The NFL apparently thought that the halftime show sucked as well. They have said that it is unlikely that MTV will get to produce another one. Very glad now that I did not watch it.
All of the Superbowl commercials can all be seen here:

I also just read a news article that CBS is apologizing for Timberlake ripping the clothing off of Jackson and exposing one of her breasts. The streaker was also funny.

Carolyn nailed the New England victory at three points. Congratulations.
Yours truly was in second at NE -4.
What began as a boring game turned into a pretty decent game.

My favorite two, in this order, were the dogs fetching the Bud Light (ouch) and the horse fart exploding. A few others were okay, but it sure did seem to be a down year for real great commercials.

Hit the casino in San Diego last night -- Villejas, I think.
It was a long (45 minute) $70 cab ride from Coronado (should have rented a car) and $60 (flat rate negotiated for the trip back). Lots of slots and probably 60 tables. The casino was divided into smoking and non smoking. At the risk of being sexist, there was little to no eye candy. There were several bus loads of Mexicans. Not much glitz. No cocktail waitresses. I could not even find a bottle of water to buy.
We drew some attention when we bought in for $1K each. After just a few hands they brought in a new dealer who dealt about twice as fast -- it made it much more difficult to attempt keep an accurate count. We were both in suits which was also VERY over dressed. The guy I was playing with was up $600 after about 45 minutes. It took me just a bit over an hour to hit the $600 mark. I really had to work for it. I was down close to $1K in the first 20 minutes and had to work my way back. I was getting really crappy cards at first -- even when I had decent hands, the dealer's was just a bit better. I finally hit a streak of 8 consecutive wins. Took my winnings and left.
It was late and I just wanted to win a bit to cover some of the trip expenses.
I would never make a trip here to go to the casino, but San Diego, otherwise, is a beautiful place and I would love to come back. Plane leaves in a few hours and I'll be back tonight.
I was very careful to keep the vacuum away from the screws I had sitting next to it. I had no desire to scrounge through the waste bin on the vacuum looking for a screw.
What feature would help minimize this?
At the risk of stating the obvious, a premium membership. <g>
Learned two lessons tonight:
1. Plug the keyboard into the wrong PS2 port and the computer really freaks out -- will not boot. Thought I had fried a hard drive. Glad I had not.
2. When you swap the controller cables on the motherboard (reverse which is plugged into which), the D drive, whose controller cable is plugged into the C drive socket on the MB, had better have windows system files or nothing but the dos prompt works. Windows is quite finicky about loading without himem.sys and some others. Really tested my memory of some of the old dos commands. Dir/p (which I always preferred over dir/w) let me know that my D drive was plugged into the C drive socket on the MB.
Was reminded of something I knew but had forgotten:
The inside of the box gathers LOTS of dust and needs periodic cleaning. Tried a hand held computer vacuum but ended up using the regular household vacuum cleaner. Heavy duty jobs require heavy duty equipment and attachments.
That would give new meaning to "shit for brains" and "grease ball."
Could be the same guy, sans the hat.
I think I found him.....look closely.
Small enough, but not enough hair.
I think Susie would rather clean up grease than fried brains.

I am going to be out of town for the rest of the week (San Diego with a side trip to Torrance to looks at a friend's helicopter), so I'll take 2130 for the rest of the week.
Both checked and working fine. Thanks.

I suspect Matt might make you his parole officer if you asked. The only ones I know much about were the ones I added comments to -- some of the obnoxious ones were not worth the obvious comment however (not that he is in that category).

From reading, understanding, and comprehension comes freedom. From bitterness, obstinance, and defiance comes frying.
Darn glad I just skipped the last 1300 posts. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I have had the last 76 posts on this thread waiting for a (long) time when I had a chance to read them. ROFLMAO.
Unless the title of this board is changed, this will be my last post here.
I am only half surprised that no one renamed it "Phil's Sex Change Advice Thread."

A WAG is a wild ass guess. There has not been a tie, which is why there can be no wag at that point. I think this is what you wanted -- New England by 7 with 47 total points.
It would also be quite nice to have a "submit/archive" button on the preview screen for private replies.
Lots of folks (me included) agree, but Bob has explained that mucking with preview falls into the dangerous category: that is, a long time from now, maybe. If you search this thread and the wish list thread for archive you will probably find his full explanation.

I am going to be in trial or out of town all week. I will take 2159 all week.
Hi Tom:
I still watch it but I have not traded it for the same reason you have not bought it: it never dipped enough to make the risk-reward worth it to me. I almost pulled the trigger once, but decided not to (and lost a small gain) -- lack of comfort at these levels is keeping me out of it on the long side. It is a good company, but in my view the stock is well ahead of the fundamentals. Even though I think it is over priced, this market is crazy long right now and bucking that kind of trend is a quick way to lose money as well.
If I had to pick one side as the most rational bet for the next 2-8 weeks, it would be short, not long. Of course, the market is not always rational and I am not certain enough about that bet to wager anything significant on it.
Typing this out, it makes me think that a small investment in some puts @$30 with a couple months to go might make sense. I will have to take a look at that more closely.
These sound like great projects, but Lowe's had the magnetic angle locator for under $10 (and the one Bull found at Sears was $5).
This probably a question that someone will answer and I will say, Duh, but here goes anyway. I am looking for a tool that I can lay on a surface and measure the angle of incline of that surface. Specifically, I am looking for the angle of incline of a section of a parking lot driveway. I know that if I knew the total rise in elevation over the given distance that I could figure it out mathematically, but I have no easy way (that I can see) of finding or measuring the total rise in elevation over the distance, which I do know or can easily measure. Thanks in advance to any or all who may have what is probably an easy answer.
I seem to recall seeing something about an Indian casino resort. Maybe I am just imagining it. I'll do a little web surfing this weekend.
That is reasoning I can identify with!!
Anyone know anything about gambling in San Diego? I will be there in a couple weeks (getting the Hades out of here for SB weekend).
Is saying "Bite Me" a TOU violation? Just wondering before I decide to say it.
BTW, grubs in legal letters are awarded based on the resulting number of zeros following the appropriate whole number. Thus, all good letters should be grub planning letters. Try looking at the text for Legal Letters 101.

Bob, I want to thank you for taking the time to write such a complete response to what was a sort of tongue-in-cheek comment by me. I'm concerned that you may have taken my remark more personally than I intended.
I have the utmost respect for your work. I've been a paid subscriber for more than two years, and know whereof I speak. I don't believe I've ever known anyone involved in system development and maintenance as responsive to clientele as you are ... and that includes myself ... for I certainly lacked your patience and understanding, and the goodwill you exude in your work.
I will not withdraw my comment about Linux, nor would I want to. Microsoft is an abomination. I'm saddened to see so many people proclaiming their love of "freedom" who can't even recognize the depravity of an entity bent on controlling every aspect of their existence. However, I did not mean my comment as a criticism of you or the work you put into iHub ... the finest investment site on the internet.
Fred
