The pitch: a stupid cop is lured to a remote island inhabited by nutty locals to find a missing child
Trust me, I've done the hard work for you so you don't have to subject yourself to the unimaginable horrors of this movie.
http://movienuggets.blogspot.com/2007/10/movienuggets-reviews-w.html
This is such a terrible movie that you have to wonder at the mentality of those involved, not just the main culprit (writer/director LaBute) but your actors, producers, crew, the whole lot. Jesus Christ if this isn't a big, stinky turd on the cinematic map. I mean, first you have to question why you'd remake The Wicker Man in the first place. A classic, influential horror film, but also one from a particular era and possibly not meant for a "reimagining". It shows. LaBute has altered the story to jettison the religious context of the original in favour of a typical "burned-out cop haunted by nightmares given the opportunity to redeem himself" crud.
Actually should of stayed in St Clair Shores then we made a big mistake moving to GP Shores.. Huge difference in taxes.. If I stayed in SCS I would have allot more to invest for my retirement.. Now I just watch my house depreciate 30 times faster than my the principal on my mortgage.. In SCS it was almost paid off... My Stupid...
Actually I live in the Shores and work in the Woods, hence 48236
Where in Detroit are you located?
EXACTLY!!!!!!
Why can't they proceed with the other announced animation projects.
Great another Baghdad movie

“It doesn’t matter if they [the superhero wannabes] read comic books or not,” says Lee with a laugh. “It’s all about enjoying this whole thing pretending to be superheroes. There were guys who just had the most ridiculous powers and some of the costumes were so funny. We did get a big laugh out of them.”
King of California

By GARY COGILL / WFAA-TV
King of California is a disappointing new film starring Michael Douglas as an eccentric, delusional father living with his angry neglected daughter, played by Evan Rachel Wood.
So, what does she do? He convinces her to dig for buried treasure underneath the floor of a discount department store and in the process they find themselves and their relationship.
First-time writer-director Mike Cahill has created a movie that only pretends to be tender and filled with substance, when in reality, it plays like a soon-to-be cancelled TV sitcom.

October 5, 2007
Simon West will direct an adaptation of David Zucchino's nonfiction book "Thunder Run: The Armored Strike to Capture Baghdad" for producers Freedom Films and Emmett/Furla Films, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The Con Air helmer will also produce the feature, adapted by Pulitzer Prize-winning Los Angeles Times correspondent Zucchino from his chronicle of the pivotal April 2003 Iraq War battle.

The executive producers are Black Hawk Down writer Ken Nolan, Emmett/Furla's M. Dal Walton III, Freedom's Lisa Kearns, Thad Luckinbill and Kathryn Foster.

WHAT THE HECK DOES STFU MEAN?
Southern Tenant Farmers Union
I am amazed you didn't know that.......
The Southern Tenant Farmers' Union (STFU) was founded as a civil farmer's union to further organize the tenant farmers in the Southern United States.
Originally set up during the Great Depression in the United States, the reasons for the establishment of the STFU are numerous, although they are all largely centered upon money and working conditions. Predominantly, the STFU was established as a result of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration (AAA). The AAA itself was designed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to help revive the United States' agricultural industry and to recharge the depressed economy.
The AAA called for a reduction in food production, which would, through a controlled shortage of food, raise the price for any given food item through supply and demand. The desired effect was that the agricultural industry would once again prosper due to the increased value and produce more income for farmers. In order to decrease food production, the AAA would pay farmers not to farm and the money would go to the landowners. The landowners were expected to share this money with the tenant farmers. While a small percentage of the landowners did share the income, the majority did not. This led to the formation of the STFU, whose existence serves historically as evidence that such a problem existed.
STFU was one of few unions in the 1930s that was open to all races. Promoting not only nonviolent protest for their fair share of the AAA money, the STFU also promoted the idea that blacks and whites could work efficiently together. Because these ideas were highly controversial at the time, the STFU met with harsh resistance from the landowners and local public officials and STFU leaders were often harassed and ignored.

.12!!!!! woot!
Woot Woot!
Its just logic. Sub Sub penny price, a few billion shares and their track record. Its just a matter of time before they give up reporting (not required to when a pinkie).. Just my thoughts..
I think we are going to pinkie status and a non reporting company.

I know that Family is not a pinkie but at .0004 I am not so sure that we wont be one OFFICIALLY verrrrrrrrry soon..
POWN is a pinkie and its trading at .12 Just odd and it might get a boost some day.
Have a great day....
thanks
Ed
I just thought that the most current excuse could be valid.. Heck I have been hearing excuses since 2003...... Don't expect to hear anything positive and if we did nobody would believe the boys anyway... Now if Furla hit the Mega Lottery we would be really in the toilet!!!
I just figured out why this is so slow today..
Everybody is waiting for the Federal Reserve to announce the rate cut.
If the 51% is just that with the 3 deals (Who Cares???)
Let it ride and this just might get them to pay off the 276K
RIGHT!!!!!
I don't think so.. But someone else could cause Valcom is Bankrupt....... If they see a future in just those 3 units.
Or someone else can buy the paper and own 51% for full value. Stan better make good on the note!!!!!
Did you guys ever think that 276K can get reduced to 75K,,,, Just like that in Bankruptcy??? Cash now is the answer.. Buy it back Stan.. I mean POW !!!!!
Wonder how much COSCO paid for advertising???
My understanding of how the back room works is that First look places 3M into the kitty retiring a boat load of debt and gets the right to distribute the film. Its then their job to market it. For example the film costs 30M to make 3M is a drop in the bucket but they somehow can market or have purchase the right to market it anyway they see fit. So if it bombs they are out temporary till they get someone to pick it up. Thats how I understand the program
Projected to do less than "Elah'' on a per-theater basis are "King of California'' starring Michael Douglas $7,895
