i am getting a bit confused here....
sheesh..
eamonnshute what is a dudash typo?
how would you know what the heck a dudash typo from a dashdu typo is?

geez...
eamonnshute a dudash typo? what's that?
how do you know a dudash typo?
it clearly says 250 million.
geezzz....too too FFFFFUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
eamonnshute Read the 2/3/05 entry right here...............
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=5340886
u can post 'i stand corrected.' to me anytime.
thanks in advance.
eamonn Sorry buddy, read the link:
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=5340886
millions.
250 millions.
2005 rev forecast of $250 million by unixguy
on the 'other' board.
gotta luv this unixguy dude. who is unixguy anyway? Anything to do with unisys?
barge I would be happy with 30% or so market share
which would be HUGE!!!!
I think, however, you are leaving out the PUBLIC SECTOR (e.g. Homeland Security et al) in terms of a revenue source.
Frankly, i think you are gonna see HOMELAND SECURITY are BIGGEST CLIENT (and most profitable)in the near term. We don't have to deal with the bogus 'big brother' issue and the need for Wavesys tech is RIGHT NOW!
and so it goes.
Weby...I understand your feelings and motivations, BUT
despite all the fantastic DD here, we are still at an impasse in terms of the socalled CLARITY issue.
I appreciate your DD as well as barge's and awk's efforts. I really do! BUT, the only thing I know for sure is that Dell Computer has come out PUBLICLY and said that DELL HIGHLY RECOMMENDS Wave ETS to enterprise class customers. This is RECENT news and no one should expect INSTANT REVENUES until the sales efforts go into full swing.
Dell Computer owns the PC space in terms of hardware. MSFT owns the PC space in terms of software. Intel owns the PC space in terms of processing. Guess what? Dell and Intel have selected Wave...that is TWO outta THREE. Not too shabby.
In the mobile space, my bet is on QUALCOMM. If QUALCOMM comes out with a Wave alliance, then that will take care of the mobile industry. Yeah, I know....what about TrustZone? Well, i dunno know about TrustZone. I do know enough about the mobile industry that compels me to state that QUALCOMM is gonna have alot to say about it....and what QUALCOMM says is pretty much the bottom line.
I think there is a TON of CLARITY out there and the only reason Wave is still at a buck is because THERE ARE NO REVENUES right now! That is it....clear and simple.
and so it goes.
zen
http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/40168.htm
and so it goes.
awk..what have i said that is 'wrong'?
thanks in advance.
Oh BTW, did you see this:
http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/40168.htm
interesting situation in the mobile space.
P.S. i am getting tired of your saying that people are just flat out 'wrong'. None of us are 'right' until this stock goes into the 'double digits'. OK?
Weby I think you BETTER KEEP IT SIMPLE!
Dell picked Wavesys as the 'highly recommended' secure network package for enterprise class customers.
Let me repeat: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Now....given Dell's HUGELY SUCCESSFUL TRACK RECORD at running a very PROFITABLE company, I think we ought to just conclude that Wavesys has something NO ONE ELSE CAN OFFER...PERIOD!
In the PC space there is ONLY DELL....for intents and purposes.
In the mobile space....well, my bet is QUALCOMM. So if QUALCOMM picks Wavesys then the match is OVER.....Wavesys wins hands down.
Oh yeah....i forgot the Public Sector. Homeland Security needed Wavesys technologoy installed in their networks about THREE F'N Years ago!!!!
sheesh......
OTOT:Cell Phone Jammers are Hot! Uh-oh Nokia....................
and others.
Better figure this one out or cell phone users are gonna be awfully frustrated.
and so it goes.....
awk&others...And that is why WAVX=Masterlock Keeper.
So we have to be ultra politically correct to hit the mark.
We are doing well, me thinks!
barge...this is what i mean by 'masterlock keeper'
http://www.wave.com/products/esc.html
am i off base?
who else provides this on a truly interoperable basis?
thanks.
barge Thanks! You have made my point.
I think this is why Wavesys is so 'agnostic'. Interoperability is one thing but 'trusted platform interoperability' is quite another. It implies 'trust across the board' and Wavesys is the ONLY game in town when it comes to this function.
This is highly sensitive. It implies that Wavesys is indeed the "masterlock keeper" and that means ALOT. There is ALOT OF FIREPOWER associated with this role and I think that Wavesys knows it and that is why it is being careful in shepharding all the parties into the appropriate paddocks.
This is very very complicated.
thanks.
OT: Paris Hilton's mobile phone is HACKED!
and private tel #s and notes and other data has been publicly exposed. Alot of unhappy hollywood stars out there right now.
Just an interesting side story.....
productive DD feedback is welcomed.
thanks
Here is a Major Security Problem WAVX
can help solve!
http://www.securityfocus.com/printable/news/10271
would appreciate serious DD feedback.
thanks
rosie I apologize for ruffling feathers.
tophersaint is a very good commentator and knows alot more than me...needless to say.
