I really don't need a buyer. I am glad you took notice and marked your calendar.
"PTQ won't sell out to FQ?[and don't count on MrFifer ''looking after the little guy'']....Not what I hear..."
Perhaps it is the old broke spinster sitting in the little gift shop up in CR that you are hearing. She has no access and is a long way from Vancouver. I can tell you that the sale of PTQ to FQM is not what you hear in Vancouver, Toronto, Panama, or yesterday in Denver. It is not part of the discussion planned for today's reception at 5:30PM. Review the public record, understand the make up of Minera-Panama and its agreements with MICI and others you will know all this talk is just a phantasy chattering.
I hope that I have help those who listened. Everyone must do some actual DD and make their own decisions and take personal responsibility. Funny thing is that under either my belief or the lady's in CR, the stock is projected to have a huge increase very soon. Those who sit on their hands lose either way!!
Only other possibility for success is Investor20501 who feels that selling short immediately is the way to make money between now and the end of the year. I encourage those who think is he is right to borrow heavily against their farms and sell as much PTQ short this week as they can. Good Luck!!
OK, I'M BORED TOO!!
Let us just say that, if one has no idea what is actually going on, it is easier to just post just make up stuff. But, it is extremely fun to watch the machinations of those trying to be relevant without having any information specific to the company. MARK YOUR CALENDARS...NOVEMBER 15, 2013 MAJOR DISCLOSURES THAT WILL BE EXTREMELY POSITIVE AND WILL AFFECT THE SHARE PRICE!!! THIS IS THE BUYING OPPORTUNITY OF YOUR LIFETIME!!! BUT PLEASE...PLEASE...DON'T LISTEN TO ME!!!
I WANT TO ENJOY THE GLOATING AT THE END OF THE YEAR. If you are not pro-active and involved then you have no hope of understanding the current situation. Just remember, FQM is not buying PTQ, nor is anyone else. Time to plan for the holidays and give this all a rest for a while...the die is cast!!
It's all good!!!
No question about it, should have happened.
If you join the other venue, you will understand what is happening. Not my place to share here. Our reception is here tomorrow at 5:30PM, perhaps you will know more then. Are you in the hotel and conference, or staying nearby and working the bar in the lobby, as do many who are not allowed to participate? Sometimes I think more business is done there than inside. LOL!!!
Think you are right.
We will withhold any news and save the expense. No point in wasting money. Look for SEDAR filings viewable on September 30, 2013. Thanks for making the point about wasting time and money with the public.
Sorry, my bad for sharing information.
Hasta la vista, NOT....
Badge, I missed your point in calling my post to my attention. I guess you were telling me to just keep things to myself. Everyone's on the way to Denver now, so I'll leave the board back to the two fellows who really know pertinent information. Don't forget to check the SEDAR filing on the 30th. If you have questions please address them to the two resident experts. If you want in-depth analysis and open communication with management you need to join the other venue.
Just to be clear badge...
The post I made on Monday the 9th referring to "next week at the latest" referred to this current week. Not too hard to see the deadline since all the FY 2013 data is in the presentation prepared for Denver and could not be used prior to the PR according to the rules. Conference begins on Sunday and is sold out!
In addition, there have been some great interchanges between the serious pro-active investors on the new blog and the company, that I expect will be incorporated into the published materials. This has caused a little more editing and taken a little more time, but should benefit everyone by painting a clearer picture.
No predictions on share price impact, but things are moving along very well in a difficult climate for the sector. Good Luck!!
No worries badge792.
PR will be out before end of day tomorrow, if not sooner. Numbers are very good. New presentation for use in Denver is completed and will be used there.
Complete filings of audited P&L's with audited MD&A will be placed with SEDAR on September 28, 2013, and will probably be viewable on Monday September 30, 2013. MD&A is very detailed and will bring you up to date.
eom7,combined with exploration until Q1 2014.
See PTQ blog.
NI43-101 LP completed/provided to PTQ 9/10/13.
Very interesting.....
Likewise, the rest of us wait for that day.
Some of the most prolific posters have never, ever, over the years offered any analysis or posted any results of original DD.
I would be most appreciative to see the same amount of research done by other posters in General.
The vast majority of those who are proactive and involved IMO are to be found at another discussion venue. There you will find a wealth of information that is very timely and fully vetted.
