LOVELWLG.... Can you imagine with absolutely no debt and just over 75 million shares, its paradigm shifting polymer technology will make all its shareholders very happy. Even if we have to wait another year. I am in it for 9 years now, not as long as you.
Steve Cordovano is doing their PR and investor relations! The company is a start up with a limited PR budget which I appreciate very much! It is not ( yet) necesary to spend money if your are not having any revenue /income! Keeps dilution to a minimum as well! Steve was in Europe representing a.o. LWLG on Sunday at a investment forum. Doing a great job, I understood.
No I did not speak to Mark. I spoke extensively to people who I believe are closer involved in the process than me.
Freedom, we will be all right! On financing I understood MS is still in negotiations with several very interested parties. I understand there is choice. So financing will happen, question is what is best deal for shareholders! Give it a bit more time. Nobody should steal money from himself at this stage is all I can say.
Do not underestimate the new shareholders who may join as a result of yesterdays investment conference in Antwerp where LWLG was represented by Steve Cordovano. Hardly back home they see this news and the SP go up! We might see the effect in the coming days.
Time to get over two bucks for couple of weeks and move to Nasdaq!
IBM still on silicon, Eindhoven on Indium Phosphide! There is time and money invested here over many years! Best case these technologies can co-exist and are complementary with polymer photonics! De- investing would destroy shareholdervalue and many big ego's. LWLG has to prove it can do it alone as well! This is what Lebby is doing with all polymer chips. Today spring finally seems to have arrived here at my place! Hope LWLG will surprise us very soon!
Walter, Thanks for your update! Confirms our expectations that Nordmin will lower our capex and improve our time to market! I guess financing still the elephant in the room.
This whole tread of discussion is becoming, sorry to say, complete nonsense. Fact is that Mark did not make his prior plan to fly in on friday! He came in on saturday well in time for his formal commitment to present Niocorp at the Macrotrend conference today, Sunday 25 March. Friday evening was informal, a meeting meant to exchange thoughts on various shared investments in several other companies, which we did without Mark! I believe to have understood that Mark was on a trip around the world and used this trip to make stop-over in Belgium! Why he was delayed, I do not know! Why hè was flying around the world I do not know either! I guess it was for business!
The meeting on friday was a small private meeting! Today is a conference organised by macrotrends! No idea why Mark was delayed from friday to saturday. No need to speculate. No need to speculate on who paid the trip either. No need to get paranoïd. He is a busy man sacrificing his weekend to meet potential investors. Just Google Macrotrends.be to understand what they are doing!
Mark could not attend friday evening meeting in Westmalle. He arrived yesterday (saturday) in stead of friday. I was in Westmalle meeting.
Landmark, I think he is alone! There are 4 presenters tomorrow a.o. Mark Smith for Niocorp.
Correct. I am mistaken. Checked.
Correct, that's what Walter said! Now it is tomorrow!
Pls do not get your hopes up based on the wrong assumptions! All I know is that MS arrives tomorrow in Belgium and that Macrotrends ( a Belgium financial magazine) has set up a meeting and presentation by Mark to its members on Monday.
Proto, we will not be fooled by these scrooges. Looking forward to an interesting weekend in Antwerp discussing LWLG!
Based on their recent Quarterly Review, IBC's financial outlook is much better now and the timing for its (expected) capital raise is favorable. With its order portfolio growing servicing its Fortune 500 customers is critical and a condition for continuity. I am sure that part of this money is meant for further investments in its manufacturing capability. Understand that pay back periods are ultra short and that investors are stand to benefit substantially from underwriting .
Johanna, I can live with that. My horoscope tells me you could be right.
Why so pessimistic,Walter? I hope in the next 6 weeks, which is also before year-end.
Here is my two cents. Mark is an impatient man, he wants the best deal now instead of a possible better deal tomorrow.'Tomorrow is another day', to paraphrase a well known song. The best deal can only be obtained if you have ' leverage' in the negotiations. That means playing chess at two tables simultaneously. The table with the best deal now and the table with an even better deal tomorrow. A table with a buy out now to a strategic or private equity partner or building the mine with equity and debt financing tomorrow? If you use an analogous pattern looking at ''the money behind Molycorp'' you could build a case for a buy out , the creation of a new company and the sale of part of its shares on a bigger exchange, and as a Newco sell bonds for its financing. The question becomes than at what price are (51%-90% of) the current shareholders willing to sell their shares? Anyway to be able to lock in such a (theoretical) deal MS an team need to show that they are also able to find financing the 'traditional way'' and passionate and willing to build the mine. I can live with both scenario's.