And yet, i asked a question...a salient one in the big of schemes....and i got alot of vonnegut stuff back. That's OK because everyone has a right to say whatever they want to as long as it doesn't impugn anyone. But, hey......i don't want to feel like i am entering a vonnegut vortex.....if you know what i mean.
thanks anyway.
C_M OK...good post. I apologize if I was a bit
testy. My question remains,however:
How would you characterize Wavesys?
Do you see it as a 'gatekeeper' or a 'masterlock keeper'?
Clearly, it is some degree of 'Key Keeper' if you will. And do you consider Utimaco a competitor of some sort?
The West Point trial/contest points to Wavesys being some level of "masterlock keeper'. this is a high burden deal and therefore predicates Wavesys's desire to remain 'agnostic'.
thanks in advance.
C_M Interesting stuff you post.
Y'know...between the 'kurt vonnegut' type posts you spin and the little tidbits (like this email highlighting the AMD dude)in this offering...I don't know who the heck you think you are in terms of explaining your position.
Are you playing with us here? What the heck is going on here?
I gotta feeling you know a helluva lot more than what you share here on this little board. With all due respect, don't play around with us here.
We simpletons here ask you sincere questions...and what do you do? You come back with bizaare 'kurt vonnegut' type replies about how one may end up in some sort of garbage can or something to that effect.
Gimme a break.
sheesh......
What/who are you? Deep throat?
geez....
eamonn...HP is getting outta the PC business.
they cannot hope to compete with DELL. No way in He#ll!
As for their other businesses, I don't know. Outside of printers, this company ain't worth a whole lot.
ANd printers? Sheessh......
gimme a break.
Sad but true.
HP is toast. They are probably gonna get rid of
their PC op too. DELL COMPUTER IS THE PC INDUSTRY.
Good move by Wavesys to hook up with DELL.
C_M Oh, OK! Do you see Wavesys as a sorta
Gatekeeper a la the TCG model?
How would you define Wavesys?
thanks.
THIS IS A MUST READ ARTICLE! read here:
http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/business/article.adp?id=20050218204509990002
Has Wavesys written all over it!
wow!
C_M How old is this document? must be ancient
mid 1990s or thereabouts?
any reason to bring it up now? Are these guys still investors or any new persons?
thanks.
Snackman, Wavesys is the MasterLock Keeper.
This is a very powerful(but very touchy)position to be in. I think that the Dell Computer deal/alliance equates into ALOT of enterprise class business potential....Big Govt and Big Corporations.
TPM 1.2 is already baked into alot of initiatives, not the least of which is LONGHORN.
BUT.....i don't think that Dell waited for 1.2 for some set of strategic reasons. I haven't quite figured it out but Dell went ahead with WaveSys BEFORE 1.2....and THIS MEANS ALOT!!!!
I think Wavesys is gonna get alot of Govt business....who knows the extent but I feel that this is gonna be BIG for Wavesys....by itself.
The consumer side of the picture is much more problematic because of the "big brother" issue. But INTEL has tapped Wavesys and so has Dell.......so, I think this is a done deal over the long haul.
I am still pondering this who is gonna 'secure' the 'gatekeeper' question. This is why Wavesys is determined to stay AGNOSTIC, but it is a big issue. The responsibility on Wavesys to be the "MasterLock Keeper" is ENORMOUS!!!
oh well....just some passing thoughts.
respond if you wish.
Wavesys = MasterLock Keeper.
This is pretty powerful stuff. This is what forces Wavesys to remain absolutely AGNOSTIC. I am still wondering whether the Govt will have to see a need to 'secure' Wavesys if it decides to incorporate the TCG model into its National Security Apparatus.
I think this is a credible possibility. But what does it mean?
any help here?
Another way of putting it is
who will 'secure' the MasterLock Keeper? Or is it necessary to do so?
This leads one to another question. Who 'secures' those companies (Verisign Cisco etc etc) who are the backbone to our National Security Apparatus and/or Critical Information Backbone?
When you get down to the nitty gritty the digital security issue becomes like a vortex. There are SO MANY GAPING HOLES that it makes one want to just 'head for the proverbial hills'!!!
sheesh............
wavxmaster
it is a rhetorical question. Of course, the Fed cannot 'buy' Wavesys. But.......let me ask again:
If the TCG model becomes 'standard' and Wavesys is sorta the 'MasterLock Keeper', then the Govt would want to know how WaveSys is kept 'secure' were the Govt decide to base its National Intelligence/Security Apparatus on the TCG model.
Wouldn't the Govt want to 'secure' the MasterLock Keeper in this scenario?
Just a thought....
Maybe the Federal Govt will Buy Wave Systems.
If the TCG model becomes the 'standard' and Wavesys is the MasterLock Keeper, then it makes sense that the Govt makes sure that Wavesys is not tampered with in any fashion.
