BAAAAABBBBBBBYYYYYY! Vegas here we come!
Bring on the sell-off! I could do with more shares
Yes.. I answered it cobber
Now you owe me a Tooheys.
Whether IR or Bluetooth, the fact remains that for any vendor to implement this as a form of direct to mobile marketing... the COST of setting up a device to transmit that signal (bluetooth or IR) is way too high to deploy on a mass scale. EACH poster/item/hypertag must have it's OWN little computer running off some form of power (battery or mains) Though the novelty quotient is there, and until the Word Registry is up and running hyperlink is a quick way to introduce the world to the concept of mobile to physical world marketing, there is no real way that MASS deployment can or will happen in the way Paperclick is working towards and set to achieve.
Aura are not public to my knowledge - but they are good friends of NEOM. Read about it here...

PVC -> Hypertag uses infra-red to beam it's information to handheld devices.
This means that whoever uses it must spend good money on a small powered computer to beam the IR signal from wherever that "dot" is located (i.e. inside the locked box where the movie poster is placed)
It costs money to employ on a small scale, and is simply too expensive on a large scale. You can not place an IR transmitter on every can of Coke in the world, let a lone every product in existence.
Additionally, Infra-Red is a highly temperamental technology. If Hypertag were using Bluetooth, it *might* be conceivably convenient, but with Infra-Red, the user experience will involve much trial and error, not to mention the waving of one's arm many times in front of the hypertag.
What Neomedia has is the ability to read pre-existing bar codes and more importantly RFID tags which virtually EVERY item/poster/book/cokecan/shoebox will have.
We are talking HUGE scale deployment at the flick of a switch. VERY low cost to implement for companies means the greater possibility of widescale adoption.
Love,
SA
Just read iPoint has serious backing from Keppel Corp.
Don't know how I missed it but I did.
Do your research on Keppel guys.
Keppel is THE BIG ASS papa of my neck of the woods.
No hope of anyone else stealing this space in SE Asia.
JP... I told you so!
OT: Wine and Paperclick
VERY good application. Such a simple thing that EVERYONE I know would use.
RE: Investing in wine -> I started purely by accident. My wife and did a winery tour of the Margaret River region in Western Australia. During one of our tastings we both found a wine we really enjoyed and decided to stock up on three cases.
About a year later, we went back on another little holiday and were shocked to see that the same wine was 3 times the price! I spent a while figuring out how to sell a case or two and ended up using a wine broker. I've been lucky and found a very nice one who has provided bonded storage and insurance (storing wine in tropical Singapore where I am is a bitch at best) and who has also been able to educate me along the way. Its a viable way to make some bucks, learn about wine and the downside is being stuck with a great bottle of wine (or a few...)
And beer? Man... I've just started homebrew here where again, temperature is making life hell. Primary fermentation has come and gone in 30 hours once or twice...

OT: Aussies make the BEST wine for my money...
I switched from French about 5 years ago.
Nevermore shall I drink that overrated vin.
Got 40k of selected stuff in storage ready for auction
in 5 years time. Gonna drink some healthy profits too!
Woohoo... Another 30k @ .305
I have another order in at .25
And one at .22
Merry Christmas folks!
It just outlined the concept behind PC linking to the physical and that it was something they thought we should "look out for"
I'll try and get in touch with the station and see if I can get a transcript or a copy
I Just heard a report on paperclick on radio here in Asia.....!!
Are we investors or shareholders? eom
Ooooh.. them's fightin' words
Much Love.
I spoke to the Motorola VP today...
They know about NeoMedia.
Aren't we all on the outside looking in?
Woogs -> Love ya, but unless you have something verifiably concrete, please do not state it as fact.
Beacs -> Love you too cobber, but don't stress at what info others provide or don't provide. Forums ain't utopia.
NEOM has 4 institutional holders
(according to my info : correct me if I'm wrong...)
Barclays Bank Plc 242,554
Gilkison Patterson 70,000
Blair (William) & Co 27,000
Birinyi Associates 10,000
AMEN Yellow Jacket.
I don't know why we tend get excited at the idea of a GOOG or MSFT taking a stake in NEOM. For P&G to hook up with us, speculatively speaking, would be of incredible benefit.
My investment in NEOM is NOT about some new technology (however revolutionary and/or obvious!) it's only about the products and profits.
I was there at CommunicAsia today.
Things are gaining momentum people.
The future we believe in is very near.
I have been having some interesting chats with guys on the floor.
I can tell you first hand that Asia is heaven for mobile manufacturers and providers. Kids are paying full price for upgrades once every two or three months and adults are doing the same. Your phone is your status.
Nothing in the patent realm for NEOM that we know of right now for Asia...
BUT ..
Let's not forget NEOM's EU protection. I don't think many on this board realise just how significant that is.
This is 1995 folks.
"Wow... you can share pictures on a computer?"
"You mean I can send a letter electronically?"
For those who remember thinking to themselves,
"YUP.. this internet thing is the future.."
Hold NEOM tight.
Our best friend SAIC remembers well.
As do their friends in high places.
But we need to wait for 2000.
Perhaps this will come exponentially faster..
.. or maybe not. But it will come.
This day to day fluctuation is not worth concern.
SA.
Things are lining up VERY well.
Do NOT forget your DD and hold tight.
Some serious moves being made.
After all... if you were about to the change the world, wouldn't you want to be ready? The fact that NEOM is taking it's time is a GOOD thing.
Big Boys will not let them do a half baked job.
SA
All this "Fortune 100" company talk...
And yet no one has ever considered Caterpillar Inc.
It's number 77 you know... !
Lovingly yours,
SA.
Cloudy Mate...
Interesting line of thought.
Though TS did say on his radio interview in early april on TradersNation that "there's a 20% stake being taken by either a Microsoft or a Google"
Granted he only said 'a' Microsoft or 'a' Google. But still...
Either way not one of us knows right now.
But I'll have a drink for all of us when we do!
This whole Amazon chatter is interesting...
Ever notice how entering any CD barcode in the Go Window demo on NEOM's site bring you to an Amazon.com page?
Who else has web ready server filled with as much product data?
Pure conjecture of course.
Kisses. SA.

