OK seriously now (ignore 38199 John but I'll take that mil LOL) you make a great point. Keep in mind though that it's even more true for their new partners, especially Emaar. They are clearly interested in making major inroads on the North-American market and now would NOT be a good time for them to be associated with anything less than reputable.
Goodness no Angela, each sentence would end up with:
/ e.
Hahahahaha...
High Slo... hey can you loan me a mil or two... I'd LOVE to add down here LOL. Or should I contact our new buddies at Emaar, I bet one of 'em has that chump change lying at the bottom of his pocket LOL.
How big a stake for Emaar? Right now I'd be inclined to wager a majority stake within a couple months, and swallowing all the smaller fishes including of course SLJB down the road to get a major exchange listing. This would also allow them to control the whole "food chain" on multi-billion dollar projects around the world.
See also SP's post #34867.
Yup, the handwriting is still a bit fuzzy, but it's right there on the wall IMHO.
I say EMAAR will be last in swallowing the smaller fishes, and end up using SLJB for a nice and easy NAS listing thru the back door.
Watch...
Post of the week # 27184 by SoftParade. NEWBIES READ THIS!
Great "big picture" angle (my favorite type,) it does look like the minnow is morphing more and more into a whale, doesn't it?
This week did show the resiliency of those nefarious forces that have been shorting SLJB to death, but it might be wise for them to stop NOW. It's one thing to short and hurt a company worth a million or two, it's another thing altogether to try to short and hurt a company that may soon be valued at a billion plus, and already does business with cos valued in the tens of billions: NOT very smart, now would be a good time to get out of Dodge, cowpokes...
Good to also see the company react so promptly and vigorously to the fax scam today. Way too many CEOs of decent companies take this kind of garbage lying down.
Here is a copy of SP's post for everyone's convenience. Going to bed now but I'd love to hear other longs chime in.

Emaar Buys second largest US Home Builder.
Normally it gets aggravating when you start to see posts and pictures touting larger companies that have peripheral relationships with the company whose stock you own but this may be an exception.
If Sulja is supplying material through Consultech to Emaar in Dubai it is not inconceivable that they will supply some of the trusses and other building materials right here in the US.
But this isnt the main issue whatsoever.
What makes this entire story so hard to swallow for many is that the puzzle pieces do not fit together until you look deeper.
What or why is a long standing Co. like Sulja tinkering with Loftwerks for ? (no "logical" rationale)
Suddenly you have CCM in the picture.
Consultech and now Emaar.
How did we get from Loftwerks (splinter) to Emaar (Redwood Tree) ??
Back to Laing and Emaar and then the wild hypothetical tie in.
Laing Homes is the second largest home builder in the USA after SHEA.
They built mostly in California and Colorado.
Now, after being acquired by EMAAR they plan on an "initial" expansion into 13 other states.
The most recent rumor via the large fish eats smaller fish theory is that SULJA will ultimately end up getting folded into Emaar after another reverse merge or two.
That sentence alone is enough to cause palpitations among shareholders in SULJA as Emaar's BILLION(s) dollar growth since 1997 is off the scale.
The theory however isnt that far fetched because number 1. Emaar has a glut of cash as evidenced by their plunking down ONE BILLION (and small million change) IN CASH for Laing..effectively making them an offer they couldnt refuse.
THEY JUST ACQUIRED the 2nd largest USA Home Builder in cash with the same apparent indifference one of us would purchase a tank of gas or pair of jeans.
How inconceivable is it therefore for them to acquire one of their nickle and dime suppliers before or after another merger up the ladder??
Remember this, like many acquisitions they left the working staff of Laing intact.
They signed the CEO and company officers to LT contracts.
SULJA is a gnat on Laing's backside and Laing was a gnat on Emaar's.
Emaar could acquire Sulja et al from pocket change.
The deal in actuality as far as the trusses or building material would be an afterthought IMO as the main focus would no doubt be have been the current listing on one of the established US Markets.
I didnt formulate this hypothesis but after reading someone elses theory it it isnt hard to envision that this was the original plan set in motion by Emaar with Loftwerks and SULJA and CCM mere pawns in a global game of merger and acquisition where the original plan was to backdoor Emaar onto the Nasdaq.
Sulja swallows Loft
Reverse merger with CCM
PPS rise to gain Nasdaq listing.
Emaar swallows everyone and voila...like midnight at the oasis they first do an IPO in Dubai and then achieve US Market listing in one of the slickest moves in market history.
Machiavellian ?
Yes.
Far fetched ??
Yes.
Out of the realm of possibility ?
No.

The purchase of John Laing for $1 billion is Emaar Properties' first venture into the U.S. It could signal further industry consolidation.

A giant United Arab Emirates real estate company on Thursday acquired Newport Beach-based John Laing Homes for $1 billion in cash, a deal that creates one of the world's largest property developers.
The transaction, which has been approved by a federal agency that oversees foreign acquisitions of U.S. firms, is Emaar Properties' first venture in the United States.