Oh absolutely!
He even said there was a possibility to do all financing with one party. However, given what Niocorp has published sofar, they could use Nordmin's project credit facility and the German Loan Guarantee as leverage ! It is highly likely that Niocorp may end up with a combination of different financing facilities and possibly additional equity funding from one to multiple parties. I hope we will know soon.
Dutchfree, I agree. Been watching Mark Smith's interview video in London late last year again.
Now that debt side has the green 'go' sign on the technical soundness of the project and the financials remain outstanding with a NPV of $ 2,3 Billion dollars, EBITDA of $ 389 Million and a payback of 2.5 years there is no reason why the debt syndicate and the equity side would not start moving. As Mark said in the video, due diligence has been going on for months and the final decision can be envisaged when both these sides - debt and equity- know that each side is committed.
They will not withhold any information, unless forecluded by NDA! Just my hunch, thinking of where they are likely to be with the verification of the 50 Gig packaged solution ( 400 Gig = 8 times) and the fact that Lebby wants to show a working solution in stead of yet another presentation on 'what might be'!
By the way, I am a strong believer in polymer photonics from Lightwave! I am kind of counting on a commercial LWLG 100/ 400 Gig solution shortly before the meeting in Brussels next month! Exciting weeks to come imo!
No, I sat more to the right! I do remember that it was in Eindhoven. Eindhoven is still very much indium...They have seem to have difficulty to grasp the paradigm shift required to deliver scaleable, cheap and energy efficiënt photonic solutions to the industry now in 2018.
I was in the room!
Correct! Options with and without need of this engineering report! Question now what will it be? What is most favorable ( least dilution and maximum funding) and furthest along ( equity, debt, supplier credit or combinations) in the negotiations? Sure all negotiations started months ago! Nice to see SP rising on a friday, normally a weak day for SP imo!
Hopefully the last round.
No completion date mentionned. Study ...... 'was conducted as part of the normal due diligence process for traditional financing... In other words there is also non traditional ( non debt) financing! 'As MS said there are more options pursued at the same time , debt financing being an important one! I think there is light appearing at the end of the tunnel! Maybe a surprise announcement in the coming weeks?
Thanks for article Trofee! Good for morale!
Boilermaker, in this case Niocorps engineers, the independent engineering companies who did the feasibility study and the third party ' bank' engineers were involved in the final version. This process started early october 2017 after the provisional report included mistakes and misrepresentations! These are my words as I understood them from public statements made by Mark Smith. It is now 5 month later. I am pretty sure that this report should be ready, also because to pay and engage these people would be expensive! Again the report is meant for the debt financing option, which is just one - important- financing option! A strategie alliance or partnership would not require such a report!
Agree! I have stated the same several times! You have several financing options of which debt financing is an important one! Another theoretical option is a strategic alliance with a party interested in niobium and scandium or super alloys! We will only know when see an announcement! Meanwile the company moves forward on all controlable aspects of the project not to loose any time!
Thx Steve! Good intro to conference! There is no escape for the industry: data and communication industry purchasing criteria will be completely met by LWLG's polymer photonics chips. The agenda narrows the options for photonic chips! Polymers are compatible with silicon and as 'stand alone'chips!
Agree. I would question managements credibility if they would reveal their negotiation tactics and preferences before sealing a deal. We need some more patience.
The condensed report was ready in January! Company did not make a public announcement!
They are still producing 5000 tons annually! Imo they never invested 2 billion! They were sold to Magris in 2015 for 530 million dollars with 8 years mine life left! Now the decision to make by the current owners is, do we invest in this 'old mine' or do we buy a new mine for less money!
Understand they started production in 1976. That is 42 years ago. Their shaft goes beyond 800 meters deep! I came away with impression that their mine life was limited to another 5 years and required major investments to go even deeper! So they would have to decide to invest in an risky and complex old mine or in a new one!
Nebraskan, Niobec's vision is to be a global leader for niobium! Are your messages about Niobec implying that they maybe interested in the Elk Creek Project? That would mean private equity financing and a strategic alliance across borders! With Trump's tariffs in the making ( also for Canada's steel) that could make sense for a lot of diffferent reasons! Interesting thought!