Let's all THINK for a second...
We all know a thing or two about the web right?
(Hopefully anyway - given the DD that goes on here)
Let's look at this link again..
http://home.earthlink.net/~risingtides/
It's a freakin' freebie web page which could have been hacked up by anyone.
If they were worth 5c they would AT LEAST have their OWN domain name.
Please.. a tilde in the address? We all know better than that.
For those still afraid... please email me... I have a friend in Nigera who needs some money.
SA
FWIW...
TS very recently gave out one of the name of one of his energy plays reserved for subscribers in a teaser email.
Apologies for not remembering the details, but this seems like some new strategy to market his service. Could it be that by giving out NEOM's name to all and sundry, that when it does hit the big-time, he will be able to say, "I told you so..." in doing so becoming the god of newsletters? (whereupon he may kick back on a mountain of imported cashmere beanbags..or something like that..)
SA
Regarding Pondering Primates statement...
"I just don't see people downloading software to the phones yet. In order for mass adoption, in my opinion, the application has to be on the phone already, or an incentive has to be so great for people to take the time to download"
Don't we also have to download Paperclick software?
Does NEOM have any agreements in place with mobile manufacturers to have the software pre-installed?
Much Love...
Just sat and watched a years salary fly buy in the last two days...
And you know what?
It's ok.
I, like many excellent people on this board consider myself a part owner of Neomedia Technologies.
Granted I only own slightly less than 0.1% But still...
We know what's ahead
OT -> 11 Years Salary staring at me in NEOM shares...
--> iloveM3s
Might be wise to think a little more about the whole "Broadband and Power in one cable" idea...
In countries without any telephone systems, it's mobile phones which are being implemented easily and effectively. The same will go for the internet. Wireless is the future there too.
Yet another reason we all love NEOM so dearly 'round these parts.
JMHO
PClick...
I just went to a concert at a club in here Singapore... my ticket was an SMS code on my mobile.
Did some research and asked the guy at the door who told me about 60% of that nights tickets were via SMS.
The future is nigh...
I am holding the prototype Nokia 7700 as I write with my company's visual radio service up and running... It's neat... but maybe a bit OT
What's holding us at these prices?
IMO.. a lot of folks holding their shares right now.
Seems a combination of people buying on rumor and holding on rumor..
Hey Jer!
Someone might want to check on the dates of those broadcast clips on the NEOM website. Those phones are old models and since then all phone manufacturers have released many more models on which Paperclick (tm) will work!
NEOM is *not* just about price comparison. But on that point, your wife, along with many other people, will continue to do their DD on purchases from home - however - it's the new generation, those who only know a world with computers and mobile devices who, we strongly believe, will use this technology to achieve these tasks on the go. Aside from addressing your example, it's also the word registry istelf, tranforming 'search' into 'navigation' which will be a huge plus for neomedia.... There are many points here which others may wish to highlight, but again, ain't just about price comparison.
As for the proliferation of camera phones - it's rampant. I live in Singapore from where I have watched Asia's love of the camera phone explode. Like most tech trends, they tend to flourish in this neck of the woods first and then become mainstream in the west. EVERYONE I KNOW has a camera phone here. I kid you not. From my colleagues, to my wife's grandmother.
Best..
SA
Understand your dilemma...
I put thoughts into action though and dumped a -30% loser to nab a little more NEOM.
It was today's news that swayed me. Our new marketing man is a HUGE endorsement for the future of NEOM. My guess is most people don't realise yet.
Management would (and could) not have lured him unless he was very much needed.
IMO....
Love from Singapore,
SA
I am currently involved in the final stages of visual radio testing here in Singapore.
We are using the prototype Nokia 7700's (stormtrooper machines - no wonder they never went to market!)
My assessment: Very little future here. It's neat that our radio stations can beam info, but WiMax will superceed this VERY quickly. It's WAP all over again...
Forget this stuff... NEOM's bag is where it's at...
Where can I get Paperclick software for my phone?