Agreed. Nice to see ya Swinging... long time!
Party I hope so, but given what's happened lately I'm not so sure. Looks like MMs and brokerage firms are totally in control and we all know that the penalties for the kind of fraud they perform daily (perhaps never so blatantly obvious as with SLJB) do not even amount to a slap on the wrist.
Good for investors, bad for taxpayers LOL. I cannot believe how much DHS is paying for these CKYS units with OUR tax dollars. What a ripoff.
Indeed, must still be the same guy or gal who does the PRs, most have been very poorly written.
And all this time I thought it meant Pathetic Estimate Ratio...
Dang...
BOARD... same question here. Crux issue. Seems the MMs and "our" brokers are totally in control, dealing with their short position their way... and screwing us... again?
I dunno but I like it.
Art you think somebody might be frontloading RMDG right now LOL?
Holy Suljarooni!
Just getting better and better every day it seems. Great find twoggle, thanks.
Agreed. Hmmmm.
I'm in already but what I can tell you is that the MMs have been having a tough time dropping her even to the low forties lately. Two probable reasons: the float is very small, and people know that the upside's very large LOL.
FWIW I've wasted quite a few great opportunities trying to save 10-15% on that bigger dip, only to see a stock never looking back. If I were to stumble upon this one right now I'd take at least a starting position, it's a good entry level IMHO.
Not in CHDT yet, but very interested. May I ask the same question in return folks?
No biggie, you'll just have to miss out on that first million LOL.
OT - NLST hit .65 yesterday, and we are FAR from season peak. I think it's fair to say that many of us in this one think the upside is lot more than .75 . If memory serves it hit 3 bucks last year around Sept?
If you can turn it upside down for about 10 minutes it should be just fine. You do such a wonderful job on this board I'm sure the vast majority of us won't mind not having news for 10 minutes LOL.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ALL!
Brokers, MMs and big money are screwing us little guys every day and make the American Dream smell like a huge pile of burning tires... Tired of this garbage?
Pester the SEC, whatever you do... visit Art's great board and CONTRIBUTE. Be a part of the SOLUTION!
CLIFF... DO YOUR PART.
$15 in net income? I'm selling LOL.
Fluff news again. And now we hear that on this particular project which is central to RMDG, revenues won't kick in for at least one month (EU) and two months (U.S.) which in terms of actual cash flow is more like 2 and 3 months.
Stock is going down, not up. Sorry to say the market is reacting correctly.
I'm afraid my previous post about August being a long boring bust for us is coming all true. Good thing I'm a patient man.
Still, sheesh....
TFN yes, and it's good to read re-affrimation of the deal with Liberia for lumber. While UAE and Dubai use far less wood for standard construction than we do in the U.S., the magnitude of the projects SLJB is involved with still means a very large volume of building materials.
At the end of the day the Liberia deal should provide wood to the Middle-East for far LESS both in terms of raw materials and shipping. A smart business decision that should return much greater profits for SLJB and partners on that particular item alone!

Yes, and in no small part thanks to your new board Art. I think it's been a fantastic catalyst.
We ALL need to keep pestering the SEC.
Art you think they might be getting some heat from SEC for pretty much trying to kill trading on RMDG lately?
Mark my tractor would resent that, it bags great as long as the grass ain't too wet and makes the BEST compost I've ever seen. AMAZING RETURNS LOL!
Wow, glad they are not my broker LOL.
Can't say I'm surprised. I've watched many a stock where he seems to have bought a big chunk of the float, pumps it like crazy and then leaves it (and many unsuspecting lemmings) in the crapper for good.
"the shakerzz effect." Sad.
Thanks for the reply.
Party that is one FUNNY typo!
The calvary from the Middle East?
LOLOLOLOL
Thanks for the laugh, I needed it.
The SEC serves big money, not us.
They ONLY do something when they are pestering to death and/or get some real bad publicity (see Enron.)
"Shares not received from TA" , lcal Scottrade branch says to me. "should be paid today (sic) but you never know with these things." The guy also said they're very familiar with LFWK and sounded snippy right off the bat. He couldn't explain that what shows in my portfolio has been locked at 12 cents while what's in my ScottradeElite window has been moving at higher prices. I made him spell his full name for me before thanking him for "helping" me.
Anyone with similar experiences? This sounds like hogwash to me. What is your local branch telling you?
Hi sklein870 I'm long on this one but was away at the time of that run. Which P&D was it, do you remember?
Thanks.
24.55M "real" shares traded today? Would that be fair to assume this given that the MMs probably had a much harder time screwing us with their usual shenanigans?
Thanks a bunch VPB.
REAL volume and closing price today please.
Just got back... thanks folks (NO thanks Scottrade LOL)
Total and utter bull from brokers. I am REALLY tired of the way they treat us, their customers and it is crystal clear that they are NOT on our side.
Bookmarked board. Terrific idea Art.
One thing to also consider would be an independant web site where ihubbers and others could go and answer a simple survey whose results could be forwarded to the SEC and MORE importantly, big news outfits after say, a month of polling. I think the SEC itself will do nothing, I have been watching their actions for a long while and they are clearly part of the problem (i.e. in bed with big money) instead of SERVING US, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
I don't have the capability/knowledge of hosting such a site, but I hope some people here would. Such (bad) publicity is the only thing that seems to get our government to do their job these days.
Nah, Chip was just getting a lil' bored last week LOL.
Two excellent posts IMHO. I would be surprised if ARET has NOt been shorted.
Good to see you back SP, given your track record I just about fell off my chair when I saw CM's post.
Unreal...
My thinking as well (see previous post if interested, there are a few caveats LOL)