Just thinking out loud here. If the TCG model becomes the 'standard' and the Govt's National Intelligence/Security Apparatus buys the "TCG Model", then doesn't it follow that the Govt would have to ensure that the "MasterLock Keeper" stays secure as well?
Any thoughts here?
thanks.
kant
doesn't Joe/Jane Q Public still have to choose to activate it?
not sure what you mean.
Someone by the name of unixguy is predicting $250 million
in revenues for 2005 over on the Revenue Projection Table on the 'other board'.
wow! Bullish projection, unixguy.......whoever you are!
C_M What do you think of this Esign Systems thing?
As you know, the Govt has now mandated that digital signatures are as legally binding as paper based/notarized signatures in our courts of law. So....this could be a very fast growing arena, but I am unclear how all of this pans out in terms of revenues except for the fact that Wavesys offers yet another benefit to users for its TPM based software management suite.
Wake me up when there is REAL NEWS, ok?
thanks
ASISEEIT...No Problem for the Govt Sector.
The way i see it the Govt can buy a million PCs for the DOD or Homeland Security and announce that this a "critical need PC" because of security considerations.
Then, the private sector (regular consumers) hear about the govt purchase and says, "Hey, I need that kinda security too. I don't want my identity stolen!!!".
Then, the snowball starts to grow big time as it rolls down the hill.
Watch out below!!!!!!!!!!!!
and so it goes.
Weby Nice reply. Complicated but nice. Let me
respond by saying that revenue is always relevant. My question to you was meant to imply that the 'revenue issue' being tossed around here COULD become 'irrelevant' to the degree that significant revenues (via Dell)will materialize over the course of the next year. I think alot of posters here see the 'revenue issue' as purely one of visibility. After all, Wavesys has NO MEANINGFUL REVENUE currently....so any significant rise in revenue (given the current situation)could produce a much greater level of clarity and comfort to shareholders. This DOES NOT IMPLY that revenues is not relevant, rather that any significant visibility of revenue generation from hereon out is a big big improvement....and thereby reduce the discussion of "show me the money/revenue" blah blah blah
Frankly, I don't know whether Wavesys knows the numbers six months from now. Maybe they do but I am not sure.
Your statement asking how significant is Wavesys to Dell is a good question. I suppose that Wavesys is pretty important right now because they are the ONLY company offering ETS on the Dell site. Furthermore, Dell went on to "highly recommend" the Wavesys ETS product to enterprise customers. This suggests a degree of importance.
I think that Dell is critical to Wavesys. Dell is a big govt player and I think the govt is a big market for Wavesys. Dell is an aggressive sales oriented low cost operator and all this ties into Wavesys strategy. We need an aggressive sales oriented and dynamic company like Dell (who is willing to go against the establishement) to get us going.
I am not totally up to speed on TrustZone. It sounds promising but it is still a bit murky....unlike Dell. ARM seems a bit cagey and hazy in spelling out explicitly the Wavesys role and I would like to see it more in Black& White.
I don't know what to say about the private placements. Wavesys wants to stay debt free. My guess is that they want to remain agnostic so they don't want a Dell to take a strategic stake. SO.....that doesn't leave them with many options. But....I really can't say.
The Dell deal is the first real development that has broken alot of the FOG surrounding this investment. We need a couple more Dell like deals and then I think everybody will feel pretty comfortable. Of course, I am inferring that a couple more Dell like deals will translate into BIG revenues...leading to Breakeven....and then profitability. Oh...and some stock coverage would be nice too. Y'know...a couple of strong buy recommendations etc etc etc....
IMHO....
Weby Let Me Ask You A Question.
If the Dell Computer business relationship is as promising as it appears, then is the revenue issue irrelevant over the long haul?
As a follow up: Won't all of us know in about six months time whether the Dell Computer deal is significant or not?
Personally, I think both answers must be "YES".
Thanks in advance.
Anyone who trusts Mr. Bill and Stevie Ballmer
ought to be fired from any company mgmt duties....PERIOD. These guys have only one goal: Microsoft Dominance and anything that gets in the way is DEMOLISHED.
nothing new here.
and so it goes.
OT: Vacationhouse, pls private email on matters
such as this. Thank you.
awk..mark1 said u went Ballistic....not me
and secondly, you have to get a grip when shopping online.
Many many people have a hard time shopping online so you should not feel atypical. I cannot tell you all the crazy horror stories of people who try to shop online and don't get exactly what they want....but in the long run 99.99% of these shoppers eventually get what they want and are SATISFIED.
so you shouldn't feel so out of sorts, ole chap.
Now....my advice is to relax. And yes, you ought to get a grip!
Don't extrapolate your personal experiences onto the rest of us or the dynamic that we are involoved in...OK?
thanks.
ARMP's revenue projections are pretty ACCURATE!
look up the numbers!
Keep the faith.
DON'T LET THE NEAR TERM BULL ARTISTS GET INTO YOUR HEAD!!!!
this is a long term story.
Look up ARMP's numbers!!!!!
IT IS IMPORTANT!
sheesh....