It might save you effort, if you just posted the date of the PR or other source of public information, to respond to the non-factual statements, that are constantly thrust upon the board. If the poster wishes he may then research the answer himself. Most of us IMO are already up to speed and find the statements constantly denying the facts amusing at best.
Hope springs eternal they say, but that was not said by anyone looking for reasonableness, intelligent thought, or analysis here.
Preliminary numbers next week at the latest!!
Saludos,
Vancouver, BC - Aug 19, 2013: Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. (TSX:PTQ) (OTCBB:PTQMF) (FRANKFURT:P7Z) ("Petaquilla" or "the "Company") advises that it has changed its financial year end from May 31 to June 30. As a result of this change, the Company will have a transitional 13-month financial year ending June 30, 2013.
The change in the financial year end has been completed in preparation for the spinout of the Company's infrastructure subsidiary, Panama Desarrollo de Infraestructuras, S.A. ("PDI") as the Company requires additional time to ensure accuracy of its financial plan information, allocations between the Company and PDI as well as for audit processes and plan of arrangement preparation. The Company intends to proceed with the spinout during its 2014 fiscal year.
Further details regarding the change in financial year end, including the Company's interim reporting periods, are available in the Company's Notice of Change of Financial Year End prepared in accordance with Section 4.8 of National Instrument 51-012, which will be filed shortly on SEDAR at www.sedar.com.
For the 13-month financial year ended June 30, 2013, the Company anticipates releasing preliminary results in mid-September 2013 with audited consolidated financial statements and related documents to be filed at the end of September 2013.
AS PER THE 'NOTICE' FILED AUGUST 19, 2013 ON SEDAR, THE LEGAL DEADLINE IS SEPTEMBER 28, 2013 FOR ALL AUDITED STATEMENTS TO BE FILED.
I agree you are not informed.
As you know I have never been a fan of constantly communicating with shareholders in the public retail market, and feel time and money is better spent other ways. The filing of all legally mandated reports on SEC and SEDAR are sufficient IMO. Those who are pro-active and large investors communicate more often, either directly with management, and/or at various public conferences and forums where they are invited. These are the people who will control the future and really are the only ones that need to be kept abreast of events.
I understand you frustration and being left in the dark; the mushroom like status that goes with your situation has to exacerbate the situation. The 30 day delay in filings for Q4 and the year end P&L's with audited MD&A just makes it seem worse at the moment. However, you might ask yourself, really what difference does it make? Would you buy or sell anything based on a little more information? A complete breakdown every quarter combined with the news to be found in the public record, news papers, and interviews, presents plenty of fodder for most IMO.
We do know that benefits dropped.
Paying out the DB facility was very attractive at $1,800 gold.
It was unattractive at $1,200.00 gold. FCF from FQM increased
greatly with the amendment and the prepayment. Drill results in
LP confirmed excellent grades. A/P increases have been ameliorated.
Production has ramped up and we have a new relationship with Minera-Panama. Those are all well known public facts.
In addition there are such things as "Silent Periods" which can and may have been invoked when issues are being discussed and reviewed. Perhaps you are not familiar with such things, but they usually run from sixty to ninety days and I have heard of times when they ran for six months.
In twenty days you will have more information filed on SEDAR and may or may not be able to understand sufficiently to make and informed decision, or enter into intelligent discussions.
THANK YOU. NOW WE ALL KNOW.
"We know Red Kite turned them down." Is a statement made by you and not from another source, and should be solely attributable to you.
End of Story.
Obviously did/could not read the link.
So I will post it again so that you might educate yourself:

Obviously you did not read the public record or the newspapers.
There is too much to post.
Go to the government web site if you want to learn and/or be informed. I don't have time nor interest to spoon feed you the files, or public record. Attorneys are in the yellow pages, call one if you don't want to look for yourself.
YOU SEEK TO DIVERT FROM THE ISSUE. PLEASE ANSWER THE SIMPLE QUESTION PUT TO YOU ABOUT YOUR SPECIFIC DECLARATION.
Where did you get that information? Post source or link, please so that it may be followed to the source. Who have you talked to...where have you read such a thing????
I made no statement either way.
No one has told me Red Kite turned down Petaquilla. Again, you said "We know Red Kite turned them down.". I ask who or whom is the "We" in which you are included. It is not my place to decide whether or not it is true. That is why we have courts. I said that I had someone inquire of both Petaquilla and Red Kite and he was not able to verify the statement "We" including yourself declared. What is the problem? Again, Where did you get that information? Post source or link, please so that it may be followed to the source. Who have you talked to...where have you read such a thing?
This was a very clear six word sentence. There is no ambiguity at all. Please tell us.
In Panama Petaquilla is protected. Such speech often leads to the courts in other jurisdictions, but there are just civil judgements. When someone is nothing, and has nothing, they are pretty much what is called 'judgement proof' in that there is nothing to be gained by taking them to court. As the moderator has pointed out in numerous occasions, we know who these people are and where to locate them, but there is not much use unless they set foot in Panama.
We have very strict criminal laws against those who willfully make defamatory libelous statements against the company. These are serious crimes and not just civil infractions. Here is an interesting link:

That is contrary to every piece of information I have from either Red Kite or Petaquilla when I made the effort to have one of my people inquire. You must be aware that the POG declined, put a major strain on Red Kite's operations, and greatly diminished the attractiveness of the loan to PTQ as it was proposed in the term sheets. Why are you making libelous statements against Petaquilla??? Please answer the questions...
"We know Red Kite turned them down."
Where did you get that information? Post source or link, please so that it may be followed to the source. Who have you talked to...where have you read such a thing????
That is contrary to every piece of information I have from either Red Kite or Petaquilla when I made the effort to have one of my people inquire. You must be aware that the POG declined, put a major strain on Red Kite's operations, and greatly diminished the attractiveness of the loan as it was proposed in the term sheets. Why are you making libelous statements against Petaquilla???
Interesting article, thanks for bringing it.
Whether Spain or Portugal are ruled by left or right, they will need mining and the gold. The left wing of Spain is very pro-mining as it brings money and jobs to Huelva. China the communist leader is pro-gold and puts that even before politics as do most country's political parties when in power.
The statesmanship the author pleads for was not found in those counties that are listed, and have fallen into disrepair and disrepute. In Germany where there exists a work ethic and fiscal responsibility, the people are tire of carrying the slower, lazy ones on their backs. Such things are wars made of, if left to fester.
Those who study history always shook their heads at the idea of a common currency for the EU. I believe it was doomed before it began. The question is whether the coming storm will be good or bad for the POG over the long run. Certainly there will be a lot of volatility.
It is true that Panama is extremely strong from a financial perspective and the only risk is that it is tied to the dollar. Elite Panamanians of all political stripes are invested in Petaquilla as witnessed by the history of moving forward no matter who held public office.
The fact that we are closely tied to the Catholic Church in all three countries is a great plus also. Let us all be thankful that we are not in the trouble spots of the Middle East, Africa, or any of the Arab or Persian areas of the world. Fasten your seat belt!
In Panama the minimum wage is in the papers this morning:
In November is the deadline for employers and employees to agree on the new minimum wage that should govern the next year and that will become the highest in Latin America, announced Deputy Minister of Labour, Darius Falcon.
In that month should complete the period of technical papers from both sides, served on the Minimum Wage Commission which is also part of the Ministry of Labour.
The Commission evaluates the effects of productivity, economic growth and investment capacity of businesses to define the increase in monthly income, in order to avoid a negative impact on the purchasing power of workers, said Vice Minister Falcon , who chairs the negotiating table.
With representatives from business and the working class, this morning we examined the feasibility of increasing the minimum payments that are now in $ 490 for zone 1, and $ 432 in zone 2.
"With this administration we have simplicity, and although we question the 22 and 23% increase in basic goods, work in parallel to set the minimum wage hike," said the official.
The deputy minister said it would be irresponsible to say at this time what percentage to be applied, however, panamaamerica.com.pa reiterated the statement made by the President of the Republic, Ricardo Martinelli of Panama that will from next year with the highest minimum wage in the region.
Since many work a 44 hour week this may range from about $2,25/hr. to $2.50/hr. The indians in the west sometime only received $2.00 a day in their environment. They are looking at their cousins driving Toyotas and living in houses with electricity rethinking their loyalty to the water god this morning. Of course PTQ and Minera-Panama pay their average worker well above the base and they are some of the highest paid groups in the country. The locals in Cocle are well aware of our contributions to their economy and hence the huge pro-mining demonstrations held there last year.
